They try is all I really can say. Menu is pretty basic, everything everyone else has. Ordered a small cheese pizza, a Reuben and the Italian Mob Sandwich. They gave us 20% off the bill since my sandwich had plastic cooked in it, it was the mortadella wrapper that didn't get discarded when the cook was deli slicing portions.

My husband and I are pretty hard to please. We weren't expecting much based on the reviews, but we were tired and hungry and the kids were about done. So we went across the street from our motel here to eat. Let me say, we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a southwest burger, southwest chicken chicken sandwich, kids quesadilla and burger. My husband's burger was cooked perfectly, the chicken sandwich had good flavor and the fries were good. I got sweet potato and he got regular. The kids portions were very large, but we are not complaining. The live music was entertaining. All in all a good experience.

Food was fine, service was sub-par. Food was hot and fresh coming to the table. Better than bar fare, boilerplate USA cuisine. I had the burger special, and it was good. Wife had the Market dinner salad, which she said was hearty for a dinner salad. The boy had the chicken wing pizza, which was delivered hot, and prepared with a spicy sauce. Daughter (12) ordered the quesadilla off the adult menu, and was brought the child's quesadilla. It said it was good, but this underlines the problems tonight. Service was slow, surprising for a slow Sunday evening. We ordered a starter, which was forgotten; she offered to bring it after our entrees were served, but we declined. She didn't recognize that there were no place settings until we asked (when she was leaving after delivering our meals). Cocktail glass remained empty, until I again asked for another beverage. This place could have been 4 starts. They need to work on service basics though.

Had to see if the reviews of this restaurant were correct as our friend said she liked the place. We decided on a quick lunch. Our server was very nice as we were the only people in the place at the time we got a good deal of attention. The atmosphere was a little on the darker side with a full bar and a stage for what I'm going to assume is evening entertainment. Singers, jugglers, live animals? No idea. We ordered burgers and fries and they were cooked correctly with fresh toppings. Nothing that stands out as a must have but good. We will come back for dinner at some point and update the review.

I can not believe this place has 3 stars. I rarely write reviews but the food here was so terrible, it deserves a write-up. I ordered take-out as this was one of the only non-fast food places open (it was only about 8:30pm). My order was: 2 full racks of ribs, 1 order Calimari, 1 order potato skins, 10 teriyaki wings, 10 Mongolian wings. I'm no stranger to crappy food yet still this was possibly the worst food I've ever had (even the food at the DFAC in my Army days was better). The ribs tasted like they were Frozen and re-heated in the microwave. Truly an embarrassment to BBQ lovers everywhere. I suggest they remove them from the menu. We ate maybe 3-4 ribs total (out of two full racks) and threw the rest away. Having lived in Texas for 4 years, I wouldn't have ever imagined throwing away ribs. Now I'll probably have to spend thousands of dollars and countless hours on therapy just to rid my memory of the terrible taste. At least the ribs came with fries which helped rid my mouth of the microwave flavor. The fries were, surprisingly, not bad. The wings were edible and about average for the south (or just below average). The sauce was good but the wings were soggy. If I had just ordered wings alone, I would've given this place 2 stars. Next up, the calamari. Hands down the worst I've ever had in my 31 years of existence. Were they frozen in a box and reheated in a toaster oven? Probably. Actually, probably not because that would've tasted better. The entire order was far overcooked and we ended up throwing them out. I wish they didn't call it "calamari" on the menu as Italians everywhere now have a reason to be insulted. Lastly, the potato skins. Well, these were your average, run of the mill TGI Fridays style potato skins only with less bacon bits. They were as good as can be expected (note: my expectations for potato skins are quite low). The best part about these was that they seemed to be actual potatoes. Oh, and if you're into sour cream, they come with an entire quart of it on top. Bon Appetit. If you need any additional reasons to avoid this place, just look at their menu. They serve Sushi, Ribs, Burgers, Pizza, Chicken, Sandwiches, Etc. Any place that serves Sushi and Ribs is gonna suck. I should've known better. What's that saying about doing everything and being good at nothing? Well....that. Thanks Marketplace Cafe, for the culinary PTSD. I ended up $120 poorer, eating beef jerky for dinner and it was about 10x tastier.

Stopped in for dinner after a four hour drive. We were seated and waited... It seemed like the server was not told we were there, we waited for a long time! Finally someone brought is water and he got our server. The table was set but the table was dirty. We ordered the Waldorf salad and the Hawaiian pizza. The food is okay, the salad was good a little too much dressing but that's a personal preference. The pizza took about 10 minutes longer after my salad came out. The pizza was good, the 10" is a good portion for one person. I understand the pizza takes longer to make than a salad but it is possible to sync it better to get the food out at the same time. The service was okay too. They were busy and disappeared for a long time. People next to us were complaining about not getting their check. There is live music, it also has an outdoor patio. Bathrooms are around the corner.

Service was kinda slow. I wasn't a fan of the gluten free crust. Though my daughter' same gluten free pizza tasted better than mine.
(3)A. J.
Loud, very loud. We were there on a Wednesday and it was live music night. The music was not good. I had their Long Island Iced Tea, not great. We all had drinks and desserts, none were great, but definately ok. Weirdest part of the night was when some older guy came up to ask how things were and put his hand on my daughter's shoulder and invited her to come inside and join the dancing. Felt very creepy, actually. The waiter Edward was great...engaging and funny. Without him it would be a one star. $50 for 4 desserts and drinks.

