Great place! Fantastic lox bagels and the pastries are to die for. The service is good. My only gripe is that they don't accept discover card. Other than that it is fantabulous! This is one place where your cravings for sweets will be rewarded with lots of choices!

Need a quick light breakfast? Grab a fresh made NY style bagel. They are a deli also so you can get a variety of breakfast or lunch sandwiches. The croissants are freakin amazing. Great service and a nice clean place to sit and plan the day.

We were in Sedona in early 2011 on vacation and we wanted take out pizza one night. The pizza was pretty good but the hot wings that came with it were a bit of a mess and drenched in too much sauce. The fresh sandwiches that make there are fantastic. The lox bagel we had was pretty nice. We love the pastries too -- great selection. While you are there make sure you check out the signed celebrities photos they have on the wall. I guess many East Coast celebs have to have their "deli" fix while on vacation :)

If you like $4.00 bagels with NY attitude this place is for you. The bagel was thin and had decent flavor... I don't see what all the fuss is about. Place was disorganized and the staff was not helpful.

So far I've had bagel sandwiches there, including egg sandwiches and their cream cheese and lox, a spinach salad, their pizza, a cinnamon roll, their challah bread, their cookies, and some other pastry. I've never been disappointed. I've also never had bad service. Being a New Yorker living in Sedona, I'm happy to have a place where I can get the kind of bagel sandwiches I crave. I really enjoy their pizza, and the last time I was there I met the owner. We've lived in similar places in New York though he's been in Sedona for 13 years now. The atmosphere is comfortable and they have huge photographs on the wall of New York City scenes. I always enjoy the music they're playing as well. I don't have anything negative to say about this store.

Lovely pastries, however, I do not recommend breakfast, as it involves the microwaving of eggs.

Really great New York bagels - the kind that when they are toasted are crunchy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. Had a breakfast everything bagel w/ egg, cheese and canadian bacon (added tomato) and it totally hit the spot. Fast and friendly service, too.

I have been dying for a garlic bagel (and a salt bagel for that matter) since moving here. I really never thought I would find either. Not only do they have these flavors (among many more), the bagels are REAL bagels. Chewy and dense. Totally awesome. I had a garlic bagel with chive cream cheese. Then a salt bagel as dessert. Yummy. 12 year old had a salami sandwich on a sub bun, and he finished it all plus the pickle. Husband had a liverwurst sandwich on a sub bun and wouldn't speak while eating, just sort of moaned and his eyes glazed over. 5 year old had a ham sadwich on whole wheat bread and a pickle. For dessert she got a chocolate chip muffin and ate it all, despite it being gigantic. I got the macaroni salad and it wasn't to my liking, but that's just a personal taste issue, it wasn't gross or bad or anything. Husband said the coffee was good. They do pizza at night, after 4 pm. We will go back to try that another time. The only downside was there were no smaller sized/priced sandwiches for littler kids, and the full priced sandwiches are huge.

After having to rearrange our road trip and not being able see the Grand Canyon because of our so-called leaders in Washington, my wife and I spent the majority of our time in Sedona. As we were driving on 89A, we saw the sign for New York Bakery & Deli, and my wife being from the Bronx and my spending years around NYC, we just had to see if this place was really a NY style deli. Not only was it a REAL NY deli, but at night it served REAL NY pizzas!!! Terrific bagels, awesome hoagies and unbelievable pizzas! We had breakfast, lunch and dinner here, and each and every meal was a real NY treat. Why so good? Well, it turns out the owners Ross and Dom are both from the Bronx, and have spent their entire careers in the bakery/deli business...and they have perfected their recipes. Everything is made on site...including all pastries, bread, pizzas and bagels. This IS the must stop place in Sedona if you're looking for a great NY meal!

I was surprised how good the bagels were here. Ever since I have been in Arizonia I have not had a good bagel. They make the bagels fresh in the store (you could see them being made in the backround). I thought my bagel had just the right consistency...not too fluffy with a nice crispy outside. They also have a ton of baked goods...including real black and white cookies.

Had a craving for a good bagel sandwich and got exactly that. Everyone that worked there was friendly and helpful. They had good prices and fast service(despite there being a good sized line). It is a great breakfast spot in the center of psychic shop and southwest apparel row.

Good Bagel, bad cinnamon rolls, meh coffee...From the east coast, and a bit of a snob when it comes to bagels/coffee breakfast. Go for a bagel (normal sized) and walk to the coffee shop next door for a coffee. Re:pastries, this is an east coast styled place so one of the pastries was a crumb (never liked this stuff) style thing, and the cinnamon roll just wasnt good (14 year old son couldn't eat it). We never buy anything by bagels from a bagel shop, not sure why my husband veered from that while on vacation. But since he did, you are getting a full review....go for the bagels only.

