We've been here for two lunches and a dinner. Enjoyed each meal and the service was very good and friendly. It's a small place but parking is ample and reservations are probably a good idea for busy times. The quality of the food was very high. Tasty with very good level of spiciness. Homemade deserts ended a really great meal.

Excellent! Crab cakes Benedict were the best I've had . Lamb tostada was very good also.

Thank you Yelp for helping me find this place! I would not have found it otherwise. ISC is a very unassuming little restaurant. You would never guess the type of food served here is such high quality based on the exterior and interior of the establishment. The building is quaint and adorable, certainly off the beaten path. The wait staff was exceptional. We had Linda, who knew the menu and daily specials by heart. She was friendly and there when we needed her, without being intrusive. The other employees worked cooperatively with us, one running our credit card and another asking what we ordered , and actually got excited for us. For how nice the food was the dress code for the employees is very casual. The wife had their Bloody Mary and raved about the flavoring, while I had the Prickly Pear Margarita, delicious and strong! We ordered the Lobster Bites as an appetizer. Very tantalizing, but for the quantity felt slightly overpriced (yes, even though it was lobster). The bread came with whipped butter, which was not spectacular but good. The bread was not warm, however. I got the house salad, which was served in a cold bowl with a cold fork. The greens were nice & crispy. She got the onion soup with sausage and enjoyed it thoroughly, especially the crouton on top. The duck was what I ordered for the entree, which was probably the best choice I made all night. Wow, absolutely fantastic and tender. The sweet potatoes were the perfect blend of sweetness. She had the crab cakes, which were incredible, and included a chipotle mayo sauce she really enjoyed. The only real complaint was that there is only one bathroom for all the customers (not one male-one female, just one total). The quality of the meal and service was exceptional, and I would have no reservation going back again.

This place is great. Set up in an old train station, you are served with a smile. The waiter we had knew lots about the food and had great suggestions. The food was of great quality and tasfully delicious. Recommended by the lonely planet for a reason. I had the steak with bluecheese butter and my girlfriend had the shanks with one of the best marinades I've ever tasted. For desert we shared the keylime cheesecake with raspberry sauce, which was the best cheesecake she ever had (and trust me she's had many!). It's a little pricier than most places (around 15$ for a main plate) but the price/quality ratio is totally great. And the portions are very reasonable, we took some of it home because we couldn't finish it all. If I am ever back in Prescott, this is the place I will be going out to eat!
(5)Michael T.
If you manage to snag a table without having to wait too long, consider yourself lucky. The blackboard specials always look amazing, and the food can certainly deliver for their quality and presentation. I was taken aback by the prices at first for Prescott, in general, but I think if you're in the mood for something in that price range, I don't think you'll be disappointed with the choices they offer here. It's a cute little charming place that I would classify as a hidden gem because it certainly doesn't look like it from the outside. Definitely something that's worth a try, considering it's obvious that the locals just adore this place.

