Delish! Always great, homemade bread. I add on dirt their special spicey seasoning, oil and vinegar and it makes a sandwich perfect! Love to support this special local sandwich shop!

Raves for the cabbage and the bread. The OLIVE spread is to die for. I also loved having hummus as a substitution for mayonnaise. Nick's is a 2 generation family owned business with Chicago roots. Nick (the owner) is the best, too.

We travel up to Prescott once a year from Phoenix. Decided to venture out of the norm and try some new places. Coming in on Friday, this was our first stop for lunch. Very friendly staff and tasty sandwich. Price was reasonable. Ate at a small table (one of two) out front and enjoyed the cooler weather. Will now add to our list of Prescott go to spots.

Great little sandwich shop. Prescott is our home away from home and we just found this place. Nothing gourmet or fancy, but if you was a great tasting, quick sandwich it's one of the best I've had in town! The bread is delicious also!

Nick's is a great, local sub shop. They get their bread from a local bakery so it is always fresh and soft. They do shredded cabbage instead of lettuce which is a unique take on a sub. I love the cabbage, although I know some people don't. They do great meat subs and the hummus is tasty--super garlicky. They can get busy so I generally call in my order a half hour before I want to pick it up. Nick's is supportive of local organizations and events and often donate sandwiches or provide them at a discount. Great food, great people!

Put aside your pre-conceived notions of a submarine sandwich and try this place out! These subs are 'way beyond the "gut-bombs" of lesser puveryors. They are light, tasty and come hand-built on great bread. Cabbage rules! There is a good variety and various sizes to choose from. My family and I have been eating there since the 1980s and it a real tradition here in Prescott. The current location is convenient to the downtown and has good parking to boot. The folks behind the counter are great and continue Nick's long family practice of honest, good food.

Nick's serves just the basics: subs, bagged chips, bottled drinks. They are strictly Mon-Fri lunch hours. There's not much seating, so to me it's basically a take out joint. The bread is great. You can get 6", 9" or 12" size. They use sliced cabbage instead of "crunchy water", which is a nice touch. I always go for the "Depth Charge" and I'm never disappointed. Service is friendly too. They have several meat and cheese combinations. My only issue it that they put turkey on almost every one of them, which I think is strange. - I you feel this review is Useful, Funny, or Cool, please check the boxes below. Thanks.

Been eating these wonderful Subs since around 1994 when they were located in a tiny hole in the wall on Montezuma St. If you want one of Prescotts best meals this is the place. My favorite is a Poorboy on wheat. Mmmmm Nick and his crew are awesome and most days you can see Nick in there with a smile and a welcoming hello to greet you. 5 stars seems too low for the quality you will get here.

How do you find great places to eat in a town like Prescott? Ask a local! A few months ago I was at my favorite Gear Shop - Granite Mountain Outfitters - and asked one of the owners, Laura, where to get a good sub. No hesitation, no qualifications. She directed me a block over to Nicks and I think I'm hooked. How to build a great sub? Start with fresh, well-made bread. I read here it is a local product, and it was perfect ( I choose the Wheat)! Cabbage. I confess, I was a cabbage-sub virgin. Now I can't figure out why I never had one before. Fresh. Crunchy. Holds up better than lettuce. Sometime I grab one before my trip to the gym and eat it at home a few hours later - still good. A fine selection of meats. Not a build-your-own place, but one with a good selection of subs to choose from, including Tuna and Hummus. When I'm hungry the Belt-Buster hits the spot; when I'm virtuous I am happy with a Turkey sub. Oil and Vinegar and condiments to suit your palate. Service is fast, friendly and the parking is always good. How hooked am I? Weekly at the very least. Twice a week is not unlikely. Check it out!

Very unimpressed with this sandwich. My order was incorrect, and the sandwich was just a whole lot of blah. You have to special request such basics as mustard/mayonnaise... which blows my mind, because the sandwich was still super dry even with these added condiments. Can't imagine what it would've been like without them. It's also on the pricey side, pushing 10 bucks for a size to get a grown man full. I've heard from knowledgable locals that the quality also severely goes down if "Nick" isn't making the sandwich... but Nick was on-duty this time and I was still letdown. If you want to try a really delicious sandwich in the area (also expensive though), try Sourdough Country Deli in Prescott Valley. You pay for it, but it actually tastes flavorful and you get a humongous portion.

Anyone that has experienced Nick's just knows. On my visit this past weekend to Nick's I ordered one of my favorites, A Depth Charge. mmmmmmmmm - its kinda italian, but better. And get this- I haven't been into Nick's in about a year- and the lady taking my order looks up "Mike, right?" Seriously, I love them. And I need their super secret recipe.

I am a Preskit native that lives in California now, I haven't lived here in 20 years. Nicks is one of my best memories of growing up here. I used to sneak off campus at lunch in Jr. high to get a Belt Buster! I heard they reopened in another location years later and couldn't wait to have one. Everything I remember, this has been my benchmark for any deli sandwich my whole life. I only wish they would open one in the Bay Area!

This is a dang good sandwich!

Old favorite sandwich shop from when we used to live in Prescott. On a recent trip through town we stopped by and grabbed a bite on our way out of town. Everything was fresh and quickly made. Not the highest quality meats but a fair value for a tasty product!

I am a huge fan of Nick's! I just moved to the Prescott area, and I make it a point to eat at Nick's whenever I'm in the downtown area. They offer a few vegetarian selections, and everything can be customized to order. Never a long wait; always a friendly face making your sandwich and taking your order. This place is fantastic, and I really can't get enough of it! The cabbage instead of lettuce on the sandwiches is what really seals the deal.

Not impressed. Got the depth charge it was fairly dry. I did not see a slicer going either.
