Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I have dreamt about the chilaquiles for a year now. This clean, casual spot is within walking distance from my friends house where I spent a couple of days last summer. I walked in one day just because it is close and I love local Mexican joints. The ambiance was pleasantly surprising and it is nicer inside than I had expected. The food is classic taqueria fare with tortas, tacos, enchiladas and my beloved chilaquiles. After several very good meals here I have thought about it for the past year while I was on the east coast. Now I am back and it is as good as I remember. Meals tend to run between $6 & $8 and there are lots of Mexican sodas to choose from for $2 or less. The salsa and condiment bar has also been pretty consistent except there are only a few choices.

Pretty good food, chili Verde was a little on the runny side, but no harm. Very small place, maybe 15 booths and a couple of tables

This location is no longer called El Nuevo Taquitos. It has been renamed Tacos Mi Ranchito.

DELISH tacos and everything looks freshly home made. Busy little place filled with workin' men waiting for Big bags of food to go and families with wee little ones out for lunch. The sign says Tacos Mi Ranchito. GOOD spot for a quick stop!

Totally random stop for lunch in some area of town that I had never been before, but it does appear to be in the lower income part of Phoenix. Located in shady strip mall, I chose the random mexican over the random Chinese next door. It turned out to be an excellent decision. The food consumed here was a simple chicken burrito, which was $4.25 plus I added rice for an extra 75 cents. The chicken was cooked nicely, shredded and all white meat (rare for divey Mexican) and packed into a large burrito with the rice, beans (refried), cilantro and onions. A decent salsa bar was also available and the red sauce had a smoky flavor and the green wasn't watery either, but more a guac sauce. Cucumbers, carrots and shredded cabbage also on hand if desired. Some of my best burros in life have come from the worst looking places and areas and El Nuevo Taquito comes through in that respect. Mexican music playing in the background is also always a comforting sign.

If you are looking for Authentic Mexican food that is delivered super-fast, in a clean setting and well priced, then this place is IT! I have been there a couple of times, and it was without a doubt, Delish! The first time I had the Chimichanga, and it was very good, delivered in under 10 minutes. The next time I had the Carne Asada Torta, and it was so amazing that I ordered a second one... They have it all; fresh limes, tasty Salsa, and the food was to die for. The Torta was served on a bolillo bread that was gently toasted, had marinated meat, and also some Jalapenos to spice it up. If you are in the area, don't pass this up. This is fast- food without it being a fast food restaurant. Yummy...