We have eaten here numerous times and everything is outstanding. My personal favorite is the salmon topped with cajun crawfish sauce. The Blackened catfish is to die for, the service is great and I always take my out of area friends here. I just wish the place was a little bigger.
(5)Harry B.
Dined here last night and loved our meal, atmosphere is very nice, our sever Donna was excellent, we will return.
(4)Michael F.
My wife and I came here for lunch. It is an old train depot which gives it character. The server was extremely polite and checked on us many times throughout our visit. I ordered their special.. blackened catfish with cole slaw, which was some of the best I've had. My wife had chicken tacos, which she enjoyed. They also have a wine list which was nice. Highly recommended.
(4)Fan B.
Went there last weekend and had the wild salmon topped with cajon crawfish sauce. It sat on real mashed potatoes and was great! Very fresh fish. Also got the salad with the apples and pecans-they will make a half order that is still very large and easily shared by two. The cactus pear margaritas were not too sweet and really good. Service great.
(4)Robert B.
My family and I have dined here at least a dozen or more times now and have never experienced a bad meal or bad service. Food is excellent and the staff is great. We will be coming here as long as they're there.
(5)Debbie M.
Great dinner tonight! Salmon was done perfectly with great fresh flavors. Beautiful presentation. Lemon drop martini was very good too. Love this restaurant. We've never had a complaint.
(4)Dick A.
This is one of those places you hope to find in every city in any country or place you visit. It's not canned, fresh ingredients, great food in an atypical setting. Atypical being good, small but clean and unique. This is one place not to miss. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays now. But soon to be open on Mondays. Hours are 8 am to 8 pm.
(4)A F.
Fried tuna extremely dry and could not eat it. Sent back and tried the burger. It too was way over cooked. It looked and tasted like it had been freezer burned. It was some mass produced mystery-meat looking thing. No manager ever came by. The beer was cold but it was the last Black Butte.
(2)Bettina I.
My hubby loves their Enchiladas n Eggs- they are very good but I'm pretty stuck on Crabcake Benedict! Great service, accommodating towards their guests. The Depot is a great little piece of local history too!
(5)Matt E.
The chicken enchilada lunch special with green chile sauce was outstanding today. The restaurant is cozy and when I arrived first at around noon there was no place to park and it was packed inside. Just shows you how good it is.... I came back about 45 min later and got in though it was still full of patrons. Obviously a local 'hangout' and thus one of my favorite type of places. Simply excellent food and quick efficient hometown style service. They are apparently stopping breakfast service in a few weeks, but that doesn't stop you from going for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch.
(5)Robert B.
Reserved table on weeknight. Seated in back of side room with view of bathroom door with people waiting and door to patio used by patrons and servers. Long wait for server to appear and when he did it was to say water would be on the way. Certainly the worst service I have had in Prescott in some time. Ordered overpriced bottle of zinfandel. Bottle brought with cork opened. No taste of wine offered and wine glass filled to excess by server and then we were on our own to pour wine. Had to ask for water refills. Soup and salads about half finished when entrees were brought and plunked in front of us. Food and presentation fine but nothing special. Delicious bread pudding. Poor service made for a disappointing dining experience.
(2)Soo Jin M.
Its not four stars. The hamburger is a frozen patty pan fried and put on a potato bun with all the fixings. The fries aren't bad. The ground lamb tostada is a gimmick to be able to charge more, it would taste a lot better with beef. The rice is also weird to put under the tostada - makes the shell get soggy really quickly. They try, and they're nice, but food is not worth 4 stars.
(2)Kathy D.
What a wonderful meal!! This was our first visit to Iron Springs, and I was really impressed! I would say that the #1 plus was that we could make reservations and #2--- was the excellent meal I had! I ordered the garlic salad and crab cakes. I have to say that the salad was good ad that the crab cakes were the best I have ever had-including my years living in southern Florida!!
(4)J A M.
We ate at five different breakfast places while visiting Prescott, and this one was by far the best. I wasn't super hungry, but I ordered their bacony eggs benedict (can't remember the name on the menu), and not only ate every bite but would have licked the plate if we hadn't been in public. My husband had breakfast enchiladas, which were also delicous. The coffee was just okay - better than diner coffee, but not amazing. The service was very friendly and pleasant. The building is a cool, old train depot. It's not downtown, so it might be a good spot to get away from the downtown crowds during the busier season.
(4)Steve D.
Pretty pleasantly surprised by the Iron Springs Cafe. From the outside it looks like it could be a greasy spoon serving normal diner fare. But it offers an eclectic, creative, and delicious mix of American, Cajun, and Mexican food. We very much enjoyed our food despite it being an odd mix of gumbo first and enchiladas second. We didn't get a chance to try the breakfast/brunch options, but they look phenomenal. Definitely not fine dining, but nicer than expected in a very quaint way. Full bar, which we didn't expect from the diner-esque look of the place. The only drawbacks were the total prices being slightly higher than you might expect, and it being not much warmer inside than the cold outdoors. It's an old building--an old railroad stop--so that can be forgiven during Prescott's cold winters. Be warned, it's tiny so if it's crowded you will wait a bit...we got in just before a big rush. Still we would very much recommend it.

