Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Food was AMAZING!! We walked in and wasn't sure if we're suppose to sit ourselves or of they were seating us. But once we got closer we were told to sit ourselves. The atmosphere was very inviting and loved the decor of the restaurant. We ordered and our food came out in decent time. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. He gave us lots of suggestions that we took. The food was absolutely delicious and it felt real authentic. This was quite a surprise to find here in Kingman, AZ When I drive through again I'm definitely stopping in!

Wow! My husband and I drove into the area from San Diego to see the Red Rocks and Grand Canyon - on our travels back we stopped in Kingman and stopped in for a nights rest and dinner. Thankfully we found this place!!! The staff is expectational friendly, clean and warm ambiance and probably the best Mexican food we have ever had. No joke. The fajitas were seriously the most authentic fajitas and tasty. Large portions and strong drinks (the margarita had three of tequila) again. No joke. So happy we chose this place over the others. We Oysters Mexican!
(5)Chris L.
Always great food! Try anything seafood the best I've ever had! Love coming here for a night with my wife.
(5)Kim S.
Had a wonderful meal here tonight. Arrived ten minutes before closing, phew! Service was friendly and fast and the food was delicious. Ordered the Camarones de la Diabla with a green salad. The shrimp were incredible and hot and left my sinuses clear and my lips tingling. The salad was a cool and refreshing addition filled with fresh tomatoes, carrots, cabbage, cucumber and cheese. The salsa was flavorful with nice heat. While they serve Pepsi products, I was thankful that bottled coke from Mexico was available as coke is my beverage of choice. Dinner was so good, I'm considering returning tomorrow for a repeat before heading out of town. YUM!

I was here a few months ago and waited over an hour and a half and still weren't served, but not before paying for our drinks. So today I decided to give them another try and the waitress was so disrepectful and said we walked out! I said, " we waited an hour and a half!!!" She said that don't matter! Well it does! We won't be coming back! !!!!!
(1)Kinga S.
Excellent food, came out fresh and delicious. Service was a little slow for a Saturday afternoon but otherwise excellent customer service. Strong frozen margarita.
(4)Hector V.
I heard a lot about this place. Finally decided to try it. Place was little gloomy, and it was very warm. Only two waitresses working so they were in a hurry and could not spend time with you to explain the menu. What we ordered was ok, not the best I've had. The only good thing was the cocktail and the shrimp cocktail.
(3)Richard W.
Excellent service. Diverse menu. If I could give it 4 1/2 stars, I would. Want 5 stars? Improve your kids menu, offer black beans (and maybe some other healthier options), and do a litttttle better on keeping drinks fresh.
(4)Deana I.
In all my years of eating out, this was the first time I ever had to walk out of a restaurant due to the rude behavior of the Waitress. Went to eat with 3 other people. First we were told they weren't open yet, although the door was unlocked and it was 11 am when they are suppose to be open. Set down, was told we could not set there and to move, ignored us, then came over and threw the menus on the table at 11:10, When I asked what the days specials were, I was informed to go look for myself, they were on the board outside. I could have possibly overlooked it all if she wasn't such a B***H to us! Wow! No Thank YOU! What a shame too, because this was not my first visit, but it surely will be my last.