Sucked. Help/service sucked. Cold bagels. With ice child cream cheese .... boys behind counter couldn't be bothered. almost rudest people we found in sedona.

They microwaved the bacon on a paper plate and then served the BLT on the same plate in a pool of grease. Absolutely disgusting! The only reason that I gave 2 stars is because the bagels here are pretty good.

Visited New York Bagels on Friday, July 8th. The food was ok but the service was horrible. Both the cashier and the other person behind the counter were rude. One gentlemen was looking for a cookie without nuts. They said they did not offer them so he asked if there was another bakery close buy that may have them. The man behind the counter replied "I don't know what to tell you buddy" and walked off. While waiting for my order the red headed man behind the counter handed me a plate with an omlette which I thought was mine and he asked if the burrito was mine as well. I said no, the omlette looked right but they were missing a bagel. He rudely ripped the plate from my had, said "this ain't yours then buddy" and turned around and handed it to someone else, AFTER I had touched the food. Maybe the New York attitude is part of the atmosphere but I found it to be a complete turn off. I visit Sedona several times a year and I will never eat there again.

Called New York Bagel because that's how it all began...many years ago,,, The Owner Ross in the last 2 years has added a full NY dessert bakery and a full deli style menu and Pizza .. soups , salads, sandwiches, see the website....http://www.sedonanybagels.com/ Really fresh food and really good service... all locals run this place and bake all the goods. All sandwiches etc. made fresh as you order! Highly recommended for a reasonable fresh meal. They deliver IN Sedona.

Good bagels. Good coffee- not sure why other reviews say service isn't good- I thought they were super nice! I have only been here for breakfast, and never tried their pizza. Lox is a little pricey for what you get.

Stopped in for breakfast, very pleasantly surprised. I had a toasted jalapeno bagel, that was good. I would have liked a little more jalapeno, but overall very tasty. My husband had an apple strudel, huge and a bit pricey, but very good. It should be shared. My son had a cinnamon roll also tasty. The strudel and cinnamon roll would have benefited by being warmed up. We will request it next time. All in all very good. Next time will come at night to try their pizza.

I read the reviews, so thought I would give it a try on a Sunday morning. So disorganized, people standing around, no idea where you go to order. Stood there for over 10 minutes, no staff came to the counter..no acknowledgement or instructions on how to give my order - I left. Never tasted the food...Really get organized, have someone man the cash register..or at least welcome customers!

I was so excited to eat here. I was disappointed. I ended up with the "hoagie" that was basically an Italian sub. They put WAY too much vinegar on it which pretty much made it nearly inedible. Also, the bread, while it looked superb, wasn't. I am not sure what would have fixed it. My gf said her bagel sandwich was fine and she was happy about the amount of meat on it. She wished though she had had it toasted as she found the bagel to be a bit dry. She enjoyed her eclair. I thought it tasted horrible. I did not like my blueberry muffin. At all. I think it needed salt. Or, maybe my taster was off. I won't ever eat here again though you might like it.

I was happy with my Everything bagel w/ Cream cheese and tomato on it. But I can't say that this is the "Best" bagel that I have ever had. That would have to be Goldsteins out in Arcadia, CA (15 mins from my house) But since we're talking Sedona here...this place is great!

Great Jewish deli in the heart of Sedona. Bagels were really good and the service was friendly. They have all your favorite Jewish food...although I was a bit disappointed in their pickles. At night this place turns into a pizza joint which is kinda cool. Spoke with the guy working that day here and was told that you can order and have food shipped (you pay for the shipping costs). Nice spot to stop and have a pastrami sandwich. Yummers.

This was a great place to get a quick, delicious breakfast and coffee. Their bagels are awesome and we took some yogurt muffins to go for a snack later at the Grand Canyon and they were also delicious. The staff is friendly and warm. We liked it so much we went back the next day for a Denver omelet bagel and coffee for our trip home.

best bagels ever surrounded by the the prettiness and grandeur of sedona - a great combination and a great way to start your day in sedona. started visiting sedona in 1980 and i think new york bagel has been around 10 years. it always brings a smile when i am pulling into the parking lot. the coffee service can be a bit spotty - we usually do carryout.

I was intrigued to taste anything at this No. 1 rated restaurant in Sedona, but they were out of napoleons, which were highly recommended, ordered a bagel that was a little on the dry side (maybe it was leftover from the day before. But the eclair was really really good and bought some cookies for grandma back home. I don't see how you can compare a deli with a full service restaurant like Elote Cafe, but next time we'll come when there are napoleons and eat a real meal too.

These are REAL bagels. Light and crispy on the outside. Soft on the inside with lots of flavor. Highly recommended.

