By far the best breakfast and lunch spot in the downtown area. Employees and food are always top notch. My favorite items are the soups and bear claws. A must if you are in the downtown area. You will not be disappointed!!

We have been staying in Prescott Valley for the summer and every Saturday morning we make the trek to Pangea bakery. They have chocolate croissants to die for, excellent quiche and turnovers, and very good coffee. They also have very good soups for lunch and baked loaves of bread. They also have a very friendly staff and good service. I highly recommend Pangea bakery if you're in Prescott, AZ

Got the Sonoran sandwich on the whole wheat sunflower & flax bread and it was realllllyyyy good! I split the whole sandwich with someone and it's plenty of food for two people. The girls that worked there were very nice as well! Definitely recommend eating here :)

An ode to blueberry pie Oh, the blueberry pie So subtle, so smooth, So true, so berry blue. Have any of Pangaea's pies and leave smiling. I'd post a snap but the whole pie is eaten. And, the lattes are good and the coffee strong. Five juicy plump stars!

Recently had their split pea and ham soup as the tomato soup had ran out. Now I'm not typically a fan of split pea but it was super great! What really delights me is the taste of quality ingredients they're using. SO good. And their cups of soup are as big as a bowl.. At a great price as well.

Tasty Roast beef. Loved that chocolate cookie. Want to try the brie and fig next. That sounds delish.

Bland pastrami on rock hard rye. Expensive for what you get. Horrible atmosphere and service. Never returning.

Ate peach turnover and pesto veggie pizza. Both were ok. Also ordered iced green tea of some sort. This involved hot tea that you pour into a cup full of ice. Needless to say, that diluted the already dilute flavors of the tea. I did not try the breads, soups, or sandwiches, which is what the place is raved for, so I can only speak for what I ate...

Gotta love the jalapeño cheese bread baked on Saturdays only! Pastries are very good-ambiance needs a make-over. In my opinion, this bakery has the best pastries and bread in town!

Please note there were reviews under the name "Panagea" too, and they ain't too flattering, either, so I apparently am not the only one who had this experience. Also, there are many negative reviews that have been "filtered", you can read them, just check on the "Read Filtered Reviews" at the bottom on the page. Stumbled upon this place with hubs, looked promising, lots of folks looked to be enjoying breakfast so we decided to give it a try. Totally unorganized service, uncaring downright rude guy at counter, no welcome, no thank you, and Attitude (yes, with a capital A) too, like we were bothering him or something. Hubs orders a cafe au lait, note this is a CAFE , and the guy at the counter acts like he never heard of one, huh? Then, he says, "Oh no we're not doing that", when hubs tries to order breakfast off the menu. Not, Oh we are out of that, sorry, no explanation whatsoever... Just not doing that. Mkay.... Honestly if I was standing there with him, I would have marched right outta there. But hubs is a sweetheart (and was hungry) and went with it. We sat outside and though they brought us the food(ham and cheese croissant, breakfast panini) , but we had to get our own silverware and bus our own table. And ya, hubs got Attitude again, after he (kindly) asked; I was ready to leave our dishes there on the table. Croissant was good, panini not so great, the bread was just so-so. Coffee was rather bland. Expensive for what you get. But the guy at the counter was the worst. The waitress-baker-owner, whoever she was, wouldn't win any customer service awards either. They seriously do not deserve the accolades in my opinion. Crap Attitude towards customers is just never okay. Plus the confused identity, like is it a cafe, restaurant or a take-out bakery? Make up your mind if you are offering full service or not. Won't ever return, NO ONE disses MY hubs!!!!

This place is awesome. We love everything they make. Seriously. Everyone who works here is super friendly. I especially like the veggie croissants, the chocolate croissants, the pizza, the meals they prepare for holidays, and the fruit bars. But really, you can't go wrong we anything. The breads are fantastic too, especially the sourdough, the rolls, and the spent grain bread.

