While staying at The Ridge, we came over to The Grille @ the Hilton, which is walking distance, for a late dinner. The place had a quiet ambience by the 9PM time we got there. The food did not disappoint. - Chopped Salad (solid portion split between the two of us. Dressing was not overpowering. Good start to the meal) - Asparagus (if you are a fan, I recommend it) - Fish Tacos (really good. I would definitely order again) - Lobster Quesadilla (BEST thing we ate here. The sauce was great and the chunks of lobster on a wheat tortilla hit the spot. It was unique in its tang and flavor.) Add a full bar and this was a really solid dinner. After dinner, we took our unfinished drinks out to the fire pit on the patio. Nice touch.

Fantastic breakfast buffet. Includes omelettes, pancakes and Belgium Waffles. Just order through your server. We stayed at the adjoining Hilton so we went two days in a row to fuel up before our hiking sessions! We also went for dinner one night. They had live music outside on the patio (weather permitting always ask for a patio table! ) and happy hour is available out their from 3-6. You must try their lobster quesadilla. It was utterly delicious!

This restaurant was fair, and really a 3.5. The Club sandwich was okay but it wasn't what a club sandwich should be. The caesar salad (small one) was kind of inadequate. But the fish tacos were pretty good and the fish was well cooked. The capresse was also good and the tomatoes fresh but the cheese was missing something.

Our first night at the Hilton Resort we ate at the bar. The food was very good and our bartender John was helpful and super friendly. Great fish tacos and you should try the nectar martini. The garlic fried and sweet potato fries were also great and had a cute presentation in their little fryer baskets. Also, Happy hour is from 3-6pm and they have some decent specials. We ate here for breakfast most days, mainly because my husband is a Hilton Rewards Member and we got vouchers for breakfast every day of our stay. The continental buffet breakfast is served a few times a week (not everyday) and includes fruit, cheese, pastries, eggs, yogurt, granola, sausage/bacon, and it runs about $18. We had this one morning, it was okay nothing too spectacular. I would recommend ordering from the menu items. I loved the oat bread pecan french toast which comes with candied pecans over the top of them. Our server Jesus was very nice and always on top of things. Overall I would give it a 3.5, so I rounded up to 4. Also, the restaurant/bar closes at 10pm. Some items are very good, but it seems pricey for the type of fair. However, pretty much everywhere in Sedona is. If we didn't have the vouchers I'm not sure we would have eaten here as often as we did (each voucher was worth $11 towards our meal; and we received 2/day).

Great food, great environment, but what really set this restaurant apart was the service. I'm a typical meat and potatoes eater! I really love a great steak and enjoy a nice appetizer of shrimp cocktail to start a meal. Unfortunately shrimp cocktail was not on the menu. Never fear Shelly our waitress went out of way to make in incredible cocktail sauce with just the right amount of kick! It seems like a little thing but I know about you but I love to hear "Let me find a way to make that happen" thank you Shelly our quick weekend escape started off great because you know how to please your guest!! Thank you!!

My husbands meal was cold in the center - even when they brought it back a second time - and no one explained the drink vouchers provided by management. While the restaurant manager was helpful and nice, the experience left a bad taste in our mouths. For the prices we expected premier dining.

Whenever I go here I always enjoy the flat iron steak and a good wine. I love coming here because the food is always great! But I have never been wowed by the service; my last visit being the worst. Out server was polite and courteous, but I just think she was a bad server. She kept on forgetting things, like my friend's drink and the fact that she didn't want salt on the rim, she was flighty throughout the meal, and she brought our check and then asked if we wanted it split (not to mention after my mother asked for the local discount out server asked if we wanted to charge it to our room). I will of course return here because I love the food but The Grill really needs to improve in their service.
We read the reviews regarding the awful service from a female server. We also read how great the bison meatloaf was. We needed to stay local so we tried it with a wary eye. The service from the moment we walked in was excellent. Our server, Ryan, was attentive and timely. Other servers also stopped by to refill our water and ask us how things were at the table. My impression is that they are trying to overcome bad reviews. And they did it very successfully. The bison meatloaf was excellent and we would not hesitate to go back again.