Located in the middle of a way from Vegas to Flagstaff, Kingman is our usual spot to take a break and have a meal. This time on our way back from Sedona, we stopped at Oysters Mexican & Seafood and glad we did! They seemed like a locals favorite, definitely not a tourist trap. Their seafood selections are enormous, we spent good 10 minutes to examine the menu entirely. We decided on camarones rancheros, seafood fajita and guacamole. All excellent. Oysters Mexican & Seafood is going to be our pick when we travel on I-40.
(4)Pam S.
Just traveling thru Kingman and needed a good meal, what a suprise. We ordered the seafood platter for 2.. oh my it was so good, could have fed 4.. highly recommended
(4)Shawna N.
Awesome Mexican food. Best chile reno I've had in a very long time. We thought service was a little on the slow side and then the server told us it's because the renos are made fresh to order! You can taste the difference. We will Definitely visit again.
(5)Paul S.
Ordered a campenchana cocktail for 14 dollars. It was 80 percent onions cucumbers and tomatoes. Flavor was ok but not much seafood. Server was nice but slow. Too many people for one server.
(2)Sandra O.
Our server was inexperienced and rude. The food was not that special. There is definitely an ambience to the place and it appears to be a favorite with locals. Other people seem to have had a really good experience here. I would be willing to give it another try to see if a different server makes a difference.
(2)Amy S.
I'll start out by saying that I love their food but the service is terrible. We have went here several times over the past year and half and it takes a ridiculous amount of time (an hour to an hour and a half) to get your food. I have seen the waitress (one in particular) delivery the wrong food to people over and over. She brought the wrong order to my husband then got into a screaming match with him. It was really embarassing. We will not be back.
(2)Jason B.
If you are looking for Mexican food in Kingman this is the best we found. We started out with the queso, which was a bit thinner than expected, but very tasty. For the main course we ordered the carnitas and enjoyed them. Grilled veggies, beans, and rice accompanied the entree, which was served with piping hot corn tortillas. Price was in line with expectation, and margaritas were good! Two stars is not good for me, but great for Kingman!
(2)Char G.
Stopped here while looking for a hotel room. I40 Closed due to weather. Took a while to be seated but that is okay because it is New Years after all and the weather. We got drinks and chips. Mine a margarita and my guest got tea. We sat for a bit and went to the bathroom. When we got back to the table. The cleaned off everything. No drinks no chips. What in the world. It took about 15 mins to get reserved on everything. The food is fantastic and the people who work here are nice. I'm only giving 4 stars because they bussed our table before we ever got dinner.
(4)Andrea S.
Delicious Food, good Service and big Drinks. I taste the Taquitos Mexicanos wich were very good. The Margaritas was soooo good! I like this Restaurant and when I'll be back in Kingman I come here again!
(5)Lora K.
Food is exceptional. I love their enchiladas suiza....so good. Blend that with one of their amazing margaritas and it makes for a fantastic meal. They even threw in complimentary tequila shots tonight. Yum. I love this place. Just really could use some air-conditioning and I'd give it five stars.
(4)Michael B.
So much better than El Palacio. Good food with authentic taste. Best option in Kingman.
(4)Debi F.
I would give this place 10 they have the BEST margaritas ever!! We arrived just in time 6pm on a Friday night. We sat and enjoyed our meal and drinks while people just flocked in. Never an empty table since we sat down. People were constantly at the door waiting. Excellent Chimchanga & burritos! Next time we are in area we will step in again. This one got marked in my map - must stop authentic Mexican food!!! Can you say AWESOME
(5)Deb S.
Oyster's was one of the few places open on a Sunday night. Surprising that other TripAdvisor reviews are so positive as we would NOT come back. Service was very, very, very slooooow - and they were not that busy. We waited at the front for a while before someone told us to sit wherever. Some chips and dip showed up more than 10 minutes later delivered by a woman who could not speak English. We'd been there more than 20 minutes before a waiter asked if anyone had helped us (he had been sitting visiting with locals most of the time so we didn't realize he was a waiter). He brought us water and menus. A full 45 minutes from the time we walked in the door, our food was served. The margarita on the rocks was good. We tried basic items like taco salad and enchiladas and they were also what you expect in regard to flavor. Large sized portions, general Mexican food, nothing to write home about except for the red sauce which was savory and flavorful. Our bill was more than $40 for two people which is more than double our local Mexican places, but it isn't just this place, it's this area.i

Driving through and spent a night in Kingman on our way from California to Texas. Looked on Yelp and found this lovely spot. The margaritias are absolutely delicious and huge, the waitress was friendly, welcoming and darling. The food, absolutely incredible. Had the shrimp quesidiallas and carne asada tacos and they were all delicious. Prices were terrific also. Can't recommend enough, enjoy!
(5)Coral S.
Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was here. Very spicy and fresh with a great variety of options. Plus the margaritas are super strong!! If you're in town for a visit, or are a Kingman Native, definitely try this place out!!!
(4)Nancy S.
You don't have many choices in Kingman so after reading the reviews I decided to stop in here. I actually drove past it looking for a restaurant when I decided to use Yelp for assistance. It's easy to miss, located across the hill top motel. We just missed a big crowd. As we parked, a lot of classic and vintage cars were just leaving the parking lot. Being a seafood Mexican restaurant I thought I'd encounter a fishy seafood smell but to my surprise it was really clean and no seafood odors. It has a neat collection of Mexican art and decor. Mirrors and artwork were dust free and very clean. The salsa was really good and I ordered the taquitos which were yummy. I wish I had ordered a side of sour cream and guac as it was very tasty. My boyfriend ordered the enchiladas which he thought were homemade tortillas. I didn't try it, but he seemed to enjoy his food. His only complaint was that the cheese wasn't completely melted but overall a good experience. I also ordered a Piña colada. See pic. Our server was attentive and friendly. Would eat here again.
(4)Kathy F.
Enjoyed their chili verde and the grilled shrimp on skewers! Portions big but very tasty. Great side salad with good presentation and not just lettuce from a bag plopped on a plate. Will be our first stop next time in Kingman AZ.
(5)T B.
Took a bit to find this place as it's set back from the road and doesn't really have a highly visible sign. But well worth the find. The beer was cold and the food was delicious. Had the Vincent Special and it was rather large but I finished it. Wasn't going to let it go to waste. Seems like a family run affair, and they do a great job.
(5)Jennifer H.
Great food. Fresh, great service! I LOVE the staff, feel like family! Food is freshly made and a served hot.
(5)Zoe G.
Came to Oysters with a party of 12 and surprisingly was seated very quickly!! We were very impressed as they were very busy to begin with! But this positive impression did not last, unfortunately. It took 10 minutes for our drinks to be ordered. Then, it took 45 MINUTES, NOT JOKE, for them to ask us what we wanted to eat. We were beyond starving, and wanted to leave so badly, but there were no more restaurants open nearby that looked satisfying. It then took another 45 minutes for our food to come. Yes, we were a party of 12, but together that was 100 minutes we had been there before we got our food. WE DID NOT GET REFILLS because our waitress did not come back to see how we were doing. We left giving no tip. Sorry, not sorry!!!

