I really enjoy surprising my boyfriend with special things on his birthday. This year we were both away from each other, in different states because of work/internships. We have not seen each other in about 10 weeks and I didn't know how I would surprise him this year. I contacted some bakeries and A Bakeshop was the quickest to respond. After exchanging some emails with Andrea, I decided to order cupcakes to be delivered to his job. Andrea was helpful, answered all my questions. The process was super easy. She sent me an invoice where I entered my payment online. The delivery was made on time. My boyfriend and his coworkers were happy. I have no compliants.

I love trying bakeries and cupcake shops when I visit different places. A Bakeshop was so cute inside (I loved all the different sizes and shapes of cake stands!) and the girl working was really nice and friendly! I came in later in the afternoon, so maybe it is better in the morning, but their selection wasn't huge. Their website boasted a much longer list of desserts and bake goods than were displayed in the cases. Most of what we got we liked. Cupcakes were moist and the flavor was good. I loved the coconut one! My husband got an éclair and liked it, but it was filled too much, as when he bit into it, a lot of the filling squished out so he didn't get to eat much of it. We also tried the unfrosted sugar cookie (good) and the 7-layer bar, which had a different crust than others I've tried (cake vs. graham cracker) and I didn't love it as much.

All I can say is WOW. I've been looking for a good dessert place in phx for the past year with so many disappointments, but finally I've found my go to bakery. I tried the double vanilla cupcake, which was my favorite bc there is a vanilla surprise in the middle, cookies n cream cupcake, strawberry cupcake, and vanilla macaron. The macaron seemed to be an Italian method which I prefer bc it's not as dry as the French method, but can't say for certain. Any way this place is so good! I'll be comig here a lot!!

A Bakeshop exceeded our expectations and Andrea and her team were amazing to work with! We had a special request for our gender reveal cake and this team delivered without a hitch! They were fantastic at answering all of my questions and creating our custom cake EXACTLY the way we wanted! The team was speedy quick with finishing the cake on our tight timeline. So glad we discovered this wonderful shop so close to home!

It's unbelievable how amazing their baked goods are! The peanut butter cookie was the Best cookie I've ever had; cannolis were unreal; and the cassada cupcakes were fantastic!! Can't wait to go back!!!!

The. cheesecake. The girls are local sweethearts and their passion comes out in every detail. They have cheesecake, cupcakes, cookies, brownies, gelato, coffee, tea and fresh baked bread!! Perfect for a small treat or event!

Another amazing experience here! Great coffee, killer brownies and fabulous ricotta cookies!

I got three cupcakes; strawberry, chocolate and vanilla. I just tried the chocolate one and it was delicious. It was very moist and not too sweet. The frosting was creamy and decadent. I would recommend this bakery and will definitely be back specially to try the salted caramel cupcake. We were greeted by two delightful young ladies that were very pleasant and answered all the questions we had. The decor was absolutely adorable and creative and that alone was worth the visit.

This is a small speciality shop. You will not find the same thing every day. I ordered my mother's birthday cake here in January and OMG we just loved it. They put a lot of care into what they give you. So if you're looking for a great big selection when you walk in, don't bother going here and then complaining about it. Go to Costco instead. If you love small artisan shops then this is the place for you.

Ordered cupcakes and macarons for my best friend's birthday. I live in California, so my communication with A Bakeshop was via e-mail. I was even able to pay for my order online. Excellent response time and communication. The cupcakes were delicious and beautiful and the macrons were AMAZING! Their macarons are much larger than expected.

Amazing treats and cupcakes! I bought a carrot cake and cupcakes for my husband's birthday. They were great to work with, and even could make something in a few day's notice. I also grabbed a "magic bar" while there - it was by far the best I've had! My only complaint is the price - mini cupcakes were a bit pricey. Very good, but they go way too fast! Would definitely visit again.

This place was yummy! Their peanut butter cookies are delish! They also have dairy free gelato that is to die for and the girl working was super sweet!
(4)Justin J.
The staff is super friendly and made me feel right at home! The vintage cupcake is simply TO DIE FOR, dahling.

Great little pastry & gelato shop. The cannoli and eclair were both very good. My wife generally doesn't like French macaroons, these were very good and the texture was perfect. I will be back.

