This place is a neat little charm in Prescott. Salad and bread came out to the table very snappy. The kitchen was clean and organized ( I saw through the grate by the restrooms). Food came out fast. The question is will I be back? The answer is yes!

The people were very friendly, and the bread and butter they give you when you sit down is wonderful, but those are the only positive things we can say about our visit to LaBruzza's. The food was bland, which started with the salad they give you with the bread. The salad was cold, fresh and crisp, but it lacked in flavor. I had the linguini with clams in the white sauce, my husband had the manicotti, one of our guests had the fettucini alfredo, and our other guest had the tortellini with the spicy meat sauce, and none of us were impressed. We will not be visiting this restaurant again any time soon.

Our food last night was absolutely great like usual, but our server was terrible. She was distracted by a table of people she knew, and we waited for about fifteen minutes just to get her attention for our check. She never stopped by the table to ask how our meal was, never even knew her name. She made the meal slightly umplesant. Seemed like she hated her job. Needs to pay more attention to her customers.

Salad and bread were on our table as soon as we sat down, interesting to start feeding the guests right away, even before ordering dinner. Servers were dashing around in a frenzy, made me feel stressed all through our dinner. Food was okay...not sure if the veggies in my primavera were fresh or frozen which was a bummer. I have a particular disdain for restaurants that use baby carrots - - it is a convenience move over quality that speaks volumes to me about priorities in the kitchen. Our meals were okay but nothing special. Felt rushed and overlooked through the whole meal. Don't think we will return.

No wait on early Sat. Great BYOB if you don't mind opening your wine and self serving. Prompt pleasant service. Good standard bread loaf and unlimited salad. Special veal parmigiana disappointing, too much breading and mushy veal. Mediocre meal.

It was our first time eating at LaBruzza's. It was just okay. They serve salad and bread to every table. The salad was crisp and tasty. The bread was not great and only the crust was edible. My husband order lasagna. It had very little cheese in it and tasted so-so. I had chicken piccata. The chicken was tender but the sauce lacked. We wish we would have like it better as the atmosphere is nice.

I went here on Valentine's Day and had the most amazing experience. Brought in our own wine, no corkage fee and the food and service was absolutely incredible. I cannot wait to go back.

Great food, great service and you can bring your own wine. They provide wine glasses and opener. It's quality food and start you with a big bowl of salad and home made bread. Great prices and owner is very friendly. They don't take reservations or American Express. This is now our favorite Italian restaurant

Took my family for dinner and it was the worst experience ever. The blonde waitress would not come and check on us , she would go table to table and actually sit down while the people were eating. As we finished the waitress came back and asked if we needed anything, I said I thought you went home for the night. She sat there and watches all the other waitress do her work for her. As far as the food goes it went down hill since Gabe is gone. I miss Gabe!

I've been to Labruzza's 2x now, thanks to a great tip from a friend years ago and a thoughtful fiance who took me on a surprise weekend trip to recreate that trip. Everything we have had here was truly authentic. Wait, I mean autentico! The charm of this place is the history/owner/chotchkies on the wall/BYOB/placemats/dry erase board of specials/hole in the wall. Don't go into this place with your nose in the air expecting a snobby 5-star Italian experience. But that's why this place is awesome! It's like going over to your Uncle Louie's place and being greated at the door with a kiss on each cheek and a big shout of "Madona Mia!!". This place is at-home Italian autentico. Catch my drift?.... The only knock I'll add is, last trip I tried the lobster ravioli and I'm afraid to say I think there may have been a little bit of time between the lobster's last breath and it's resting place on my plate. Didn't taste super fresh to me. But then again, bold move on my part to oder Lobster in a landlocked state at a mile high elevation. What could I really expect? All in all - it's a funky place and I am positive I'll be coming back for years.

