There's not too much more to say since other reviews have covered it. Amazing, fresh sandwiches. Big, but that didn't stop me from eating the entire thing (and a cookie later in the afternoon). We ordered 4 sammies to go and took them to picnic at Red Rock state park. YUM. If we had stayed in Sedona longer, I wouldv'e gone back every day for lunch.

Check this place! The best sandwiches in Sedona. Bar none! As others have said they are delicious, with interesting taste addition - avocado, pesto mayo, etc. and HUGE - enough for two people. Buy some and take a trip to some beautiful site and have your own picnic. Try the cookies too -a complete treat.

Not good. Doesn't take credit cards, no restrooms, limited seating, and they were out of almost EVERYTHING!!! What they did have was mediocre at best. You're much better off eating at the Wildflower Cafe.

Found out about this place after liking Sedona Monthly on FB. Drove past there once last year, but didn't know what it was. It is behind the main strip in uptown Sedona, and definitely worth a visit. The veggie sandwich was HUGE! We went there the last day of our vacation, and I could only eat 1/2 of it, so I wrapped up the other half and ate it when we got to the airport. We will be going there when we visit again.

Just awesome. Huge sandwich. Homemade bread. Had the roast beef with horseradish and it was killer. I would've eaten more if they weren't cash only. My wife had the turkey with cranberry and it was great too. There was a line out the door and this was Winter.

Before continuing on with our road trip now heading to Albuquerque, New Mexico from Sedona, AZ wanted to go ahead and pack up a few items before heading to our destination. Again, relying on Yelp typed in Bakery, Sandwiches, etc... and BOOM! Sedona Memories Bakery Cafe appeared on my iPhone. Cool, let's try it out. Good thing we arrived before 11:30 because it seem that there were running low on sandwiches available. They offer you 8 types of sandwiches, and quite frankly doesnt seem one can go wrong with either selection. Went with turkey sandwich and decided not tell them how I wanted it prepared and went with there style. Good thing I resisted with my customary sandwich because they prepared remarkably. And they really make your sandwich look as if it was on steriods. Also, try there chocolate chip cookie it is 'ThE BoMb!' One thing that made this place great besides there food is that once he asked for your name, so they can call your order. He remembered your name and treated you as if you've been going there for years! "Thanks Robert, have a safe drive and see you soon. Take care buddy!" If in Sedona again, I will visit Sedona Memories Bakery Cafe!!!!

I came across this site while researching a return trip to wonderful Sedona. Take the Pink Jeeps! However, we were sent to Sedona Memories Cafe last year and while the food tasted okay (service sucked), we got SO sick for two days and then not great the third that I would never go back. We both ate the same thing. When I talked with others in stores and restaurants there, this isn't a first or even unusual. Apparently, puking is a "no charge" serivce at this place. Since the ordering experience also sucked because of the grumpy waiter, we won't go again. The upside: lost a little weight!

Absolutely the best sandwiches in Sedona! And huge! Freshly baked bread and ingredients made for a mouthwatering, and totally filling, lunch. Make sure you get there during their short hours of operation (11-2 M-F?) or you will be sorely disappointed.

I think I must be a picky eater. Everyone in Sedona is going to yell at me for not giving this place 5 stars. But I have my reasons. Because this place should be kept a better secret. The owner gets up at like 3 a.m. to bake his own bread or so the lore goes. By the time we got there about 12:30 p.m., they were down to three types of bread out of the 6 he normally bakes (buttercrust, whole wheat, French roll, rye, 7 Grain, Sesame Herb). There are 8 different sandwiches (turkey, chicken salad, roast beef, veggie, crab salad, tuna salad, ham and Italian) with a couple of daily special sandwiches (the egg salad that day looked amazing on a French roll). Sandwiches are $5.95 each. The kooky guy we asked for a lunch rec said his pregnant wife always got the roast beef at least once a week. And yet, we went with the turkey. I really wanted my own sandwich but my friend thought we should share. I was willing to share the turkey minus the cream cheese on my side. Maybe I should have stuck with what they thought best went with a sandwich but cream cheese with cranberry sauce, swiss (though I think they gave us provolone that day), sunflower seeds, avocado sauce, sprouts and lettuce just sounded gross to me. So I went without the cream cheese. I grudgingly told myself I saved myself some calories so I could taste the fabulous freshly baked bread. Hmm, I picked 7-grain which was surprisingly light and airy. Huh. I want dark, dense GRAINY bread. I'm nutty like that. So...I was a bit bummed out about the bread. But it's good bread, yes, it is...just not what I'm expecting. Still, the sandwich was good. As were the peanut butter cookie we got (just the right amount of sweetness to the peanut butter cookie). They were unfortunately out of chocolate chip by the time they brought us our sandwich on a cute wooden plank (funnily enough, made in Anaheim, CA). Now, why the secrets? Because the dang place ran out of everything by 12:45 p.m.! They told people over the phone not to come over and were turning away new customers. Thank goodness we were able to order our food before hand. Oh, but if you do manage to call to place an order, they give you a free cookie with your order. Otherwise, I think it's a couple of bucks. Lunch was around $12 with the sandwich, a bag of chips, a cookie and two drinks.