Today, I searched Yelp for "cupcakes" and found this little place. At first, I was skeptical. It's tiny and looks like a hole in the wall place, but the inside is adorable and the cupcakes were fantastic! Extremely moist and flavorful! I also liked that they had mini versions of the cupcakes so I could try two flavors. A+ for A Bakeshop! I'll be back! :)

General Bakery Presentation: This bakery is absolutely adorable! Cutely decorated, inviting, etc. Only downsides being that initially it was a little harder to find and we cruised right past it on 16th Street requiring some maneuvering to get in. Also, as noted above, there is a bakery on the opposite side of the street closer to the Garage restaurant that can make it initially confusing. And finally, be careful stepping in the door, because there is a curb that can be a trip hazard (or maybe some of us are just clumsy??). However, if you can locate it, and make it in the door without falling, this place is definitely worth your time. Staff was friendly, answered all of our annoying questions, and assisted us quickly. Everything, not just the Cupcakes (but of course, we were on a mission for one type of dessert) inside the bakery case looked delicious and they even offer gelato here! Of course you can do costume ordered cakes and bakery items, but the Cupcake selection was also amazing and gave us much debate about which ones to try. Can we say "amazing" any more in relation to this bakery?? Cupcakes Tasted: Banana Cream - Banana cake, vanilla custard and fresh banana filling, topped with whipped cream frosting Triple Vanilla - Vanilla cake, vanilla custard filling, topped with vanilla buttercream German Chocolate - Chocolate cake, coconut pecan filling, topped with chocolate ganache Candy Bar - Chocolate cake, peanut butter and salted caramel filling topped with chocolate ganache Overall Rating: 4.5 to 5 out of 5 Cupcakes (only downside being the refrigeration aspect - see below). Cupcake Break-Down: O.K., you won't be surprised if we bring up the "refrigeration issue" here. However, for the first time in all of our refrigerated Cupcake encounters, these ones actually tasted good! We were initially very cautious when we found out the Cupcakes were refrigerated due to previous experience, and except for a few minor issues (see below in descriptions), these Cupcakes not only wowed us in general, they double-wowed us by their ability to be refrigerated, remain soft, and retain their flavor. AMAZING. Banana Cream: the cake here was a little more dense and tasted like "banana bread", but we have figured out that most Cupcakes touting the banana flavor tend to remind us of banana bread. The Cupcake was easy to slice despite being refrigerated and had very good flavor combination with the cake and whipped cream frosting. The filling was also a very pleasant surprise. Triple Vanilla: Here, the cake was "amazingly" (did we use this word enough?) moist, we enjoyed the custard filling, but unfortunately the topping/frosting was a bit harder from being refrigerated and with attempting to cut the Cupcake for tasting, we "smashed" the cake making things a bit messy. German Chocolate: the cake was excellent, even though it was slightly chilled. The icing was a little harder from the refrigeration, but two of our tasters do not like coconut and even those tasters ate most of this Cupcake if that tells you how good it was (coconut filling and all)! Candy Bar: this Cupcake was also a little harder to cut due to being refrigerated (the lesson being maybe let these Cupcakes sit out a bit, but they are so good, it's hard to wait). However, the mixture of chocolate and peanut butter was amazing (yeah, we need a new descriptor) and made this so far, our "favorite peanut butter Cupcake". Positives: Where do we even start? The staff, the bakery itself, and of course, THE CUPCAKES! Everything was pretty amazing and made this our favorite stop of the tasting day. Negatives: Honestly, the first negative was that we couldn't eat more!! (and that is a good problem to have . .). Again, due to previous bad experiences with every other refrigerated Cupcake we have tried (how many soap boxes have we had on this subject already??), this was the only negative noted, but honestly, so far, this Bakery has been the only place to pull it off! We don't know how they did it, and even though a few of the Cupcakes were initially a little more difficult to "cut through" making things a little messier, everything was AMAZING! General Comments: DEFINITELY worth returning to this bakery (and since our initial tasting, we have revisited for more Cupcakes!). We also recommend checking out their additional bakery items because everything here is delicious. azcupcakegirls.blogspot.…

I can not say enough about what a positive experience I had with these guys today! I called day of- from Los Angeles asking for a delivery to my friend and her new baby. Even though their schedule was packed, they accommodated and delivered 18 beautiful (and from what my friend says, DELICIOUS!) mini cupcakes with a bow and personal message on the box! They were beyond friendly and helpful. Don't send flowers, send cupcakes!!!