Good friendly service. Great to BYOB. But the food. Well this is a long way before being considered even semi-good Italian food. Linguine alle Vongole (Clams) well a can of tasteless clams stirred in over cooked soggy linguine with a predominant flavor of tin from the can. Not what I call good, actually disgusting. The Bolognese if not from a can it is far from good. I or most anyone can make these dishes much better at home with better ingredients at a much lower cost. There is nothing unique or special about this place. I would not recommend it for anyone, not even to those I don't like. This review is based on several visits. If it didn't have high reviews we would have only done one... There are better Italian places to eat in Prescott that do serve much better food.

When my friend and I first went to this restaurant, we absolutely loved it. Good food, bring your own wine with no corking fee, and warm friendly service. We began going every week and telling all of our friends (and some strangers) that they had to go there. Then, one week, we had terrible service and our entire experience was ruined! Apparently the waitress was also "management" (bleached blonde, probably in her 30s). She should have stuck with managing and left the customer service to the servers. My friend is a vegetarian, so when she asked to substitute vegetable for the meatball that comes with the manicotti, this "manager/server" became very abrupt and said there would be a $1.00 charge. We had never been charged extra for that service, or at least we didn't notice. My friend mentioned that we weren't charged before (we also wondered what kind of meat they used that it would be cheaper than a few vegges) and this woman got very rude and demanded to know who our server had been, that she was "management" and that the other server would be in trouble. This was so upsetting that our meal was ruined and we haven't been back since. It is sad because we loved the place prior to this and all of the real servers and employees were so warm and friendly. Now we have to go tell all of our friends that we changed our mind about the place. It wasn't about the extra dollar, it was about the rude and hostile attitude of this "manager"

Such nice staff and great food too! Bring your own bottle of wine (or two). We have lived in Prescott for 7 years and finally tried this restaurant today. Old style Italian restaurant (does anyone remember Bertolla's in Oakland?). We had a great evening. Lots of birthday's being celebrated at other tables . . . a great atmosphere! Nothing stuffy - it is what it is! Our new go to place whenever we see a spot in the parking lot!

Recently moved to Prescott, and heard this was a great place to eat. Sadly, the food was just average, the ambiance is dark and a little tacky, and parking is a problem. I ordered lasagna just to be safe, and it was good, but no better than buying one at Costco and cooking it at home. My husband's dish was also adequate, but nothing special. I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. Service was earnest, but not professional.

I don't understand the negative reviews. It's decent, not the best I have ever had but good. Service was great, everyone very friendly. Can't complain.

We love eating appetizers, but to our dismay, this place didn't have any. Not to worry, they had plenty of entrees to choose from, and their daily specials were more than abundant. The place seems to be always busy, so at first, getting seated was a challenge, but once we got our food, it was worth the wait. (The first attempt at this place was actually unsuccessful as their parking lot is tiny, and we waited for 5 minutes and then we just finally left.) The food was just mouth-watering, delicious, and oh so not low-cal. But what do you expect from a real Italian restaurant?! We also had their lemon cream pie and tiramisu, and I think it was worth it for us to visit, even if it was just for their desserts. Prescott is lucky to have a place like this.

This is BY FAR the best restaurant in Prescott!!! They are always polite, busy, and the food (esp. The salad, bread and garlic butter) is just AMAZING!! The chicken parm & chicken Marsala is delicious as well!! There is no doubt that this is my family and my favorite place to eat in Prescott!!!

  • Herkemer F.

Packed parking lot portended good things to come before we ever darkened their door. Courteous, friendly, attentive waitstaff. Excellent Italian bread with amazing garlic butter and a generously-prepared bottomless salad were on our table within only a couple of minutes of being seated. When the owner found out new customers were in the house, he paid us an immediate visit to welcome us and explain some of the menu items. My wife ordered the garlic shrimp and I had the eggplant parmesan. Both were excellent! It was the best italian restaurant food I've had -- ever! We will definitely be back!