We were craving a sandwich and saw NY Bagels and Deli. We stopped in about 20 minutes before closing (they close at 3PM) and I could tell that the employees had already started to close the store and put all the food away. We ordered two sandwiches that were just ok. I had a turkey cheese and my wife had a salami and cheese. We were charged and extra .75 for a Hoggie roll that wasn't even that good. I also have to note that it was expensive. For two sandwiches and two soda's it came out to $20! I doubt I would come back here if I'm ever in Sedona again.

Best bagel I've had in Arizona. This is our new breakfast stop for when we're in Sedona. The bagels were so good we went back and grabbed some other goodies for our trip home.

The actual name is New York Bagels and Deli (NYBD)... We were married in Sedona in April of this year. The B&B where we had the wedding had Ross at NYBD down as a vendor for the wedding cake. I made tons of calls to caterers and bakers in the Sedona area, and Ross stood out above and beyond all the others. He was more personable (I can't believe how many vendors act snooty in a sort of you-should-be-honored-that-I-might-consider-being-a-vendor-for-your-wedding way), more interesting, more excited then anyone else we spoke to. We visited the unassuming deli and sampled cake. OH MY....the absolutle best cake I have ever had. He had chocolate with chocolate filling, which the hubby loved but was too rich for me. A cake with custard and strawberry filling. White cake with a white icing filling. It tasted amazing and the pictures he showed us of other cakes were beautiful as well. By the time we left, he wasn't only doing the cake...he was catering the wedding. His personality and the quality of the food sold us on both. (The price was right too) He made salads, chicken parm, eggplant parm, another kind of chicken, desert trays, everything...scrumptious! The staff was great from set up, serving and clean up. It was a wonderful experience and helped make our wedding day perfect. By the way...we've also been into the deli a few times for breakfast bagels. It's good. I'd say great, but I like the real eggs on my breakfast bagel and that's not an option. They also have all the little desert treats like you'd find in New York bakeries and delis.

If you order the chocolate walnut danish you'll think you've died and gone to heaven. The chocolate is dark semi-sweet with a ground walnut filling with chocolate chips mixed in and sprinkled with icing sugar. Everything is great here...and the patio is away from traffic, dog-friendly...wonderful! only downside is the bathroom that is a jog away and requires a key from the cashier. Otherwise, it's a great place to start your morning!

Being from The Bronx myself I'm always skeptical when I walk in to a place claiming they serve NY bagels. After living in Arizona for many years and eating many round dough products that are not, in my opinion, bagels, I was pleasantly surprised to finally find a bagel that very closely emulates actual NY bagels. In Sedona of all places! I couldn't believe it. The bagels have that hard crusty exterior and that soft delicious interior like they're supposed to. Now my wife and I stop here every time we're in Sedona without fail. For everyone complaining about bad/rude customer service here: I personally have never had an issue myself but if this bothers you, you must not have ever actually ordered a bagel anywhere in New York City. Get over it and enjoy your bagel! Quit whining or just go to Einstein's where the people always smile as they give you mushy bread rings.

This place is one of the better New York eateries around, mostly for breakfast. I checked this place out on a Sunday morning for a late breakfast with an egg and cheese on a sesame bagel. I was pleasantly surprised with what was prepared for me, I normally don't run into a bagel like how they make them here. The pastries and cookies also look really good, I definitely will try some more the next time I return! The employees are pleasant to deal with and they make the food any way you want it!

Surprised they could make bagels with the water being all jacked up! They were great! A few issues. Don't take them home. they get hard real fast! I ordered LoX & Bagels they were really cheap with the amount of lox. I saw more tomato than lox- Also they were using microwaves to heat up the bagels -BIG NO-NO, really disappointed.

Love the pastries! Brand new the croissant donut, delish! And so many more yummies. A firm favorite with my family the Black and White! Thanks to Fernando and Claudia, friendly and helpful.

NOT REAL NY BAGELS... WAY OVER PRICED (I'm a NYer) Maybe if they shipped the water from NY To actually taste like a NY bagel than I can understand charging $30 for two 6 inch sandwiches and 2 slices of pizza. Total rip off. Never again. And service slow and sycky!

