A fabulous stay! We stayed in the wild rose cabin that was two levels. Milena greeted us with such a warm welcome and was so helpful. We talked about dinner for the evening and she pulled out every menu from the area asking us our tastes and thoughts then she called and made dinner reservations for us on the patio at the Heartline since we were wanting to eat healthy and some romance. When we got to our cabin which had a fireplace, jet tub and full kitchen not to mention to die for fudge nut brownies!! We sat on our balcony porch breathing the fresh air and watching the clouds pass though the canyon. Really is a great place. rejuvenated and relaxed. The next morning they served the best breakfast and apple cinnamon muffins that I thought we would get in a fist fight over but lucky for us they even packed a couple for us for the road. Milena also gave us suggestions on where to go hiking (airport loop) which was perfect for our level of comfort with spectacular views. Not only does this cabin get 5 stars but the wonderful owners as well. They really help make our anniversary something special.

If I were to write out a full review, I would be repeating all the positive things everyone else has said. This is a great place. It would be great for couples, but I was there alone on a spiritual retreat of sorts, and it was perfect for this purpose as well. Mike (and especially Milena) are remarkably attuned to your needs and will make you feel comfortable without making you feel like you're putting them out. I also loved all the birds that their numerous feeders brought. What a treat! It really is a place to go off the grid, though--my cell service (Verizon) only occasionally had service enough to send and receive texts. Forget about checking Facebook or email on a regular basis and just chill. It's a special place! I highly recommend it.

This is the ultimate getaway from it all. Your private cabin = Location, Jacuzzi, Private Creek Access, Fireplace, homemade goodies, private patio area. What more could a couple want! No children are allowed and they would not appreciate it anyway in this couples paradise. I really can not think of a way to make it better! I have been here 4 times and WILL be back. It does not get better. Mike and Melina are great hosts and you just can not get this type of atmosphere at a hotel or resort. Don't cheat yourself. Stay here! I would give it more stars if I could. This is the best place I have stayed, anywhere.

This place and its owner/operators Mike & Milena are amazing. I don't know where to start. My girlfriend always wanted to rent a nice cabin to get away and with Labor Day approaching, we decided to go to Sedona and then up to Monument Valley for the weekend. She stumbled onto this place and decided to book a night there and we couldn't be happier we did. It's a little ways outside of Sedona up toward Flagstaff on the 89A. It's just close enough to Sedona so that going into town is easy and it just far enough away to make it peaceful. When we got there, we were greeted by both Mike and Milena who took us up to the office after a brief view of their Koi/Goldfish pond. We went into the office where Milena checked us in, highlighted some points on a local map we might be interested in, gave us a brief tour of the grounds and then a tour of our cabin. They are not big but that's definitely part of the charm. The site is for adults only and that is appreciated. There is no cable, no TV, no internet and if you're lucky, very little cell service. It gives you time to really enjoy where you are; not being so connected to civilization. We stayed in the Sycamore cabin which is a 2 story loft with the bedroom upstairs, kitchen bath and sitting area downstairs along with fireplace. The Sycamore is set back aways from the road so you don't hear the traffic that others may mention as much. They Sycamore was fresh and certainly didn't have the feel of an OLD cabin. Everything was fairly modern but still had the rustic cabin feel and we loved it. We crossed the road and went down to the creek and spent some time just relaxing by the water, listening to nature. We thoroughly enjoyed the Jacuzzi tub that evening. That night, we sat out on our balcony and just relaxed and conversed. The night sky, the trees and the massive cliff right behind us were all so very beautiful. That night we slept with all the windows and doors open to enjoy the cool crisp air. The cabins are all equipped with coolers though so if you prefer that then it is available. I woke up in the night and just happened to look out the window to see a couple of raccoons playing in the yard and also happened to hear some javelinas rooting around. In the morning we were greeted with some muffins, juice/coffee and a wonderful quiche as well as friendly conversation with a couple other guests and Mike and Milena. After breakfast, I took a few moments to write in the journal in our room. They have journals you can write your thoughts down in and read what other people have written. Certainly makes you feel a little connected to see people from all over the country that have written in them. Oh and I cannot forget the wonderful brownies that were waiting for us in the cabin when we arrived. We will most definitely go back and hopefully soon. If you want to spend some quality time with your significant other without all the trappings of everyday life, do yourself a favor and book a cabin here. I firmly believe that part of the reason they do what they do is to help couples reconnect. Thank you Mike & Milena!! Jason & Crystal

1.) Cozy, cute & comfortable - the cabins were very comfortable and we enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and the electric fireplace. We stayed during the holiday season and the cabins were decorated nicely. With lights and stockings, etc. We felt at home and were very cozy in the cabins. 2.) Personal, friendly service - the owners Mike and Milena are welcoming and warm. The experience is very personal. We were welcomed with delicious homemade brownies and they make a homemade continental breakfast. Milena sat with us and gave us a list of nearby food and sightseeing recommendations. Very helpful information and made being in a new area easy to navigate. 3.) Great location - near many hiking trails, downtown area, and red rock viewpoints Overall, highly recommend the cabin to anyone.