Seriously the best. It is cute, friendly, and so good! I get a veggie and cheese sandwich with cranberry sauce. If you are in Sedona you must come here.

Delicious sandwiches, quaint, charming atmosphere, reasonable prices, huge portions. Right near the center of town (behind it), so convenient. Very healthy, and the bread was so yummy. I wish they sold the bread as well. Fantastic all the way around!

    1. Best sandwich in Sedona (get it on the buttercrust and don't change anything, they know what they're doing) 2. They always know my name t 3. if you call ahead you get a free cookie and the cookies are really really good! 4. the outside area is super cute and there are great views 5. the sandwich is HUGE and served on a cute little cuttingboard 6. they have specials everyday * call ahead to make sure they're open, they have strange hours. Don't miss out!!

Just finished camping in the Grand Canyons, driving to California, hungry and listening to DaVinci Code on books on tape (the part where they explain the Masonic connection....again). And this place was an oasis beyond belief. Their selections did not seem very extensive (it was not), but the quality of the sandwiches are amazing. When I first walked in with my natural eternal tan, Gap shorts, Afro and Indiana Jones hat cocked to the side. I can not say I received the warmest greeting by the two gentlemen hanging outside. One had the posture of the owner, while the other was one of a regular. But when I understood that they made their own bread from the smell alone coupled with the choices of bread. I realised that they were like gargoyles guarding a glorious secret This is the BEST sandwich-maker for a state wide radius. Top marks in every portion of the sandwich craft. I bought a loaf of bread for the remainder of my trip that is how good the bread was. I am not a huge salad fan, but thought it was great. The fresh-baked pastries - awesome! This is more of a sandwich to go, but not where you can loiter around as space was available inside of basically two tables. But it is not the reason you will go here. The most expensive salad was around $4 - $5 with Sandwiches loaded hitting me for a max of $6 - $7. Great price and Amazing taste. And by the way. The service was awesome. Run don't walk

Hidden gem. Every town has these laid back joints. Key to success is the small menu, wish other restaurants would take that lead in their menu planning. Ham sammie, roast beef sammie, and the italian.....all absolutely yummy in their simplicity!

  • Ashley J.

We all got turkey and personalized it. No problem. We all loved it. The turkey was amazing! It comes with avocado, cream cheese, cranberry sauce, and veggies, but we can also get just mayo and mustard. Service was great and everyone was friendly. We were told by a local that this is where everyone likes to eat. I know why! We would definitely go again! One warning: the wheat bread is dark brown like what some call rye bread. My kids were mad about this, so if you care about that go for a different type of bread Either way it was tasty!

    (5)
  • Emma W.

Sweet baby Jesus. Gigantic sandwich. So big I couldn't even open my jaws wide enough to get a full bite in. Pretty simple and rustic. Get a choice of bread. I had the wheat which was pillowy and soft. The turkey was fresh and meaty. The sandwich itself is loaded with sprouts, lettuce, avocado, cranberry sauce, cream cheese, and sunflower seeds. The vegetarian sandwich looks awesome so tips for anyone who leans that way ;) Don't forget to grab a cookie of the day. Mine had white chocolate and cranberries! Yum! Cash only!

We stumbled upon this place while searching yelp for food nearby. We are so glad we did!! The menu is small - there are about 5 sandwiches and you can choose the items that will accompany your meat of choice. The have a variety of fresh baked bread. I thought it was interesting that they use cream cheese instead of mayo, it was great. We got the turkey and the roast beef sandwich... the horseradish on the RB was amazing!! THE SANDWICHES ARE HUGE. the biggest thing I have ever seen, I would definitely share one unless you are a competitive eater or you are really hungry. LIKE, HUGE. Yummy place to stop for lunch!

  • Nelly S.

Place has very good sandwiches but they aren't open for very long during the day so plan accordingly or you will miss out. The bread is delicious. This is a nice place to sit outside and chill while doing some shopping in uptown Sedona or after hiking in Oak Creek Canyon. Highly recommend.

  • Holly S.

We really enjoyed this cafe - even our children did! The menu was simple. The food was delicious and the portions were abundant. The outdoor seating was comfortable and cosy.

  • Luke K.