Came in about 8am this morning. After we had ordered and given them a nice tip in their tip jar, a woman employee came to the counter with a white bag and my husband went and asked if it was ours. She replied in the snottiest tone "Did I help you?" and then rambled some other rude things - it was such a nasty tone for such a simple question. It wasn't as if he went up and grabbed the bag from her. This woman had grey hair, was wearing a bright pink shirt, and turquoise earrings - avoid her at all costs. The food was below average. We asked for a raspberry danish and the one he gave us was blackberry (even though they clearly had a raspberry one available). The bagels were super underwhelming - the asiago bagel didn't taste much like asiago at all and the blueberry bagel was too hard on the edges. Furthermore, we were considering ordering a breakfast sandwich, but we saw them microwaving the eggs and the bacon. Come on, who pays for someone to microwave your food for you! On top of all this, it cost $12 for 2 bagels with cream cheese and a danish. Normally, I wouldn't care about that, but it's definitely more expensive than usual and the food or service isn't even good, so its not worth it. I would not recommend this place at all! Avoid it!!

Stopped in here on a day trip to Sedona for lunch. I got an everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. Father in law got a sandwich and sister in let got pizza. Everyone got various desserts and we loved everything! The food was excellent!!

Yeeeaaaahhhhhhh, no. We were dutifully impressed with this place by some of the local reviews and super-cool YouTube video where they talk about bringing NY bagels to Sedona. Awesome, right? We were jazzed to try this place; we drove up from Phoenix (not just for this place, thankfully), made a stop here expecting to find a vibrant, jumpin' neighborhood spot. Walked in at around 11 a.m. on a Thurs and..............empty. One guy in a sports team baseball hat slicing deli meats behind the counter. The selection of bagels and deli-style desserts were minimal, to be kind. (For a look at how things are supposed to look, try Canter's deli in Los Angeles.) Family and I weren't greeted. The place smelled like floor cleaner (not breads, or pastries, or FOOD). There was one customer lounging on a cheap chair by the entrance I'm guessing waiting for his to-go order. We awkwardly waded by the case looking at the 3 things available....and finally backwards baseball cap saunters over with the because-I-have-to "help you with something?" Not friendly, more like "go away". Gross. Your "restaurant" smells like cleaner, there is virtually no product on display, and the one employee present during a weekday pre-lunch rush is unprofessional and dressed like he's going to watch NFL at Half Moon. Sorry "New York Bagels", you cannot "help me". You certainly won't be feeding me.

This place is so dirty! We only found two clean tables. The paint on the walls is chipped and the big wheat-paste mural of NY is peeling off the wall. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and my husband got a breakfast sandwich. His egg and sausage were microwaved!! We paid $16 for our meal with two small iced mocha's (which they forgot about). Never again.

Bagels are good and I've been coming here for years, but any business that feels the need to push their political views by having a conservative conspiracy book which attacks the President Of The United States for sale inside in the display case at the counter, has just lost a customer. All for Freedom Of Speech and Expression, but I will exercise my freedom to spend money elsewhere during my next visit to Sedona.

After spending the morning in Sedona touring and walking minor trails, I decided to check this place out. It came highly recommended from one of the locals. Despite being a little busy, they took my order and had it ready pretty quickly. I told them I was going on another hike and they wrapped it up very nicely for me. As for the quality, it was delicious. The bread was nice and soft and favorable. They also put a lot of stuffing, so it was really filling.

  • Michelle M.

Ordered a bagel sandwich with egg, cheese and bacon. I was expecting a homemade egg but it was pre-made square block of egg that they microwaved and they used bright orange cheese, not high quality at all. And there was no honey or natural sugar options. When I asked for honey the girl at counter sneered at me, very rude. Plus the donut was sort of dry. Unimpressed with this place. Many places in sedona were rude- my advice to them, Don't bite the hand that feeds you! Be nice to a fault.

Had a bad experience here. Their sign says they close at 8 but when we went in at 3 they said they were going to be closing at 5. They were out of just about everything and pizza and bagels were down to slim pickings. We actually left without eating and canceling or order. The manager was apologetic, but i was disappointed that they weren't more accommodating. I will try it again at some point and make sure to come earlier in the day.

We were in town for a few days and decided to have breakfast here yesterday. The service from the girl at the front counter was horrible, she was rude and seemed annoyed to even be taking our order. We ordered plain bagels with cream cheese, but my husband ordered a Lox bagel. All night my husband has had sharp stomach pains and has been in the restroom. There is nothing else he ate during the day that could have caused him to get sick but the Lox bagel. This place is dirty inside, and the service his horrible, I would eat here at your own risk.

Absolutely terrible customer service from the woman behind the counter. A shame because the bagels are decent.

The bagels were prety good. We each got bagel breakfast sandwiches (microwaved eggs) which were ok. The lattes tasted like burnt...something. Stick to the coffee. The sevice was disorganized and seemed to frustrate other people waiting in line, not just us. The pastries looked delicious, and if they're anything like the bagels, I'm sure they're great.

