We were staying the weekend in Springerville. We stopped at this restaurant just by chance and we were really glad. First of, there are no TV's blaring at you. Good real country music was playing through the speakers. We started with the southwestern clam chowder and after 3 spoonfuls from the cup ordered a second. Next was the Cobb salad for me and "black and blue" sirloin for me husband. Both just really good. Tasted like the meals were made with good quality ingredients. We would have liked to try the bread pudding, but we were too full!

Well first off, it's bigger than it looks. We stopped in for lunch while passing through. The food was great. All four of us (men) ordered different entires. All of us were stuffed so the severing size is great. We also tried their award wining clam chowder and it was great. To wrap up we enjoyed bread pudding at again it was spectacular. The walls have local photos from artist photographers and they are beautiful and reasonable priced. The food price was reasonable as well.

Pros: The food was good. We had the burger and the Vegetable pasta primavera. Temperature and taste was good, though the pasta still smelled of wine, and the fries were a little over done. Cons: Service was horrible and the food was overpriced! We waited 20 minutes to even get menus, and finally had to get up to get them. Then, another 20 minutes to for someone to take our order. And, finally, another 20 minutes to get our check. Oh, and we were not once checked on during our meal, and I never received the bread with the pasta, despite asking three times. And Please note, the restaurant was only 1/3 full, so it wasn't due to being busy. Probably won't eat here again.

First time in the area. Went on a Tuesday night with colleagues. Place is very large and was very empty. Wasn't sure what to make of that but the food was excellent and the staff were very nice. Definitely recommend this restaurant to others and will return again. Maybe tonight!

Stopped in on my way throgh. Was impressed with the wounderful flavors! I had the Smoked chicken farafalle. Very pleased. Their fresh squeezed lemonade was quite pleasant as well.

What a great little spot! I had the pesto chicken tortellini...so good. Having stayed in springerville for almost three weeks this is as close to a fine dining atmosphere as you're going to get! Service was awesome however I missed out on the tiramisu because the chef that made it was off, but good to know its handmade! My partner had the chicken bow tie pasta and we both agreed that although we may have wanted to, licking plates in public is not acceptable!

Enjoyed our dinner and the waiter.

The rusty cafe is fabulous! Their award winning soup was fantastic. It's a MUST to try -- even if only a sample. I had their Cobb Salad and it was really tasty. They have gluten free options too. A happy Californian for that part the owner (forget her name) was very sweet and her son was a great host to us! He sat us at our table and the little entrepreneur sold us some of his yummy candied walnuts at the end of our meal. Highly recommended!

The oral pleasure was amazing and the service was very prompt and friendly! The fries are outta control good as well! I'll definitely be going back, but it will be hard not to get the same thing over and over because I loooove buffalo tenders. The only thing I would change would be the bench seats. I don't have enough cushion on my bottom to make the seat comfortable. :)

Was looking for a place right outside Greer, found this place from Yelp. Our server was very friendly and inviting. I got the Chicken and the BF got the salmon. Mildly overpriced, but the food was flavorful. Asparagus was heavily salted, but they were willing to cater to my sensitive tummy and modify their standard sauce on the chicken.

A absolute delight. Chef cooking. Gourmet cuisine in the sticks! Love everything about it. The food it wonderful. The lighting, music and ambiance is wonderful. A little pricey but worth it and they should change the seating is all. Other then that absolutely perfect.

Passing through town and so glad we found this restaurant. Comfortable atmosphere, excellent food and good prices. We had sirloin dip, chicken Thai salad and the most scrumptious bread pudding ever.

2nd time we have been here. The service is excellent and the food is amazingly good. We'll make a point of coming here at least monthly.

We passed through Springerville/Eagar after a trip to cut down our Christmas tree. Normally, we stop at Los Dos Molinos for some good Mexican food. However, that restaurant was closed so we had to find some place nearby. After a quick Yelp search, we came upon the Rusty Cactus which is located just down the street. We were very pleased with this place. The ambiance is great. Oddly, it seems out of place in this community. When we first arrived for lunch, there was only one other group there. Over the course of our meal, 2-3 more groups came in. Despite the low number of people, service was a little slow. But it didn't bother us. It just had a very relaxed feel. The food was excellent. I had the Capicola Melt and it was seasoned with a honey dijon sauce. The flavors were great. We will definitely consider returning to the Rusty Cactus when passing through the area.

