This was a nice and cozy little family owned joint. The waitress was extremely nice. We placed an order for take out and not only was the order wrong, they had not closed the container all the way. By the time I got home, all my sauce had been outside of my pasta container. As for price, some of the items were a little overpriced for what it was. The taste was pretty good, it probably would have been a lot more tastier if we had eaten in. Would I come back here again? Maybe one more time just to give it another shot. But definitely NOT carry out!

Don't think that a take out order is REALLY TAKEN just because you called and spoke with someone. My order wasn't ready three hours after I called it in. This place is legit? Great food and service. The blue cheese dressing is to die for. Our server told us it was house made and WOW. Our party ordered the lasagne, tortellini with Alfredo, olive pizza and veal Marsala. All were fantastic. The Alfredo sauce was decadent. We will be back!

Decent Italian food Four of us had an occasion to sort of celebrate and we decided to go here Service was terrible initially The waiter eventually got his act together but we waited for fifteen minutes at the beginning of the visit and he made two mistakes right away with what we asked for. Anyway, the gentleman with us who ordered the lasagna could not stop raving about it !!! I had the gnocchi which was pretty good. Two of us had eggplant dishes which were decent. Desserts were good too I think it's a good restaurant but not a great one.

Strangest chicken Cesar salad I've ever had. Fresh romaine lettuce drenched with olive oil topped with strips of unseasoned boiled chicken topped with some kind of Parmesan paste. No flavor of really anything. The menu said salads come with garlic bread but none was served with my salad. When I asked about the bread the waiter said he would bring me an order. One small piece of overdone bread. I wouldn't recommend this dish for anyone!

Best Italian restaurant in Prescott. We love coming here . Stared off with their free garlic bread. We then had their fried zucchini and calamari. It has a light batter and not very oily . Usually a great Italian alternative to papas. And typically good food, although their portions seem to be getting smaller over time. Our waitress however brought our whole experience down. Not friendly, and seemed like she was way to busy to even give us our check. After asking and waiting for 20 minutes, I had to get the hostess to get our check. Our waitress had disappeared. Still a good place if papas is full and you have an extra half an hour to wait after dinner to get your check.

I had linguine with mussels (10 large, tender, & succulent) in the creamy sauce! Oh my, sauce light, fragrant & flavorful! Husband lived his spaghetti bolanese& tiramisu was wonderful. Meal served hot, not like it's been sitting under a warming light, etc. Service was friendly, professional & immaculate & timely...but, not rushed! Joe, the server, brought me a sample of the alfredo sauce to sample, near the end of meal while waiting for dessert & lemoncello! Hmmmm.....ROSA'S is over-rated compared to this. I really like this restaurant. I have been here several times and haven't ever been disappointed. This last time was the best. I ordered the shrimp stuffed manicotti which was so good that I finished every bite, which is unusual for me. They have great bread and a good wine list. Everything always tastes very fresh. My friend and I took a little day trip up to Prescott today and before we left, we wanted to eat somewhere. I look on Yelp at the list of nearby restaurants in the area. We found this little gem not to far away. We go in and it's a quaint little building and we were seated right away. Our server came and brought us our waters very quickly and gave us time to check the menu. We both got the Build Your Own Pasta and the prices on that were really good. It came with a choice of soup or salad and I got the salad. If you like ranch on your salad, then you HAVE to try their homemade ranch. They put enough on your salad that it's not drenched but enough so every bite has some on there. We get our pasta and it's a really good size portion. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. The service was great and the atmosphere was really nice. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely pay another visit there.

This is and always will be my favorite Italian restaurant in the Prescott area. Six of us went for the early bird special Saturday evening. The place was hopping, but wait staff was able to provide excellent service. We ordered appetizers along with our entrees which came with choice of salad or soup along with garlic bread. I ordered the linguini with clam sauce. They give you 3 choices of sauces clear broth, red, or creamy. It was excellent. All of our other entrees ranging from lasagna, spaghetti and sausage, eggplant parmesan we're cooked to perfection. Many choices on the menu. There is something for everyone. Portion sizes are very generous. Family owned, friendly staff, great food!

First off, this place is cozy. The food was very good and so was the service. We came here without having any time restrictions so it made for a relaxing meal. We started with pizza bread which was tasty. I had the gnocchi with marinara and my husband had the meat lasagna. We were both happy with our meal. It's a simple sauce with tomatoes and garlic and it's just how I like it. Flavor without getting to fancy. As we were eating we saw a dog with his owner standing outside the door. The dog looked like he knew someone in the restaurant and proceeded to sit in front of the door wagging his tail and breathing on the glass. Several patrons noticed said dog and we all had a little laugh when the dog laid down in front of the door and would not budge. A few minutes later one of the waiters walked to the door with a bowl and gave the dog a treat. Apparently this dog does this twice a week with the same results. How could I not love a restaurant with great food that allows and adorable dog to stop by twice a week for a treat! I recommend this place for a nice meal, good service and a very enjoyable atmosphere.

Food ice cold & when you complain.... they get upset & return the same cold dish to you again. Not just for one person in our party but for 4-people. Very sad. And no discount for the cold food. There are several good Italian restaurants in Prescott but Genovese's is the best! We've tried several entree's but the one we usually order is the Calamari Steak - Wow! It's in a light, but flavorful lemon caper sauce and so tender. When I haven't had it in a couple of weeks I start craving it. It really is one of the best things on the menu. And they give you complimentary garlic bread that's fantastic. Their blue cheese dressing for the salad is homemade and delicious as well. On top of all that, the staff is friendly and welcoming. Genovese's is our go to restaurant and the one we bring Italian loving guests to.

Very good family oriented Italian restaurant. The entrees tend to be heavy but fairly typical for Italian food. Succinct wine list and reasonable portions and prices in an informal festive atmosphere. This is a true "Italian" restaurant. I had the Lasagna which is not a traditional cut but is excellent. My wife had the Rose sauce which was very good. My daughter had the Alfredo and raved about it. Very conflicted about my visit to Genovese's. Arrived just after 5:30 on Friday. Host motioned us toward a table, set it completely different than we were seated, then left. Kid came with waters and a grunt. Waitress took our drink order and asked if we wanted "early Bird specials...oh wait, you're too late for those...". There were two other tables in the restaurant. I didn't expect Early Bird and didn't come for it. But don't offer it then take it away. A good waitress might have said "Oh, it's so close that if you want them, they are..." She mentioned no other specials, didn't ask if we'd been before, nothing. She came to take our order when I'd gone to the restroom. KT knew what I wanted, but had neglected to ask for Ceasar salad. Facing directly toward the area where the staff congregates, we waved our arms trying to get attention. Everyone there looked dead at us. When we didn't stop, the host finally came over as if he expected to be asked to join us. Um, we just want to amend our order. Salads were nothing to speak of. Their Ceasar is an Italian version. Typically, I've had restaurants tell me that when I've ordered. Garlic bread very generic; nothing special. I LOVED my Veal Genovese... well, all of it except the veal which was oddly seasoned and overcooked (mushy) at the ends. The rest of the dish (egggplant, peppers, mushrooms, red sauce, cheese) was delicious. I'd order it again sans the veal. KT said her linguini w/putanesca was perfect. While we ate, a man came in with his dog. Not a service dog; just his dog. I like dogs. It seemed like a nice dog. Had he been seated near me or anywhere that I could see him, I'd have left. An indoor restaurant is no place for a non-service animal. After our meal, as the restaurant quickly filled up and we waited anxiously to get to our engagement... well, we waited. And waited. Finally the waitress brought us our check. We will go back. I thought the food we ordered was that good. But the service was severely lacking. The host greeted other diners so effusively, after essentially ignoring us, that it was like the Chinese restaurant episode of Seinfeld: "Excuse me, but I know we were here before him" "Oh no, he here all the time. Lives on Park Avenue!" Call my rating "3 stars with a ?". The entrees might merit more than 3 stars, but it was dragged down by the disinterested service and lackluster sides.