Wonderful service, ok food. Our server was so so sweet and accommodating. My stepdad only speaks Spanish and she caught on immediately and conversed with us in español the rest of our visit. Menu includes apps, salads, sandwiches, and pizza. They also have a full bar. It's a very pretty restaurant, too. The food was good, not great. But I've had much worse in Sedona and at least it came out super fast. Their Italian vinaigrette was the best thing I ate there. I think it's worth a visit if you're nearby and want something quick and reasonably priced.

This place has got to lose the "Cafe" part of their name, they are so much more! After a long day of off-roading and site seeing all we wanted was some good food, a cold cervaza and oh, a place that allows dogs. Marketplace Cafe popped up on Yelp and when the directions weren't helpful we called. The wonderful peopl of MPC calmly walked us through how to get there using visual landmarks. We were seated on the covered and shaded patio. The Corona with lime hit the spot, the waitress was genuinely friendly, the food* was really good and the portions were great. The water bowl for the dog was the icing on the cake in our opinion. * Ordered the Tropical Chicken Salad and a TBS, but on whole grain bread instead of a wrap with fries and split both. The salad was filled with fresh ingredients & the raspberry vinaigrette was the perfect tropical touch. The chicken was fresh, tender and the avocado was the perfect touch to the tasty sandwich. The fries were seasoned perfectly and we couldn't get enough of them! I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area (it's in the outlet mall center & in the back corner).
(5)Don T.
The Marketplace Cafe delivers a pretty good pizza! It's was quiet during our afternoon stop and the service was good. It has the feel of a pub instead of a cafe and the furnishings are nice. Give it a try!
(4)Michelle B.
Though we didn't eat, the food looked delicious. The service was great and the atmosphere and live music was very nice! The owner came out and chatted with us and was very nice.
(4)Linda J.
A girlfriend and I went to lunch here last week. It is in a outlet center that has seen better days. The inside dinning area looked good, with a set up for entertainment at night. We sat outside for lunch. My girlfriend ordered the Iceberg Wedge Salad-which came with a wedge of Cabbage instead!! The waitress offered to take it back, but it was not worth the wait. I ordered the Tuna Melt-the bread was toasted, but the cheese slice was cold as was the tuna. Would not recommend going back to this place.

Overall I need to say yelp reviews were pretty dead on with this place. It was ok, at best. The food was blah...we weren't super hungry when we arrived but we both left having ate less than half our meals. I went with my husband while we were staying in town on a long weekend. I got the Caesar salad with chicken; it was ok. Chicken was hot, they said grilled but I didn't see any grill marks. The rest was just fine. My husband got a small BBQ chicken pizza, which was ok as well. The crust was burnt and yet the pizza was greasy and soggy. It had decent flavor but, in sum, it was just ok. We did get sweet potato fries as a starter, those were good. They also came out super fast. The service was pretty good. It took a bit to get the first round of drinks on the table, however they were all over the water refills. The waitress and hostess were also very nice. The ambiance is decent too...they have live music which is a huge plus if you're into that. Be careful though because it's SUPER loud inside when they're playing. The music was good though!! Bottom line, we won't come back because the food wasn't good enough. The menu is all over the place...Italian pastas, salads, lots of seafood (in AZ!!), pizza, burgers, steak, etc... I almost think they should pick one theme of food and perfect it. Otherwise they're a jack of all food trades and masters of none.
(2)Liang Z.
Stopped here on our way to Sedona for lunch, highly recommended. Ordered the BBQ grilled chicken with onion rings and salad, delicious, BBQ sauce was just right. The Ruben was as expected. Service was great and there was almost no one here haha
(4)Nicole B.
Loved the variety of the food that was served. We also liked listening to the live music playing. They weren't too loud so we could socialize. Drinks were good, just good all around.
(3)Don S.
What a disappointment. I live near the Marketplace Cafe in the Village of Oak Creek. and the last time I was at the Marketplace was about two years ago. Sunday night my wife and I decided to give it another chance. I ordered the Sunday special ... three pieces of BBQ chicken with slaw and corn on the cob with either a salad or soup for $15. The soup was OK. The chicken was overcooked, dry and tough. The BBQ sauce was very average. The slaw had no taste and the corn on the cob was soggy and tasteless. I finished less than half of my meal. My wife's pasta was way below average and she could not finish it. Wish they would eliminate half of the items on their menu but do a good job with the ones that are left. Will be a long time before I get desperate enough to try it again.

WTF? This place s like being in an SNL skit. Food, staff and well everthing sucks. But the band and all the old white peope dancing.... WTF? Tonight, I am a million miles away from San Francisco...
(1)Mary C.
Came here for a late lunch on a Sunday mostly because we were hungry and in the area. The exterior is forgettable. The interior is beautiful despite the artificial flowers on the table. The bus boy promptly brought us water with lemon. The "service" went down hill from there. When I asked him something about the menu, his reply was, "I don't know. I'm just the bus boy." Fair enough. It took forever for the waitress to take our order and even longer ( half hour +) for the food to come out. Husband ordered the fish and chips. Daughter ordered the meatloaf sandwich. I ordered the Reuben with a side salad. The food was tasty but the experience was tempered by the slowness of the service. We had to ask for our check and wait ... and wait ... and wait. Ended up putting the credit card away and just left cash on the table. I expected better for the ambience and prices.
(2)Nathan O.
this place is amazing, the burgers are fantastic. The service was speedy and courteous. Plus the live entertainment was great. I highly recommend this place if you come up to this area. Thank you so much for the great service with the atmosphere. Also ask for the prickly pear margarita!