I should have had a clue that this was not a place to visit when at 8:15 on a Saturday morning the parking lot (and inside) where totally empty. Our visit began when we walked in the front door, and were ignored. There were three guys busy doing everything except greeting and helping a paying customer. After a couple of minutes perusing the menu (it was quite obvious we were customers), we got a VERY unfriendly "we'll be with you in a minute". It appeared that they were rather inconvenienced that we were standing at the counter interrupting their busy morning. We should have left but didn't. When the guy finally got around to taking our order and paying, he pointed to a sign on the counter and informed my wife that they were going to charge an extra 3 percent if we paid with a credit card, because that's the amount the bank charged. No biggie, .45 on a fifteen dollar order, who cares. My wife works with credit card discount fees, and mentioned that the owner should shop discount fees because 3 percent is kind of high, and the man taking care of her kind of ripped into her. He proceeded to lecture my wife on legislation that allowed small business to charge customers extra when using a credit card, and it was their right to do so. Anyway, two stars because the bagels were ok, but not toasted as requested. The place has an incredible looking bakery, they should be packed all of the time. But when you don't want to go into a place because the help is nasty, it doesn't do any good to have a great product. Simple business advise to the owner. Credit card fees are part of the cost of doing business. Same as water, electricity, insurance, etc. Add the cost into the product an accept credit cards gracefully. It's not like you're selling something that is so expensive that the extra few cents will break a sale. But lousy customer service will put you out of business.

We were visiting a friend here in Arizona and we were trying to find a place for breakfast and thought this could be good. The entire staff was in disarray and seemed to be extremely stressed out and there were 3 of us and just a couple of other people, but we didn't enter in at the same time. The food was microwaved and not very good. I would've hoped for a breakfast better than McDonald's, but looks like that's where we should've gone.

Stood at the counter but the employees seemed disinterested. Got a slice of pesto pizza and my wife got pepperoni. Really greasy and not from NY. Caesar would not recognize the salad they brought out. No need to come back.

This review is for Brides and Grooms looking for Wedding desserts. NY Bagels catered the desserts for our wedding and we couldn't have been happier. Ross was a pleasure to work with and made sure we had exactly what we needed to accurately feed our guests. We had an array of their yummy concoctions and had rave reviews from all of our guests. Not to mention, they made our small Carrot Cake wedding cake - and it was more delicious than I could have hoped for. Definitely recommend working with them.

I previously reviewed this place as simply New York Bagels. This review is for their pizza which a group of us recently experienced. I had tried it once before and was woefully disappointed . . . oily, under baked, etc. This time around, they got it right. We ordered two medium pizzas which are the size of most large ones. We had an Italian sausage and a vegetarian one. I didn't sample the latter but everyone who did seemed to really enjoy it. The sausage pizza was pretty good, certainly much better than the last time which was shortly after they first started offering pizza in the afternoon/evening. The crust was baked nicely, crisp, crunchy, not too thick. The sauce was acceptable and the sausage, so, so. Overall, not a bad pie. A Pizza Heaven in Sedona is still my favorite. Disappointments - no pesto so we had to order an alternative pizza. No parmesan cheese . . . the owner neglected to re-stock. The napkins are like tissues. (They're no saving money with this cheap ones because you use 3 times as many) Minimum purchases required for debit card use. Percentage upcharge for using your credit card . . . come on ! ! ! Nickel - diming me. Pluses - you can bring your own beer and wine which is what we did and sit outside which we also did, so we could hear the live music next door at the Martini Bar stage. Jonathon, our server (and pizza maker?) is a terrific, hard working kid who's been there a couple of years now. Ted and Patsy are great too. I've known Ross, the owner since NYBD opened years ago. Great guy. Good friend. Hard worker. However, he still needs to re-vamp his method of taking orders, preparing the food and paying for it. It takes forever on a busy Sunday morning to get your food. They should have one person taking orders and ringing up the bill while another prepares and serves the food. I've also seen workers kinda roaming around cleaning up instead of helping with orders when there's a line out the door. I also agree with another Yelper about microwaving eggs in plastic Tupperware. Can't be good. Great bagels and baked goods. Decent pizza. Impractical operation.

We were in Sedona for a week and stopped here at least four times for breakfast. The bagels were fresh and the breakfast egg and cheese bagel were really ample size. The prices were reasonable, too. We tried a bunch of their desserts (chocolate bundt cake, Napoleon, bear claws, chocolate croissants, etc)and it was all very good. I bake all of my desserts from scratch with the best ingredients and I'm not easy to please. We even bought some for the flight back to Atlanta. I wished they stayed open a little later since we would get back from our hikes and they were already closed. I would highly recommend them. The only down side is the coffee is not that great so we went two doors down for coffee instead.

This place served me the best bagel I have ever had in my life: garlic butter bagel with chive cream cheese, pre-spread very liberally and sandwiched, then cut in half. Their pastries are to die for; my husband had apple strudel that was so flaky, I mistook it for baklava.