Prescott has few places with food that makes me drool. I've found most of it at my friends' houses or grilling at a lake. Obviously Iron Springs Cafe is a cute little setting (a former railway station, I believe), and the decor is darling, but it's the food and the service that sets it aside. The menu is creative and the chef/owner isn't afraid to lose money by offering several specials a day, which might not sell. S/he also offers entrees and ingredients that you can't find other places. The service blew me away. Granted, I knew Derek, our server, but I hadn't seen him in 15 years. He recited the complicated, drool-inspiring services like a Method actor on crack, but I think that, of our party of five, three of us ordered one. I had a fish dish, lightly fried, with a bleu cheese sauce and the house red wine vinegarette coleslaw on the side. I was pleased. The fish type (I can't remember which) is unavailable in other P-town restaurants. Trust me. The flavors, presentation, and menu options are varied and fun, and the service is truly flawless. All told, Iron Springs Cafe is one of Prescott's best.
(5)Richard D.
We had a very good meal at this establishment on a Saturday night. I had the flat Iron steak and it was very good. The service was a tad slow but once the order was in the food came quickly. My lovely wife had the crab cakes and loved them. She indicated that they were better than any she had ordered in Florida. My son had the pork green chile and enjoyed it. As newbies to Prescott I would have to say that this was our finest dining experience to date. 'Nuf said.
(4)Jim F.
Kind of quaint, the food was fairly good. Prices are quite high, especially drinks. Gumbo was good, blackened catfish fairly good. I am not overly impressed.

Some friends and I took an overnight trip to Prescott to enjoy some bands over the weekend and found ourselves very hungry while thrifting around town. Yelp told us about the Iron Springs Cafe which was right around the corner from where we were at the time. So. Glad. That. Happened. We found it easily on Iron Springs Road, walked in and we're seated right away. It was a Saturday night around 6:30pm. Our server, Mary, was so knowledgeable, and proceeded to explain the menu and all of their mouth watering specials that evening. Everything is fresh here. I asked for the spinach salad. No big deal, yah? As it turns out, it was kind of a big deal. Every bite was tasty. Fresh spinach with spiced pecans, apple slices and Chipotle dressing. Delicious. My friend went for one of the soups that day; roasted red pepper. We all tried it and agreed it was indeed incredible soup. Taco plate, burger and fries, all fantastic. When we got back to the hotel, we were told that we had stumbled upon a local favorite, which did not surprise us at all. This will definitely be a stop made on purpose from now on!

Each time we've been here it's been a little after 10 on Saturday morning. The staff has always been accomodating about providing me with lunch choices, while KT usually goes for the breakfast menu. My one breakfast experience was with a special Crab Cake Benedict. Being from the East coast I typically shy away from crab cakes elsewhere, but the waiter recommended it highly. It deserved all the accolades. Delicious. Crisp muffin, tasty and generous crab cake, poached egg done just right, and not so much hollandaise that you wonder what they're hiding. Extremely good. KT has had the Huevos Rancheros and the Pork Green Chili with eggs. Both earned rave reviews. The lunch menu leaves a bit to be desired, as there are a couple sandwiches on muffaleta bread (I tried the N'Awlins and it was truly unremarkable) and burgers. I did enjoy the Green Pork Chili Stew, which was very tasty and a generous portion. The side of slaw, which I've had twice, leaves me perplexed. The ingredients are varied and appear fresh, and there's lots of different flavors. Yet none come together very well. It was better after a day in the fridge as a leftover, but still the varied tastes never got friendly. A nice little place which, despite it's rustic appearance, always seems clean. We'll be in to sample dinner sometime.
(3)Greg W.
What a wonderful surprise. Great variety! Italian, Cajun, seafood ... The seasoning is well thought out and authentic of its ethnicity. I will be back again and again. The gumbo is fantastic!
(4)Melissa N.
Cute restaurant and fantastic food! This is a small place, but we always find somewhere to sit. Great coffee and breakfast - try the french toast! If you're here for lunch, the spinach salad is heavenly, and don't miss the carnitas plate when it's on the daily special. The meat is seasoned absolutely perfectly!

