Yes, it is Kasa with a K, not a C. That surprised me as well. Kasa Mia is visible from the street, though you'll probably pass the narrow drive way that is just pass the backside of a parking lot for a closed business that is blocked off by chains at least once and have to go around the block before you figure out how to get to the large green building. Apparently it used to be some kind of machine shop, which makes sense when you see who all the neighbors are. The inside space is large, with lots of space between tables. There's a huge bar with a pretty decent selection of alcohols. But we did have to specify what kind of whiskey we wanted, and we did have to repeat ourselves when ordering Grand Marnier. In fact our server had to get another of the servers who was more comfortable speaking English when it came to the liquor orders. The rest of us got beers - Negro Modelo on draft and Pacifico in the bottle. We were given chips and two kinds of salsa - one was more pureed and one was chunky pico. The server said that the pico was spicier, but the consensus was that the pureed stuff was spicier unless you specifically spooned the jalapenos from the pico onto your chip. Also the pico had soy sauce in it, in case you were wondering. I opted for the tortilla soup and carne asada. Not very adventurous, but then again, those two things are usually pretty good. The tortilla soup was ok - pretty salty, needed the salsa from the chips to flavor it up, but it did have good chunks of avocado in it, and that makes up for a lot in my book. The carne asada was nothing special, and a little tough. Decent food, nice space, inexpensive. And if you're in to that sort of thing it sounds like they have some pretty lively parties - there's a foam party currently advertised.