I was interested how poor bagel shop service could be after reading the reviews below. I never knew bagel shops were held to such high standards. Well, the service was not stellar, but I would not run out. Bagels were great, priced reasonably (I'm from LA). I may have been more upset had the bagel guy not been so attractive.

Yesterday we bought bagels, a couple of bialys and whitefish spread and this morning we tried them. Alan and Jim had bialys and neither was impressed. Jim thought his was stale and Alan thought his was boring. He threw away most of it. I had half an onion bagel and it seemed different from the bagels we've bought here in the past. The texture was better than Noah's, but that wouldn't take much. The taste was more white bread than bagel. It just lacked character. I wasn't sure whether the influx of excellent bagels in the East Bay had spoiled me or whether these are truly inferior to what they used to make, but a local confirmed our impression that the quality had changed for the worse. The whitefish spread was generic and tasted fine. Service was faintly irritated. 2.49 stars.

I went to New York Bagels on my first full day in Sedona. I purchased bagels, schmear and lox. It's one of my favorite breakfasts, so I decided to buy some in order to save money on breakfasts while in Sedona. It saved me around $25. The bagel were great, as was the schmear and lox. They had many other things as well, such as a wide variety of desserts which I am still kicking myself for not trying! Also pizza and many deli items. The service was so-so, the lady that waited on me wasn't very friendly. Overall it was a great shop, I was happy with my purchases and I will most certainly go back. Now that I live in Sedona, I go here quite often! There are a few bakery items that I am addicted to and the NY pizza is delicious!!

I was so disappointed. I paid $9 for a sandwich, it was the roasted veggie delight sandwich. The bread was stale and soggy. The vegetables were soaked in a way too sweet and salty balsamic vinaigrette which was terrible. It said it would come with fresh mozzarella, but it came with the thinnest slice of white cheese which was definitely not fresh mozzarella. I also found a couple hairs in my sandwich. I will never be back, it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.

$40 for bagels and coffee for 4 people wasn't really what I had in mind. $4 for a bagel and cream cheese is pretty damn expensive. The guy waiting on me rushed through the order, gave me 2 extra bagels I didn't order and got one bagel order wrong. when I asked for a receipt he couldn't provide it for me. He said he'd hand write one, but honestly that would have clearly taken way more time than the already long wait I experienced with his fresh attitude.

Service slow. Unorganized. But bakery items are plentiful and totally yummy. Coffee just okay. We will get our coffee somewhere else next time and then go for food. Bagels are superb. Other bakery items and breakfast menu are totally appetizing and we can't wait to go back to try more!

These guys give New York a bad rap concerning their bagels.. I'd rather get a Bashas bagel. They also microwave the eggs so they resemble and taste like McDonalds eggs. I would avoid the bagel/breakfast bagel altogether here. My favorite thing about this place is that the coffee is always extremely hot, and you can serve yourself in case you are stuck in a long line and need coffee right away. However there never is a line. I will say the pizza is pretty good if you dont mind paying 17-20 bucks for a pie, and the Cannoli was pretty authentic.. But they need that NYC water, and passion for the bagel to really take pride in calling themselves a New York Bagel CO. I propose a name change to something like, the "Sedona Pastry and Hot Coffee Company"...that would be more appropriate for what they specialize in.

Dominic at NY bagel made our wedding cake for our NYE 2014 wedding and it was perfect! He also made donuts and delivered pizza at 10:30pm!! Everything was perfect and delicious! We didn't give him much insight as to what we wanted with our cake but he took what few details we gave him and ran with them and our cake turned out beautifully and perfect! The cake was delicious and the donuts and pizza were a huge hit with our guests! We contacted him by phone to start and were able to meet with him in July prior to our wedding and did a cake tasting! They are so easy going and stress free and really made the cake process so easy!! We are from California and can't wait to go back to NY bagel to visit and eat!! Thank you guys!!!

I always enjoy coming here when we visit sedona. The first time we had to wait in a long line. They had a lot more help this time and were able to help us quickly. Their new creation is a "crugel" which is a bagel crossbreed with a croissant. If you like pastries and donuts; this is a place you want to stop at.

Their yogurt muffins are the best muffins ever! We always go to NY Bagel when in Sedona for great bagels. Try the pizza in the evenings. Best pizza in Sedona!

Microwaved sandwiches. Yum? We ordered a lox and a reuben but the corned beef went straight into the microwave. We weren't expecting freshly-shaved corned beef from a roast but come on. What a shame because the bagels were very tasty and authentic. Lots of desserts items (the choc. chip cookie was delicious). Verdict: come for the bagels but think about skipping the hot sandwiches.