The reviews here on Yelp had us excited to try Iron Springs Cafe... after a bland meal devoid of any flavor that cost us an arm and a leg and left us all hungry, we will not be returning! The waitress was dismissive and pretty rude. My girlfriend ordered a blackened chicken sandwich with the sauce on the side... when it arrived fully-sauced, the waitress bemused, "Oh they didn't put it on the side?", then just stood there and acted like "Oh well". My girlfriend took one look at the sandwich and decided to just eat it as-is, since the waitress appeared to have zero interest in replacing it or making it right. I had "the special", chicken enchiladas... what arrived were two small enchiladas with little chicken, drowned in sauce that tasted straight from a can, for which I had the privilege to pay $15.50 for. Not only was it not tasty, it left me still feeling very hungry. All the little things were way off in this place... we ordered 2 sodas, and what arrived were two glasses with ice and two cans of pop. I seem to need a lot of fluid with my meals, so when I asked the waitress how much each can cost, she said "$1.75... or is it $1.50? I'm not sure." Instead of confirming for me the exact price, she dropped the subject and never reported back. Needless to say, I kept it to one can during the meal... not something I did gladly! The restaurant is so uncomfortably small, it feels that the staff is constantly looming over you while they go about their business. It's hard to hold a conversation without feeling ears listening in. When the food, service, policies, and ambiance is all wrong... there's no doubt this place is "off the list" for our family.
(1)Ryan M.
Don't let the appearance of the homelike restaurant, the chair bolted to the wall or even the magnets all over the air ducts fool you - this is a great place with delicious food! The service was outstanding as well. This place's slogan is "Food With Flavor!" and they aren't lying. I had a blackened chicken dish with a chipotle sauce that was really good. I also had some soup and we all shared the french fries. I have no complaints. The place is small so you may want to make reservations. I was in town visiting my family and I am sure I will be back.

After reading all the reviews on Yelp, I was looking forward to breakfast at Iron Springs Cafe. It was a cold windy morning and we came hungry! They are expensive, but I don't mind spending a bit more to start the day off right. We didn't think twice about price until we received our meals! We both ordered the Pork Green Chili topped with eggs. First of all for $9.75, the portion was small! Secondly, the eggs were hot, but everything else from the pork green chili to the rice and beans were barely warm! They took our plates back and heated them but this should never have happened and no apology given. I am a green chili enthusiast, and this was straight out of the can! All of the food was pretty bland! About the only cool thing is that the buidling is an old train depot, but unfortunately that is not enough to draw me back!

Roy 'The Hungry Englishman' My wife is more familiar with the Prescott area than I and over the years a number of favorable comments had filtered her way about the Iron Springs Cafe, so feeling rather like a nice breakfast this morning we decided to give it a try today. Will we be returning? Probably not! Although the building and decor is a little old it does have a friendly 'been here forever' feeling and lets be honest some of the very best food often turns up at simple unpretentious local eateries. The place wasn't overly busy or too noisy. The staff seemed friendly and I noticed that all were wearing T-shirts, and although I can't remember the exact phrase, they did have a slogan expressing the food was all about the 'flavor'. My hopes were indeed raised but I'm sad to say that the reality of the food did not live up to the claims! My wife had the 'Alan's Special' (aka eggs Benedict). The first thing she noticed was that the English muffin was terribly wet and soggy, not very palatable at all, one can only assume that that poached eggs were just dumped out of the water onto the muffin without being aloud to rest (dry), perhaps simply placing them on a paper-towel to soak up the excess water (instead of the muffin!). The other complaint was that everything (especially the hollandaise sauce) was very bland. As for myself I opted for the special of the day which was steak & eggs (with beans and rice). Again I notice a distinct blandness in the food, the beans and rice seemingly unseasoned. The beans tasted like they had came straight out of a tin. My 'steak' was really very small and I to mean tiny, no more than a couple of mouthfuls. I had asked for it to be cooked 'medium rare' but it was quite clearly 'very' rare. This is not a big deal for me, so I decided to continue but was continuously disappointed as I worked my way though the 'Munchkin' sized steak to find excessive amounts of unpalatable gristle, tendons etc. At this point it was becoming clear that the quality of our meals was generally below par. However the 'Coupe De Gras' was that after handing over a large bill for payment the (young blonde) waitress returned with our change which was significantly short..! I politely called here back and pointed out this oversight, after an apology she took it away and returned a few moments later, with the right change? Wrong..! the change was once again incorrect, this time she had only short changes us a few cents, so I decided just to let go. it is very sad for me to see quality and customer service continuing to deteriorate in such establishments. You and I cannot make these establishments raise their standards but we can vote with our dollar (often hard earned) and in a case like this I don't feel that Iron Springs Cafe values my custom either in the quality of their food and especially their unprofessional customer service, wich in the case of repeatedly short changing customers is tantamount to theft...! Was it a terrible place for breakfast? absolutely not but was it good enough to encourage me return? NO. Happy eating, Roy

