Solid food options with decent prices. Was with people who had the reuben, french dip, roast beef melt, steak sandwich, kids meals. Everything was good althogh the roast beef was a bit tough, the bread was good. The floors are a bit sticky and the bathrooms fine. Friendly service - they knew the kids would want their meals first so they made sure they got those orders out first. Very responsive service.

We had breakfast here. Servers were friendly. Food was great, best pancakes I've had in a long time! Decor is really cute. My three year old just loved going to the bathroom as she loved how it looked. We will be back for breakfast!

Love the food and atmosphere! Service is always friendly and responsive! Breakfast is very reasonably priced and you get a lot of food! We also love the waffle fries! Luckily they have extra seating outside bc the place is small and always busy!

I wish i could give this place more stars. It has really good potential and has been good in the past for us. However, we had some family in town and we suggested twist and shout since we had a good experience last time. But when we went with family, we were there almost two hours! They didn't get our drinks right, and when we told them what it should be, they still didn't get it right. I ended up just sharing a drink with my wife. Our food took at least 45 minutes to come out. Some of the fries were partially frozen, one of the burgers was still cold in the middle, and my burger looked like it was kind of cut up and falling apart. The waitress asked if we needed anything else and a few of us wanted some items and she just started walking away and i tried to l say i also needed ranch, and she didn't acknowledge. In summary, we have had good experiences in the past, and the food has been really good, but it seems to be hit or miss.

When we first came to this place a couple of years ago it was amazing FRESH food and cooked well but the last couple of times have been BLAH.... We came a couple of months ago and I ordered a Philly Sandwich bread was stale :/ I asked for fresh bread and that came out just as bad, oh well maybe it was a bad day??? No me thinks not we returned again this evening for the very last time, the service was awful waitress comes out with a huge piece of candy in her mouth so when I was asking questions I couldn't even understand her reply, not once was asked if our food was ok (which it wasn't but i will get to that in a minute) no refills on our drinks (in the end I had to call over another waitress for refills, and a take out box for my kids fruit (only thing worth taking home) seriously its not that hard to make sure your customers have what they need... Now to my food I ordered the sirloin steak Platter (firstly it should prob specify in the menu you dont get A sirloin steak its ground beef made into a patty, I asked for it to be cooked medium and it came out burnt you could see it was burnt and defiantly taste it was burnt, the meal came with bread which once again was stale, and the side was mashed potatoes ermm more like potato salad it was chunky pieces mixed in with mush.... All in all our meal was a disaster and I even feel SICK now after attempting to eat half of it in this economy going out for a meal is a treat I am very unhappy we wasted our hard earned $ here next time I will drive 10mins in the opposite direction and go to Buffalo Wild Wings... We will not be returning and I will not be recommending this place to ANYONE. I hope management reads this review and makes some serious changes FAST...

Decent food, attentive service. Homemade onion rings are the winner here, but too bad you only get 5 for 99 cent up charge from other sides. I found the roll on my chicken sandwich rather stale but it was edible.

Boy, I felt like a real kid here - midday, and lots of snowbirds, I guess, and locals. But the food is good, and sheesh, the onion rings - spectacular - crispy all the way to the end. Burgers were great too. Love the 50s vibe, and the waitresses have cute "names" - like Liz Taylor, etc.

I have only had the burger and it was good. Service a bit slow, but very friendly and nice. Will be back.

horrible to say the least. the people next to us ordered the philly and the guy that served it to them said .. "the meat was kinda tough huh" they agreed and only ate little bit. I ordered a hamburger and mashed potatoes. what a mistake my burger came with no love at all it was tough and the bun was cold and not grilled. the mashed potatoes were so bad I had only one bite. they came cold. the gravy was god knows what.. the potatoes were a bowl of chunks and mush. no consistency. I will not go back to this terrible place husband ordered a blt and it sucked as well.

Pretty quality diner food and the burgers are real patties (a little greasy) but definitely hand formed there. The atmosphere is very fitting and the service is always terrific. I tend to get burgers and fries and the occasional onion rings which have been spot on every time.

Recently ate here with my mother, and we were not impressed. The first thing mom noticed is the place is not all that clean. There's a dingy, not quite clean, bordering on grimy feel. The food was overcooked (we had grilled sandwiches), and the fries soggy greasy. Service was slow, none too friendly. Sorry, can't recommend it at all.

My son and I went here this morning for the very first time and I will say it will definitely not be our last. What a gem. Service was amazing, food was awesome and it was priced just right. We have tried other restaurants in the area for breakfast and we were very disappointed. Twist and Shout, you have two new fans. Thank-you.

A little bit better than last time. Service was good, food was okay, worth giving another try. Ice tea was good, a lot of places make it in a coffee maker but these guys don't do that, so that's a plus.

I had a delicious blt and yummy fries. My husband enjoyed his burger and onion rings. Cute place, nice staff. Next time, I am planning to save room for dessert, cause it looked good!

Good burgers and reasonable prices. Unlimited fries make it a great choice when taking the kids.