Awesome. Just awesome. My wife and I got a couple sandwiches here to take with us on a hike. Cool little shop with a friendly staff. The sandwiches themselves were amazing and huge and perfect for eating halfway through a hike. I got the roast beef and my wife got the vegetarian. Both awesome. Bread was great too. Definitely seems like a place where whichever sandwich you choose, you win.

  • Robie S.

Best sandwich I have ever had!!! The bread is homemade and amazing. We also bought a cookie and cinnamon roll that are also made fresh there and they were so good!!! I would definitely eat here again!!

  • Lori R.

I went here on a recommendation by one of the local shop owners. Thank you the sandwiches are fabulous!!! I went during peak lunch hour during the week and I guess the locals love it as much because big orders were being picked up and it was a bit of a wait. But well worth it. Don't listen to the other reviews get over it the owner can run his business however he wants if your baby cries take it outside have manners. If he's grumpy don't go back your loss the food is amazing and the portions are huge share a sandwich unless you are starving or eat a lot. I don't think you can go wrong on anything on the menu!! I won't miss this place when I come thru Sedona again!!' I was a little bummed he would sell me a loaf of their bread it was only for sandwiches... Don't miss this place!!!!

  • Carley B.

Sandwiches are HUGE! Definitely can split with another person. It's a "hole in the wall", so don't be scared to try it out based on looks. I would recommend Veggie or Italian sandwiches. ONLY ACCEPTS CASH!!!

  • Angela K.

Not great. The sandwiches are fine, but nothing spectacular. Also, we ordered 3 sandwiches, and mine came on the wrong bread which we didn't realize until we were back at the hotel. We brought the sandwiches back, and without apology, they switched the bread out with the correct bread - they didn't even remake the sandwich. So my sandwich had the right bread, but now no mustard or mayo. But we were hungry and tired so we just left. Wouldn't go back.

My favorite place to eat in Sedona. Delicious and simple...the perfect combination. Fresh bread and ingredients. Was in town for my birthday and am sad that were closed for vacation. Hope you had a nice trip. See you next visit!

Amazing sandwiches BRING CASH!!! leave room for the cookie. P.S. call it in to get a free cookie.

  • Tracey L.

Ginormous sandwiches!!! Cash only place. We went here for lunch and packed the leftovers in our cooler. We had plenty to snack on for the rest of the day when we went off-roading. We got the Italian and veggie sandwiches on the butter-crust bread. Yum!

  • Brian R.

To say the sandwich was large is an understatement. Wife and I split the Italian on a roll. It was about 6" tall and I had to get creative to eat the dang thing. It certainly was delicious, and splitting the sandwich was the way to go. With a bag of chips and two bottles of water we were under $12. Quite the deal for how much food we got and how great it was. Don't forget to bring cash, as that is all they take. We will definitely be back next time we are in Sedona.

    (5)
  • Brenda B.

Delicious, fresh, and fairly priced. Best sandwich in town. They sell out before closing time, so get there early. We paid $12 for half of the quality and size the night before, but our Jeep guide said he always eats here, and apparently so do all the locals. Home baked bread too, on a three or four inch stacked sammie, for $7.75. Mmmmmmm.

  • Nia S.

Huge sandwich for $8 and it was very tasty. Bring cash, they don't take credit cards.

  • J.K. E.

I can only give one star because I couldn't try the food. I went there with friends knowing that they are only open from 10 to 2 on weekdays. We arrived at 1:15 and they were closing up shop because "it is slow". Really? We had four hungry people and they had two customers eating tuna salads outside. We tried to get them to serve us but they would not. Now, I know they have won awards and stuff, but closing 45 minutes early on a four hour workday just makes me mad. No way I would go there again.

    (1)
  • Russell M.

Love their sandwiches (pricey but it's Sedona) and the location. Downside is they do NOT accept credit or debit cards - CASH ONLY which I regard as an inconvenience since I don't carry much cash and I prefer not to visit an ATM in order to eat. So, if you have cash, like good sandwiches and you're in uptown Sedona, go for it!

    (3)
  • Jeffrey F.

The food was five star, but the woman who brought out the sandwich rude and just throws it at you. I must say that the sandwich was extremely great and I love how they put the sprouts in there along with the fact that everything was so fresh and tasty!

  • Julie A.

This is a perfect lunch spot with great sandwiches. We ordered a chicken salad and a crab sandwich - both were DELICIOUS. The only thing I would say is that the sandwiches are large so you may only need one for two people. We both saved half of our sandwiches and had them the next day. :)

  • Rich S.

Big Sandwiches, fresh bread, quick service. No frills! Cash only so don't bring the plastic! Owner is a nice guy maybe he will add a cubano sandwich for his favorite miami patrons? Come here for the best sandwiches in Sedona.

  • Margaret H.

Find a friend to share your sandwich with. They are huge. Fresh bread made daily. Limited seating. I had the chicken salad, others had Italian, and ham. All good!!!