We have driven by this little place for years and finally stopped in for breakfast today. Lucky for me they had their crab cakes eggs benedict special, which was awesome! The crab cakes were crispy and had a ton of crab and great flavor. My husband had the banana carmel french toast, which was also fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel right at home. Kyle our waiter was personable, attentive, and on the ball.
(5)Herkemer F.
Great food, lousy service. Try the sausage bomber andouille sandwich. The fries are awesome!
(3)Johnny P.
We've eaten here so many times in the last 8 years it's ridiculous. The service is always awesome and the food is consistant every time. My biggest problem is I love one thing there (Black and Bleu steak) and I have a hard time trying something else. I have had everything on the menu pretty much though throughout the years. Make sure you check out the daily specials and also call ahead of time if you aren't sure they are open. Sometimes they have funky hours. Oh yeah, the Sunday brunch is amazing. The crab cake breakfast is top notch.
(5)Kari G.
Amazing food... Always Something new and yummy! Great service!
(5)carol b.
Ok but not great. Latest reservation on a Friday night was 7:00, but that might be typical for the town. Service mixed. Saw them work hard to seat a party without reservations but our server was very slow. When I tapped the wrong one to ask for assistance she promptly took my order without complaint but turns out she didn't tell us about one of the specials that I later heard described to another table. Reasonable food.
(3)Amanda R.
Iron Springs is a Prescott staple and never disappoints, whether you are there for Sunday brunch or Saturday lunch. Of course, I prefer the Sunday brunch for the crab cake benedicts and blood marys, not to mention other delicious southwestern dishes topped with eggs. Need I mention the homemade desserts (bread pudding with a hot rum sauce)?! The place had a good energy - the staff are so friendly and fun - as well as a great atmosphere, from the old rail car seating booths to the outdoor patio in the warmer months. It is perhaps the best all-around dining establishment in Prescott.
(5)Tess W.
This place confused me. I lived a stones throw away from it for quite awhile but I never ventured in. When I first moved to Prescott I asked people about it and never got very good reviews from anyone. The place looks very run down on the outside, in fact it looks like it might fall down at any minute. I wondered before I entered if I should get a tetanus shot first. Based on the outside I expected something completely different then the actual dining experience that I did get once my girlfriend finally took me here, she chose this place, mostly because it was the last restaurant in Prescott that I had never been to. The inside matches the outside, it is just as hap-hazard, it looks a bit like the place has gone through a severe earthquake and no one has taken the time to straighten anything out. The staff was not very friendly and when we left the restaurant the good bye and generic come again that we received from the waiter was absurdly insincere. I was shocked by the prices of the food. I ordered a southern friend tuna steak with jalapeno gravy, side of mashed potatoes and cold slaw. My girlfriend had the fried chicken with the same side dishes. Both entrees came with a side salad. The side salad was mostly iceberg lettuce, which is fine, if you are at Denny's and paying Denny's prices. My tuna steak was well cooked but it was mostly tasteless, which was shocking and left me wondering how you make jalapenos taste so bland? My girlfriends chicken looked good and it did not look overly greasy. The mashed potatoes were really good but overall the food was not worth the price. I think this place misses a lot of marks and is kind of all over the place. They are trying to be southern Cajun style, quaint and queer, down home small town, and upscale all at once and that just does not work out in their favor, there is a little too much of too many things and not enough of anything good. I will not return here again unless I am dragged in by someone else.
(2)Scott M.