Genovese's Restaurant is located about half a block northwest of the Courtyard Square. If street parking is not available, free public parking is available in the parking garage -- which is located [roughly] behind Genovese's. The staff -- who consisted of a husband and wife -- were very gracious and welcoming. For appetizers, my friend and I began with Garlic bread, Fried Calamari, and Mussels Diavolo. All were above average. For the entree, I had the Calamari Steak. The calamari was about 4 oz. large, and was covered in lemon butter and caper sauce. The calamari was very good. However, I do wish that they provided a larger portion considering its cost. After the meal, the owner noted that the Calamari Steak was his favorite dish. I then ordered a Cannoli for dessert. The Cannoli is EXCELLENT. If you visit this restaurant, be certain to order the Cannoli. Appetizers range from about $4 to $9. Entrees range from about $8 to $18. The Cannoli was about $6. I must note that I am a bit surprised by the low ratings given to Genovese's. In my opinion, Genovese's is the best Italian restaurant in Prescott. And it certainly beats the Olive Garden... hands down! Additional Notes: - Most of the entrees are accompanied with a single order of Garlic Bread (refer to the menu).

The food here is red and white tablecloth, red-sauce-and-pasta italian. It's not going to blow you away but it's good--probably one of the best options close to the tourist area of the square. The excellent marinara is the base for pretty much every dish. The pasta really is the star here; chicken dishes and pizza are kind of an afterthought. The service can be disorganized at times, like they can forget orders and bring appetizers and entrees at the same time...and when it's busy, you're lucky to get in and out in under two hours. But if you sit back, relax, have a drink, and accept the italian way of dining it's a pleasurable experience.

We stopped on our way back from flag and loved the little place, kinda. The atmosphere was nice. Upscale Italian with nice murals on the walls. It was lunch time on mothers day, but not that busy at all. There were like 4 other tables besides us. We ordered a medium pizza with meatballs and peperoni and an order of garlic bread sticks. The kids were starving. Well 40 minutes went by and still nothing. 45 minutes and here comes the pizza. They forgot the bread sticks. No big deal. The meatballs were very good. If I go back, I'm ordering something with meatballs. The sauce, cheese and crust were very plain and average. Guess I expected a little more. $25 with tip for a medium 2 topping and 3 drinks.

I wasn't too impressed with this place. Right when you walk in the door you are greeted by a small wall. The wait staff can hardly see you unless they walk up to it. Took a few minutes for them to realize we were there. Then we noticed how busy the place was and only two waiters working. It took over five minutes to even get menus and drink orders. Our waiter was friendly but we saw him constantly running back and forth. My boyfriends dinner was really good. The chicken marsala with cheesy pasta. My dish wasn't that great. Olive Oil, Garlic and Black Olive Pasta. The olive oil and garlic was a bit over done. Was left with a bit of a stomach ache while my boyfriend woke up the next day sick. So probably won't be going back there the next time I visit Prescott.

I feel pity for Genovese's fans because they clearly are not acquainted with good Italian food. The sauce is Prego, no doubt about it. The food is bland, almost tasteless. The pasta is not homemade, the bread looks like it was brought over from the local grocery store. Our meal was a classic Luby's style cafeteria version of Eggplant Parmesian and Chicken Marsala, with the price tag of a Manhattan specialty restaurant. On a positive note, the house wine was excellent. Otherwise, the meal might have been a reheated Hungryman TV dinner.

The meal was great, the aftermath sucked. as pam mentioned I got the chicken marsala, it was great, kind of a small portion of chicken but the flavor was right. Her pasta needed about 1/2 the olive oil and garlic that was on it almost made it seem like a soup. I woke up earlie in the morning unable to keep my food down.

Looking for a nice place for dinner, I was drawn in by the garlic and Dean Martin rich in the air as I passed Genovese's. Some comfort food and maybe a stale italian " pizza song" was just what I needed. As it turned out Genovese's had all this and more. With the kitchen closing in 15 minutes, the order was placed quickly with Joseph, a knowledgeable and friendly waiter (turns out he's worked here for eight years and knew just what was needed). A Zinfandel started the meal, followed by a nice toasted ravioli served with homemade marinara, crisp garden salad with a tart Italian dressing, Entree's of veal, one served with a light lemon caper, artichoke sauce and the other baked with a whole eggplant and fresh marinara. Side dishes of alfredo over ziti were perfect. The music and garlic still lingered as we left with a really good food buzz....or maybe it was the wine? either way we left with just what we were looking for.

We've never had a meal here in less than 90 minutes, but it's always been good. We prepare for a long meal because we know the service is just always slow/very unrushed. The drinks, salads and soups come right out, but then it's always a wait for the entrees, but we know this ahead of time. Angel hair with Garlic... really good- Lasagna and others are good, but we aren't picky italian eaters. We will go again.

This is the best place to get Italian food in Prescott. It is conveniently located in downtown, just a block from the square. Paul B doth lie--the sauce is homemade. Definitely NOT Prego. Homemade meatballs, salad dressings, and high-quality pizza ingredients on a great crust! The business changed hands a few years back and is now run by an Italian family. Items are heavy on the olive oil and garlic, but that is how Italian should be.

My favorite bar is across the street so I have been here several times. Living in the Bay Area has spoiled me with Italian food, we eat in North Beach a couple times a month. This is pretty damn good! Decent wine list and pretty good veal. the staff needs to learn a little more about the menu and choke the sax player that stands in the entry on the weekends, he sounds like somebody is standing on a cat's tail!

I've eaten here once before, but it was a few years ago and a little different than I remembered it. The place wasn't too busy, but we were on the early side of dinner on a Monday night. Service was fine... The prices were a little high compared to the technicality of the dishes. We ordered caprese( generous portions of mozzarella) and two well-garnished side salads w/ Italian(I've had better from a hidden valley packet) garlic bread, and pesto cheese bread w/ mushrooms to start. After seeing a pizza pass by on it's way to a neighboring table, we changed or order at the last minute! Dad got the Lombardi(?) pizza- fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, garlic and Basil. Thin crispy crust and delicious! I ordered the angel hair Picatta... Tasted good... But YIKES idk if the sauce didn't totally emulsify, but as I ate the butter and cream started to congeal and I was left with a pile of chicken, capers, pasta, and cheese on one side and a pool of butter on the other. Like I said, delicious, but not easy to look at! Spumoni for dessert... So good (1 serving was enough for 3 to share) I noticed several people come in to pick up carry-out and desserts. Over-all the experience was good, but I would try another place I haven't been next time i'm in town.