My fiancée and I were staying in Sedona for the night traveling to California. It was late, around 9:30pm and we needed food. We pulled up to this place and heard music blaring as we parked. We were like, "uh oh!", but the vibe inside was actually funny and interesting. The music was live and the covers sounded well done. We were seated by a nice tall gentlemen who was also our waiter. The service from the tall man was top notch, the prices and food were the weakness of this place. The Sheperd's Pie was a messy pile of food in a bowl. I was hoping for a crispy dish, lightly peppered with cheese and hearty pieces of meat. However it was a bowl of what felt like leftovers unfortunately. My fiancee ordered the salmon cake salads and it was fine, but the cakes were loaded with bread crumbs and very little meat. Not appetizing and we didn't finish either dish. The soup I ordered that came with my dish was the Broccoli Cheese soup. This tasted fine if you like Super Bowl dip type dishes, but it was certainly not soup. I like this place, it was fun, but I didn't like my first experience with the food. For $50 I'd like to have enjoyed my meal as well as the experience.

Ordered take out tonight, a portobello burger$12.00 and a veg burger$11.00. The food was ready on time with a fair amount of fries. The slaw was tasteless with really no zest , and a bit watery. The portobello burger was actually slimy and the bread was soggy, so much that it fell apart half through. Now the veg burger was FRIED, who fries a veg burger?? My wife asked it be thoroughly cooked, but fried!!!i like most sedona restaurants, they cater to tourists and people who do not normally return so a lot of effort was not put into this dinner. We used to love this place, but sadly it is going the way of a lot of restaurants in sedona where quality food is not a high priority. Remember that is a $12 burger it should taste like one and have a decent presentation , even if it is carry out!

Slow service. Overpriced, and no bread offered before meal. Food, ok at best...
(2)Henry H.
Very nice food. Service was a bit slow. The live music was too loud for us to sit inside with our 3 kids (age 9, 6, & 2) but was fine on the patio. The staff was very nice.
(3)Sol T.
These folks are not ready for prime time. Very high prices for very medium food and very amateur staff. The bus staff looked like they didn't want to be there. Staff has a lot of trouble producing what was ordered. The kitchen just puts together whatever they can and the servers put it out. 4 our of 5 dishes arrived incorrectly at the table. Each one took a different amount of time to resolve. This meal took an extra hour to get through. Very disorganized business. No concession on the bill even after ruining the evening for us. I suppose there is not much competition in this small town. The bathrooms are out the back of the restaurant and into some seedy public restroom. Don't send kids alone.

We came on a Saturday night memorial day weekend. After in Cafe Elote, we were told it will be about 90 min wait, we decided to try something different. Enjoyed great live music by a band. Sound was great and not too noisy. Service was excellent and personal. Atmosphere is great and romantic even before the music began. Food: they have options for a family for healthy like fish and wild rice to pizzas. This was our pizza night and it was very good. Hey- it's our vacation... Our dessert (vacation) was just ok. We took the martini cheesecake with granola and it seems like they tried to do too much. We should have taken their home made pie. Great place to go to in Sedona.
(4)Jack H.
Great past reviews, present terrible food. I don't know who these people are writing these fantastic reviews but don't buy it.
(1)Sharon L.
Great food and what seems like the only nightlife in Sedona! DJ and dancing after dinner on a Saturday night. Lots of fun, awesome atmosphere- get in here!
(4)Melinda S.
They seemed to be busy and had a little trouble keeping up and that led to so-so waitress service. We didn't have a large order since it was just two people. A chip appetizer that was good and then an order of tortellini alfredo and a wedge salad. The serving size for their tortellini alfredo was huge definitely enough for two people and it came with a side salad. The first wedge salad they brought out had some brown in the lettuce and was missing a few things but they got it right the second time without any complaints.