There are 2 listings for this place on Yelp, but "Bagels and Pizza" is the real name, so that's where I"m writing. Oh my, this is good. The bagels are big and fresh and chewy -- and their cream cheese is generous and more like a slab than a schmeer (as nature intended!) We went there for breakfast 2 times on our vacation -- and both times were incredible. Go for the full breakfast instead of just a bagel/cream cheese -- and give serious consideration to the pastries as well. I don't much like sweets for breakfast, but my husband raved! He also said the bagel breakfast sandwich was excellent. Especially good "everything" bagels -- and a to-go cup for coffee is always a winner. These guys work hard for their money -- and it pays off. The food is excellent. They switch from breakfast to pizza pretty early -- I love places that do breakfast all day -- but if we ever make it back to Sedona, this will be one of our first stops!

Had their hoagie today and was not impressed. Server was not happy to be there. The sandwich reminded me of a high school cafeteria sandwhich. The bread was stale and the pickles were old and soggy. New York would not be proud of this sandwhich.

Meh. I'm from Brooklyn. I suspect These can be day old bagels and about half the size of a real NY bagel.

I cannot believe that I only have one chance to go out to breakfast a week and we tried here! :( We made the mistake of ordering a omelette with ham and cheese with the poorest excuse for hash browns I have ever seen. We ordered a side of bacon to share.. Which came 5 minutes after the greasy omelette. The bacon was inedible! SERIOUSLY!!! The grease could have been pored from the paper plate! The bagels were good but smothered in butter and no jelly was even offered. This is not a good place to sit and eat. The tired decor is scuffed and just seems dirty! Maybe... Maybe get bagels to go! No need to stay! Hey no need to even eat here!

Sandwich bread was soft on the outside and hard under the crust....shouldn't it be just the opposite?? They nickel and dime you to death ( $0.75 to substitute vinegar and oil instead of mayo/mustard ). Meat on sandwich was great...but meat alone does not make a sandwich.

We came with our family to eat breakfast. Average cappuccino ( 2 shot of espresso with no milk ). Ok place not more then that ..

  • Juan P.

The bagel was ok. As good and as close as you can get to authentic NY bagels. The only qualm I had was with a deli microwaving their eggs and bacon. They should have a grill if they're going to be offering breakfast sandwiches and stuff.

Wish I would have known about this place on previous visits to Sedona - it's great! The boyfriend and I wanted a quick, simple breakfast on our last day in town. I ordered a blueberry bagel with cream cheese and he ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon. But while we were trying to decide what we wanted we got totally sucked in by their delicious samples of some of their bakery items. We tried the blueberry danish, cinnamon roll and chocolate chip cookie. We almost went nuts and ordered a bunch of stuff but didn't. Everything we sampled was so good. Our bagels were tasty as well. They loaded on the cream cheese on mine so if you like lots of cream cheese you won't be disappointed. I actually scraped a lot of it off. I'm surprised so many reviews say the service is bad. Maybe we got the one friendly guy but I thought the service was perfectly fine and the employees we saw that didn't wait on us seemed nice too. Weird. We were there just as the brought out the pizzas for lunch. They looked really good - totally NY style - thin crust, big slice. Next time we visit Sedona we are definitely going back to try get some of the yummy baked goods and maybe even try the pizza.

Stopped in for a pre hike breakfast, ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches on a bagel. After my girlfriend got halfway through hers she bit into a twist tie that was cooked into her egg! This combined with the rude service will make us never come here again. I feel sorry for the owner but he should hire someone willing to at least smile.

We stopped in on a whim, having planned to go to another place that was closed. It was a busy Saturday night, and there were only two people working! We ordered 3 sandwiches and 18 wings. The sandwiches came very quickly, but the wings took around 30 minutes. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable.

I love this place! It has great bagels, desserts, and pizza. The pizza crust is fabulous. I enjoyed eating here two years ago, and they did not disappoint on my second visit to Sedona. I will definitely be back!

Had the omelette, hash brown and bagel breakfast. The omelette was good. The bagel was OK and would have been a lot better if it was served with cream cheese, rather than butter. (BTW, who eats bagels with butter?) But, the hash brown was plain awful and was probably a reheated previously frozen patty, or at least it tasted like that. Plus, they got our order wrong. When you add everything up, it comes out with 3 stars.

I have tried to eat here 3 different times over the past year and every time I leave, I swear I won't come back. I have never seen a smile from anyone working there and sometimes not even an acknowledgement for several minutes after you are standing at the corner. Just has a weird feel to it. They advertise slices and not once have had any when I was there (which is understandable if you are super busy) but no one has ever offered an alternative. Like, "I'm sorry, we are out of slices but I could make you a pizza or our sandwiches are good", haha. It's like "nope, we're out" with a blank look. Ok, well I am happy that I did find a great pizza place today that was so easy. It said "slices" we went in, got slices in under two minutes, with a smile and that was that. Perfecto. NY Bages needs some customer service. And slices.

