Its an experiences that you can only have it with the locals, I go to Nogales get my haircut and feed my face which, guided by my friend who just finish my haircut then asked me "Are you hungry?" its music to my ears. He took me here and I was so excited the whole time...I cant even. As we made the turn at the side street where is no signage (or maybe there is one but I don't remember, oh well ~ I am sure none of you guys care anyway) we greeted by the owner (they must by good friend) we chat (not really, they chatted, I can only smile and nod) then they were telling what is good and so on and so for. I still doing the smile and nodding (they might think I have some sort of problem with my neck...) I sampled 4 different drinks (tamarindo was my favorite). had sea food soup, shrimp ceviche. tacos. and owner gave me some of their special hot sauce that comes in the small jar (some other customers were watching...I was thinking... Ha! you can't have it! its only for Joe). The coziness of the place is from the food to the owner. If you guys ever around Nogales its a must tried. and of course a meal is not complete with a dessert so I had their homemade flan (my friend can't eat it anymore so I have the whole thing to myself...muhahaha) They have a faucet and sink by the entrance...so wash your hands before you proceed! Love that idea!

This was a hole in the wall, but 1000 years later they fixed up the place Hahaha. Now it has ac, and its comfortable, opposed to what it was on a hot day. I've been coming here for years. My dad was a big fan, and I think I'm being generous with four stars, it maybe the nostalgia. This place has become somewhat of a Nogales staple. Legendary for those looking to cure a hangover. They have tongue, head (cheek, neck meat), breaded shrimp tacos. They also have birria, and other soups. Greesy, fatty, goodness. My favorites are the slow cooked head and tongue tacos. They're juicy, with a big, bold beef flavor. You will need a napkin! They have a little bar with cilantro, onion, cabbage, limes, etc.. I happen to like the house salsa, which they have at every table. This place is good, solid, they've had the same recipes for years. Don't want to cross the border for some good street cart type tacos, come here!

Tourists from Northern California, we found this place on Yelp. The directions took us to an auto body shop. Next to it is this hole in the wall. Authentic, fresh from scratch food. Delicious. What a find. The owner was gracious and explained the menu. They offer what's fresh, which means the whole menu isn't always available. We had seafood soup and a variety of tacos. The food came out fast. This place is great. Not a formal restaurant. Plastic forks. But the food is awesome. Gracias.

4.5 stars for this place is a joke!! On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, this place should be a 9.5 !! Absolutely sensational food in a town known for its scarce offering of decent places to eat. Anyone who eats here and gives a rating other than 5 stars is in dire need of professional help!!

Well they are right about the drive in ...... gravel road along car repair biz and funeral parlor and ....... looks like ??? where the hell am I going ??? Okay so I got past all that fear. It is a fun little Tacqueria - but ...... if you want the clean bathroom you have to walk through the kitchen .... the kitchen gals were all looking like - Are you old white people Lost?? Ah, banos, si .... Well the owner came over and sat down with us and explained the menu. They make everything from scratch on the menu. All soups are cooker there - fresh. We got an accidental Guac instead of just Avocado - it should be on the menu - was a bit picante - yummm. The tacos are good and very cheap. Fish taco with just Guac - Oh Yummmm to the Max. Beef taco - good. He gave me a beef cheek? taco to sample - wow, sweet meat and delish. Horchata is very nice - edge of sweetness. Made there with chunks of cinnamon. Cebada - this was new to me. Very good, oaty goodness. I will go back when I am down there in Nogales, AZ Owner said he is going to open a place in Rio Rico, AZ. The menu is small but the food is very good. There is bar of refrigerated stuff to dress up your taco..... and I did .... haha.

My favorite place in Nogales!! Their Shrimp tacos hit the spot every time. Their toppings are always fresh. Pair it with a Mexican Coke and it's a great day!! Wish they had longer hours.

Secret gem! Nearly impossible to locate unless you're a local- but I found it. Highly recommended by people at work, I decided to check this plack out. It's kind of like In-N-Out in the sense that the menu is very limited but they put a lot of TLC in the items they do offer. I had the fish tacos and the 'tacos of the head' or tacos de cabeza. Both were very good. And there is a bar of condiments inside so you can sup-up your taco how you'd like it. Also, it's only open for lunch. I went back during lunch to get the seafood soup. Someone else had gotten it and it was amazing with all of the fresh cilantro. Just as my mouth and tummy prepared for the delicious broth, I went to pull the door and it was CLOSED! It's closed on Tuesdays?!? Consider yourself warned :)

We only spent the day in Nogales, but I'm happy to report that the one place we ate was fantastic. It's a small building and the menu is humble, but the food and service knock it out of the park. Way too often when eating "street tacos" you're dealing with poorly made / shoddy tortillas. These were fantasticly chewy and delicous. I had both the fish and the shrimp tacos (complete with mayo / hot sauce + other abundant condiments available) and washed it down with Coke out of a glass bottle - which, let's be honest, always tastes better. If you're in Nogales for any reason, stop by for a bite - you won't regret it!!

This is like a "Where's Waldo". The restaurant is nestled back in an area that can't make up it's mind whether it's an industrial park or older home area. Maybe a bit of both!! It's a real gem if you want true Baja style Mexican food. The folks that run the place were all attentive and seemed to enjoy everyone that was there.....local and non local's alike. It won't make a Zagot rating, but in my book....it's worth the stop to get a menu that doesn't compare to Taco Bell!!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