Have been coming here for at least 15 years! Best sandwich I have ever had! Buttercrust bread is delish! If you call in your order, you get a free cookie!

  • Jesse N.

Huge portions! And wow these are delicious sandwiches. Had to get a box to go because we couldn't finish ours. Fresh bread and ingredients, would definitely come back here again. Had a patio to enjoy our lunch outside as well.

Don't listen to the people that have never actually tried the food. Try it for yourself. Excellent sandwich - just a little off tourist trap road. Well worth the visit.

  • Jamie W.

First, I do not like ordering sandwiches for lunch. Honestly, I never, ever will order a sandwich at a restaurant. But, Sedona Memories Bakery Cafe is my one exception. This place is awesome. It is a very small counter service restaurant. You order one of about six sandwiches on the menu and they bring it to your outdoor picnic table. There good music playing outside. The Sedona Memories Bakery Cafe is very popular and crowded, so plan to wait. But its worth it. The bread is fresh. The sandwiches are large, creative and tasty.

  • Michael P.

Loved the sandwiches and they are great value for the money. We had chicken, turkey, and chicken salad. All were great. So are the cookies.

    (5)
  • Dan T.

We read a negative review about the owner's grumpiness. However, we just have to say we had a pleasant experience and a wonderful talk with him this morning. The sandwiches are wonderful and a great idea when preparing for a Sedona hike! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Huge sandwich for ~$7.

    (4)
  • Ashley L.

What a little gem! Our concierge told us about this place as we were headed for a picnic ...not a disappointment! The sannys are huge and everything was fresh. The only thing that kept it from 5 stars is the price...2 sannys and 2 sodas was $21 ...very yummy but a teeny bit expensive for my taste.

    (4)
  • Oulie T.

5 stars for Sandwiches 2 stars for service. The old guy behind the counter was a douchebag. Totally grumpy and inappropriate. You'd think they would appreciate new customers but it seemed like taking our order was a chore for him and the place wasn't even busy. He was short and unfriendly. When he asked if we wanted anything to drink and we said we would share a bottle of water he snidely said "How cute" . Ewwwww what the heck was his problem. The sandwiches saved the place. They are huge and piled on fresh home made bread. Delicious. One sandwich is good for sharing but we each ordered our own and didn't hear any snide comments from the old dude for that.

    (3)
  • Damon T.

This is the best sandwich in Sedona. The place is tasy, laid back, and the sandwiches are big. The guy that we ordered from was a funny and friendly dude. Watch the hours if you decide to visit. I think they may only be a lunch place? But its worth squeezing in if your on vacation.

Excellent roast beef sandwich. Plenty of lunch meat. Delicious fresh bread. Will be returning for the turkey version tomorrow.

  • Brandon M.

Excellent little place that serves heaping, delicious sandwiches on fresh bread. I was a tad bummed that the bread I wanted was out, but the wheat was an excellent substitute. It probably made a better sandwich because of it. I ordered the Turkey, and my friend ordered the Roast Beef. Both were tasty, but the Turkey knocked it out of the park with a mixture of Cranberry, Cream Cheese, Sesame Seeds, Avocado and, well, oh so much more. You really have to try it if you like your lunch on the sweeter side (I do). Staff was friendly, and the ambiance was appropriate for a sandwich shop. Decent view. Lots of smiling faces. I would recommend this place.

Recommended to us by a local. They make all their own breads. Huge portions, incredible bread, great views, and fast service. Cash only.

No website, short hours, cash only, limited seating, fresh baked bread, great sandwiches, friendly service. This place is a local and tourist favorite, but it's a little hard to figure out. The hours are Monday-Friday 10am to 2pm-ish I've heard that they will often run out various items on the menu as it gets later. I've heard the occasionally run out of enough things that they'll close up shop earlier than 2pm. They get really busy around noon, so calling in your order will save some grief, however you won't find a menu online (this was true on in June 2012). To help with this, I posted a picture on yelp with their menu/order sheet. The menu is really simple, and the food is really really good. There are two tables inside, and seven tables with umbrella shade outside, but it's not an actual patio, it's just a marked off area in the dirt parking lot. Is the it worth all the hassle? Absolutely! The food is simple and excellent and the service is very personal and friendly.

OMG! I *love* this place!! I keep going back for their roast beef sandwich, with mayo, horseradish and swiss cheese on the sesame herb bread, very yummy. The roast beef is perfectly rare, exactly how I love it. I kept reading reviews about how big the sandwiches are, so I was expecting something big.... but I was still blown away by how GIANT they are! They are *SERIOUSLY HUGE*! *UPATE* I just had one that wasn't as large as the one that I was referring to, but it was 7" x 6" x 3" with no lettuce and sprouts, that was just meat, cheese and bread, mainly meat. *END UPDATE* More than enough to fill you up for both lunch and dinner or for two people to share. I want to try the other sandwiches, but I just love the roast beef so much. They keep odd hours, but when you serve something this good, you can afford to. The cookies that you get for calling in your order are really good too. Now I am craving another sandwich, but have to wait until Monday *sigh*.