My family and I have been visiting the Hilton for the past 8 years. We usually eat at the restaurant at least once each trip. It's convenient and there is a decent variety. We usually get burgers which are good and consistent. The fish tacos and chicken quesadilla are also good and their guacamole is delicious. I have also had breakfast there a few times which I've enjoyed. I would actually consider it a 3.5 rating. Hard to go higher because there are so many amazing restaurants in Sedona. But if you're a hotel guest it's a great, convenient option especially after you've been traveling all day.

My fiance and I ate here because we had a restaurant.com certificate to the Coyote Lounge (also part of the Hilton) and it was accepted here. The food was great! I had the bison meatloaf with fried onions, mashed potatoes and the best gravy ever and my fiance had a 3 course meal as part of their "Dine in Sedona" special. They were out of the "special" for the evening, but we were not disappointed!

I stayed at the Sedona Hilton and ate at the Grille three times and ordered room service once during my vacation. The first night I had the New York cut steak with Gorgonzola potatoes, pickled asparagus and sauteed rapini. The steak was a great cut and cooked perfectly. The asparagus were different, but surprisingly good. The Gorgonzola potatoes were good but needed more Gorgonzola. I wasn't a fan of the rapini, I am from the south, greens like that need a pepper sauce. For dessert I had the flourless chocolate cake which was delicious. The service was great, the waiter was attentive and very helpful. Four stars. For my next visit I had the steakhouse burger. I asked for medium but it came out well done. It was still delicious and the french fries were perfect. This time the service left alot to be desired. The waitress disappeared after giving me my menu, another server had to go get her. I was finally served but a different server kept filling my tea for me. After my server brought me my burger, she sat down at the bar and was watching a football game. She didn't check on me after that, another server asked if my meal was okay. I finished with my burger and was ready to get dessert to go and pay. So I sat there watching my server watch the game and waited.... and waited.... and waited.... I'm not one for violence or confrontations, but after fifteen minutes of staring at the back of my server's head, I found myself daydreaming about going over to her and yanking on her pony tail, *hard*, to get her attention. She finally glanced over to check on me. I have never been so blatantly ignored like that. I ordered the chocolate lava cake, paid and left. The cake was fabulous. Two stars but only because the other server kept my tea full, otherwise it would be one star, three for the food and negative two for the service. I'm still disappointed in myself for leaving a nice tip without specifying that it was to be shared with the other server. On my third visit I had the roasted natural chicken with savory bread pudding, mashed potatoes and pan gravy. It was fabulous, every single item was so flavorful! The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were wonderful. The savory bread pudding reminded me of my mom's dressing, which is one of the highest compliments that I can give. The server brought bread fresh from the oven, I actually had to wait a few minutes before I could even pick it up. The pan gravy was so good that I was dipping the bread in it. The service was just as good as the food! For dessert, I ordered the deep dish caramel apple pie to go and ate it later but I ate the cinnamon swirl ice cream at the restaurant. The ice cream was wonderful, it was vanilla with swirls of cinnamon flavored caramel and I am hoping that I can find a pie like this close to home. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Five stars. I didn't feel like leaving the room one night so I ordered the Antipasto appetizer and fresh squeezed strawberry lemonade. The portion was huge, it had prosciutto, capicola, manchego cheese, organic olives that had been marinated in an oil with crushed red peppers. It was wonderful and I had enough left for a snack the next day. The strawberry lemonade was so good! The server had told me that the machine that makes the lemonade was broken, but that he would try to fix it. So I was extremely happy to see it on my tray. Five stars.

Nice location and ambiance. I ordered the prime rib and it came out with grill marks and was raw inside. Decided to eat here, since we were staying at the resort. We were seated, waited for 10-15 minutes, tables around us got served, including one that was seated after us. There was another couple there, that seemed to be waiting to be served as well. The server actually looked at us a few times, I assumed after making eye contact more than once, we would get service-nope. Not even drinks were asked about. Horrible way of doing business, we left, ordered pizza, which we went into second and picked up, thankfully it was good. Avoid this place.

I'm quite surprised about all the five-star reviews on the Hilton Grill at Shadow Rock. The food was not that good and the service was not any better. The one exception was the bison meatloaf with mashed potatoes - that was delicious. We suspected there was a problem in the kitchen in that the meatloaf was delivered perfectly but the other three dishes that we ordered were cold and overcooked. It's a good thing we had salads because we had to wait 45 minutes for our main courses. Considering the cost of the steaks that we ordered - we ordered the NY cut and the flat iron steak - both were not cooked to order, under seasoned, and were served cold. The redelivered meals were much better in temperature and quality (but not seasoning). However we did not get any discount or concessions whatsoever with 3 out 4 meals delivered poorly.