A great find off the beaten path! We passed by this place and looked in with our noses on the window...a must do before we headed back home. Nicole (the owner) and another guy behind the counter were both so warm and friendly. I wish I could take them both back to Phoenix! You just have a feeling that Nicole is really proud of her creations...just look at the pastries! My hubby quickly decided on this humongous flaky chocolate croissant and regular fair trade organic coffee. My little cutie pie only wanted iced white chocolate drink they made for him. I had the Mocha Latte...yummers! We also picked up one of the most delicious glutten free loaf of walnut raisin bread, croissants, morning muffins and blueberry coffee cake. They gave us a free loaf of wheat bread for Father's Day...so sweet of them. I heard they also make some mean sandwiches here. They are worth the couple of hours drive for lunch!

Nicole is an extremely good baker. Her bread crusts are perfect. Her quiche, pizza, sandwiches, parfait, cakes, pies, danish, are all better than anything you find in Prescott so far as my experience informs me. Pangea was named one of the best Arizona breakfast and lunch spots by Arizona Highways. The coffee is the best in town, and Nicole always personally takes my dog a biscuit or two when she knows he's tied outside.

Great bread, lousy service! You might consider getting a salesperson who knows what she's selling.

A MUST for beautiful breads, soups, sandwiches and desserts. Most of the negative Yelp reviews for this place have no idea how much Pangaea Bakery gives back to the Prescott community. I know because I lived here. And this is why it remains not just a popular place with the locals but a business that makes the city a better place to live. Perhaps the negative reviewers from out of town came here with their rushed 'big city attitudes' and the staff caught on to this quickly? Lest we forget smaller towns run at a slower pace. And quality can't be rushed. What I know is that the work here begins before most people get up in the morning. Quality comes with a price and the staff and owner are paying that for you with the work that turns out this awesome locally made quality food. In Prescott, AZ. THIS IS WHERE TO GO for your awesome comfort foods from a breakfast quiche or their incredible healthy sandwiches to the specialty breads and soups made daily. Oh, and did I mention their off the hook desserts displayed in a bakers window so it will make you feel like a kid again? Highly recommended!

Ordered a 1/2 pesto mozzarella sandwich with the house salad. Very very good! The pair at the counter were really friendly. I regret not purchasing a loaf of bread- they had so many different kinds and they all looked so good. The only major downer was that I ordered a slice of pie to-go and later discovered the bottom was very undercooked. Practically still dough and I threw it away. Strange because you'd think they'd have noticed too when slicing/ packaging it up.. I'll give them another shot next time I'm up there bc my lunch was great but will look closer if I order pie again.

So glad I found this place. Im a bread-head and eat here all the time. Sandwiches are tasty and made fresh. The desserts are serious willpower testers. The sandwich/soup is perfect lunch deal. Yummy! Copolla is the way to go.

A wonderful treat. Great breakfast, lunch, coffee & breads. Prescott is lucky to have a European-style authentic bakery. I think they also use organic ingredients... Everywhere I travel, I hope to find a bakery like this, it's down-home, friendly and the food is delicious, especially the sandwiches!

This is a typical bakery. I got a loaf of fig and walnut bread. The bites with the fig are good, but the rest of it is very tasteless. I didn't get a sweet treat but they did look amazing. The guy who worked there is okay, he didn't really seem to want to help at first but when I was super sweet to him, he became nice, too.

A friend of mine was telling me how good the sandwiches were here so I decided to give this place a try. Unfortunately, I never got the chance to order because as I stood there waiting for 10 minutes, no one asked me if I was being helped. I wish I could tell you the reason was because the place was packed and buzzing with the vibe of people enjoying their food . . . no, there were basically 2 customers there. Myself and another lady who was buying some bread. I called over to the cashier and she barked at me to wait . . . longer . . . no problem, I got the message that I'm not wanted as a customer. And yes, I showed myself out and plan on never returning!