I cannot review this restaurant's food for I never had the opportunity to dine there. I made reservations for six people and arrived promptly for our reservation. We were met by a large number of people waiting inside the door. We felt fortunate to have made a reservation. After waiting a considerate length of time, some of us outside in the cold December night, and without any greeting from a host, inquiured at the bar regarding our reservation. We were curtly told that our reservation would not be honored as they were too busy! We were told that we could wait but it would most likely be in excess of one hour. To add insult to injury, new arrivals without reservation were asked to wait without a waitlist and two groups with reservations were seated before we left . Needless to say this was a very uncomfortable situation for me, as I was hosting this party and had to find elsewhere to go. I will not recommend or give business to a restaurant which obviously is so ill managed and disrespectful of their patrons. Never was an apology or polite consideration given to me or anyone in my party. I regret leaving one star for this restaurant.

Let me start off with the positive the service was excellent. I ordered the stuffed shells and they were good. The wine was good and they are willing to let you sample the wine. Ok now the negative the pizza is horrible the worst I have ever had. I'm pretty sure it was undercooked. I ordered it with ham and it seemed like there wasn't any. The pizza had an overwhelming garlic flavor it was just aweful. Stay away from the pizza unless you love garlic. I would recommend this place for the pasta but do not I repeat do not get the pizza. If you do it'll be like burning your money. So unless your a millionaire I don't know who can afford it. Hopefully this review helps.

It is good typical American Italian food. But nothing spectacular. Just a solid go to. I ordered the mussels diablo (I think?) and sauteed vegetables. The mussels were good and the sauce spicy, how I asked for it. The garlic bread was good as well. The salad was your basic bagged salad. So, ehh. Our waiter was on top of things. Very attentive and informative. And my water was always full. The location is great in downtown Prescott. Definitely a good go to if you are craving Italian in the area.

Wow!! This place is great!! I love the Italian decor, very cozy and warm. Our waiter was awesome, very attentive and checked on us frequently. I ordered the pasta bake and my husband ordered the chicken breast Alfredo. Both came with salads and we both tried the rosemary ranch dressing, holy cow it was sooo good! We also received herb garlic bread which was delicious. Our entrees were amazing! The pasta bake had sun dried tomatoes and spinach, so good. My husbands chicken was tender and also very good. I had been wanting to try this place for a while and now I'm kicking myself that we didn't go sooner! This is definitely one of my new favorites!

Had a fantastic lunch here. Service was great, very professional. The food was excellent. We had calamari and pesto bread for appetizer. The pesto bread was especially delicious. We both chose soup with our meals, I had minestrone, which was good. I had the rigatoni with tomato cream sauce and mushrooms, not bad, but my friend had cheese tortellini with shrimp in Alfredo sauce which was even better. All in all, great portions, very reasonably priced and impeccable service.

Had dinner here last night and the food was good not great but good. Excellent service from the young who waited on us but the tables aren't so comfortable. It would make a difference if they were covered with white table cloth. I had the shrimp manicotti, very nice but the Cesar salad was not well prepared or presented with a very blah dressing. We were in Prescott for 1 night and looked for a place to have dinner. I spotted this joint on the Yelp app. It was a few blocks away from our hotel, so we decided to walk over. After glancing the menu, we decided to order: Gnocchi w/Alfredo Sauce, $13.95 Meatballs (2), $2.95 The Gnocchi was a little overcooked for my taste....they were too soft, didn't have much texture. I thought the Alfredo Sauce was a bit bland as well. The Meatballs were very good and full of flavor. It saved the meal for me. If we come back again, I'll try the Spaghetti and Meatballs. Stumbled upon this place when walking along Gurley St trying to find a good spot for dinner. Genovese's has a quaint feel. The menu had a lot to offer and making the choice of what to get was difficult. I finally decided on the pasta with rose sauce. In hindsight, I wish I would've gotten the eggplant parm, as other Yelpers have indicated it is a good choice. The bread on the table is delish! The salad was nice with a home-made blue cheese dressing. The pasta was meh. A big plus- the service was spot on. Our server was excellent. Drinks (and refills) and our food arrived promptly. I would return to Genovese's if I had a hankering for Italian the next time I visit Prescott. I would be a bit wiser with my ordering though!

Just moved to Prescott about a year ago and have been looking for tasty Italian food..I hit gold tonight. Genovese's is located just off the square. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and made me feel my business is important. Our waiter, Micah was very knowledgable and accommodating. Probably some of the best service I have ever had! The sauces, dressings and even croutons are made in house. The blend of seasonings and care of preparing the dishes is certainly evident in every bite. The veal was tender and tasty as was the eggplant. The stuffed shells were perfectly seasoned and a delight with every bite. Pricing is reasonable for the quality and service. The atmosphere was nicely done. Reminded me of an Italian Bistro in New York. I look forward to coming back and bringing more friends.

Family run and food right from Grandma's kitchen...what more could you want? They have two cute window booths that people almost fight over with a nice view of the street. My own favorite story from here: I once admired the tie my server was wearing, and he gave it to me! This is a nice little Italian restaurant just off of Whiskey Row with a quaint and cozy atmosphere. I had lunch here recently while visiting Prescott and ordered the chicken breast alfredo with an appetizer of minestrone soup. The food was very good. The minestrone soup was quite flavorful, and on a different day, when I just want something light, I can see myself just ordering a larger bowl of this, along with their very good garlic bread. The chicken breast alfredo was excellent and came with tasty artichoke hearts and spinach leaves. I would definitely order this entree again. My only request would be to apply a little less alfredo sauce to the side of pasta. Otherwise, everything was very good, including the friendly and attentive service, and I would recommend Genovese's Italian Restaurant to anyone visiting Prescott.

My first experience in downtown Prescott was here at this restaurant and it was great! I got the pasta with the rose sauce and I thought the sauce was very addictive and the dish on the whole was just awesome. I really like the garlic bread too. I wasn't overly crazy about the Italian salad, but it wasn't bad. In any case the food was excellent overall. The most impressive thing about this restaurant is the wait staff though, as others have mentioned. As I currently reside in the Phoenix area, I am not used to excellent customer service like this, so this was a real treat. The waiters here are very helpful and checked in often to make sure we had every thing we needed and that we were satisfied. I would gladly recommend and return to this restaurant.