What a tranquil & relaxing place. The wife and I spent two nights here over the Columbus day weekend and could not possibly have had a better experience. The cabins are extremely comfortable and spacious. The drive into Sedona is very quick (assuming you are not leaving right at sunset) and quite beautiful given their location just North of the town line. The breakfasts were delicious and the brownies were so good, we got the recipe. The breakfast area with the Koy pond was fantastic and sitting on the porch in the evening looking at the stars was amazing. Mike & Milena offer a wonderful experience at their B&B and I would definitely stay here again next time I visit.

My wife and I have spent both our honeymoon and first anniversary at the Canyon Wren, and we plan on visiting many more times. It is a beautiful location, with cozy, unique cabins that make it so easy to relax. We have stayed at both the Sycamore and Morning Glory cabins, which have identical layouts and jacuzzi tubs. The fountains in the back are perfect for sitting outside on the patio and relaxing, and Mike and Milena always have great suggestions for hikes in the area. This place is truly memorable, and is the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of Sedona.

The cabins are immaculate!!! I mean IMMACULATE!!! The owners (Mike & Milena) are welcoming and down to earth. We stayed in the Sycamore cabin and found it to be perfect! Better than any 5 star place we've stayed!!!! Mike's brownies are amazing! The little details Milena puts into making each couples stay is one thing that makes this such an amazing place to stay!!

Mike and Milena are wonderful hosts, the breakfasts were spectacular and the cabins are perfect. The location is also perfect - 6 miles north of Sedona so you are away from the touristy strip and closer to great hiking and nature. The cabins are a little close to a pretty busy road but you still feel like you are in your own little world when you are there. I strongly recommend a stay.

Loved everything about this place! Very comfortable, peaceful, and clean! As a germaphobe, I don't feel comfortable bathing in public/hotel tubs. This place was the exception, and I took baths every night with the yummy aromatherapy gels that Milena left. The food was amazing and Mike and Milena were so great at making exciting breakfasts that fit my special requests. It was fun watching the local wildlife during breakfast, especially when we got to feed the koi fish during breakfast! Mike and Milena also gave us great advice on the best places to eat and shop and hike everything else we wanted to do! There's no TV and little to no phone service, but I didn't miss it at all. They keep quite a few books and guides in the cabin. There is also a little BBQ on the porch that works great, and of course it nice and clean! We stayed in the Honeysuckle cabin.

Great getaway place for couples. The Canyon Wren is situated in the Oak Creek Canyon away from the city about a mile from Slide Rock.. The rooms and property are well maintained and updated. The garden area is filled with all types of birds and flowers. Great spot for photographing birds, reading a book or just plain relaxing. Mike and Milena greet you every morning with an outdoor breakfast where you can chat with the other guests and watch the birds and enjoy the garden. If you want to eat by yourself you can take your food back to your cabin. Each cabin has a mini kitchen and a full fridge where you can cook your own meals if you decide to. On this trip, we decided to run down to town and pick up a steak and cook on the grill that is on our private balcony. The creek is across the street with a gate that is not accessible to everyday tourists, so you can sit down there and listen to the flow of the water or dip your toes in to cool off without a bunch of people around. We stay there every chance we get when we go to Sedona.

In the middle of a rain storm and flash flood, Mike and Milena made my partner and I sandwiches and soup when they saw we hadn't gone out to dinner like we had planned due to the storm. It was so very sweet and thoughtful for them to stop by! The morning glory cabin is where we stayed, and we honestly did not want to leave because it was soooo good. We stayed at the cramped Oak Terrace Resort down the road one night, and does not compare to the quality and space you get at Canyon Wren. The cabin was spotless, and the owners thought of every little detail in order to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Don't believe the photos online because they don't do the cabin justice. :) The brownies and muffins are to die for. Good coffee, too. They even accommodated our dietary needs (dairy-free) for breakfast. The only two downsides was the noise from the road, and the neighbors were unaware of how loudly their voices carried at night. This didn't reflect poorly on our entire experience there, however. We can't wait to return in the winter!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the morning glory cabin and it was wonderful. I highly recommend staying with Mike and Melina. The cabins are so beautiful and unique. They really seem brand new, but also maintain that cabiny feel. We were a bit apprehensive about the lack of TV and Internet, but ended up not missing it at all. The place is just so incredibly peaceful and the red rock behind the place is so pretty. We enjoyed Sedona so much and got an incredibly peace nights sleep. We will be back!