Fresh baked breads and pastries..mmm mmmm. You have to have the jalapeno cheese bread, it's fantastic. Seems they offer all the fixings for picnic if you want to pop by, fill your basket and set up to a relaxing location.

I have read reviews about the owner of this bakery that were not very complimentary. I have never met her. What I do know is that this place is unreal. I drive from Scottsdale to just go here. The best apricot pecan bread, the bake goods are like nothing I have had here since I left the East coast. Their pies are wonderful, the cherry pie is full of fruit and the best crust ever. Wish we had this bakery in the valley. Keep up the good work!!!!

I and my friends have eaten lunch at Pangeas a countless number of times and have always found the food to be of the highest quality. Each patron is given their due time when it is their turn to order and food is almost always promptly delivered and beautifully presented. I personally find the bakery to be a warm and inviting and the breads are fantastic. The owner is extremely hard working and conscientious and I have never experienced her as anything but friendly and helpful.

I am a huge fan. There, I said it. I won't be shy. To start with a favorite is like trying to pick your favorite kid. So let's start with breakfast. Oatmeal is amazing. (that sounds like a weird statement, so let me say it again) The Oatmeal is amazing! Beware it feels like it comes in a bucket the serving is so big. There is Pangaea's own granola, fresh fruit like apples, blueberries or currents in this perfect goodness. Brown sugar and maple syrup are served on the side. I am not an egg person, but am told the Quiche of the day or the breakfast sandwich are excellent. If you are just looking for that carb infused pick me up, get the Morning Glory muffin. I am not sure what all is in the muffin, but it is incredible. Moist get the perfect muffin top that would make Seinfeld jealous. The Pan Au Chocolate - is HEAVEN! As a good friend says "butter sugar flower makes me happy." Well this delivers and then some. The perfect chocolate croissant with dark chocolate. My mouth is watering at the thought of it. Now to lunch, try the Sonoran...turkey, avocado, bacon, lettuce, tomato so excellent. Try it on the Garlic bread, and fantastic sour dough with whole cloves of garlic. Salads are excellent. The bread is amazing....which is just a given in this bakery that has so many other things.

This review is for a visit in early September, for baked goodies only, and take-out only. We just popped in after having lunch at the Firehouse to see if it was a real bakery; it was a pleasant surprise to find that it was! Loaded up on cookies, brownies, and lemon bars. The cookies were a little off somehow; dry and lacking in flavor but this could be a personal preference as I love an almost raw cookie and want to taste each ingredient in a bold way. The brownies were amazing! Soft, chewy, rich. The flavors and texture had great depth and only got better with a little reheat in the microwave! The lemon bars were fabulous. Again, this is personal preference... I know many like lemon in baked goods to be subtle and lean more to fresh citrus rather than standard lemon acidic. I like the lemon acidic tang when I can get it! There was nothing subtle about the lemon in these, kudos!!! The texture was right on and the crust was nice and thin... Just enough to support the contents but not much more. The momma also collected an assortment of morning pastries to share with one of the many clubs she is a member of... She reported the bear claws and almond croissant to be perfection. When in Prescott, we will stop in again! Yummmmmmmm....

Good bread, which is important when it comes to a bakery. Right? Right. The decor isn't much to look at. I expected it to be a bit more fancy, but the prices are decent, and as I said, the bread is good. i also had a chocolate chip, which I thought was good as well. No complaints about the service.

We decided to check out Pangea after reading a very positive review in Arizona Highways and we were not disappointed. Our first pleasant surprise was the half sandwhich-half soup order, both items were freshly prepared and very generous portions. I ordered a cup of soup that turned out to be what most establishments call a bowl of soup ...it was a hearty concotion of chicken with rice seasoned with lemon that had me doing my best Oliver Twist (More soup please!). The sandwhich, called a Sonoran, offered juicy layered chunks of real turkey (not the typical greasy processed stuff) topped with avocado and other fresh ingredients. The sandwhich was also built for big appetites. The whole experience was quite satisfying for this hungry Arkansan.