Note that they're offering a 10% discount for people who post yelp reviews. It is unfortunate that their promotion may be causing a larger amount of 5 star reviews that one would normally see. The sign near the register just says "yelp us" but I imagine it would be awkward for someone to leave a low star review and then show it to get 10% off their next order. I did not take part in the promotional offer. Pondered whether to give this place a 3 or 4. Parking can be nonexistent though they have one reserved space right in front of their shop. I tried a vanilla macaron and eclair. The white macaron was light, soft, and had a slight chew. It was MUCH smaller (maybe the size of an Oreo?) than French Grocery's but also much less tough/chewy (FG's was very cold though, so perhaps that was the issue). It wasn't as melt-in-your-mouth as Essence Bakery's tiny variety pack macarons I had before, perhaps because it came right out of the refrigerated case. The tiny little eclair's chocolate frosting/ganache swirl was very chilled, and so I didn't get the full flavor from it. The eclair had a nice light and flakey texture, and the custard filling was excellent. Both items were $2 for about two to three bites a piece. It's not incredibly expensive, but it also is solidly a "tiny indulgence" that feels more appropriate as a a cute gift or a treat plucked off a shiny tray at a party, as opposed to a nice after-dinner dessert. I suppose I am more accustomed to the large "this can last me two days" pastry from somewhere like Urban Cookies or AJ's. It doesn't exactly feel like a "good value" when the items are so tiny, but you do get to try several items. The cashier/worker was friendly, though she had to ask someone who I assume was the baker what the eclair filling was. Still, pleasant people and pleasant atmosphere! I feel the packaging and branding could use some work for the prices they're charging. Their plain white paper and brown cardboard packaging could look a lot more marketable with a nice large store logo sticker on it, for example.

I have a new best friend in A Bakedhop. This place is ridiculously good - wow! Our favorites: Oatmeal Cream Pie, Peanut Butter and Ricotta Cookies are TDF. Life changing. I also loved the Italian white layered cakey-thing with light, whipped icing, though my hubby was so-so. Quaint inside, limited seating but perfect to take home. And a side note in response to another review here: 1) didn't know the register sign asked for Yelp reviews. What register? All I saw was the dessert case. 2) Parking does stink. Use the lot across the street and walk across - you're going to need the extra steps after this anyhow.

Very adorable shop! I have had the cake, cupcakes, cookies, gelato, cake pops, and custom cakes they have all been not only pleasing to the eye but incredibly delicious! You wont want to miss this bakery!!

Best Cassata cake ever!!! Every cupcake I've ever had from a Bakeshop has been so delicious! Their cookies and other pastries are delightful as well!

First of all - have you seen the bakery? It. Is. ADORABLE. We used A Bakeshop for our wedding this past weekend and we are SO grateful we found them! Everything was perfect - from our tiered wedding cake to the variety of cupcakes to the entire set up of the dessert table. Our guests were talking about the treats all night and were thrilled when it was finally time to indulge in them. Andrea is AMAZING. Not only were our desserts beautiful, but they were perfectly delicious. I honestly have never tasted such amazing sweets. They are fresh, beautiful, delicious, and inventive. From the second our guests saw the dessert table they were drooling over them.. and they're still talking about how moist and delicious they were! Absolutely recommend A Bakeshop!

Wow! Love this shop! We have used Andrea's bakery for years, before she even had a storefront. She has catered many events for us and always does an exquisite job! She has so much talent and such an assortment of things she can make. Her cupcakes are my favorite in town. To be honest there isn't one thing I haven't liked. Service at her shop is so friendly and inviting. The staff is always smiling. You can tell that Andrea takes so much pride in her business. The decor in the shop is so adorable. Love it. Feels very inviting. You just want to sit on the couch and have some coffee and sample everything!!

Shabby chic furnishings and one table.. Baked goods were solid. Coffee was just ok.. It's kind of pricey and not really fun to hang out in - there's only one table so its kind of awkward..

We had the pleasure of meeting Andrea this weekend at a super bowl party and fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to taste her yummy treats. We had her cup cakes, cookies and I absolutely LOVED her magic bars. I will be sure to pay a visit to her bake shop to fulfill my magic bar cravings and see what else she has in store for my taste buds!