August 2011 Took my company from out of town..... mistake! We called ahead to see what time they stopped seating, we were told 8pm. The 3 of us arrived @ 7:45 and were met at the door & told "there could be a bit of a wait on service we just had a group come in"??? Well, being as we were in no rush & looking forward to the calamari steak we stayed anyways (much to his dismay & eye rolling) We walk around the corner to see the restaurant was half empty?! Then @ 8 they ran to the door flipped the closed sign and locked the door. Guess they are making too much $$$?? My Aunt tried to order a salad for dinner to be told they don't have salads @ dinner time. When I suggested they put together a couple dinner salads & maybe some chicken from an entree' I was rudely interrupted with "if you hold on a minute, I will tell you what we can do"! I should tell you that cost was not a concern for us, I would have been happy to pay for 2 dinner salads & an entree' to give my Aunt what she wanted.... they brought her a large dinner salad, no chicken, shrimp..... no protein at all?! REALLY? how hard is a salad? My calamari steak was prepared completely different than it was before - Awful! Won't ever go there again :( If you want Italian food go to Rosa's down the street.

Took my lovely bride here for an anniversary dinner and enjoyed a pleasant dinner in a very relaxed and friendly environment. Dinner began with soft, warm, garlic bread which was an excellent dipping vehicle for the mussels. New Zealand mussels were well prepared and a generous portion for one, nicely shared for two. The salad with ranch dressing and fresh grated mozzarella was underwhelming as was the minestrone soup. Our main courses were chicken Marsala which was above average and the chicken Sicilian was fork tender and nicely done. The three cannoli for desert were very nice and the tiramisu was a must have. Superb service made up for any minor flaws in culinary execution. Worth a visit.

I left there craving it.. and had to go home and make some! My chicken parm came with alfredo sauced noodles.. and I thought I had confused her with my order.. because I had ordered a side of alfredo sauce.. but not pasta! Chicken Parm is to have a linguine or spaghetti.. in red sauce..So high maint as I felt.. I asked for just that.. and got it.. on the house. We got a order of cannoli to go back to our room with.. one bite is all I needed.. I hated it.. Ive had it in Europe and am always wondering why we Americans have to sweeten and chocolatize things that dont need it! At any rate.. We were visiting from out of town when we ate at Genovese's. The food, like another reviewer mentioned, is, "good old, red and white tablecloth, red-sauce-and-pasta italian". With that said, the staff was friendly and this place was crazy busy. I got the impression that there aren't may italian resteraunts in this saloon infested town. One thing I have to mention in case management reads this review: Turn down the music! It was difficult to hold a conversation. The volume of the music was annoying, innappropriate and disruptive to the dining experience. With that said, and off my chest, I wouldn't mind coming back in to try another pasta dish.

a great find! we come to Prescott often as our grandparents have a cabin there and on this trip we decided to have Italian for dinner. Great thing we found Gevoveses Italian Restaurant! I ordered the chicken Parm and the pasta that came with it was Alfredo pasta which i think was delicious by its self!! The chicken parm was tasty however Ive had better. I would still go back to try out the pizza which looked really yummy on the table near us and a bowl of the Alfredo pasta. My husband who is not a pasta lover even said that it was the best Alfredo pasta hes ever tasted. The staff was great! our waiter was really nice and came back quite often to make sure everything was okay. We will definitely be back next time we are at the cabin

This is the first time I've been to Genovese's. but it won't be the last. My husband and I were looking for a place to have a nice Valentines lunch. I checked Yelp and it had great reviews. What a hidden gem we found. We started out with a appetizer. Wonderful. Followed by stuffed shells for me and manicotti for my husband. All I can say is after my first bite, I felt like I was eating my Sicilian Grandmas sauce. The best I've had. The servings were ample and they came with soup or salad. Plus awesome garlic bread. Review is for Tuesday lunch service. I had high hopes for this place as Prescott doesn't have many choices to begin with. The place had decent albeit busy decoration. Service was fast for lunch, and the server was very friendly and attentive. The menu had a lot of choices, but the food left a lot to be desired. Our fried calamari was over-breaded which made it bland. The pesto cheese bread was yummy and fresh, the minestrone was good (and probably over-salted) but not great, and the caesar dressing on the side salad was very greasy; not what I'm used to when it comes to caesar dressing. For our entrees, the baked stuffed shells was nothing to brag about (it was a-ok), and the chicken piccata, although delicious, was doused in an over-abundance of butter. Think Paula Deen but with even more butter. We probably won't be back here anytime soon, but we hope they won't disappoint the next time we're back.

Visited on a Wednesday evening around 7pm. Waitress had about 4 tables and would not make eye contact. After several minutes, another server took our table. Salad was good. Chicken parm was terrible! It was like a bowl of sauce soup with a piece of tired, bland, wet chicken plopped in the middle. No crunch at all. Was not able to even locate the breading. Did not really resemble chicken parm. Pasta on the side was cold. Meat lasagna was also swimming in tons of bad sauce and just fell apart. Lasagna in a frozen box is better. Bland, no balance of ingrediants. Will not ever go back :(

Genoveses is yummy. In fact, I can't get it out of my mind. It's warm and cozy on a cold Prescott night. The eggplant parmesan is the best I've ever tasted. The breads were good, and the wine was a perfect compliment. A little on the pricey The staff was friendly although a bit unkempt looking on the Thursday night that I visited. Great food, nice ambience, but the staff could do a bit more to tidy up and match the classy look of the place. I would definitely come back! In fact, I hope to tonight!!

Still our favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Garlic bread is to die for, rosemary ranch dressing is heaven, awesome tiramisu. Jimmy is a great waiter, always attentive and charming. Will be back again and again because we always feel special after eating here.

This was a nice and cozy little family owned joint. The waitress was extremely nice. We placed an order for take out and not only was the order wrong, they had not closed the container all the way. By the time I got home, all my sauce had been outside of my pasta container. As for price, some of the items were a little overpriced for what it was. The taste was pretty good, it probably would have been a lot more tastier if we had eaten in. Would I come back here again? Maybe one more time just to give it another shot. But definitely NOT carry out!

Those coupons you get in the mail don't count for a discount on carry out BUT of course is says nothing on the coupon itself. Don't think that a take out order is REALLY TAKEN just because you called and spoke with someone. My order wasn't ready three hours after I called it in. My first experience at this restaurant was terrible. I'll taste the food and appraise it separately.

This place is legit? Great food and service. The blue cheese dressing is to die for. Our server told us it was house made and WOW. Our party ordered the lasagne, tortellini with Alfredo, olive pizza and veal Marsala. All were fantastic. The Alfredo sauce was decadent. We will be back!

Decent Italian food Four of us had an occasion to sort of celebrate and we decided to go here Service was terrible initially The waiter eventually got his act together but we waited for fifteen minutes at the beginning of the visit and he made two mistakes right away with what we asked for. Anyway, the gentleman with us who ordered the lasagna could not stop raving about it !!! I had the gnocchi which was pretty good. Two of us had eggplant dishes which were decent. Desserts were good too I think it's a good restaurant but not a great one.

Strangest chicken Cesar salad I've ever had. Fresh romaine lettuce drenched with olive oil topped with strips of unseasoned boiled chicken topped with some kind of Parmesan paste. No flavor of really anything. The menu said salads come with garlic bread but none was served with my salad. When I asked about the bread the waiter said he would bring me an order. One small piece of overdone bread. I wouldn't recommend this dish for anyone!