We ate here for breakfast for 4 days and 1 dinner and 1 lunch. I liked the food and the service was pretty good. I had the surf and turf special for dinner and it was very good. Belly Up to the Bar! This is a review for the bar/lounge area of The Grille. So after a round of golf... we decided to head back to the hotel... and the bar inside The Grille. It was a Sunday afternoon and we had the whole place to ourselves. The bartender was friendly and since we were the only ones VERY on top of our drinks. We ordered the pulled pork sliders and the chicken wings.... and we really liked 'em. Licked our fingers after we were done. :) The wings were nice and crispy skinned and juicy on the inside and they were in like a spicy/sweet sauce that was really different than the usual "Frank's Hot" wing sauce. Sliders were meaty and hit the spot. The sauce was a sweet, tangy sauce. I'd go back for both. Maybe next time we'll actually eat IN the restaurant.

Great food! We waited only 10 minutes for a table. The wine list was extensive and the food was delish. The waiter on the other hand didn't know anything about wine and had to ask someone else for help in recommending something. He was attentive though. The portions were good size, not too big. It only gets 3 stars because of the lack of wine knowledge and the fact that the bar closes at 11pm, even when the hotel is full and people still want to keep drinking. Not bad for a hotel restaurant though. I would recommend making a reservation.

The amount of service and attention given was directly related to the male presence. It was SO obvious she was sucking up to the guys. While we waited for drinks and our food she had more than enough time to chat with the guys, and even made sure they got immediate refills. All she offered my wife and I were apologies about how busy she was. Never going back. The bad waitress more than out weighed the good waitress. the manager needs to pay more attention to their staff.

We had soup and salad which was good. Plus for many wines by the glass. Great outdoor patio with big comfortable chairs. Big fire pit to enjoy your wine by. Given that this is a hotel restaurant with the usual hotel restaurant prices, it should only really get three stars based on food quality for the amount of money paid but the outside patio (with fire pit) is so nice and the chairs so comfortable, that it gets an extra star for that alone!

I ate lunch here after hiking at Bell Rock. A friend recommended the spinach salad, and it was amazing. Huge grilled shrimp, a circle of toasted goat cheese, and a delicious vinegrette. It came with focacci, and I ordered a nice chardonney to go with it. The total bill was $40 for one person (!!), but it was worth it. The wine (Sonoma Cutrer) was so good I bought a bottle when I got home ($28 at Safeway compared to $14 per glass at the restaurant). I would definately go back.

This food is awful! The only redeeming quality of this place is that the waiter/bartender Robbie was really friendly. But the food was so bland it was unpalatable. The black beans were like eating mud. We referred to them as the "mystery beans." The hamburger was bland and the "spicy" hot wings were not at all spicy but sweet instead. This food honestly could not have been worse. Do not eat here!

Summary...really really bad steaks and very very blunt steak knives paired perfectly with courteous yet unattentive service. My family and I dined here, my boys and I ordered NY Strip and Porterhouse cuts. Food arrived 25 minutes after ordering ( during which no sign of server or bread) steaks arrived cold, undercooked and rubbery. Due to the very blunt steak knives I could barely cut the steaks. Medium rare came out mostly uncooked, even after the steaks were sent back we discovered that over 35% of the NY Strip was fat and the Porterhouse had a huge piece of connective tissue. The uncooked Porterhouse was served over the poblano potatoes. Serving them on the side could have prevented the runoff juices from soaking the potatoes. The sofrito rice had no flavor and appeared to be made with just green food color. The asparagus was limp and super soft, no texture. I only tried one bite of the sautéed Rapini that seemed too oily/buttery. IMO they should just feed Rapini to the pigs. My wife had fish tacos, Mahi Mahi tasted like over cooked chicken breast. How do you mess up black beans in the southwest? We sat outside and when the fire went low and finally went out, no one came to fix it, had to actually ask a couple times, finally it was fixed towards the end of the meal. Apparently cigars are allowed while you are eating, with kids around. A Subway sandwich would have been a better ending to our day.