The hotel concierge recommended this place to my family of five. Walking up it looked sketchy but we went in anyway. It looked like a scene from bar rescue, before the rescue. A bunch of locals sat at the bar being loud. The food was overpriced and bland. The pasta was overcooked and drenched in a bland sauce. The fish for the fish and chips were glorified fish sticks. My wife had salmon and it was the worst piece of salmon I've ever seen with a huge piece of skin down the center. The ribs were ok but obviously pre-packaged. My sons sirloin was OK but not worth $19. The service was decent and the staff was friendly otherwise I would not have given this good of a review.
(2)Chris W.
So me and my family came into town today to start our vacation here in Sedona and after 8 hours of driving we were all pretty hungry. While we checked in, the concierge recommended this place whole heartedly saying this would be best if we wanted something local and was within walking distance. So we figured why not give it a shot, couldn't be that bad right? Wrong. We walked in at 7:00 pm on a Saturday, asked for a table of four and the hostess asked if we had reservations to which I said no. "That's no problem, but we only have one menu right now." I should have turned tail at that lovely information, because it just got worse from there. The restaurant was rather small with live music playing, somewhat busy, but no wait. When we sat down we were told our waiter would be with us soon. The waitress showed up about 10-15 minutes later to get our orders. We ordered 2 chicken alfredo pastas, a burger, and a couple appetizers along with soft drinks. Some time passes and a new server brings us four waters. Okay cool, but where are the drinks we ordered? Took them a few more minutes to bring it out, not a problem it happens, but stuff spirals out of control after this. As we are talking we overhear that another couple next to us had their order brought to them with the wrong dressing and a wrong entree, uh-oh. I shrugged it off again and kept hoping for our food to come out. I watch as tables were served before ours even though we came in way before them. I started to get pretty annoyed when nobody came to check on us or let us know what was going on. Now it's 8 o'clock, and finally a waiter comes out and says we are sorry, but the kitchen is backed up and that we would be next to receive out food and they apologized promising free desserts for all of us for the mix up. Alright I guess that's okay, but again we felt ignored. Finally at about 8:15 our food arrives. We start to eat and I was told the pasta tasted like freezer burn, the wings were dry and again no refills. What the heck. We ask to speak to a manager and let them know that this was unacceptable, the waitress apologizes for everything and says I will go get our manager. Another 10 minutes pass and another waiter notices we were unattended and asked if there is anything we can do, I said, "I asked to speak to your manager ten minutes ago and no one has spoken to us." He said let me go get him and as he starts going to the back I see the manager come out. I normally don't open my mouth when I had bad service, but let me tell you that this was the worst service I have ever had. Before I even say a word he said I apologize, but all of your meals will be comped. I was completely flabbergasted at his lack of concern and sincerity. I said that's great, but I think you should know that I have received the worst service I have ever experienced here in your restaurant. I said, we were seated with one menu, our drinks haven't been refilled, it took 45 minutes for someone to tell us what was going on, the wings were dry, and I felt completely ignored. So he apologizes and says "level with me" and sits down right next to me. I was so furious that he was so condescending and made excuses as to why things happened. He explained it was their busiest night, and their waiters were double booked working both inside and patio. I said I understand you can get busy and backed up, but we were ignored, I didn't even get a refill while people who were seated after us were served and the fact we had no idea what was going on was more frustrating then anything. He just kept blankly apologizing to him and I just had enough, walked out and now I'm writing this review. Never go here, this restaurant and the ownership is a joke. We ended up going to Wendy's down the street and had a much better experience. Unbelievable.

While staying in the Sedona, AZ area my wife and I had dinner here last evening at around 7:30 PM. The place was about half full with most of the patrons in the bar area listening to live music. If you can call the mostly screaming singing any kind of music. I know, it's a generational thing - my parents hated Elvis in the beginning. The food however was outstanding as was the service. We share a wedge salad, which was one of the best we have ever had. They also provided soft bread sticks with a dipping sauce made of garlic infused olive oil, fresh minced garlic, fresh cilantro and a little red pepper flakes. This was so good we are planning to make it for us when we get back home. We also shared some cod fish and chips that was delicious although we both thought it was a little too heavy on the breading. For a hole in the wall in a strip outlet mall, this is a good place to eat, if you can stand the music. My ears are still ringing........
(4)Marilee K.
This was a nice surprise. My husbands meal was a little over cooked, however. I was not very hungry and asked if I could get just a baked potato. Our waiter, Damian, asked if I wanted cheese and bacon on it. It had fresh fried bacon and cheese and only charged $5. A shout out to Damian! We also took a salad and desert to go. Fast and efficient.
(3)Jyl V.
Excellent buffalo burger and sweet potato fries, but a little on the pricey side!! $16.50 for a burger and fries...really??
(3)Brittany B.
This place is truly amazing. We went to their wineaux Wednesday and let me tell you worth ever moment. Wine was good Steve the man serving it knew his stuff. It was a fast and fun environment. Food was good appetizers were perfectly amazing i would recommend to everyone,
(5)David P.
Loved the atmosphere. Live music, good food at reasonable prices and excellent service is what I found...will be back again.
(4)Kev C.
This place did offer a pasta that was vegan. Though they put cheese on it when the order was brought so they took it back and made a new one. Also ask for no butter on the bread if you're vegan! But good service, interesting live music and good food. Also, the restroom is outside of the restaurant, kinda weird but i thought I would mention it.
(4)Deb F.
We found this place while on vacation and loved it. The staff was very friendly and the food was very good. Both my wife and I had the filet mignon and they were cooked perfectly. On another night we sat at the bar and had drinks and appetizers. Most of the apps were great. However I didn't like the sushi. My mistake for thinking you could get good sushi in Arizona. They have a fantastic wine tasting deal on Wednesday nights. Check it out

Service was very good. John the bartender was very helpful and attentive. Pizza was excellent! This.is a very nice atmosphere but casual is fine here too.