Best Italian restaurant in Prescott. We love coming here . Stared off with their free garlic bread. We then had their fried zucchini and calamari. It has a light batter and not very oily . We had their shrimp dafravalo with a spicy marinara sauce. For desert we had their tiramiso. Their prices are reasonable about $30 a head including drinks

Usually a great Italian alternative to papas. And typically good food, although their portions seem to be getting smaller over time. Our waitress however brought our whole experience down. Not friendly, and seemed like she was way to busy to even give us our check. After asking and waiting for 20 minutes, I had to get the hostess to get our check. Our waitress had disappeared. Still a good place if papas is full and you have an extra half an hour to wait after dinner to get your check.

Fabulous, authentic Italian cuisine. Italian owned, family operated. Has won "Best Italian restaurant" for 3 years in a row. I had linguine with mussels (10 large, tender, & succulent) in the creamy sauce! Oh my, sauce light, fragrant & flavorful! Husband lived his spaghetti bolanese& tiramisu was wonderful. Meal served hot, not like it's been sitting under a warming light, etc. Service was friendly, professional & immaculate & timely...but, not rushed! Joe, the server, brought me a sample of the alfredo sauce to sample, near the end of meal while waiting for dessert & lemoncello! Hmmmm.....ROSA'S is over-rated compared to this. Great value...3 glasses of wine, 2 entres + 1 dessert & lemoncello = $52 + tip!

I really like this restaurant. I have been here several times and haven't ever been disappointed. This last time was the best. I ordered the shrimp stuffed manicotti which was so good that I finished every bite, which is unusual for me. They have great bread and a good wine list. Everything always tastes very fresh. Service is always very good and prompt. I have yet to try the calamari steak entree, but have heard great things about it from friends. I will definitely come back.

Excellent Italian restaurant. Make sure you try the stuffed mushroom appetizer and the cannoli dish for dessert. You won't be disappointed. We also had the pizza Margherita - which the whole family enjoyed. We'll definitely come back - especially for their light and fluffy cannoli!

The food is meh, not authentic, pretty flavorless, heavey on their sauces and Mozzarella which I say is to cover their tasteless food... ordered their bruchetta bread and was shocked to see they used and served the tiny end pieces, unacceptable. 3 of us in our party didnt like the dinner salad when asked by waitress about it replied they were tasteless, she attempted an argument, but sorry i havd more class than that Ordered their manicotti, served in way to heavey sauce and drowned in cheese when found the actual manicotti it tasted very bland and as good as atore bought frozen, bland. Another ordered the baked eggplant parm, again very tasteless as if from frozen. 3rd ordered chicken picatta and its described as a light & delicate butter, wine & caper sauce when served it was pasta woth chicken drowning in a tasteless butter sauce. She sidnt eat any of it... if you like authentic italian food by pass Genovese's not worth the $60 we paid and that was after the chicken picatta off the bill!.. oh amd their garliv bread absolutly tastless and if i were the chef Id be embarassed!!!!

When I ordered a Caeser salad no croutons and please anchovies, I wasn't expecting much. Wrong! The salad was excellent and even this anchovy lover was satisfied. Two large sausages from the appetizer menu were also just right. I hadn't expected such good food in a small Italian restaurant in a small Western town. My friend and I took a little day trip up to Prescott today and before we left, we wanted to eat somewhere. I look on Yelp at the list of nearby restaurants in the area. We found this little gem not to far away. We go in and it's a quaint little building and we were seated right away. Our server came and brought us our waters very quickly and gave us time to check the menu. We both got the Build Your Own Pasta and the prices on that were really good. It came with a choice of soup or salad and I got the salad. If you like ranch on your salad, then you HAVE to try their homemade ranch. They put enough on your salad that it's not drenched but enough so every bite has some on there. We get our pasta and it's a really good size portion. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. The service was great and the atmosphere was really nice. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely pay another visit there.

This is and always will be my favorite Italian restaurant in the Prescott area. Six of us went for the early bird special Saturday evening. The place was hopping, but wait staff was able to provide excellent service. We ordered appetizers along with our entrees which came with choice of salad or soup along with garlic bread. I ordered the linguini with clam sauce. They give you 3 choices of sauces clear broth, red, or creamy. It was excellent. All of our other entrees ranging from lasagna, spaghetti and sausage, eggplant parmesan we're cooked to perfection. Many choices on the menu. There is something for everyone. Portion sizes are very generous. Family owned, friendly staff, great food!

First off, this place is cozy. The food was very good and so was the service. We came here without having any time restrictions so it made for a relaxing meal. We started with pizza bread which was tasty. I had the gnocchi with marinara and my husband had the meat lasagna. We were both happy with our meal. It's a simple sauce with tomatoes and garlic and it's just how I like it. Flavor without getting to fancy. As we were eating we saw a dog with his owner standing outside the door. The dog looked like he knew someone in the restaurant and proceeded to sit in front of the door wagging his tail and breathing on the glass. Several patrons noticed said dog and we all had a little laugh when the dog laid down in front of the door and would not budge. A few minutes later one of the waiters walked to the door with a bowl and gave the dog a treat. Apparently this dog does this twice a week with the same results. How could I not love a restaurant with great food that allows and adorable dog to stop by twice a week for a treat! I recommend this place for a nice meal, good service and a very enjoyable atmosphere.

Firstly, the atmosphere was a bit boisterous when we had dinner, but in a good way. The staff were super friendly, attentive and a blast. The baked oysters were amazing (I'm normally not a fan) as was the Chicken Marsala). I had high hopes for the pizza, but thought it was average and likely wouldn't order it again. This restaurant use to be great... But the new owner is successfully tearing down the good reputation that once existed. Food ice cold & when you complain.... they get upset & return the same cold dish to you again. Not just for one person in our party but for 4-people. Very sad. And no discount for the cold food. You give up when the people are so rude and refused to come back and help you and hour later. Don't waste your hard earned money there Genovese this is not a place to go any longer!

Very friendly family staff, authentic tasty hand crafted Italian dishes at a good price. Full bar, recommend the Italian margarita with amaretto float... Food was perfectly timed. There are several good Italian restaurants in Prescott but Genovese's is the best! We've tried several entree's but the one we usually order is the Calamari Steak - Wow! It's in a light, but flavorful lemon caper sauce and so tender. When I haven't had it in a couple of weeks I start craving it. It really is one of the best things on the menu. And they give you complimentary garlic bread that's fantastic. Their blue cheese dressing for the salad is homemade and delicious as well. On top of all that, the staff is friendly and welcoming. Genovese's is our go to restaurant and the one we bring Italian loving guests to.

Very good family oriented Italian restaurant. The entrees tend to be heavy but fairly typical for Italian food. Succinct wine list and reasonable portions and prices in an informal festive atmosphere. We had the sausage cacciatore and chicken saltimboca which were both very good if a bit rich but then again I tend to eat very light. The salads were straight forward but very fresh and satisfying. The selection was good and would satisfy most italian food lovers.

