This is amazing Mexican food. When my husband, my in-laws, and I go shooting at the Lion's Club shooting range, we always go to La Casita. It has an "A' on the health inspection. The waitresses know us by name and always ask how everyone is. I love the consistency of the food; I have yet to have a bad meal.

Love love love this place for the authentic food. Am I crazy to go there just for tortillas? Maybe but once you try them you will know what I'm talking about. They are huge and thin and buttered, hot and delicious. They are almost like a delicate pastry that you have to fold over a few times to eat. Their chile relleno is the best- I'm sure it's fried in lard but I don't care!! Don't come here if you want bells and whistles just go for real Mexican food and a long drive

Had I not been told how wonderful this place was, I would probably not be as disappointed as I am. It's not that the food was bad, it just wasn't good. The salsa was watery and tasted of ketchup. The Corn Tortilla Cheese Crisp was exactly the kind of thing I make in about five minutes at home when I am feeling lazy. The Guacamole was thin and watery, with nothing to suggest that it came from actual avocados. The Cheese Enchilada was remarkably un-noteworthy - Amy's frozen enchiladas are actually better. The Chile Relleno was doughy and bland. However, the worst was the Beef Taco, which was certainly large enough, but filled with a sloppy mess of watery refried beans, a little cheese, and exactly three chunks of meat large enough to be identified as such. To be sure, there were a few shreds of meat sort of strewn inside, but these were more like the shreds that are left over after the cook has carved up the real bits. And the whole thing, with a Pacifico beer (the only authentically Mexican part of the whole meal) was $18 (plus a tip for the equally mediocre service). I would not call the experience terrible. I would, however, call it totally unremarkable and little different from the hundreds of forgettably mediocre Mom & Pop Mexican Restaurants I have eaten in from Brownsville to San Diego. SO - If you find yourself in Mammoth Arizona, and you are hungry... and recognizing that your choices are extremely limited... go north on 77 about another mile and eat at Tortillas Mi Pueblito instead. The food is better, and so is the service... and you will pay about half as much.

The service has gone way down hill. The food is okay bit the location in San Manuel is much better. The place feels dirty and people are not that friendly. I ordered a chimichanga and it was not completely fried and the meat was cold. Not the first time this has happened. After this try I'm pretty much heading north.

My hubby's family lives near by & whenever we visit, we must stop at La Casita. I love the cheese crisps here! You can get them plain or with toppings like chili.

If you are looking for a place that has great decor, professional service, or a place that will leave you in awe, dont come here. If you are looking for mindblowing good mexican food that tastes as if your nana made it, then this the place for you. This place has been a delicious staple of the area for years. Such good food and very moderately priced. Order the............ Im headed there now to order the Red Chile Plate

One star is for the server being nice....the lack of stars is for the horrible food. They got my moms order wrong which is somewhat an honest mistake that happens sometimes. I ordered the green chili chicken enchilada and chicken taco. The enchilada had chicken and beef...not sure where the one chunk of beef came from? The chicken taco was disgusting you can tell the meat is frozen and probably had freezer burn. It tasted like powder and grit and disintegrated instantly. My nephew bit into his taco and experienced the same which was was mainly beans but it also was gritty and not appetizing. We left without eating our tacos. The food was overpriced for being so badly. As I write this I'm nauseous and never going back. Carlotas in Catalina is a hundred times better!!! Bad decision on a rainy day, the only reason we came here was because we didn't want to drive far in the rain. Ugh

This is my favorite Mexican food of all time ever! Their chili rellenos must be made by gods I swear. And the buttery goodness of their tortillas is unmatched in my book. Oh but wait! The real treat is their 1/3rd green chili. I have eaten it since I was in middle school and still crave it all the time. The prices are crazy cheap. Food is almost always prompt. the waitresses are relaxed yet always on top of it :) wonderful wonderful food! I love. Can't say enough.

This is the real deal when it comes to Mexican food. Sick of Serrano's, Garcia's, and the rest of their ilk? About 100 miles SE of Phoenix, you'll find this gem of a restaurant seated up on a hill overlooking the valley where the very small town of Mammoth resides. The food, the view, and the interesting people all make for a very enjoyable experience. Picking up grandma has never been so delicious (unless she made lunch of course). Real red chili. Real machaca. And real tortillas (not that pasty, doughy garbage you usually find).

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