Food is hit or miss. Been coming here for a while but today was my last time. Coworker and I went in and I had a hair in my pancake and she had a fly smothered under strawberry topping on her waffle. No apology from the staff and no offer to discount or como the emails. Convenient location. Neat decor and pretty cheap but today's gross experience and lack of acknowledgment ended it for me.

We have come here a few times before and decided to bring family from out of town. We sat out on the patio and should have known from our first interaction with our server that it was going to be a difficult lunch experience. We ordered lunch and sat waiting for our food. We waited almost an hour. The steak sandwich meal was still frozen in the center, the fries were soggy and cold, the burgers were warm but not hot. The food in general was disappointing. If you add in the server we had that was confused and obviously overwhelmed by a table of seven, it was a very disappointing lunch date. We told our server our food wasn't as we expected and she didn't really show much concern. Guess we won't be going back here.

Service was great and I love their decor. I had the special which was a catfish sandwich and a side of onion rings. The catfish was great but a little weird as a sandwich and the onion rings are some of the best I ever had. My partner had the wolf man witch is a steak sandwich and he said it was excellent and cooked exactly as he ordered witch was medium well but he thinks medium would have been better.

This restaurant is fun, has great food, very reasonably priced, fun assortment of burgers to meet the 50's time period. They serve alcohol, also reasonably priced. If you have any issues with your meal they will fix it for you. Only issue with this place I believe is the location. It's definitely on the small side, even with the outdoor patio. Try their milk shakes, burgers and fries are great also. I would go back.

Awesome atmosphere and delicious food! I have sinned there 3 times for breakfast lunch and dinner (not all in the same day) and all tree times the food was great! Service was friendly and quick which adds to the atmosphere and me dinning there again!

This place is a small 50s style diner that is clearly well used by locals. A bubbling jukebox is a focal point, aqua walls and checkerboard floor with tons of Hollywood pictures and even a mock radio station playing in the background make it feel McFly enough. The tiny kitchen is a wonder with barely enough room for the cook. Orders are being slung at a fever pitch. Service is fast and frenetic. Though we were there for dinner, there appears to be a full bar available. This is a true, dyed in the wool greasy spoon. While the decor is cute, We found the food to be seriously marginal. The baby's Dino buddies (billed as Flintstones on the kids' menu) were so overcooked and hard that she just played with them like small toys. I got the BLT but, I probably wouldn't get that again. My husband and sons got burgers. I knew my husband didn't enjoy his burger because he actually removed one of the patties. The onion rings and French fries are pretty good and I noticed someone carrying a huge bucket of fresh cut potatoes from the back when we arrived. I would suggest cherry cokes and the loaded potato skins appetizer to potential diners. It's not for lack of trying that This 50s diner falls somewhat short as a family's rare "night-out" destination. What the food lacks the atmosphere and cheer of the staff sort of makes up for making it more suited for after-game team grub and maybe even a fun place for egg creams on a whim. Overall the place feels dingy. Maybe a new coat of paint, maybe a thorough scrubbing. So much ephemera makes the already small place feel cramped. The incredible flow of patrons suggests that a major expansion and/or remodel would benefit this clever little joint greatly.

What a great surprise! It's not easy ordering a salad when you are with the group ordering chicken fried steak, burgers, grilled cheese... But that chicken Caesar salad was fantastic! Maybe top 5 I've had and I've had a lot! Fresh romaine, great dressing. Loved it! And I've never seen my four granddaughters eat a dessert so fast! First experience with a banana split and it was an epic one! Thanks for the good time and the good memories!

The first time we came to Green Valley we found this place and thought we had a jewel. Tenderloins just like Missouri, good burgers, shakes and a 1950s atmosphere. Really fun. We would go every couple of months. Then we heard there were new owners. Tenderloins were off the menu and things started going downhill. I was really jonesing for burger on Friday and we decided to go to Twist and Shout. What a mistake. The burger was unevenly cooked, unseasoned and tasteless. The fries were limp and greasy. When the best part of the meal was the side of cottage cheese you know it is time to move on. I can see no reason to darken their doors ever again.

I've eaten at this place three times over the span of three months. Each time the service was okay and the food average. However on the most recent time, and last time, the service was poor. We ordered two chef salads and the server failed to mention they were out of hard boiled eggs until we received the salads. (Had she mentioned it we would have ordered something else) When we asked the server about the missing eggs she stated they were still cooking. We waited ten minutes and asked again if they were done. She did not realize we wanted the eggs and would check on them. Long after the salad was gone and twenty-five minutes later we received our eggs and the check. I noticed we were charged full price for the salads. (I did not expect a big discount but it would have been a courtesy to take something off) When I mentioned it to the on-duty manager, she directed me to the owners and blamed the fry cook for the eggs.

Onion rings are amazing! Bacon in the blt was perfectly cooked. Thumbs up on the steak sandwich. Fries were just ok. Overall worth the visit

Good food. Always good service. My son loves the goober burger. Very relaxed and family friendly. My kids love to go here.

