I enjoy spending time in a coffee shop doing some work on my laptop which is why I loved Songbird at it's PREVIOUS location. In my opinion they've downgraded quite significantly by moving into a tiny house versus being located next to that art gallery. I'm not sure if this was a cost issue but it kind of made it too cramped for my liking and knocked a star rating off; I really don't enjoy doing work and being inches away from rubbing arms with a stranger. The coffee and tea stayed consistently delicious which is no surprise that it gets busy...but on the downside it poses a threat to seating availability, which I wouldn't want to be that person who has to stand awkwardly in the middle of a small room coffee in hand and no place to go :s I love your coffee and teas, but you should have kept the location where it was! Sidenote: I do love the iced cucumber water that's provided for post-coffee mouth refreshment...beats the lukewarm, funny-tasting Arizona tap that most coffee places provide!

I'm only giving this place 3 stars because it's hot as fuck up in here! I came to have this bodacious babe Payton (who's a 5 star barista) make me a pour over... Sadly I can't enjoy it without sweating (sitting down!!!) I feel awful for the peeps that work here it's literally a sweat shop ...I hope they make a decent hourly for having to endure this. It's 91 in here plus heat from the espresso machine and fridge. Jesus Murphy. coffee beans are on pointe tho

MOVED!!! I guess change is to be expected after Green Haus sold and left. I speak all the time of Phoenix cannibalizing itself and here is yet another instance. A 'once historic' building with irreplaceable artwork is demolished and in its stead (is being built) another monstrosity. Songbird moved south--down the street, into a house. They now have patio space and a yard. Parking is available in the back. They do still have window 'bar' view but not anything like the former location. (This feels a bit like JoBot whereas the other location had the ilk of Lola's.) The owner(s) are very Social Media aware and respond to concerns. My Cortado is fine. Ambiance is fine. Service (as before) is charming.

Typically I won't give 5 stars on a first visit, but because this is just a relocation, I think it is ok. Songbird is awesome. Their coffee is tasty and the new location is adorable. I like that there's parking in the back and a large patio out front. I came here the other day with a friend and we hung out inside. The inside space is a little small, but not uncomfortably so, and the décor is adorable. My latte was, dare I say, even better than ones I have had in the past at the old location.... it was a fairly perfect latte - smooth, creamy, strong without being too strong... it was great. My friend also enjoyed her iced vanilla latte. Of course, I will be back!

I love the vibe at this place. The people here are cool, laid back. The caramel latte is very good and the raspberry bar is simply delicious. You can taste that it was homemade. The whole ambiance and experience here brings me back to the Seattle Coffee Houses. Very nostalgic. I felt lost in time if I let my mind wander here. Update: Depending on who is working when you come, sometimes you get a pleasant experience, sometimes you get a unpleasant experience due to their rude behavior.

BEST AMERICANO EVER!!! This is my favorite coffee place in downtown Phoenix. Their main barista makes excellent espresso and is always really friendly. Their new location is neat, but I'd follow them anywhere they moved because the coffee is just that good.

Never had someone make a Thai tea to order before! This is probably not one of their most popular drinks, since it seems that COFFEE is thing around here. However, my iced Thai tea was fabulous! Freshly brewed, it tastes so much better than the cups you get that have been sitting in a giant pitcher in the fridge for hours. Can really taste the "tea" in it and not just the sugar and milk! Next time, will try the pour over coffee, which looks super cool.

I love coming here to work, the atmosphere is wonderful. The seating area is small, airy, and bright. The staff is very polite, and no one pesters me for working here all day long. Also the coffee is great, and excellent motivation to keep me going. Love the new location!
(5)Veronica M.
Great coffee! A wonderful new location. And a great atmosphere. Will be going back for some great creations of coffee!
(5)Lindsay W.
Just visited there new location which has a different vibe than the last one on Roosevelt but the quality of their drinks have remained the same. My iced coffee was a very refreshing break from the Phoenix heat. There was a small issue with the milk I used but the owner came up to me personally to remedy the issue--very professional and kind. This has a great environment for casual meet ups, business, and personal work you may have.

songbird never disappoints. best coffee downtown and the new location is divine. this morning i read about their new nitro cold brew and decided i HAD to try it. well, it is BRILLIANT. the nitrogen treated brew is like buttah. smooth and creamy and almost stout-like. if you're a cold brew lover, get on it!
(5)Kelsee I.
I really loved the atmosphere here. I'm glad that there are people out there using the historic building around DTPHX. The staff was really nice and I enjoyed the coffee. I got an iced Americano, which is easy to make bitter, but it didn't have any bitter to it at all. Overall great experience!
(5)Elizabeth F.
I am a product fan. Location is not an issue if the stuff is good and this stuff is good!!! The new place is very comfortable, clean, with a touch of classy nostalgia being an historic building. I have not found another coffee/tea house that serves a dirty chai with a kick that compares to Songbird, absolutely the best dirty chai in town for me!!!
(4)Maryanne S.
I'm tempted to say that this place is awful just to keep the crowds away. But it's not. I love it. Everything is good. Especially awesome is the steamed almond milk.
(5)Jeff M.
"life changing" local atmosphere with personable staff!!!! Relaxing and inspiring environment in a historical house converted into a coffee mecca!!! Try the cold brew or a smooth pour over coffee!!! Local and homemade eats with complimenting treats!!!
(5)Dina D.
The cold brew is delicious!
(4)Lisa D.
Best place to get a coffee in Downtown Phoenix
(5)Douglas P.
So happy to see this place open again!! They continue to serve great coffee and the new location is full of charm. They now have a patio with chairs and a picnic table out front! Also, true to their name, the birds were singing in the tree out front!! Welcome back to Roosevelt Row!!
(5)K W.
I got an iced nonfat chai latte that was a mixture of original and spicy chai. It was amazing and maybe one of the best I've ever had. It was just the right amount of sweet and spice. The barista was really friendly and very knowledgable of different teas. The prices are reasonable ($3-$4$. I'd go to this quaint, little shop again! Also, I tried the apricot lavender tea cake for $3 and it was uniquely delicious.
(5)Jennifer P.
This little coffee house (inside an old house) is a gem! We loved the coffee- I had a vanilla latte and my Mr had a columnist pour over. We both got a vegan scone, as well. Mine was a maple walnut (YUMM!) and his was a pear and cardamom (VERY YUM!) such a treat! We sat in the front room by a fireplace and enjoyed our breakfast.
(5)Jonathan E.
I've been coming to this place since when it was located on Roosevelt Blvd. While the location has changed, thankfully, nothing else did. Every visit has been punctuated with delicious coffee and delectable pastries. This is our favorite local coffee shop that does everything right - from coffee to pastries to customer service. FAVORITES: -- Spicy Chai Latte -- Nutella Pop tart - this is the best I've ever had -- Donuts are light, fluffy, not too-sweet and delicious -- Pour-over coffees PROS: -- Great coffee (pour-overs only). So, if you're in a rush, look elsewhere. -- Excellent pastries. -- Cool atmosphere. CONS: -- Not your typical grab-n-go coffee shop. Coffee prep takes time. But, then again, the wait is certainly worth it.