This is a true "Italian" restaurant. I had the Lasagna which is not a traditional cut but is excellent. My wife had the Rose sauce which was very good. My daughter had the Alfredo and raved about it. Very conflicted about my visit to Genovese's. Arrived just after 5:30 on Friday. Host motioned us toward a table, set it completely different than we were seated, then left. Kid came with waters and a grunt. Waitress took our drink order and asked if we wanted "early Bird specials...oh wait, you're too late for those...". There were two other tables in the restaurant. I didn't expect Early Bird and didn't come for it. But don't offer it then take it away. A good waitress might have said "Oh, it's so close that if you want them, they are..." She mentioned no other specials, didn't ask if we'd been before, nothing. She came to take our order when I'd gone to the restroom. KT knew what I wanted, but had neglected to ask for Ceasar salad. Facing directly toward the area where the staff congregates, we waved our arms trying to get attention. Everyone there looked dead at us. When we didn't stop, the host finally came over as if he expected to be asked to join us. Um, we just want to amend our order. Salads were nothing to speak of. Their Ceasar is an Italian version. Typically, I've had restaurants tell me that when I've ordered. Garlic bread very generic; nothing special. I LOVED my Veal Genovese... well, all of it except the veal which was oddly seasoned and overcooked (mushy) at the ends. The rest of the dish (egggplant, peppers, mushrooms, red sauce, cheese) was delicious. I'd order it again sans the veal. KT said her linguini w/putanesca was perfect. While we ate, a man came in with his dog. Not a service dog; just his dog. I like dogs. It seemed like a nice dog. Had he been seated near me or anywhere that I could see him, I'd have left. An indoor restaurant is no place for a non-service animal. After our meal, as the restaurant quickly filled up and we waited anxiously to get to our engagement... well, we waited. And waited. Finally the waitress brought us our check. We will go back. I thought the food we ordered was that good. But the service was severely lacking. The host greeted other diners so effusively, after essentially ignoring us, that it was like the Chinese restaurant episode of Seinfeld: "Excuse me, but I know we were here before him" "Oh no, he here all the time. Lives on Park Avenue!" Call my rating "3 stars with a ?". The entrees might merit more than 3 stars, but it was dragged down by the disinterested service and lackluster sides.

Genovese's Restaurant is located about half a block northwest of the Courtyard Square. If street parking is not available, free public parking is available in the parking garage -- which is located [roughly] behind Genovese's. The staff -- who consisted of a husband and wife -- were very gracious and welcoming. For appetizers, my friend and I began with Garlic bread, Fried Calamari, and Mussels Diavolo. All were above average. For the entree, I had the Calamari Steak. The calamari was about 4 oz. large, and was covered in lemon butter and caper sauce. The calamari was very good. However, I do wish that they provided a larger portion considering its cost. After the meal, the owner noted that the Calamari Steak was his favorite dish. I then ordered a Cannoli for dessert. The Cannoli is EXCELLENT. If you visit this restaurant, be certain to order the Cannoli. Appetizers range from about $4 to $9. Entrees range from about $8 to $18. The Cannoli was about $6. I must note that I am a bit surprised by the low ratings given to Genovese's. In my opinion, Genovese's is the best Italian restaurant in Prescott. And it certainly beats the Olive Garden... hands down! Additional Notes: - Most of the entrees are accompanied with a single order of Garlic Bread (refer to the menu).

The food here is red and white tablecloth, red-sauce-and-pasta italian. It's not going to blow you away but it's good--probably one of the best options close to the tourist area of the square. The excellent marinara is the base for pretty much every dish. The pasta really is the star here; chicken dishes and pizza are kind of an afterthought. The service can be disorganized at times, like they can forget orders and bring appetizers and entrees at the same time...and when it's busy, you're lucky to get in and out in under two hours. But if you sit back, relax, have a drink, and accept the italian way of dining it's a pleasurable experience.

We stopped on our way back from flag and loved the little place, kinda. The atmosphere was nice. Upscale Italian with nice murals on the walls. It was lunch time on mothers day, but not that busy at all. There were like 4 other tables besides us. We ordered a medium pizza with meatballs and peperoni and an order of garlic bread sticks. The kids were starving. Well 40 minutes went by and still nothing. 45 minutes and here comes the pizza. They forgot the bread sticks. No big deal. The meatballs were very good. If I go back, I'm ordering something with meatballs. The sauce, cheese and crust were very plain and average. Guess I expected a little more. $25 with tip for a medium 2 topping and 3 drinks.

I wasn't too impressed with this place. Right when you walk in the door you are greeted by a small wall. The wait staff can hardly see you unless they walk up to it. Took a few minutes for them to realize we were there. Then we noticed how busy the place was and only two waiters working. It took over five minutes to even get menus and drink orders. Our waiter was friendly but we saw him constantly running back and forth. My boyfriends dinner was really good. The chicken marsala with cheesy pasta. My dish wasn't that great. Olive Oil, Garlic and Black Olive Pasta. The olive oil and garlic was a bit over done. Was left with a bit of a stomach ache while my boyfriend woke up the next day sick. So probably won't be going back there the next time I visit Prescott.

I feel pity for Genovese's fans because they clearly are not acquainted with good Italian food. The sauce is Prego, no doubt about it. The food is bland, almost tasteless. The pasta is not homemade, the bread looks like it was brought over from the local grocery store. Our meal was a classic Luby's style cafeteria version of Eggplant Parmesian and Chicken Marsala, with the price tag of a Manhattan specialty restaurant. On a positive note, the house wine was excellent. Otherwise, the meal might have been a reheated Hungryman TV dinner.

Looking for a nice place for dinner, I was drawn in by the garlic and Dean Martin rich in the air as I passed Genovese's. Some comfort food and maybe a stale italian " pizza song" was just what I needed. As it turned out Genovese's had all this and more. With the kitchen closing in 15 minutes, the order was placed quickly with Joseph, a knowledgeable and friendly waiter (turns out he's worked here for eight years and knew just what was needed). A Zinfandel started the meal, followed by a nice toasted ravioli served with homemade marinara, crisp garden salad with a tart Italian dressing, Entree's of veal, one served with a light lemon caper, artichoke sauce and the other baked with a whole eggplant and fresh marinara. Side dishes of alfredo over ziti were perfect. The music and garlic still lingered as we left with a really good food buzz....or maybe it was the wine? either way we left with just what we were looking for.

We've never had a meal here in less than 90 minutes, but it's always been good. We prepare for a long meal because we know the service is just always slow/very unrushed. The drinks, salads and soups come right out, but then it's always a wait for the entrees, but we know this ahead of time. This is the best place to get Italian food in Prescott. It is conveniently located in downtown, just a block from the square. Paul B doth lie--the sauce is homemade. Definitely NOT Prego. Homemade meatballs, salad dressings, and high-quality pizza ingredients on a great crust! The business changed hands a few years back and is now run by an Italian family. Items are heavy on the olive oil and garlic, but that is how Italian should be.

My favorite bar is across the street so I have been here several times. Living in the Bay Area has spoiled me with Italian food, we eat in North Beach a couple times a month. This is pretty damn good! Decent wine list and pretty good veal. the staff needs to learn a little more about the menu and choke the sax player that stands in the entry on the weekends, he sounds like somebody is standing on a cat's tail!