Average is about all I can say. The burgers were good, but the ratio of meat to bun was disproportionate. There should not be 1" of bun around the patty. If the patties were bigger would have rated it alittle higher. Also they should invest in a bun toasting machine, or at least put it on the grill as a cold bun does not make for a good burger. Service was good and friendly, but food was just.....average. Have lived here for 6 years, was our first time and we might go back sometime in the next 6 years.

Great food and fantastic service. We usually go for dinner with the kids, but we tried breakfast for the first timelast week and it was just as good. They evendid and Valentine's night dinner that was as good as, if not better than those fancy places charging 5 times more. Thanks Greg and Amy!!!!

Lots of good ingredients, not always prepared to our preferences. Rueben needs more sauerkraut, thinner cut meat, less gristle. Turkey sandwich tastes like home cooked thanksgiving leftovers. Would like some veggies on it. Dont care for their fries, but if you pay a lil extra the onion rings are great.

The best burger in the area - by far! The chef, Popeye, makes them juicy and rare. Hand cut fries and good dill pickles make this a meal to write a review about.

This place is ok. We end up going fairly often because of the lack of restaurants in Sahuarita. They seem to take advantage of this. Examples: the mcdonalds like hashbrown pattys, and the weird not homeaid gravy. They only serve breakfast until 11a/12p depending on the day. My daughter always wants pancakes when we go for dinner, it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to make a pancake after hours but whatever. Also, I think the kids meals are overpriced -- the pb&j and 1 side is over $4 which is pretty ridiculous. On the other hand the waitresses are always really nice and have always been accomidating when we wanted to sit outside or move tables.

The same folks have opened a new location across town called the 19th Hole Bar & Grille (q.v.). It does have a burger with blue cheese. Otherwise it's got similar food in a larger space and no 50's kitsch.

Awesome food! Great fun place. Just wish the staff was more friendly and didn't seem annoyed to have another customer walk in.

I had a pretty disappointing breakfast there a few days ago. I had to send my eggs back twice because they were not cooked the way I ordered them. I ordered them over hard and twice they came over medium. The second time I sent them back I heard the cook say "Geez, does she want me to burn them for her?" No, I didn't want them burned, just over hard!! Any good cook knows how to cook an egg over hard. I asked the waitress if the hash was homemade and she said yes. I seriously doubt it's homemade. In my opinion it was canned with some bell peppers and onions thrown in. I've been here for lunch and the burgers & fries are good, but go someplace else for breakfast!

This place was not easy to find from the highway, they could use some signs on the main road. Employees were very nice and thats why they get 4 stars. Food seemed average at best. I had the All-You-Can-Eat catfish, nothing special and only 2 filets at a time. The Onion Rings were very good though. I guess its just an average diner with some very nice employees.

Great food & service. The pancakes are large and impossibly fluffy! The bacon is thick cut and delicious. There is something for everyone on the menu. Everyone is very friendly. This was a highlight of our visit and we'll definitely be back!

  • J. A.

Normally, fantastic service doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. The drinks never got more than half-empty, which is a fantastic thing except when you're being charged 50 cents for each refill because you had a flavor added to it. Multiply this by every visit to the table and that small charge really adds up to almost five dollars just for refills to the drinks. Worst part was that this wasn't disclosed anywhere on the menu. It just said 50 cents, not 50 cents for each half-glass of soda. Food can be really great or fairly poor, depending on time of day and cook available. There isn't a lot of seating except during the summer time because of the outdoor seating available then. Service is always excellent. I'd avoid the waffles as the batter is "off". However, the omelets and home fries are excellent. The burger with peanut butter on it is surprisingly awesome. You have to try it to believe it.

Nice to have this place in Green Valley. The owners are great and the food is good enough. The night chef comes up with some sweet specials. The staff is awesome.

Was looking to see if there was an actual diner and was surprised to find this place in a shopping center. OK, I won't hold it against them. First, the service is excellent and friendly- its apparent that they work hard at it.. Decor is fun and nicely done- poodle skirts and everything. I had the corn beef hash with eggs over easy which was very good- you'd be surprised with how many cooks don't do eggs over ez well. However the "old fashioned country potatoes" looked and tasted like something out of a frozen bag. I picked them over the 2 hash brown patties because they sounded like frozen Ore Ida like patties. Country potatoes are chopped up fresh with onions and bell peppers- at least that's how I make them and have had them at other eateries. They have made the business decision to skimp on breakfast potatoes, ok- next time I'll get the fries- they at least looked like the real thing.

My husband stumbled upon the Twist and Shout when giving my visiting mother a tour of the desert. They had lunch and loved it. We later went back on a Saturday night for dinner and Karaoke. The atmosphere is fun, the food is terrific, the staff is awesome! The desserts are home made and fabulous. It was really refreshing to be in a "mom & pop" establishment where mom and pop are there and really care about what you think about your food and experience. We loved it, our kids loved it. We will be back!