Iron Springs Cafe is my absolute favorite breakfast spot in all of Prescott! Judy and Todd couldn't be nicer and the food is consistently great! The atmosphere is a combination of the quaint charm of the building and the welcoming attitude of the staff, who always seem glad to see me.
(5)Carol M.
Cute cafe but expensive. breakfast was 10.00 per person. Staff was friendly but unfortunately food was marginal.
(2)Brad S.
Rounding up to a 5. Fun cafe with great food. Prices are a little high but you can really taste the quality in every bite. The dessert we had was amazing. The chicken is amazing and the crab cakes.
(5)Paul C.
A new favorite for us when we visit these parts! Great service, I loved the Catfish, so tasty! This place is a must try when visiting Prescott!
(4)Roger P.
Another disappointment The chicken andouille sausage gumbo had outstanding flavor with nice thick sauce but was extremely lacking in sausage. A piece of some sort of bread would be nice. I like to venture around the menu but am more often disappointed then pleasantly surprised with a new find. The chef needs to assure each dish is what it is meant to be
(3)Al S.
WOW!. Did not expect that... Looks a little janky inside and out, but, all four of the people in our party really enjoyed their meals. The cobbler was the best we'd ever had. Our server was awesome, very pro!
(5)Tera W.
We chose to sit on the back patio and we were charmed with string lights and an herb garden. My sister and I split two dishes- the cesar calafawhatjacallit salad and the roasted vegetable sandwich...YUM. We waited probably a maximum of 10 minutes for our food which was extremely pleasing. Both were delightfully delicious, and our server Derek brought bread and butter with the salad, and also our OWN sides of ranch. He was a great server with enthusiasm and happiness that we caught on to.The food was beyond satisfying, as well as the service. He even brought us complimentary strawberries with whip cream and a strawberry sauce. It was a very pleasant dining experience, and I will definitely be going back.
(5)Amber L.
Iron Springs Cafe is a great place I've been there once the food is good the staff is really friendly.
(4)Michael S.
I find myself here nearly once a week. Great food (crab cakes benny is a must try), great service.
(5)Brian d.
We were at the Iron Springs a few months ago for a late dinner. I ordered fish, I can't remember at this time if it was salmon or trout. Either way, it arrived VERY undercooked and cold. When I requested that it be fully cooked, the server treated me very poorly. The same portion was returned to the table after it had obviously been microwaved to bring the food to temperature - while killing all the flavor. This is the closest restaurant to our new home and I will guarantee you that I I will never visit the Iron Springs Cafe again.
(1)Anthony K.
The staff at this place is amazing. They are entertaining and high energy. The prices are a tad high, and the location is a tad away from the action. The meal was prepared quickly and the portions were generous. Enchiladas and carnitas were tender beyond belief. I wish we'd saved room for dessert; they looked very, very good.
(4)Joan F.
I was anxious to go there after talking to a woman about places to find a great burger. She said her teenage daughter LOVED their burgers so my husband and I went. He ordered a 'bowl' of gumbo asking if it was a good size because it was $8.50. He was assured it was. It was a very small 'bowl' and even though it came with cole slaw, it was way too spicy, and he likes spicy, and hardly worth the price. Of course I ordered the 1/2 lb burger which came with fries. The burger was horribly tasteless, dry and appeared to be a frozen patty. I asked for sliced onion and tomato. The two rings of onion were sliced so thickly that they kept sliding out of the bun. I asked for more onion and pickle since pickle didn't come with it. The waitress brought me a plate of onion sliced 1/2" or more thick and a dill pickle cut in half. Guess they don't have pickle slices to put on your burger. The whole thing was messy and too hard to eat. Would never go back there again. I've decided that Gurley Street Grill's burgers can't be beat.