wow, this place is great. i agree with all the positive reviews already mentioned but disagree with the comment about the sound of traffic. granted, everyone has different sensitivities but our cabin was in no way too close to traffic for me. if anything i appreciated the convenience of being right on 89A. my gf was moving out from NJ to SF and i wanted to surprise her along the way and finish out the drive with her. carolyn and milena were super helpful in propogating my "surprise" and were SOOOO sweet to my gf after she had been on the road for over a week and needed to feel some comfort. this is THAT type of place, mom and pop, get to you know you, low key, etc. it's half the price of any of the nicer spas/resorts and has 1000X the amount of character and charm. we stayed in the sycamore cabin for 2 nights and had a blast. very private, chill and relax, cooked dinner, was left alone, lounged in the jacuzzi, sat in front of the fire place and slept in the incredibily comfortable bed up in the loft. our cabin had a great view off it's back deck and great light throughout. we both noticed before we left that we loved the place because from the SECOND you walk on the property you can tell it's run by people that really love what they do. we had breakfast with mike and milena before we left and had a REAL conversation with them (over mike's incredible homemade muffins) and some fresh fruit. we'll definitely be back and can't recommend this place enough for a home-base while hiking and exploring sedona.

The temptation to give "Canyon Wren" zero stars is a strong one, 'cause we'd like to scare people away and keep this secret all to ourselves. However, that'd be unfair to Mike and Milena. In a nutshell, this is a wonderful place to stay and we are already planning to return next year (if not sooner). It's quiet, lovely, chock full of birds, close to Sedona, and Mike and Milena are great hosts. The cabins are extremely clean and well apportioned, the bed is comfortable, and the urge to take your shoes off, put your feet on the porch rail, and soak up the atmosphere is a strong one. Plus, if you like chocolate, Mike's brownies are unbeatable (and come in enormous portions). In short, if you're heading to Sedona or just passing through for the night, grab this site. You won't regret it.

The cabins are very clean and comfortable, Mike and Milena are personable and attentive hosts, they even made an individualized breakfast for my girlfriend who has some food allergies. The lush grounds and feeders bring in all sorts of birds, so between that and two private patios and a jacuzzi tub, you could just stay at the cabins for a few days and relax. I could go on, there is so much to like about this place, I highly recommend it! Also, the canyon is still gorgeous after the Slide fire they were still putting it out when we stayed there and it didn't effect our trip at all.

My husband and I honeymooned here, and just recently returned for our first anniversary. It is easy to fall in love with each other all over again when staying here... Unfortunately they were booked the first night of our anniversary weekend so we only had 2 nights to spend in paradise. Where to start? The cabins are beautiful. Just the right size for intimacy. No TV, cell phone connection, or internet. But there are many books and games stocked in the cabin. And a fireplace and jacuzzi and beautiful decks with red rock views... The journals of the previous guests are beautiful. Mostly full of love stories of proposals, honeymoons, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I could get lost in them. Mike and Milena are angels. They truly love what they do. They are helpful without being intrusive. Even we have only had 2 stays with them, they feel like old friends. When there was a miscommunication about our wine tour pickup, Milena was on the phone trying to help get ahold of them. (Remember- no cell phone connection in the cabin) And Milena makes the BEST brownies and restocks them in your cabin every day. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and serene. If you walk a very short distance across the highway, there is a little path to Oak Creek. It is stunningly beautiful. The breakfasts are amazing! It's so nice to have a delicious egg dish with breakfast. Milena made a beautiful frittata one morning, and the next morning a breakfast pizza. I'm a vegetarian so she is sure to accommodate me and make me a very special vegetarian version... You can eat in the front office area, or take it back to your cabin. Great for breakfast in bed... Canyon Wren is perfect for a peaceful and romantic getaway. I look forward to next year...

Our stay in the Honeysuckle Cabin was awesome! The cabin was clean, cozy, restful & had all the little extra's we could need. Breakfasts are wonderful-egg dishes, muffins & fresh fruits, juices, teas, coffee. Great morning conversations with Milena & Mike and other guests. Perfect start for a day of hiking in amazing Red Rock country. Beautiful sunrise on the Red Rocks behind the cottages. Delicious brownies to welcome you. Milena & Mike are gracious, knowledgeable hosts and had spot-on suggestions for trails and restaurants to fit our needs. We were checking out early on Friday morning-not only did they take care of the airline check-in so we could enjoy our last day, but their assistant Caroline brought us a tray of yummy breakfast leftovers because we were going to miss Friday breakfast. Service above & beyond-we will be back!