Found this place on Yelp (Thank you!) on our trip from Apache Junction to Albuquerque. We had outstanding sandwiches with a side salad (instead of fries) and both were very good. I realized why it was called the Rusty Cactus when I looked out the window and saw it! Thanks to our waitress and the cook - we'll definitely be back!

Very nice restaurant! Inside looks much better than outside. I recommend the Sonoran.

Great little family owned restaurant. Food is delicious which makes up for the limited menu.

An absolute gem! Not to be rude about the name, but the menu and the quality of the food was not at all what we were expecting when entering a place called "The Rusty Cactus" (to be honest, we were thinking frozen hash browns and gray gravy from a jar). Instead, the selections (we were there for an early lunch) were most unusual, and everything was delicious, hot, and tastefully presented. And the speedy service and staff demeanor were impeccable. A little ad in the local paper (The WM Independent) would surely bring in the curious who would quickly become regular patrons willing to go quite far out of their way to visit this place. Unfortunately, the currently restricted hours (just two days a week last time I looked) means that we now have to patronize far inferior establishments in Springerville when we go there on Sundays.

Delicious and friendly. We stopped in on a road trip (Grand Canyon to VLA to White Sands) and were pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful lunch along the way.

Every time we visit Eagar we go to Springerville and eat at the Rusty Cactus...Love it.

Great meal! We were totally surprised and thrilled to find a great restaurant in the White Mountains. Well worth the drive if you are coming from Show Low! Our group ate there for lunch and ordered soup, burgers, salads and an amazing Creme Brûlée for dessert. We'll definitely head back there real soon!

I wanted a Steak and this was our best option so we just walked in. What a surprise. This place was great. Staff recommended we all had something different and we did. We decided on the Smoked Chicken Farfalle, Scampi Diabolo, and Black and Blue Sirloin. We all sampled each other's entrées. Everyone agreed the food was excellent. We had the Fire roasted Poblano Chicken Soup, The Clam Chowder, Champagne Mushrooms, Calamari, and Grilled Shrimp for starters. This entire meal was simply awesome. None of us could think of a single thing to complain about. Go here. You will not regret it.

The decor is a little wierd... I loved the artwork for sale though. The food was very good. I had fish fry and it was delicious. Hubs had a Cappicola Sandwich and it was also very good. Good for kids. Good service :)

This was a great little restaurant! The food was awesome and the service just as good! It was obvious they have many local fans too, usually a good sign. Check out their menu online.

What a wonderful find. The small details such as onions marinated in balsamic for the house salad, fresh chuncks of blue cheese in the dressing. The entire meal was carefully preparred and so enjoyable. To top it off the very best Bread pudding I've ever tasted. Nestled in the pines outside Alpine, Az. Romantic little restaurant.

Came into Springerville for work and took a look around town to see where the best place to eat would be. The whole town is basically all on Main Street. I went to the Rusty Cactus for lunch and had the specialty Chicken Poblano soup and the Cactus Cobb Salad. The soup was good - good flavor with just a touch of spice. Not overpowering like other poblano soups that I've had. The Cactus Cobb salad was great! I'm a big fan of salads that have tons of flavor and unique ingredients. This salad was fresh, came with a healthy serving of chicken, delicious marinated tomatoes, cactus, onions, roasted red peppers, crispy bits of fresh bacon, and edible flowers. Absolutely delicious! I think we may come back for dinner tonight.

When we heard that Bill (formerly chef @ Tal-wi-wi Lodge) had opened a new restaurant - could'nt wait! Sadly, Bill could'nt be there that day, however asst. chef Alex has been taught well. Salads were beautiful & tasty. Multi colored nastursiums, various greens w/napalitos.No bottled dressings. Service was excellent. Before leaving we scanned both brunch & dinner menus which left us all salivating in anticipation. Next trip up Rusty Cactus is our go to destination. Godspeed Bill!