Great place! Was disappointed when i saw it was a sandwich shop, but it turned out to be a must visit destination! Giant sandwiches at a great price with delicious bread and quality meats!

We are sandwich lovers, and this was a great find via yelp. Unique sandwiches, best food we could ask for between hikes in Sedona. We had the turkey & italian on 7 grain & sat outside in the sun, it was great!

  • Jolly M.

Tried this place out while in the area from the Yelp reviews. I didn't realize it was just a sandwich shop. It was maybe O.K. Nothing special and unsure, if I could personally recommend it. Looks are definitely deceiving. Sandwiches are super bland in flavor. I had the turkey, cranberry, cream cheese, avocado and sprouts. It was believe it or not flavorless. Nearest restroom facility is across the street. Underwhelmed by the Yelp recommendations and the overall experience.

    (2)
  • Rich Z.

Excellent quality - nice staff - worth a trip if you want something special. The bread is outstanding. The sandwiches ate large and most can split one and be happy.

    (5)
  • Robert F.

Sandwich is decent, owner was rude to my wife when our baby started crying, he told her to get out of here. Lady taking the sandwich orders was rude too..we had to wait for her to finish her conversation her friend before she would take our order. I about went back in to cuss the owner out for his disrespect to my wife. If you are ever going to visit Sedona go to the Food Court and get a brick oven fired pizza and grab a table our on the balcony overlooking the mountains, we wish we had done that. Views and pizza looked better.

  • Locco U.

Great food, and nice cozy friendly place. I love their sesame bread. I like their Roast beef and Ham sandwiches. Oh, don't forget to grab their cookies! Their cookies are perfect! They are sometime too busy and looks kinda cranky, but overall they are nice, kind, and friendly people=)

Love the sandwiches but be sure to get there early because they run out of curtain breads

Tiny place only four small tables. But the sandwiches are huge! Bread is soft with chewy crust and wonderful. Apple fritters and awesome too. Delicious food friendly fast service

My wife an I ate here last week. My Italian sandwich was delicious. My wife's chicken salad was good, but not memorable. The turnovers we had were a bit doughy and uninspired. This place is cash only. The service was good.

Going to Memories Cafe is practically a must every time I go to Sedona. This place has charm, friendly staff, a free cookie with a phone order... And literally the best sandwiches in Arizona.

  • Anne M.

Great sandwiches! The turkey sandwich was great. Fresh ingredients. Yummy cranberry sauce. Good, fresh baked bread and friendly owner! I would definitely recommend this place to all visitors to Sedona. The cafe reminded me of a unique restaurant that you'd find in New Orleans, a town I know and love. But that's an entirely different review... This is just a few blocks of the main strip on Jordan. Convenient location and worth walking to! Heads up- they are not open that often. I believe they are open from 10-2. The first time I tried to go there, they were closed. I would recomend checking out their hours before making your way over there. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the music was INTENSELY loud, but very staticy... which did not really allow me to relax while looking at the beautiful Sedona skyline out the window. It actually pushed me to sit outside to eat (and this is coming from someone who loves loud music and rocks out at concerts, so don't think I'm a complainer). I was also disappointed because there was no potato salad ready because the owner (I'm guessing) didn't "feel like making it because it was the weekend." He was nice though, and it goes along with the laid-back attitude of Sedona and the Cafe- just a letdown because I am positive that it would have been scrumptious! :)

  • Sedona F.

The sandwiches have always been great, but I stopped coming here because the owner and his employees are usually rude. I think Sedona Memories have realized they don't necessarily need local business to survive . They reside in Uptown Sedona, a tourist trap... so I believe this has led to the bad attitude and poor customer relations I have experienced here. I used to ignore this because I really liked their food and so I would just order take-out. I eventually realized that as a Sedona native I'd rather give my business to friendly proprietor who cares about a positive customer experience. If you don't care about that, the sesame herb bread is very tasty and unique to Sedona's local sandwich industry., butI'd rather head up to Indian Gardens in the canyon where the customer service is always excellent and friendly -and the sandwiches are just a good (except maybe for that sesame herb bread). - SFC

  • Maggie M.

Thought the owner was pleasant but to the point. The bread is fresh and the baked goods were great. I was not impressed with my vegetarian sandwich, maybe it was the mix of veggies with cranberry sauce and cream cheese...let's just say it wasn't my favorite. Note this is cash only. Based on the other reviews I would probably say this a great sandwich shop for carnivores.