I've eaten here once before, but it was a few years ago and a little different than I remembered it. The place wasn't too busy, but we were on the early side of dinner on a Monday night. Service was fine... The prices were a little high compared to the technicality of the dishes. We ordered caprese( generous portions of mozzarella) and two well-garnished side salads w/ Italian(I've had better from a hidden valley packet) garlic bread, and pesto cheese bread w/ mushrooms to start. After seeing a pizza pass by on it's way to a neighboring table, we changed or order at the last minute! Dad got the Lombardi(?) pizza- fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, garlic and Basil. Thin crispy crust and delicious! I ordered the angel hair Picatta... Tasted good... But YIKES idk if the sauce didn't totally emulsify, but as I ate the butter and cream started to congeal and I was left with a pile of chicken, capers, pasta, and cheese on one side and a pool of butter on the other. Like I said, delicious, but not easy to look at! Spumoni for dessert... So good (1 serving was enough for 3 to share) I noticed several people come in to pick up carry-out and desserts. Over-all the experience was good, but I would try another place I haven't been next time i'm in town.

I cannot review this restaurant's food for I never had the opportunity to dine there. I made reservations for six people and arrived promptly for our reservation. We were met by a large number of people waiting inside the door. We felt fortunate to have made a reservation. After waiting a considerate length of time, some of us outside in the cold December night, and without any greeting from a host, inquiured at the bar regarding our reservation. We were curtly told that our reservation would not be honored as they were too busy! We were told that we could wait but it would most likely be in excess of one hour. To add insult to injury, new arrivals without reservation were asked to wait without a waitlist and two groups with reservations were seated before we left . Needless to say this was a very uncomfortable situation for me, as I was hosting this party and had to find elsewhere to go. I will not recommend or give business to a restaurant which obviously is so ill managed and disrespectful of their patrons. Never was an apology or polite consideration given to me or anyone in my party. I regret leaving one star for this restaurant.

Let me start off with the positive the service was excellent. I ordered the stuffed shells and they were good. The wine was good and they are willing to let you sample the wine. Ok now the negative the pizza is horrible the worst I have ever had. I'm pretty sure it was undercooked. I ordered it with ham and it seemed like there wasn't any. The pizza had an overwhelming garlic flavor it was just aweful. Stay away from the pizza unless you love garlic. I would recommend this place for the pasta but do not I repeat do not get the pizza. If you do it'll be like burning your money. So unless your a millionaire I don't know who can afford it. Hopefully this review helps.

It is good typical American Italian food. But nothing spectacular. Just a solid go to. I ordered the mussels diablo (I think?) and sauteed vegetables. The mussels were good and the sauce spicy, how I asked for it. The garlic bread was good as well. The salad was your basic bagged salad. So, ehh. Our waiter was on top of things. Very attentive and informative. And my water was always full. The location is great in downtown Prescott. Definitely a good go to if you are craving Italian in the area.

Absolutely loved this restaurant! We are staying in town for a few days and were hoping for decent Italian food; we found WAY better than decent and will come back the next time we are in Prescott for sure! I had the Chicken Saltimbocca and it was cooked to perfection. The garlic bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on have inside. My fiancé had the meatball pizza, and was so happy with it he is taking the leftovers home for breakfast. The service was quick and very friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. Looking forward to my next visit already!!

Wow!! This place is great!! I love the Italian decor, very cozy and warm. Our waiter was awesome, very attentive and checked on us frequently. I ordered the pasta bake and my husband ordered the chicken breast Alfredo. Both came with salads and we both tried the rosemary ranch dressing, holy cow it was sooo good! We also received herb garlic bread which was delicious. Our entrees were amazing! The pasta bake had sun dried tomatoes and spinach, so good. My husbands chicken was tender and also very good. I had been wanting to try this place for a while and now I'm kicking myself that we didn't go sooner! This is definitely one of my new favorites!

Had a fantastic lunch here. Service was great, very professional. The food was excellent. We had calamari and pesto bread for appetizer. The pesto bread was especially delicious. We both chose soup with our meals, I had minestrone, which was good. I had the rigatoni with tomato cream sauce and mushrooms, not bad, but my friend had cheese tortellini with shrimp in Alfredo sauce which was even better. All in all, great portions, very reasonably priced and impeccable service.

Had dinner here last night and the food was good not great but good. Excellent service from the young who waited on us but the tables aren't so comfortable. It would make a difference if they were covered with white table cloth. I had the shrimp manicotti, very nice but the Cesar salad was not well prepared or presented with a very blah dressing. We were in Prescott for 1 night and looked for a place to have dinner. I spotted this joint on the Yelp app. It was a few blocks away from our hotel, so we decided to walk over. After glancing the menu, we decided to order: Gnocchi w/Alfredo Sauce, $13.95 Meatballs (2), $2.95 The Gnocchi was a little overcooked for my taste....they were too soft, didn't have much texture. I thought the Alfredo Sauce was a bit bland as well. The Meatballs were very good and full of flavor. It saved the meal for me. If we come back again, I'll try the Spaghetti and Meatballs. Overall, it was a decent experience. Return Factor - 65%

Stumbled upon this place when walking along Gurley St trying to find a good spot for dinner. Genovese's has a quaint feel. The menu had a lot to offer and making the choice of what to get was difficult. I finally decided on the pasta with rose sauce. In hindsight, I wish I would've gotten the eggplant parm, as other Yelpers have indicated it is a good choice. The bread on the table is delish! The salad was nice with a home-made blue cheese dressing. The pasta was meh. A big plus- the service was spot on. Our server was excellent. Drinks (and refills) and our food arrived promptly. I would return to Genovese's if I had a hankering for Italian the next time I visit Prescott. I would be a bit wiser with my ordering though!

I was craving good Italian food so we decided to come here. The service was amazing! I really enjoyed the bread and the homemade salad dressing. I ordered pasta with meat sauce. While it was good, the meat sauce was not to my personal liking. I prefer a sweeter sauce. We ended our meal with cannoli. They were amazing! The atmosphere was very romantic and made for a good date night.

Just moved to Prescott about a year ago and have been looking for tasty Italian food..I hit gold tonight. Genovese's is located just off the square. The wait staff was attentive, friendly and made me feel my business is important. Our waiter, Micah was very knowledgable and accommodating. Probably some of the best service I have ever had! The sauces, dressings and even croutons are made in house. The blend of seasonings and care of preparing the dishes is certainly evident in every bite. The veal was tender and tasty as was the eggplant. The stuffed shells were perfectly seasoned and a delight with every bite. Pricing is reasonable for the quality and service. The atmosphere was nicely done. Reminded me of an Italian Bistro in New York. I look forward to coming back and bringing more friends.

Family run and food right from Grandma's kitchen...what more could you want? They have two cute window booths that people almost fight over with a nice view of the street. My own favorite story from here: I once admired the tie my server was wearing, and he gave it to me! Turns out he had worked in a high-end men's department in a previous career and really knew fashion. For an intimate, homey Italian dining experience, you need look no further.