We had headed to the Oak Creeks Outlet to do some shopping, and we dropped into the Marketplace Cafe intending to grab a quick snack because my youngest daughter was famished (and getting grouchy) after a day of playing tourist in Sedona. Expecting the typical outlet-mall type of fast-food joint, we were surprised to find a nice, classy-looking establishment. The decor was Hollywood nostalgia, with old movie stills covering the walls. A silent movie played on a flat-screen behind the bar. When we stepped in, a small group of well-dressed women were drinking wine at the bar, but the restaurant was otherwise empty. We were promptly seated, and after looking over the menu, decided to have dinner instead of just a snack. Our waiter, Justin, took our drink order and returned with a plate of fresh bread sticks and another plate of garlicky/spiced olive oil, which we greedily consumed. Justin was nice enough to bring us more bread. We ordered the garlic fries as a starter, which was crisp and well covered with garlic. For our entrees, I ordered the Roasted Pork Verde Stew, my wife had the Grilled Liver and Onions, my oldest daughter the Four Cheese Ravioli, and my youngest the Shrimp Pesto Pasta, a pretty good variety. Their entrees came with soup or salad, and both daughters had the cream of brocolli soup, which they said was delicious. My wife happily saw that her dinner salad consisted of field greens, which she absolutely prefers over lettuce. The consistency of the stew was a little thinner than I expected, almost soup-like. It came with four small tortillas, and when I ordered the dish, I envisioned picking up chunks of meat with the tortillas, but the meat is shredded and the stew is a little too liquidy. I ended up rolling the tortillas and eating them like bread, dipping them into the stew. The stew was savory and slightly spicy. My wife said the liver & onions was tasty, although she thought the liver might have been previously frozen. It came with real mashed potatoes that were really good. Both of my kids liked their dishes enough to take their leftovers with them, and they finished them off the next day for breakfast. All in all, the food was very good to excellent. As Mitch mentioned, they had some nice variations on classic dishes. The service staff was prompt and attentive, although maybe it was because we were the only ones in the restaurant. The Marketplace Cafe is located at the south end of the Oak Creeks Outlet Mall. Sadly, there are way more vacancies than stores. If you're looking for a bigger outlet, there's one about 90 miles south, off I-17, at the Anthem exit. But if you're in the Sedona area, this place is worth driving to just for the food.
(4)Adrienne M.
The food was fresh, flavorful and well-prepared. The service was friendly and attentive. The only drawback was the horrible live music. It was not only bad, it was also very loud. We chose to sit outside where it was less of an issue. I would recommend this place for the food.
(4)Nina J.
My family and I stopped for lunch here and the food was great. All six of us ordered different menu items and they were all very good. The restaurant was clean and the service was fast. Not the best views in Sedona but good food and quick service.
(4)Traci C.
Tapa's Menu was great! Penne' for sure! Squid was a 10 according to my 7 year old KC he ate the whole plate;) Happy Hour from 4 to 6, staff was amazing, place; quaint, lush, sexy yet we can take the kids there, my kinda vibe...

Barely three stars. Alan found this on TripAdvisor, where it was given high marks. The three previous Yelp reviewers gave it 4 stars. Maybe we hit them on an off night. The restaurant is located in the outlet mall east of Oak Creek Village on Highway 89A. It's been there since 1997 but we've never known about it until this afternoon. We were greeted and seated immediately, a few tables back from the stage where Vincent Z, a Frenchman who sings there on Wednesday nights, was holding forth. He has an excellent voice and delivery. I enjoyed his French and Spanish songs more than I did his American ones, although he did a creditable job on "It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got that Swing". By himself he's probably 4 stars. We sat unacknowledged for a while until the woman we presume is the owner came by and asked if our drink order had been taken. When we told her it hadn't she sent our waiter over. I ordered a glass of Rosenblum Syrah and Alan ordered water. We ordered calamari, which we knew came w/ tentacles. It was delivered w/ three dipping sauces, a marinara, a white sauce and a soy sauce based sauce that was very tasty. The person who delivered it gave us no introduction to the sauces. The calamari was delicious, crisp, hot, not overdone. The sauces were good too, particularly the soy sauce based one. When the runner picked up the empty plate we asked what the sauces were. He said the white one was a lemon aioli but neither of us tasted either lemon or garlic and the sauce was runnier than aioli we've had before. For our mains we decided to share a half rack of ribs and shrimp w/ linguine in a basil pesto sauce. Both came w/ small salads which we had w/ blue cheese dressing. The ribs were tender and flavorful. They were accompanied by fries and coleslaw. The shrimp were large and sweet. There were six of them. The sauce bore no hint of either basil or garlic. Bread had been delivered w/ a spiced olive oil. The bread was tasty but odd in texture. It looked almost like bread sticks but was soft and w/o body. The dipping sauce was flavorful enough that I suggested Alan add some to the pasta to give it flavor. He did and it helped. The fries were crisp and good, the coleslaw was just OK. Service was charming but indifferent. Alan had to request his water be refilled twice. We were both disappointed, as we'd been prepared by the TripAdvisor and Yelp reviews for a better experience.

We did take out from here last night and it wasn't even edible. I had the meatloaf, which was dry and seemed like it was at least a week old. Mashed potatoes were tasteless, mushy peas. I ate 3 bites and threw it out. My husband had ribs and they were also far below average. The homemade chips were the only thing we had that was decent. Will absolutely NOT go back here. Gross.
(1)Dana S.
Prices are pretty spendy, but we got two pizzas to share for 4 people and it wasn't too bad. The Marguerita pizza is delicious, I would definitely recommend it.
(4)Mitch G.
Based on one visit I can mostly say, I will CERTAINLY return here for several reasons. 1. There was an awesome French house band playing regularly on a Wednesday night who featured an international music repitoire. These guys did everything from Caribbean Isle music, to Gypsy Kings, to old school movie ballads! They ended with a classic Ukranian song on this night. I was mezmerized. 2. Their extra effort to make all their items on the very large menu just a wee bit different but not too far from the classic approach is admirable and quite tastefully done. I noticed that even a request for mayonaisse to accompany a steak Frites meal, was met with a return option of two types of mayo...standard and their blend. Try their blend. 3. The service here was a bit laid back, but I feel they read their customers well. So, our table was in no real hurry and there were others who were needing a faster pace, and they adapted. 4. Calamari with tentacles. Enough said. 5. There is a not puffed up warning about their hot wings. Not for the weak, THIS IS TRUE. I loved them as hot as that! PERFECT! No one else with me could eat them! HA! All mine!! Just a warning. 6. The place is open late night for those indecisive patrons who were silly enough to not make up their minds earlier and potentially jeopardize having a real meal. And there really is something for everyone at this place.