  • Chiemi K.

I can say the individual food are good. Like, bread slices are delicious, and vegetables are fresh and really tasty. But, we were unable to finish the sandwiches. We both ordered veggie sandwiches, which had about five inch thickness with half to one inch slices of cucumbers and bell peppers. Hard to eat. Cream cheese, Swiss cheese, and cranberry sauce are too much as a combination. The whole taste as one sandwich was questionable. We may have been able to finish them as a salad and bread on side, though. I read others reviews before entering and was careful to the guy over the counter. He was joking, and it was good talk. No air conditioner in this sumer's painful heated weather, that was a pain for us, too.

  • Nik g.

This place is a joke!!! How the hell do you guys have any business if you're ALWAYS closed!?!? My wife and I live down in phx and we've tried going here twice, first time we showed up about 15min before they were supposed to close, read all the great reviews, pictures and menu looked good. As we're walking up, 1:45pm mind you, they yell out, sorry closing early! We've got plans tonight! Seriously??? Jerks. So ok whatever... That was a year ago, on our way up to flagstaff this weekend, decided to drive thru Sedona for lunch to purposely give this place another chance, made sure we got there well before closing, was around noon. We pull up...oh of course closed again!!!?! Wtf!?! It's noon on a Saturday!!! Thanks for nothing! Nothing but BAD memories from 'Sedona memories bakery cafe'. Don't even bother with this place cause chances are they aren't open!

  • Dee K.

This place was unreal! We were told that one sandwhich was big enough for two poeple, but of course we were skeptics. We were wrong! The sandwhiches are HUGE and everything is so fresh! These are somme of the best sandwhiches I have had anywhere, ever. The price is reasonable. Try the roast beef!

  • David G.

Apparently closed Sundays. This might be a fine place to eat, but they need to have a website with at least their hours on it. [I have read elsewhere that their hours may be only 10-2 weekdays].

I was in Sedona a few weeks ago for vacation and had finished a Jeep Tour, wondering where to go for the lunch. I asked the tour guide if he could recommend any nearby places with uber yummy nom noms (ok, not in those words exactly, this *is* Sedona) and he gave me walking directions to Sedona Memories. I really didn't know what to expect, but, walking up Jordan Road, I saw what looked to be a little house next to a strip mall full of Pink Jeeps being stored. There were a few tables outside and one or two inside. It looks like the other reviews have talked about the types of sandwiches and breads, so I'll just say that I ordered the turkey on the butter crust.... then waited outside at one of the tables for lunch, admiring the natural beauty around me. I have to say that, when the sandwich came, I was really overwhelmed by how large it was! I don't think the picture I took of the sandwich really does it justice (as far as size), but you can see that this is more than just turkey, mayo and bread. Inside of the sandwich, there was turkey, provolone cheese, avocado, lettuce, bean sprouts, bacon bits and (I think) sunflower seeds.... along with some other things that slipped my mind. I had a nice little lunch, munching on my delicious sandwich, flipping through a magazine and also talking to an older couple who was in town from Phoenix. By the end of lunch, I was lucky to finish half of the sandwich, meaning that the other half went into the fridge back in the hotel. I actually tried to go back to Sedona Memories to buy a sandwich for the flight home. However, either they weren't open or something wonky happened, but I didn't get my sandwich (are they closed on Saturdays?) :( Rest assured that, next year, when I'm back in town, Sedona Memories is one place that you'll be able to find me.

Such a lovely little shop with really friendly owners and great (and really BIG) sandwiches. I ordered the veggie, and was impressed as it was probably one of the best veggie sandwiches I have ever had. The bread is to die for and really makes the sandwiches special. Highly recommend to anyone in the area. Can't wait to try this place again.

This is my favorite place to recommend to people visiting from out of town; for anyone looking for a good lunch place, this is THE PLACE. Trying a Sedona Memories sandwich truly is a must. Reasons why I say this: 1. Their bread. They make it themselves everyday. It is soft, thick, flavorful, and has it's own character you can't find anywhere else. 2. Their selection. Every item on the menu is AMAZING. They really have great flavor combinations. I love their vegetarian on whole wheat. Their pastrami is piled high and is delicious. The chicken salad- to die for. Their daily specials- special just about sums it up. Great soups, great cookies, good potato salad. 3. The view. They have one of the best views of the red rocks of any restaurant in Sedona. 4. Their prices. For the price, you get this giant tower of a sandwich. Literally. It's such a wonderful experience that I'm afraid I would ruin it for anyone by telling you too much about it. Just try it, it is truly a Sedona memory worth experiencing.