This is the kind of place people want to keep in business. They are a small town Italian restaurant with great food! It is the only BYOB place I know of in Prescott with no corkage fee. For those people who complained about the sauce..... Here is the truth, my boyfriend does not like a lot of sauce and I do. He loved how much they give I like more. I asked for a side of sauce and they are more than happy to bring you a huge bowl of extra sauce. The service is awesome you feel as though the staff really enjoy their job. I went home for my birthday and all I asked for was to have my birthday dinner there. My birthday fell on a day that they were closed so I postponed my birthday to the next day they were open. That is how good the food, atmosphere, and staff are.

LaBruzza's is someplace special. I have gone here for years and have NEVER been dissapointed. They don't serve alcohol, but I have that to be part of the charm of this place. I go find a nice bottle of wine and bring it with me. Romantic atmosphere and delicious food makes this a true gem. The chicken parmesan alfredo is the best!

  • Jacqueline S.

What a great hidden gem. We decided to try Labruzza's after reading the reviews on Yelp and were not disappointed! I love that we were able to bring our own wine and there was no cork fee! The bread was simple and absolutely addicting, the salad was delicious, and I would kill to have the dressing recipe. We ordered the Chicken marsala with pasta and then a pasta with alfredo. The red sauce was delicious, fresh and definitely traditional; chicken marsala was fantastic bursting with on-point flavor, and the alfredo was creamy not oily with the perfect bite. The portions were overly generous and left us enough for another meal. The staff was friendly and attentive as well as the owner who was talkative and friendly. We would definitely plan another trip up to Prescott just for this restaurant! It's nice to know that there are Italian restaurants outside of my families that can stick to a traditional Italian Cuisine and execute the flavors well.

Food here is the BEST Italian food in Prescott. It's the salad and bread sticks that always keep me coming back. The service is always good and the Owner Gabe is always there to greet everyone with a smile. Oh ya BTW the BYOB of wine really helps out with the cost of the dinner.

  • Picky Eater H.

Great place. Salad needs more dressing, but I always ask for extra pepperoncinis and dice them up to liven up the salad. Every dish we have had has been excellent. Their sauteed vegetables are as good as they come. 5 stars. the BYOB wine thing is nice, too. It is a pleasant change not to be ripped off on wine prices by greedy restaurateurs. The wine markups in Prescott are almost criminal. Service great!

  • Paul B.

The Eggplant Parmesan is my favorite, but their other dishes are just as good. Pasta and ravioli are NOT home made, but sauces are fresh. If you want home made pasta, you need to go to Rosa's. Freshly baked Italian bread (all you want), crisp colorful Italian salad (all you want), and you can bring your own wine (no corkage fee). The atmosphere is cozy, friendly, and happy. The prices are low. Everyone is nice (even the customers). Just say no to generic Olive Garden fake Italian food!

Went on a Thursday night. If you want prime seating go when it opens at 5 or wait til 6:30 when second wave arrives. Anyway it was all good. I had spaghetti and meatballs and wife had chicken marsalla. Both were good. In spite of what some other reviewers said, wife's chicken was tender and tasty, maybe they had a bad night. Salad and bread beforehand were quite good. One word of caution if it is your first time. Not only can you BYOB but if you want any alcoholic beverage you must BYOB. Lots off self brought wine and beer on tables all around us. All in all a good experience and pricewise a bargain with lots of leftovers to take home.

YUM, been a customer for years, great food, salad , servers. The owner is always there and everyone loves Gabe. He is the reason the food is so good. Try the chicken Marsala or the chicken Parmesan. You can bring your own wine. I drive from Scottsdale when I want a great meal!!!

Excellent, friendly service, delicious bread with seasoned butter, salad wonderful with a variety of lettuces and very fresh, a little too much dressing though. The manicotti was light and delicious too, meatball was too big and rather bland. Could gave done without the meatball. My only real complaint here is that the food does not arrive at the table hot enough. Nevertheless it's a favorite restaurant and we look forward to returning.