A great local find when in the Sedona area. The food is plentiful and reasonably priced. The servers are friendly and helpful. It is always on my list when in Sedona.

I recently spent a weekend in Sedona and found Marketplace Cafe. I was extremely impressed by the staff. I was also very pleased with the food. The cooks know what they are doing and how to do it right. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to others that are passing thru Sedona and no doubt come back the next time I visit.

Food was decently good. My boyfriend and I went and shared the southwest chicken sandwich and buffalo burger. Not an extensive menu though. The burgers were good and I got mine with garlic fries which had just the right amount of garlic. Service I would give 1.5 stars. We were greeted and brought drinks quickly. But took a while to put our orders in. It took over 20 min to get our food. I think the waiter noticed me looking at my phone for the time because we were given complimentary breadsticks and seasoned olive oil dip. It was good too. Once given food however we were never checked on or asked how our food was. Our server just asked if we were ready for the check at the end and took forever to get asked for our check and to get our check. Luckily we were chatting it up with a couple next to us. Finally after paying and were given the check book back with our change, it was soaken wet! Gross!! who wants to touch that? Oh well at least the food wasn't bad

Disorganized staff although lots of people were working. It took a LONG time for our food to come from the kitchen and when it arrived, it was not hot. We toughed it out on one dish but sent the other one back to be heated. It took SO long again, we asked to just have it canceled. The manager did remove the item from our bill and offered a free dessert but the whole experience was not very satisfying. Live music was enjoyable but doubt we will return. There are many other great places to eat in Sedona.

Local Res. Went to wine o Wed. 1/2013. Sat at the bar noticed many of the regular staff and bartenders have changed. Never once did bar guy intro himself. Wine samples were very good. Typically tapas menu have been good. Ordered calamari which has always been a fav. Bar guy delivered. When we ordered it was after tapa menu price which was ok so got full order. Came to us very dark v goldenbrown. Tasted and it was burnt. Told bar guy this wasis burnt and unediblethe. if this was simply over cooked I'll take another order, however if due to over used oil forget it. He came back with another order which looked better but half the amount. A tapas order of maybe someone didn't finish there's and we got it. We finished paid the bill and as we were leaving an order of calamari was sent to another table. Heaping golden caring brown. Say what?? Discussed with mgr who happened to be close by and he said he saw both our orders and what could he do to make it up. I said u could have stopped itbefore it got to us. Bar guy could have not delivered. Where's your standards quality control. Not going back and won't recommend mpc again. Very disappointed as we live about 3 miles from it.

Excellent service. Thea and Autumn took care of our table. Love their bread stick and garlic olive. If you're ordering a salad go for the house made tequila vinaigrette. I had the spicy sausage penne recomended by Thea and it was so yummy.

The food was really good but the environment was just ok. We didn't really like the decoration or the music playing. But that's not as important to us as the food :). I got the portobello mushroom wrap, which I really liked. My boyfriend got the chili and sweet potato fries, which were ok. He also had half my wrap and liked it too, which is saying something because it was vegetarian and he's a big fan of meat!

Ok, so either we were pathetic, or just liked some good food at a great price because during our recent trip to Sedona, we ate four meals at this restaurant. Breakfast is awesome. And, if you are like me and are on eastern time while visiting out west, you wake at the crack of dawn Arizona time, which means you can scoot into Marketplace and get a $4 breakfast before 8am. It is a pile of food too for $4 - choice of meat, choice of bread (some very tasty like the raisin pecan), potatoes or fruit and eggs. The fruit comes piled in a small bowl and you definitely go away full. Plus, bottomless coffee for $.99 is tasty and the waitstaff was friendly and helpful. It is also basically right across the street from the Hilton Resort, so it is a great alternative to the hotel restaurants and you could even walk there. We ordered pizza to go one night, it was alright, but continued the trend of freshness. The menu for lunch and dinner is large and there is a quaint little patio out front. It is kind of hidden, tucked back into a shopping center, but the quality of the food and the prices really made it stand out.

My husband and I were in Sedona checking out my in-laws new place. They had told us how fantastic this restaurant was, so we decided to check it out. Our first sign should have been that the restaurant was located in the outlet mall. The decor was nice, old hollywood, but the restaurant was SO small. I had to use the restrooms and saw the sign above a large door that looked like it led to outside. Turns out it did,the bathrooms are on the OUTSIDE of the restaurant. Looking at the menu- not many choices, and pricey. Granted you are in Sedona so you are expecting to pay more for your meal, you can find much better prices somewhere else (ex : oak creek brewery). Wine was 36+ dollars a bottle. We googled the real value of it because we were curious, of course you can purchase it at a liquor store for around 9 dollars. Needless to say we did not have wine. All this aside, we were still really wanting to like marketplace since the in laws spoke so highly of it. We had the garlic fries for an appetizer- which were superr thin and crispy with hardly any garlic on them ..Yuck. We ate them all anyway because we were starving after hiking all day, but my husband made a comment that he would have preferred McDonalds fries lol. By this time our waiter had already messed up our order by giving me the wrong salad and not giving my husband one at all. We weren't too worried about it because the salad was terrible. My husband had chicken alfredo and I had crab cakes. These are both one of our top dishes that we order at restaurants. This was the only time in my restaurant experiences that I have actually sent a dish back with the waiter. The "crab cakes" were obviously pre frozen "fish" matter...think of similar quality as Long John Silver's fast food "crab cakes". They were completely awful. I took two bites then had my husband try them who agreed with me, so we sent them back. My husband did not enjoy his alfredo either, and hardly ate any, but said the garlic bread was really good. I give them points because they did take the crab cakes off of our bill, without me having to complain or say a word other than I did not want them. However, there is no way we would ever return to this restaurant. Good waiters could never make up for how terrible the food is!