The sandwiches were great, there's no denying that. We had a turkey and an Italian meats, and they were enough to feed 3 or 4 people. The bread was amazing and freshly baked. They only lose a star because (1) they have restrictive hours of 10-2, M-F and (2) there are only about 4 small tables inside the building. it was cold, and we would have liked to eat inside... instead we went back to our hotel. that being said, I would definitely recommend this place, and come back if I'm ever in Sedona again.

We thought that the sandwiches were ok, but really were expecting more based on the rave reviews. The place is only open a few hours a day and has a pretty limited menu. They were also out of 2 of the about 8 kinds of sandwiches that they offer. The bread is baked fresh at the restaurant which is really nice, but overall, it was just a sandwich. My DH got the italian and it had really big thick slices of green pepper on it which I thought was a little strange. He ended up taking the second half apart and eating it more like a salad which he enjoyed more. The only option for sides was chips, I like to have a little slaw or potato salad or something with my sandwich. There don't seem to be many delis in Sedona, which may be why this one is so popular.....

Delish and sizable! It's a small place a short walk off the main street in town, but oh my were the sandwitches gooooood. The bread was delish plus all the goodies piled high on the heavenly bread... We'll certainly be back and bring our friends over next time we're in the beautiful Sedona.

We got a sandwich from here to take on the road back to Phoenix based purely on the Yelp reviews. I only found one thing from the previous reviews to be un-true...the owner was so nice!!!! I found that he had quite a sense of humor and I would imagine that if we all got up as early as he does and worked as hard as does, we might have our moments too! The chicken salad was awesome btw!!!

From a vegetarian perspective. Somehow this place flew below our radar for 8 years of visits to Sedona, despite being a couple of blocks from where we stay. We discovered it by accident while browsing a magazine and the picture of the sandwich was enough to make us want to visit. The place sits behind the main drag of uptown Sedona in a cute little line of shops up Jordan Road that you would see on your way to the Sedona Heritage Museum. They have a few indoor tables, but you'll want to sit outside so you can admire the beautiful red rocks all around you. We were happy to see a lot of the Pink Jeep drivers eating there (I always trust the locals choice of food). My wife and I both ordered the vegetarian sandwich which consisted of all the usual veggies, plus sprouts, avocado, and a very interesting (cranberry?) spread. We saw the half sandwiches going out the door and they looked more than filling. What we didn't realize was people were splitting their orders. When our full sandwiches showed up we realized we had a second meal for later. The bread was melt-in-your-mouth fresh and the veggies were fresh and piled on at least 4 inches high. Wonderful meal on a warm day. Sandwiches are available in all the usual varieties and looked just as good and filling. Be sure and give this hidden gem a try on your next visit.

This cute little sandwich shop is almost better than the beautiful red rock views in the surrounding Oak Creek Canyon! According to local lore (well, this is probably true) the owner of this sandwich shop gets up at 3am every morning to bake the day's bread. It certainly shows! Literally every item on the menu is fantastic! The only downside is the shop keeps pretty strange hours, so call ahead to confirm whether or not it will be open when you want to go.

Great sandwiches, they are HUGE so they are good to share. The bread was very tasty and i like the cranberry sauce they used. Does not accept credit cards.

We have been to Sedona several times but never stopped in this place. We were looking for lunch on the cheap side and so at $6.95 a sandwich, figured we'd give it a try. We got our money's worth and then some! Huge slices of bread and toppings piled so high, you can't help lose a few as you eat. My parents had the special of the day, a Cuban panini, I had the Italian, my girlfriend went with the turkey. We were unanimous, we had come to the right place for lunch. The only reason I'm docking a point is the guy at the counter was a bit snarky in his attempt at humor and wasn't clear that my parents got the last 2 specials and I missed out. Other than that, make sure you hit the ATM first and get there before they close at 2.

For $8 you get a huge sandwich on fresh baked bread with lots of good fixings. I had the tuna that came with cashews, sprouts, and a few other things, and it was great. I ate half for lunch and took the other half for an afternoon of hiking. They are only open for lunch during the week. A great place to grab and go for your Sedona Adventures.

I was directed here by a young woman at the Torusim Center and have no regrets. I appreciate truly local food and understand that they don't need to be open all hours to give great product and not get too big. As described by others, the sandwiches are enormous and a great value. The quality of ingredients was great- I am a chicken salad snob and it was great paired with sprouts and cream cheese. I wish I had some room for the yummy looking desserts adn pastries. As a foodie, I woudl rather eat great food the locals flock to than any well placed restaurant caterng to the masses. WELL DONE!