We were originally scheduled to stay in a cabin outside of Greer, AZ and had to cancel due to a massive forest fire. We decided to reroute to Sedona, AZ and found Canyon Wren after a bit of searching. After exploring their website and reading several good reviews, we reserved a Chalet cabin for 5 nights. Even though there is ample information about the cabins available online, Canyon Wren exceeded our expectations in every way. The cabins were immaculate and well maintained and the property was lush and tranquil. From the very first moment we stepped foot on their property, it was obvious to us that they (Mike and Milena) put ALL of their love and energy into the property. We were astonished when we were told that the cabins were originally built in the 1970's because they were in like-new condition and SO clean inside and out. The courtyard and surrounding gardens were very beautiful and we ended up spending several afternoons outside just to quietly enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. They are avid bird watchers and have placed bird houses and feeders all throughout the property. This lead to several hours of entertainment from dozens of hummingbirds at the feeder by our window. Originally I was a little nervous about not having access to television or internet but we enjoyed ourselves so much we quickly forgot about them. There is so much to do in the Sedona area and it was so nice to come home, cook dinner and enjoy each others company. In retrospect, I'm glad we didn't have the distraction of television and internet. The hosts Mike and Milena were very friendly and approachable. We chose to sit outside each morning (Phoenicians appreciate cooler weather during the summer) to enjoy our continental breakfast and chit-chat with them and other guests. We had many great discussions full of laughter. We felt as if we had known them for years. The food was always good and home made. We brought breakfast food and ended up not eating any of it. The experience was wonderful. We loved it so much we booked our next trip the day we left. We can't wait to return!

Milena and Mike have a done a wonderful job preserving these cute, quaint cottages. My husband and I had never been to Sedona and this lodging was perfect for this area. The homemade brownies on our kitchen counter every day was a real extra treat! Thanks Mike for cooking! We will be back for sure!

We honeymooned nearly 19 years ago at these cabins. We have gone back a few times for our anniversary and have always found it to be a charming place to stay. Milena and Mike are awesome hosts; very friendly, wonderful to talk to and to get to know. There are 3 cabins that have lofts, one that does not. We have only stayed in the loft cabins and the Wild Rose is our favorite and the one we usually try to book. Each cabin has a jacuzzi bath tub, kitchenette, fireplace, bedroom loft w/ a balcony, small patio with a bbq grill. Mike and Milena serve a continental breakfast and Mike even bakes some of the goodies. The cabins are meant to be quiet, romantic getaways. I like the fact they are in Oak Creek, which is cooler than Sedona. They are real close to one of the starting points for the butt-kicking Sterling Pass hike and not far from the West Fork hike. For couples who like to just relax and enjoy the mountains, you can't beat the Wren. On the traffic noise: we don't even notice it. Most nights, the amount of cars going up will start to drop dramatically after 9 pm. Fri is the busiest night on the road and you will hear cars until midnight. But I am able to tune it out and it becomes ambient noise for me. The Morning Glory would be the option to try if you are leery of road noise. The Rose and the Glory are my favorites cabins. In the Rose, "Over the Edge: Death in Grand Canyon" is a must read.

Milena and Mike are about the sweetest owner/operators you could ever hope for in a hotel. As soon as we arrived they welcomed us in and brought us these amazing peanut butter-fudge brownies. Then Milena sat us down and marked up a map for us with restaurants she thought we would like, bike paths, trails, and other points of interest. The rooms are spotless and are all really cute. We stayed in Honeysuckle which had a fireplace (Mike restocks your wood and makes his own cedar kindling), jacuzzi tub, and a nice little kitchen. On one of the days it rained and we had absolutely no problem hanging out indoors and reading books by the fire. The grounds are super cute with a hammock, a swing with little flower lights on it, a fish pond, a few bird baths, plenty of birdfeeders, and of course the towering red rocks above. Across the street there's a nice little creek and Milena showed us how to jimmy the lock on the gate to it. They make fresh muffins and great coffee for breakfast in the morning and you can either take it back to your room or hang out and eat with them. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because of the road. Due to the terrain of the area the only flat ground is at the bottom of the canyon, which means that all the houses, stores, hotels, everything -- is right on the main road. There's no real traffic noise or honking or anything, but there is a constant "whoosh" of cars going by at 45 mph. I really didn't mind it but my fiancee had a little harder time with it at night. Honeysuckle and Rose are closest to the road, so I can't speak for the other cabins. I would totally stay there again and again, but just feel that I had to mention the road noise, even though anywhere you stay in that area will have the same problem. Overall, its a wonderful place and I'm so glad that I got a chance to stay there.

My husband I spent our honeymoon weekend in Sedona Dec10-13 and had an amazing stay at Canyon Wren. Mike and Milena were very sweet. The cabin was adorable and comfortable. We snuggled on the couch in front of the fire and we played games at the table in the kitchenette. We even enjoyed a bath in the jacuzzi bathtub! It was a very nice cabin and very comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and the brownies are out of this world. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked the same cabin for next year on our one year anniversary weekend.