It is a fine bagel place. I bought bagels in the morning and a few pastries, brought them back to the sky ranch hotel and we had breakfast on the patio, enjoying the beautiful view.

It was my birthday so my friends and I stopped in-- just before closing. The slice of pizza was quite good and they were very nice about us showing up at closing time. (Closing time in Sedona is early compared to the Big City.) Hearing it was my birthday they handed me a brown paper bag which I later peeked into to find a chocolate mini cake, for my birthday. That was also very sweet-- in both senses of the word. I'd go back on service and the pizza--the chocolate cake, not so much.

Stopped by this bagel shop on our way up to some hiking. We were not impressed. Service was decent, BUT they microwaved the eggs (not cracked from a shell, maybe powder eggs) right in front of us- in a plastic container! Dont know they know that plastic breaks down and adds plasticizers to your food! PLEASE stop microwaving in plastic-this is very harmful! They also microwaved our bason, and ham. NOT a fresh breakfast thats for sure. The desserts looked decent, but would not recommend this place for bagels/eggs sandwiches.

Good bagel sandwiches plus they have doughnuts and a few pastries. Pretty much exactly what you would expect. Apparently they are open for pizza for dinner now as well, though can't comment on that.

NYBD is just ok - nothing special. They offer basic bagel sandwiches and bakery items and the quality is decent, but the service leaves something to be desired. I stopped in today to pick up lunch and do some work outside on their shaded patio. I had Minnie with me, so I was happy for that. However, there are no outlets to charge your computer inside or out. The pricing is moderate, but if you use a credit card there is a 50 cent charge to do so. (Pet peeve of mine). Again, the lackluster service is what gave me an 'eh' vibe. Sedona as a city has an amazing energy - it's magical in this city. But NYBD should work on their staff a bit - a smile would've been nice... I'll take my business elsewhere next time.

Excellent coffee and bagels. Service is mediocre as the place is slightly disorganized but they make up for it with excellent products. What's up with 3% credit card fees? That is not customer friendly at all. It is cost of doing business.

We stopped here for take out on the way back from a hike. I ordered a traditional grinder on focaccia and my wife had a ham & turkey with Swiss bagel. We also got a dark chocolate "delight" cheesecake/cake and raspberry thing that was delightful. The young guy helping us was very friendly but was much more interested in the sports radio program playing than getting our order right, and the manager was downright rude to some other folks right in front of us. So while the food was good, the service was disconcerting.

Love this place! If you like a little spice in your breakfast get Dan's Special. Your choice of bagel topped with 2 slices of ham, egg, jalapeno and Tabasco sauce! So good i had it 2 days in a row! We met Ross the owner and had a nice chat about his history and his niche in Sedona. Very nice guy. Said we should come back and try his pizza, so we did and it was good. He made it fresh while we waited. You could tell he loves what he does for a living. Rare these days. I will agree with some of the other posts about the poor service. They seemed understaffed and the kids working looked overwhelmed. Don't go for great service go for the great food!

Felt like we were in NYC! The bagels tasted like home to my husband. A favorite breakfast hangout for locals, which is always a good sign! The pastries...forget about it!! They are the BEST. Did someone say low carb--not here, but sooo worth it.

Was looking for a place to have lunch and get some work done - saw the beautiful patio and was drawn in - no wifi ... Umm ok not a working lunch I guess - 15$ for a tiny salad bagel and chia latte ... Umm only kept my cool because it's an expense I can write off - otherwise too much $ and not enough anything else ... Sorry but I won't be back

As others have said, New York Bagels is run by a pack of teenagers and young adults who seemed a little carefree when we visited. However, they still took our orders and promptly made our food, which was more than I expected after reading many of this place's reviews. We ordered a bagels-and-lox, which came with red onions, tomatoes, capers, lox, and cream cheese, as well as a roast beef sandwich. Both were divine, and we scarfed them down after spending our morning hours atop Doe Mountain. The portions were just right here and man were the sandwiches loaded with veggies (hard to find when traveling!). The fresh taste and quality of ingredients were just what we were looking for. Pitting it against Wildflower Bread Company, I am not sure where I'd go back to if I only had one choice, but I know that if I am craving a fresh deli sandwich, New York Bagels is definitely the place to eat at!

Solid deli in West Sedona which offers quality food. The chicken salad bagel that I had was prepared with fresh ingredients and was tasty. This is a good place to grab a quick lunch or something casual.