This is a nice little Italian restaurant just off of Whiskey Row with a quaint and cozy atmosphere. I had lunch here recently while visiting Prescott and ordered the chicken breast alfredo with an appetizer of minestrone soup. The food was very good. The minestrone soup was quite flavorful, and on a different day, when I just want something light, I can see myself just ordering a larger bowl of this, along with their very good garlic bread. The chicken breast alfredo was excellent and came with tasty artichoke hearts and spinach leaves. I would definitely order this entree again. My only request would be to apply a little less alfredo sauce to the side of pasta. Otherwise, everything was very good, including the friendly and attentive service, and I would recommend Genovese's Italian Restaurant to anyone visiting Prescott.

Cozy family run Italian restaurant right in downtown Prescott. The marinara sauce on my Chicken Parmesan was a little unusual with a somewhat bitter olive taste. They had trouble keeping up with the fresh bread as the place was packed. Anyway, I loved it overall and will be back next trip!

My first experience in downtown Prescott was here at this restaurant and it was great! I got the pasta with the rose sauce and I thought the sauce was very addictive and the dish on the whole was just awesome. I really like the garlic bread too. I wasn't overly crazy about the Italian salad, but it wasn't bad. In any case the food was excellent overall. The most impressive thing about this restaurant is the wait staff though, as others have mentioned. As I currently reside in the Phoenix area, I am not used to excellent customer service like this, so this was a real treat. The waiters here are very helpful and checked in often to make sure we had every thing we needed and that we were satisfied. I would gladly recommend and return to this restaurant.

August 2011 Took my company from out of town..... mistake! We called ahead to see what time they stopped seating, we were told 8pm. The 3 of us arrived @ 7:45 and were met at the door & told "there could be a bit of a wait on service we just had a group come in"??? Well, being as we were in no rush & looking forward to the calamari steak we stayed anyways (much to his dismay & eye rolling) We walk around the corner to see the restaurant was half empty?! Then @ 8 they ran to the door flipped the closed sign and locked the door. Guess they are making too much $$$?? My Aunt tried to order a salad for dinner to be told they don't have salads @ dinner time. When I suggested they put together a couple dinner salads & maybe some chicken from an entree' I was rudely interrupted with "if you hold on a minute, I will tell you what we can do"! I should tell you that cost was not a concern for us, I would have been happy to pay for 2 dinner salads & an entree' to give my Aunt what she wanted.... they brought her a large dinner salad, no chicken, shrimp..... no protein at all?! REALLY? how hard is a salad? My calamari steak was prepared completely different than it was before - Awful! Won't ever go there again :( If you want Italian food go to Rosa's down the street.

Took my lovely bride here for an anniversary dinner and enjoyed a pleasant dinner in a very relaxed and friendly environment. Dinner began with soft, warm, garlic bread which was an excellent dipping vehicle for the mussels. New Zealand mussels were well prepared and a generous portion for one, nicely shared for two. The salad with ranch dressing and fresh grated mozzarella was underwhelming as was the minestrone soup. Our main courses were chicken Marsala which was above average and the chicken Sicilian was fork tender and nicely done. The three cannoli for desert were very nice and the tiramisu was a must have. Superb service made up for any minor flaws in culinary execution. Worth a visit.

I want SO badly to rate this place higher.. The wait staff is phenonmenal. But I wasnt crazy about the food we ordered. I will say the minestrone.. I left there craving it.. and had to go home and make some! My chicken parm came with alfredo sauced noodles.. and I thought I had confused her with my order.. because I had ordered a side of alfredo sauce.. but not pasta! Chicken Parm is to have a linguine or spaghetti.. in red sauce..So high maint as I felt.. I asked for just that.. and got it.. on the house. We got a order of cannoli to go back to our room with.. one bite is all I needed.. I hated it.. Ive had it in Europe and am always wondering why we Americans have to sweeten and chocolatize things that dont need it! At any rate.. Id go back and just try something else.. because the staff is that nice.. goes a long way these days!

We were visiting from out of town when we ate at Genovese's. The food, like another reviewer mentioned, is, "good old, red and white tablecloth, red-sauce-and-pasta italian". With that said, the staff was friendly and this place was crazy busy. I got the impression that there aren't may italian resteraunts in this saloon infested town. One thing I have to mention in case management reads this review: Turn down the music! It was difficult to hold a conversation. The volume of the music was annoying, innappropriate and disruptive to the dining experience. With that said, and off my chest, I wouldn't mind coming back in to try another pasta dish.

a great find! we come to Prescott often as our grandparents have a cabin there and on this trip we decided to have Italian for dinner. Great thing we found Gevoveses Italian Restaurant! I ordered the chicken Parm and the pasta that came with it was Alfredo pasta which i think was delicious by its self!! The chicken parm was tasty however Ive had better. I would still go back to try out the pizza which looked really yummy on the table near us and a bowl of the Alfredo pasta. My husband who is not a pasta lover even said that it was the best Alfredo pasta hes ever tasted. The staff was great! our waiter was really nice and came back quite often to make sure everything was okay. We will definitely be back next time we are at the cabin

This is the first time I've been to Genovese's. but it won't be the last. My husband and I were looking for a place to have a nice Valentines lunch. I checked Yelp and it had great reviews. What a hidden gem we found. We started out with a appetizer. Wonderful. Followed by stuffed shells for me and manicotti for my husband. All I can say is after my first bite, I felt like I was eating my Sicilian Grandmas sauce. The best I've had. The servings were ample and they came with soup or salad. Plus awesome garlic bread. Service was good. Friendly and always smiling. I love that it's family owned.

Review is for Tuesday lunch service. I had high hopes for this place as Prescott doesn't have many choices to begin with. The place had decent albeit busy decoration. Service was fast for lunch, and the server was very friendly and attentive. The menu had a lot of choices, but the food left a lot to be desired. Our fried calamari was over-breaded which made it bland. The pesto cheese bread was yummy and fresh, the minestrone was good (and probably over-salted) but not great, and the caesar dressing on the side salad was very greasy; not what I'm used to when it comes to caesar dressing. For our entrees, the baked stuffed shells was nothing to brag about (it was a-ok), and the chicken piccata, although delicious, was doused in an over-abundance of butter. Think Paula Deen but with even more butter. We probably won't be back here anytime soon, but we hope they won't disappoint the next time we're back.

Visited on a Wednesday evening around 7pm. Waitress had about 4 tables and would not make eye contact. After several minutes, another server took our table. Salad was good. Chicken parm was terrible! It was like a bowl of sauce soup with a piece of tired, bland, wet chicken plopped in the middle. No crunch at all. Was not able to even locate the breading. Did not really resemble chicken parm. Pasta on the side was cold. Meat lasagna was also swimming in tons of bad sauce and just fell apart. Lasagna in a frozen box is better. Bland, no balance of ingrediants. Will not ever go back :(

I was just passing through town, and used Yelp to find this place for lunch. The quaint atmosphere and prompt service was just the beginning of a wonderful lunch. The baked chicken breast with Alfredo sauce was excellent, as was the garlic bread. This is a family owned business, and my waiter was a grandson of the owner. Just the kind of business I like to support! I hertily recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Italian food!