This place was awful. Service was inattentive, our silverware was dirty when we sat down, soda from a can instead of a fountain. Atmosphere was very old-fashioned (in a cheap, 80's kind of way), all the fake plants were dusty and the whole place was dingy. Food was unremarkable in every way. Staff was so inattentive that we could have walked right out of the place without paying! And when we did pay, they mis-charged us, so they had to run two separate transactions and I had to stand around waiting for them to do the math manually. Bad experience... certainly not a family environment. If your party is less than 5 people, don't expect attention in any way.

Outstanding! Don't expect a modern fancy place. Do expect friendly service and great food. Portions are large and price is reasonable. Endless salad and fresh bread is a plus. Chicken Marsala is the best I've ever had. Pork Ossobucco and Veal Parm is great. I will admit, seafood isn't their specialty. It opens at 5pm and us packed by 5:20. There is a reason the locals keep coming back. Bring your own bottle, no corkage fee. RIP Gabe.

We really enjoyed everything we had here, fresh bread and delicious salad came out as soon as we sat down. We ordered off the specials menu, orange roughy with vegetables and a side of manicotti and baked gorgonzola ravioli with Alfredo sauce. No wine on the menu was unfortunate but we will definitely bring our own next time. We came in 30 mins before close and still got great service. Overall a very good experience for a good price.

As someone who has purchased a retirement home in Prescott and anxious to try local restaurants, we can honestly say this is the only restaurant where we've been disappointed. Chicken Marsala is usually a safe bet in any Italian restaurant. What a surprise to discover about two tablespoons of Marsala sauce on the bottom of a mound of pressed chicken. The pasta with red sauce was even more bland. When the waitress inquired as to whether we would like more salad, we responded with "yes" and watched her walk away without fulfilling the order. As the waiter cleared our table, it was obvious that our meals were not satisfactory as both of barely touched our meals. Have you ever experienced chicken which can't be cut with a steak knife? The ambiance was charming, but it can't overcome mediocre cuisine. Sorry.

great meal! i will return again! enjoyed every minute of the experience! creamy Italian dressing was very nice and I loved the super thin crepe noodle used for the manicotti!

Went here for a company dinner and was very pleased! I ordered the eggplant parmesan and found it to be tasty. The salad is delicious enough to have an addictive power comparable to Olive Garden's salad. The bread is also quite tasty. The drink choices are limited to non-alcoholic, but they do allow for bring your own wine. The iced tea refills kept coming by pitcher, which was convenient. My only gripe is the small parking lot and small dining area. It was a long wait for a table even with reservations. I wouldn't mind coming back but I don't think I'd go out of my way to return to dine.

  • Larry T.

Be ready to put your name on a list and stand in the parking lot until your table's ready. There's nothing in this restaurant worth that. I won't be treated like a bum in front of a soup kitchen.

I love this place. Small and cozy. YOU CAN BRING YOUR OWN WINE! No cork fee. They don't sell wine there. When you are seated, a big bowl of salad and bread are immediately brought to your table..and hopefully a few wine glasses. Most of the food is simple straightforward italian food with a few extra dishes added to the roaming white board menu. The spicey sherry shrimp is my fav, served with spaghetti and white garlic sauce or red sauce. Love the meatballs and the sausage is supposed to be incredible. You can get a variety of ravioli (just ask what kind) even if its not on the menu. I like the spinach gorgonzola) The owner is almost always there ( I believe they have owned the restaurant since the 80's). I wouldn't say it gourmet and dazzling but it's good food, great value, clean, cozy and a great place to visit with friends. We often go with 10-12 people bring a bunch of wine and have a great time! Call ahead for larger parties. They are closed Sunday and Monday and open from 5-9 pm but the local know this after many years.

A wonderful restaurant and very consistent. Bring our own wine. Huge portions so you will have a meal to take home. It's always busy sonplan to wait but not for long.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