It was my 8 year anniversary with my husband and I planned to go to Sprinkles to get some tasty treats. I ran out of time and figured there had to be a place closer to where I live so I went on Yelp and that is how I found Bakeshop. Yelp really pointed me in the right direction because this is the best baked goods I have ever found in Phoenix. I had pretty much tried or been to most of the bakeries around where I live but this place was unfamiliar, but had amazing reviews, so I decided to just give it a try. I read every single review before I went and pretty much everyone recommend everything so when I went I just decided to get a bunch of random things. I am a baker and my husband group up with a mom who truly should own her own bakeshop because she is the best baker there is, so he is therefore very critical on other baked goods. I went in and just asked the lady to give me her TOP: 3 favorites for cupcakes; 2 favorites for cookies; 2 favorite macarons and the slice of the cake everyone talks about. Our thoughts: Peanut Butter Cookie My husband and I thought the peanut butter cookie was literally a taste of heaven. We have never had a better cookie in our life. Sugar Cookie Definitely the best sugar cookie I have ever had, but nothing competes with the peanut butter Strawberry Cupcake Our favorite of the 3 cupcakes we tried. It tastes like real strawberry; it has the intense strawberry flavor like you just bit into a real strawberry, while having the moist deliciousness of the cake. The cake and frosting is the perfect mix. Vanilla Cupcake 2nd favorite. Best vanilla cupcake we have ever had. So much flavor without the frosting being overpowering. Salted Carmel While still one of the top cupcakes ever, this was our least favorite of the 3. It was more chocolate taste than salted Carmel taste. It was still delicious but the flavors weren't "wow, omg how did they get this flavor" like the other two cupcakes. Macarons Couldn't tell the real difference between the two, but still deliciously perfect. These were probably our least favorite of everything we tried although they are still better than the best things most bakeries serve! Cake Others had recommended it on Yelp otherwise I would have never gotten it. I loved it, but husband was partial to the peanut butter cookie and cupcakes. I really liked the chocolate pieces that would kind of surprise you with each bite. Definitely my favorite cake I have had from a bakery in a long time. The décor The inside is adorably cute. Loved it. HOWEVER, google maps and the iPhone maps app have the location of the store closer to the pool store a ways down 16th St. Unless you know where the shop is located it is VERY HARD TO FIND AND SPOT from the street when driving around. They really need a more noticeable street sign and/or building sign. They also should see how they can figure out adjusting the shop location with google. I literally had to park a couple business down (about a block away, non-connecting parking lots) and walk around trying to find the place. Luckily, Yelp Reviewers made it sound so worth it so I spent the time trying to find it, but I doubt the everyday person would spend time trying to find it if it was hard to figure out.

This shop screams cute..... cute cute cute. It's like a bakery on a movie set, I kid you not. I walked by the shop after lunch and, despite being totally full, I just couldn't not go in... the vintage -y decor and neatly displayed pastries called out to me.... I was doomed. The people who work here are very nice, helpful, and friendly. Their recipes are mostly Italian based, which makes them a little different than other local bakeries. After much deliberation (and I mean MUCH.... like extensive), I tried the brownie and the cheesecake. The brownie looked kind of dry on the outside, but don't let that fool you, it was somewhere between a cake texture and a fudgy brownie texture, certainly not dry. The brownie was chocolatey but not overly rich with chocolate chips throughout. Was it my favorite brownie in town? No (I am partial to a fudgy more chocolatey and rich brownie). But it was very good and if I were in the neighborhood I would get it again. The cheesecake, on the other hand, was fairly awesome. This was no New York cheesecake. It was surprisingly light and airy, not the heavy oh-my-god-I'm-so-full-need-bigger-pants kind of cheesecake you get most places (not that I don't like that too, this was just something you may want to eat with more frequency). It was sweet without being overly sweet and they didn't complicate it with toppings or flavors, it was just a good plain cheesecake. Oh, and it isn't served in slices, it's served like a cupcake.... so cute. Anyway, each dessert cost 3$, so the prices are competitive with other local bakeries. Definitely check this cute little bakery out next time you're in the area. PS they have cupcakes and the flavors change depending on the baker's mood each day.... how cute is that? PPS Can I say cute one more time? Whoa.

I have never been to this bakery before and they were amazing they took my order last minute and did an amazing job I will be using them again for sure

Delectable and delightful! Spot-on prices. This new shop is on the fast-track to greatness. Everything is made fresh and you can really taste the difference. The cassata cake is light and fluffy with just the right hint of cinnamon and chocolate chips topping. Yum! The sugar cookie was a great homage to the classic jar cookie. And the peanut butter cookie was so very rich. My absolute favorite was the fruit tart!... Omg. The buttery, sugary treat just melts in your mouth and draws out the fruit icing topping. Absolutely delicious! The gals here aim to please. I was encouraged to taste a free sample of anything and everything. They really want to know what people like and how their treats appeal to their customers. Bravo! Also, props to the Bakeshop for serving Grateful Spoon gelato. Always is thumbs up! The pricing here is perfect. You will be in the $1-$3 range for a single treat and that's the way it should be. No need to pay five bucks for a treat weighing just ounces. Candace and Andrea were so welcoming and warm. I had a blast enjoying all the Bakeshop has to offer.
(5)Jennifer S.
Wow - I love this place! Super quaint decor, friendly staff and an excellent selection of sweets - cookies, brownies, cupcakes, gelato...the list could go on and on. How can you ever decide what to choose? The saving grace was knowing I would be back again soon to try other delicious sweets. We tried two mini cupcakes (candy bar & raspberry), a large pumpkin cupcake and a pumpkin cheesecake...all to die for!

Having recently moved to Phoenix, I was completely lost at where to begin looking for a local bakery. Luckily I found this scrumptious gem! Andrea and her team couldn't have been more fabulous to work with when putting together my custom cake order! I can't wait to return to try more of their baked goods!