Sunday (mid)morning and I have a craving for flavorful food, the thought of The Iron Springs Cafe' comes to mind, It would appear that many others had the same thought(s)......(ever go to a restaurant and you know everyone ? smaaallll town!)....we were all in search of good food. I hope that they found their's, because i certainly food.. (oops) found.. mine ! I heard (from across the room) the specials delivered by a obviously well trained server, before he had appeared at our table i had decided on the (overheard) Grilled Salmon Quesadilla as the appetizer, which turned out to be the first & -Best- I have ever had. I stopped friends arriving in the parking lot as we exited to rave about it.....i was a little animated, i just wanted them to try it !!!!!!. A half-pound grilled cheeseburger was really well done @ med-rare and seasoned from either the grill or from the chef's hand (who turned out, come to find out, to be a chef i know, who really is a Chef) perfectly . A Salmon Caesar was spotted across the table for my dates entree' which looked good but was in no way a distraction from my own plate which included crispy, hot french fries. Would have only been slightly happier if i had this experience on the patio, 'cause it was 72degrees out, and i can't take a star away due to my in-ability to stop touching the (snooze) button !

Way over priced and under-quantitied. Some of the food is a joke, but some is good. We sort of know what to order, but, overall, it has not been worth the money we spent to find out what we like. Their crab cakes would have been overpriced at half the price, and were gummy with little flavor. They were so gummy they would have just been globs had they not been scorched on the grill to firm up the outside surface. Surely not blue crab. Most of the flavor was in the sauce, which was not exactly redolent with chipotle, as advertised.. Really poor. And the crab cakes were tiny. I would reject them if they were free. And, I love crab cakes, from living on the Chesapeake. The pico de gallo was strictly school lunch. The "N'Awlins muffaletta" was an insult to anyone who has had a real one. BORE-ING. The roll did not appear to be freshly-baked, as claimed on the menu. I believe it was baked a day earlier. Burger is pretty good. Good fries always, and the soup is often good. The green chili pork stew is pretty good, but no way is it worth what they charge. What on earth are they thinking? Coffee is ordinary. Why the menu describes it as roasted, I cannot guess. Of course it is roasted. All coffee is. This bit of menu puffery epitomizes the gestalt of the whole place. The wine has too much of a mark up. They seem to have way too high an opinion of themselves, and charge accordingly. It's almost as if they survive by conning the customers instead of serving them good food. As exemplified by the description of the coffee as being "roasted". Or, maybe my expectations were just too high. Certainly, reading their menu made me expect much more. Some of the seats are ridiculously uncomfortable. The parking is poor.

My mom has been raving about this restaurant for a while, and I finally got the chance to try it out - it was just as good as she said! We sat outside on the patio, and loved the herb garden and wrought iron fence. Our server, Derek, was great. I split the caesar salad and veggie sandwich with my sister, and both were excellent. The caesar dressing was made with pepitas and cilantro instead of eggs and anchovies, and the salad had tasty tortilla strips on top. Tons of yummy roasted veggies on the sandwich, and the fries that came with it were great too. We were too full for dessert, but Derek brought out some strawberry slices with whipped cream with the check - the perfect ending to a wonderful meal. I thought the portions were very generous, and the prices seemed very fair. We will definitely be going back!

Aaah, good old Iron Springs Cafe. Before moving to town I visited Prescott several times and always made sure to come here. The food is creative and delicious. The regular menu is great, but I come in for the specials. They change regularly and there are some specials that stick around. I do not like catfish, but I love their blackened catfish with chipotle sauce. One of their best items is the southern fried tuna with jalapeno gravy. It sounds weird but its awesome. I cant eat here without getting dessert. They make everything themselves and it shows. The bread pudding with brandy cream sauce is my personal favorite, but I would also recommend the key lime cheesecake. When I go in I make sure to ask for Derek. He is the best waiter I have ever dealt with. However, all of their staff is great. They are very good at accommodating their customers with special order requests. They are one of the few places that I have seen that allow customers to split entrees. Iron Springs Cafe is my favorite restaurant in town. Just be aware that they're closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

This is the best restaurant in Prescott...could easily contend against higher end restaurants in metro areas. The food is fresh and the owner, Mary is a creative chef. Food is priced reasonably from great salads, tacos to duck or catfish. Iron Springs Cafe is housed in a railroad car with quaint and eclectic decor. We eat here frequently and are never disappointed.