I have found this bakery to be a miss rather than a hit due to over priced bakery that rates fair when compared to similar establishments. As other reviews have stated there is confusion regarding being served at the counter. At my last visit I was told off my a male counter server that it wasn't my turn even though another customer was still de idi g what to order. Meanwhile I had to stand there even though I was ready to order.

Not impressed. I just moved to Prescott a few months ago and had been really excited to check the place out after reading good reviews in local papers and on yelp. As soon as I walked in I was turned off by the haphazard decor. Dirty sea green wall paint, oil paintings (these may change?), hymn-like music, and industrial tables and chairs. I was really excited about my leek quiche, but it was a total let down. It tasted more like cream than egg and had almost the consistency of a mousse. My friend's turkey sandwich was very fresh, but nothing to write home about. I think they make their own potato chips, and those were pretty good. Coffee was delicious. Cookies were meh. Maybe their bread is good? I probably won't go back to find out.

I just moved to Prescott about a month ago. Since moving here my husband and I have come to Pangaea almost every morning. We love everything about it. The food is great and the baked goods are amazing. They offer pastries, breakfast items, sandwiches, teas, coffee, and the best fresh baked bread. I will not buy bread anywhere else ever again. The caramelized banana french toast is the best. I would also recommend the grilled brie and fig sandwich, so good. And they also have a couple of vegan options which is always nice to see. The food isn't the only good thing about Pangaea. The staff is adorable and very personable. And I love that they decorated the place with art from local artists. It's a great little place to come to every morning. It seems that they really put a lot of effort into what they're doing. The pastries aren't overly sweet so you can actually taste whats in them. The bread options change every day, as do the quiches and pastries, so there is plenty of variety. I can honestly say that I do not have a single complaint about Pangaea. It's the type of place that I was hoping to find when I moved here. LOVE IT!

I have been traveling solo across country for the past 6 months and have visited many bakery/cafes similar to Pangaea. I am delighted to say that Pangaea is my favorite!! The variety of truly delectable goodies offered in this wonderful little cafe...including vegan and gluten free items are really impressive, delicious and very much worth the calories. I've had soups and sandwiches also...all really, really tasty. I love this little place that is slightly off the beaten path and I hope the locals recognize the treasure that they have here at Pangaea. note: I have never been a big fan of fruitcake...but Pangaea has changed all that. Even if you can't stand the stuff, give yourself a delicious adventure and try some of Pangaea's surprisingly rich and rewarding fruitcake...it will change your palate in a very yummy way. I have been to Pangaea atleast 6 times in the past several weeks...they never disappoint. Kudos to the staff (always friendly) and the brilliant mind who dreams up the delectable fare. Pangaea is a bakery where the goodies inside the case really taste as good as they look; and the many healthy, organic selections are also something you just don't see everywhere. I think Pangaea is a gem of an eatery in a gem of a city. I'm glad I got to experience it.

My partner and I had breakfast at this lovely cafe on September 21, 2010. We were impressed by the freshness of the food and even more impressed by the excellent service. We hope others will visit this worthy establishment.

Zero stars on customer service alone! I am a CA transplant and was warned to the lack of customer service in Prescott, but this was flat out rude! I had just moved to Prescott and calling different bakeries to see if they sell pre-made small cakes for my fiances birthday. He did not want a cake, but the day before expressed that it may be nice. I knew it would be a challenge, but it does not hurt to ask. I phoned this bakery and she was so rude. She was talking over me after she asked me what I was looking for. I started by saying I may want butter cream; she interrupted me by saying that butter cream is not a flavor. I should have hung up at that point. Then I threw out some cake flavors and included German Chocolate. She respond with the fact that German Chocolate cake does not have butter cream. That was it for me. Bye bye. Do NOT patronize call Grama's Bakery in Prescott; very helpful.