In my opinion the bread makes the sandwich, but of course fresh cold cuts and ingredients do to. I was a tour guide that would regularly go through Sedona. Every time i stopped in Sedona i got sandwiches for all my guests at Sedona Memories. everyone loved them literally everyone! he has a variety of fresh baked breads and they are all amazing. Don't just take my opinion as gospel but the opinion of hundreds of tourists i had taken through there. Also take into Consideration this is a small singly owned business alot of times the owner is the only one working and he is only open for lunch mon-sat. he isnt there as a tour guide of Sedona or to hold your hand while you take half an hour to order your sandwich he is there to make you the Best Sandwich in AZ. he dosnt have to treat you like your royalty in fear that you will write a letter to the CEO he is the CEO and he will do his job and make you a delicious sandwich.

WOW!! What a gem! We found this through yelp and since we were just passing through Sedona, hoped it would be worth it to pick a sandwich joint for our one meal there... Well it was!! This was probably the freshest, best sandwich we've ever had on the freshest bread ever. I chose the turkey with everything on sesame (herb) bread- so delicious. Yes, it is a HUGE sandwich but I managed to eat it all. I then ordered a veggie on butter bread to go and it was great too- FRESH ingredients and freshly baked sliced bread. This place is a must-try while in Sedona.

Note: Hours are 10-2 and it's cash only. What is the key part of a sandwich? The bread. The fresh bread here is FANTASTIC. I got my italian on the sesame/herb bread, which was still warm (as if it had just come out of the oven a few hours ago and was cooling). The ingredients were fresh, the meats good, and the bread was very flavorful. Sandwiches are as big as your head. You could definitely split a sandwich between 2 people and not leave hungry. (No skimping on ingredients, but not overly stuffed/large like a NYC style deli). Ingredients are fresh, flavor combinations are delic. A great lunch place in Sedona.

We found this little place through Yelp and agree with the other reviews, it is a great little place. The people were very friendly and helpful and the food was fresh and tasty! We are very glad we found this place. It is only open from 10:00 - 2:00 Monday - Friday, which I say more power to them for being able to achieve a good work/life balance!

very overhyped in my opinion - Food was OK but nothing special. Reviews are obviously slanted by regular local shop people who were abundant and on first name basis with staff. Dingy place with very limited seating (only 3 small tables inside and 3-4 outside) , cash only, limited gravel parking, limited hours (ony 10-2 daily), limited menu, no toilets, ran out of several things well before 1 pm. Drinks are canned and not very cold. Looks to be a retirement hobby business for the old grumpy guy running the place.

Delicious! However they always seem to be out of something! The owner seems to be on his own agenda...not consistent with the hours they are open. Order more food and stay open on the weekends= 5 stars

I have happy memories of the sandwich I had for lunch at this place...and I ate here about a month ago! Great place because it is off the main touristy road, but busy enough so you know it's good. The small outdoor eating area lets you enjoy the weather but if you are in a hurry you can take your sandwich to go. Friendly staff, check Tasty food, check Big sandwich, check Return visit planned, CHECK!

For a casual sandwich place, yes, I'd say this is as good as it gets. We split the roast beef, and it was spectacular. The bread was amazing...so fresh. Def. a good casual spot to grab a bite if you're looking for something fairly quick in Sedona. It's not a sit-down restaurant, but there are a few tables outside.

Truly as good as it gets. Fresh bread and ingredients, the cookie was delicious! Fortunate to be brought here by a local friend, or I never would have found the place. Now that I have it will be my go-to place for a great sandwich. Thanks Mike for a super meal!

Best sandwich in town, no question. The hours and days they are open are limited and they only take cash. Do as the locals do, call your order in over the phone and get a free cookie : ) No sandwich on this menu is average there all great, but my favorite is the turkey. Yum!

Ehh. It's ok. The portions are huge and they don't scrimp on the meat or other toppings but it definitely wasn't the best I've ever had. We arrived by 1:15 knowing they close at 2 and they were already sold out of several sandwiches. We ordered the Italian and the Roast Beef. The Italian wasn't that great and while the Roast Beef was good it isn't something I'd go back for. The value is great but the taste is just ok. I went back in to request a bag to take half a sandwich in and the person working the register was sitting on the porch eating with no inclination to get up and help me. Five minutes later someone from the back noticed I was standing and waiting (along with another patron) and was helpful. Also, there is seating outside but there is very little parking for the actual cafe.

Had just come from a fabulous massage and this was the last meal before heading out of town after an exceptional weekend in paradise. I got the tip on Yelp and so we did the call and order ahead with the free cookie thrown in. This worked beautifully as we arrived toward closing time. I think they are open in the 10 - 2 range. I ordered the tuna on 7 grain. Huge and delicious. You cannot eat a whole sandwich. The tuna was wonderful with lettuce and sprouts and some other special spread with whole cashews and maybe a pesto or something, amazing! I do not know when I will be back, though I will make a giant effort to get to Sedona Memories whenever I am remotely near the area. Thank you for the fresh and tasty sandwiches, the yummy cookies and the friendly greeting! I highly recommend this cafe!