Yes, it is a bit pricey. My beef... a plate of rice & beans costs more than the burger? Come on, really? But it still doesn't affect my star-rating. This place houses some of the best servers in the area, if not the universe. They are fast-talkers who jot down your order in their heads yet DON'T MESS UP. I've eaten here dozens of times & never have any complaints or mess-ups. Their menu is solid, plus specials to delight all. A very quaint, homey atmosphere & a perfect outing, except on Mondays & Tuesdays when they are closed! Tip: Try their french fries & know what the best french fries ever taste like.

Stellar restaurant with interesting and tasty grub. The food is south-west inspired, and many of the items have a bit of spice to them. Personal favorites include Tudie's Chicken-Fried Tuna with Jalapeno gravy, the Sausage bomber, and the Prickley Pear Lemonade! Prices are a bit high for the area, but you definitely get your money's worth with the quality and portion size. Quaint atmosphere and awesome service. The biggest problems they face are a lack of parking, and an out-of-the-way location on iron springs road. Other than that, this is a definite hit.

Wow! This place was incredible! We were looking at property and the Realtor (Jim Damm, great Realtor, btw) suggested we go to he and his wives favorite restaurant - the Iron Springs Cafe, he said we could go in the casual clothes we were wearing. The restaurant, according to Jim is an old Railroad Station, moved to the spot. It is a shack, no doubt about that, they just threw a thick coat of white paint on everything, enclosed a back patio, and that's it! But, the food IS amazing! It was funny, we were wearing shorts, the waiter had a t-shirt on and was describing the details of the food to us as if we were in the most expensive restaurant! I remember thinking - "he's acting like we're at the Ritz, and we're sitting in a shack!" He said things like "Our special tonight is seared salmon in a reduction sauce with braised asparagus and arugula salad, we also have surf and turf, filet mignon nicely marbled with carmelized onions atop red potato mash with our specialty crab cakes....." Wow! I ordered the surf and turf and my husband got catfish! It was wonderful! I'm usually disappointed with fish, but the crab cakes were delectable - my husband loved his catfish and the piece he got was huge, we had some leftover from both our plates! If we move there, I'm sure it will be our favorite restaurant. We sat in a tiny enclosed patio and they kept dragging the chairs around rearranging everything, then they set up a table for 12 in our little room! Luckily we left just after that party arrived! The food is worth the "strange" atmosphere.

Great atmosphere! Great staff! Great food! These guys have been around for awhile and every meal I've had there has been great. The atmosphere is relaxed and the service is top-notch. I recommend: french fries, blackened chicken caesar, salmon (butter sauce on the side), chocolate truffle, Eggs Benedict, ...I could go on and on. They do a great job.

We have eaten here several times and they never disappoint . Food is fresh, waitstaff is friendly and fast and the dishes are full of flavor. Lots of choices. Not to mention it's very clever and cool the way they have decorated this place and made use of the space. Love it!

This place is wonderful and the best restaurant in Prescott. The ambience is quaint and very special. How often do you get to eat in an old train depot? The food, however, is what keeps this place very popular. My favorite salad of all time is here. The Cajun Chicken Ceasar Salad is out of this world. It's beyond delicious. Their enchiladas are always great. Their gumbo is amazing. The bomber sandwich is spicy and tasty. Their key lime cheesecake is delicious. Prickly Pear Lemonade is very unique and very good. I think I have sampled everything on their menu over and over again and it never fails to be some of the best food of my life. Don't leave Prescott without getting your share of their food.