Ordered the Beef stroganoff, it arrived with an unappetizing brown gravy/sauce and exactly three small pieces of beef. The expensive but very good drinks doubled the cost of our very ordinary dinner.

This was one of the only places near out hotel that was open late for dinner. The waitress was alright, she came off a lil abrasive. She wasn't as friendly as one would expect. The band playing was entertIning. The food was decent, the sweet potato fries were yummy! The decor of old movies was inviting. The dessert choices were ok, unfortunately no non-dairy items. It was an ok place. I may go back if I get another waitress

Excellent. Food, service, drinks, music (just the right volume) to relax, enjoy and indulge. Relaxed, yet classy. not pretentious at all. My kind of place.
(5)Elaine S.
This is one of the few places we found open for late-night dining in Sedona. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, but the food left us unimpressed. My husband's mahi-mahi was dry and tasteless, and my appetizers were unmemorable. This place is more suited for live music and happy hour than fine dining.
(3)Laurie B.
This place is such a find. I loved it. The food was delicious food and the service was excellent! The steaks are yummy
(5)Toni M.
Had 7:00reservations and did not get food until almost 9:00. The soup was ice cold and the fish and chips for 20$ had 4 tiny pieces of fish and a few fries and coleslaw. Will not go back again.
(1)David J.
Wife had onion soup with bread sticks. The soup was cold and the cheese on top was not melted. Soup was tasteless. Bread sticks were OK. I had the chicken wings. Not very hot, temperature or spice wise. The water and beer were OK. Price was OK.

Sorry but only 1 star. I have eaten here before and would have given this place 4-5 stars, however this time, the service was poor, the food was mediocre at best and not as good as last time. We also ordered the vegan salad and part way through found a large pile of ham underneath the lettuce. Definitely won't be back, which is a shame because my first experience here was so good. Looking at the other reviews, it seems that consistency is the issue here!

We arrived in Sedona, after a 8 hr. drive from LA. Checked in and next thing you know, it was past 9 P.M. The concierge recoimmened the Marketplace Cafe/The Restaurant. A small place with live entertainment. Tonight music by Anthony Mazzella. We started with the calamari and I thought that was just ok. But the main courses were fabulous. I had a crab/shrimp salad with a tequila lime dressing. So yummy. My daughter who is very finicky had the cheeseburger. It was delicious. My daughter's words, "this is even better than In and Out". and it was, no comparision. My son had fish and chips. So so so good. For dessert we had the biggest piece of cheesecake ever. So light, so smooth. It was a great meal and I highly recommend this place. Apparently, the hotels have a coupon for it too, a little mad at the concierge for not giving it to us. But at least she gave us the recommendation. If you are in Sedona, this is a great place to eat.

We came from out of town and were drawn in by the good reviews and variety. Sad to say that this place was disappointing. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo, which was bleh, (that cost me $18), my friend ordered a burger, which he says was "just sad." And my boyfriend had the Spicy Penne. Everything was bland, it was boring, and for an average if $15 a plate I really expected more. The garlic bread was good, but if I wanted to go to a place for garlic bread I would have gone to Domino's. Go somewhere else, the food here is overpriced and tasteless. Good thing we didn't order drinks or we would really have been upset. On the plus side, the waitress was very nice, she was patient and helpful, the place was very pretty, and very fancy, it didnt really go with the name though, I was expecting a different ambiance completely. But hey, it was nice.

Low key, which was nice. Live music! Not overcrowded. 3 stars due to table, utensils, and glasses not very clean.
(3)Bill H.
10/27/14- good tasting turkey wrap. stopped for quick takeout after hiking around bell creek and crested butte loop. Quick service. Meal was just what we wanted-light dinner... but the menu had full dinner choices as well. Get the Sweet potato fries.
(4)John L.
John L. As with other reviews, we found service/server excellent & attentive. However, food was mediocre, at best. My wife ordered the almond crusted trout. Trout tasted very 'fishy'/'old'. Server, without hesitation, offered to replace dish. Because my wife really enjoys trout, she asked for another serving. Result was the same. My wife even had me try it to ensure her taste 'was not off'. Trout tasted unusually 'fishy'. My dish, tortellini w/sausage, was average....two steps better than Chef Boyardee. The piano player/singer was entertaining.

Staying in the area for about a week and halfway through the week we stumbled on this gem. Live music both nights. The price is pretty darn good. The pasta was really good and the burger was alright. I'm easy to please but I had a great time. The service the first night was better but no complaints here just a good time
(5)Rich H.
We had dinner here last night. The service was great and our waiter was very nice and attentive. There was a lot of variety in food selections, we ordered chicken strips, which were great, fish&chips and ribs, both very good. Another plus was that the portions were generous, with salad/soup and sides included. Prices were very reasonable and we would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.
(5)Sheridan S.
I'm gonna have to go with "meh" on this one. My server was great and very nice, but the food was overpriced for the quality. I stopped in at the recommendation from the hotel I was staying at and it was within walking distance.. I probably should have done some more searching and gotten back in the car, but I was tired, dammit. So I had a burger with the house made chips and a glass of pinot noir. I left full, but unimpressed.

We all had excellent dinners. Our kind waiter...and the cook...let us mix and match to get exactly what we wanted. Excellent food and service.

This was our first experience of food in Sedona, AZ. We dropped off our bags in our room at The Ridge and came here on a recommendation from the Concierge after our 8 hour road trip from Los Angeles. If I were to rate this place on JUST Service, I would give it a 4+ (the server and people in general are the nicest, attentive people)...... but rating it on the FOOD, I can't go higher than a 2. We were starving and ordered (to start): - Sliders (I am a huge fan of Sliders and if a restaurant has them, I usually order them just to try them.... and i was not blown away at all. Super plain taste. meh) - Mongolian Beef (was also ok, wouldn't order again) - Edamame (seemed like it was straight from Costco, but was actually the best thing we ended up eating. simple edamame. kind of says a lot) - Mussels (did not like at all) After trying these, we decided against ordering anything else... except alcohol. DRINKS: After spending over 8 hours on the road, I needed a good, strong drink. For me, usually there's no better drink than an Old Fashioned. I ordered one, and I can honestly say it was the worst Old Fashioned i have ever had. Really disappointing. I ordered a beer after that one to wash the taste down. Not a good sign for a full-bar place. The "Live music" turned out to be a DJ who was playing 90s songs, which was actually pretty awesome. People were dancing and it was fun to just people watch at that point.

Great little restaurant in a stripmall - worst "outlet mall" ever. We grabbed a quick lunch on the way out of sedona. Very confused decor - almost asian looking with black walls w dark wood and red, paper lantern fixtures, but Hollywood movie posters and memorabelia all over the place. We had a couple sandwiches - grilled chicken breast w bacon, avocado and a goat cheese aioli and the days special Buffalo chicken sandwich. Buffalo chicken was just ok because of the bread, supposedly a baguette but it was more of a dense roll. Grilled chicken was perfect butterflied chicken breast w herbs freshly grilled and topped w couple strips of bacon, avocado slices and little chunks of goat cheese w aioli and a side of warm homemade potato chips. Pricing was decent, quick friendly service.

We had a really fun time at this restaurant. The wait staff is super nice and very attentive and the owner was pouring wines for the Wed night wine tasting and having a good time with customers - many of whom are obviously regular attendees at this weekly event. The place has a very artsy and intimate feel and you are like a member of the family as soon as you walk through the door. The food was good, not great, but certainly good enough. The appetizers and deserts we ordered were the best part of our meals. The main courses (fish & chips for my hubby and filet mignon for me) were prepared well and tasted fine, but I think it's really the atmosphere that people keep coming back for.

I went there with my family a few nights ago. They had a guy playing the guitar and singing. It was good not over the top. The food was very good everything we ordered was good. We would go back. I saw an order of the fish and chips after I ordered my meal next time I will order the fish and chips.

MPC is as great as it gets!!!! Whenever I visit Sedona, I head here for their Wineaux Wednesday. The atmosphere is soooo much fun, (often with a live band) the wine-tasting portions are extremely generous and there is a great deal of variety, and their appetizers are delicious and not overpriced. It's a great time for a reasonable price. The employees are always lovely though it can get very busy, (which will slow down the service in any restaurant). But if I lived in Sedona, I'd be here every Wednesday. There are a lot of fun locals at their Wineaux Wednesday, and everybody is warm, friendly, and having a great time. And Steve, the man doing the wine tasting pours, is very personable and knows a lot about wine. This is the place to go to in Sedona if you are looking for a great time. If you are looking for a depressing cafe with bad poetry on the walls, this isn't your place.
(5)Dustin H.
Gustavo was our server and he gave us an amazing experience! The food was perfect in every way, the atmosphere and ambiance was absolutely perfect. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough, we don't have great experiences when we go out to eat often, when we do I want to scream about it from the mountaintops!
(5)Jacquette G.
We got into town a little on the late side and were hoping for a local place to eat. I went to yelp to find somewhere that served latear in the day. The location is a little off-putting as it is in a small strip/outlet mall. Don't be shy - go on in!! We walked in and it was more than half full at 8:30 on a Thursday night. There was a musician playing live music (which was so good we bought his CD), and great ambiance. Our server was prompt and friendly. We placed our orders and sat back. The bartender came over to personally tell us they were out of mango for the martini, but made suggestions for a substitution and was very friendly and helpful. Problem solved, we waited for the soup. Our server came over next with the bad news that they were out of the soup, but suggested the chili instead. We asked for a sample - YUM!! We ordered the chili instead and it was deliciously obviously home made. The pizza was also fab with artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, etc. So big we brought half of it home with us. When the bartender came over to ask how the drinks were and we gave it the thumbs up, we re-ordered another round because they have a second happy hour from 9-10 where drinks are half price!! All in all this was probably the best eating experience we had in Sedona. We tried to tell everyone in the wedding party about it that was staying long enought to eat somewhere outside of the function. Would definitely recommend and definitely go back.
(5)Jenna H.
The burgers were good. Slightly understaffed and slow but it allowed plenty of time to sit on the sun and relax!
(4)Mel L.
The pizza was mushy and sort of disgusting, the other items were merely okay, but what really put me off was the waiter. There were two of us dining that evening. He did not welcome me, he did not look at me during the entire time, and instead directed everything to my male dining partner: "Good evening SIR, I'm blahblahblah and I'll be taking care of you this evening...SIR, do you need anything...Have a good evening, SIR". So, he got half a tip.
(1)Dena R.
Lots of fun, salmon on the menu, and a delish stout. Live music on Friday!