My sister and I stopped in at Oysters Mexican and Seafood and were delightfully impressed by the beautiful interior or this establishment. I ordered a margarita and my sister had a Stella on draft. Both delicious. My margarita was fresh and tasty and had a nice little kick. We ordered a cheese crisp and it was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The salsa and chips were great as well. We decided to split a two taco dinner and were again impressed. The owner's husband is the cook of this family restaurant and he is terrific. Our service was fast and friendly and we are planning on going back the next time we're in Kingman. I highly recommend this restaurant!
(5)Ajontee W.
At first it looked a little sketchy, BUT they were nice, but it was busy and they only had 2 waiters and at points our tables and a few others were just looking around like ?? All the food is homemade Mexican. I don't recommend the sea food. I did order one plate but the waiter misunderstood me and gave me something else, but lucky that plate was good as well. Some what.
(3)David B.
This is my favorite restaurant in Kingman. Tonight I tried the fish tacos at the recommendation of the server and was pleasantly surprised. The meal was delicious and the server was very pleasant. I would recommend this restaurant to travelers.
(5)Natalya C.
Picked Oysters based on good star ratings and it was conveniently located near by the hotel we were staying at on our way to Havasu Canyon. Not much to look at on the outside but the interior is very vibrant and authentic, decorated with Mexican novelty items on the walls. Salsa and chips came out right away, so as our drinks. Its kind of a pet-peeve i have when the menu doesn't have prices on drinks, so you have to ask for every item. I found their drinks, especially margaritas to be very overpriced - $11 for margarona. The menu is huge, tons of specials, dinner combos and so on. My friends got a mixed fajita, it was a heaping skillet filled with veggies, meat and prawns. I got a simple dish with shrimp sauteed with veggies and cheese on a bed of rice and beans. All dishes were flavorful, authentic and it tasted like a home cooked meal. The service was quick, very attentive and polite. If you are passing by thru Kingman, i highly recommend to stop by Oysters Mexican.
(4)Chuck G.
The interior decor is really nice, they did a really first class job of redecorating! The food however needs the same redoing. My wife ordered the Chiles rellenos and found them wanting. She had me taste them and I found the chilies to taste more like squash than chilies, they hadn't any flavor. I had the Camarones a la Diablos. It had much better flavor than my wife's rellenos, but I noticed that the legs were still attached and the shrimp hadn't had their little poopers removed (devained.) The refried beans tasted much like they came canned, the rice was pretty good. The waitress seemed very hurried (a surprise since there was only one other booth with people) and she asked the right questions at the right time, but didn't seem to wait for an answer. She would swoop over and ask if we needed anything and fly away before we could answer. To sum it up: Better than Taco Bell, but not much better!
(2)Dennis T.
Had a great dinner at Oysters. Service and the food was excellent and we were so glad that our front desk person at the Best Western across the street recommended it. I would highly recommended this place if you are passing by Kingman or staying in Kingman.
(5)Calla Lily V.
THE boyfriend had some business to do in Kingman yesterday, so I yelped Kingman restaurants and up came all the fantastic reviews of Oysters. Arrived around 4:00 and there was a decent sized crowd already there. Walked in and loooved the decor! Sat down and chips and salsa came immediately. Ordered a glass off wine and that came out fast also. THE boyfriend ordered the seafood molcajete and I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp, since they are supposedly known for their seafood ... we definitely would NOT order any seafood again. The seafood molcajete is a big lava stone bowl which came out bubbling with broth and a mound of ONIONS, ONIONS, ONIONS and seafood which included crab legs, shrimp (some with heads, some headless), teeny weeny (the size of your pinkie nail) bay scallops, mussels, a couple of baby octopus, some fish, and what i think were some strips of calamari. It looked impressive ... but sadly wasn't. My bacon wrapped shrimp ... I kid you not (and I'm not exaggerating here) was like bacon wrapped shrimp jerky. They should either precook the bacon a little bit first or use bigger shrimp, because when you throw those two things into the fryer it cannot stay in there long ... hence "jerky." It was awful. We also ordered a carne asada plate to go. I really can't give a fair rating for the carne asada plate because by the time we ate it, it had already been in the fridge. A lot of the reviewers complained about the service. Yes, we waited a bit longer than usual to get our bill, but to their benefit, it was packed by the time we left. They were definitely hustling, taking orders, giving out bills. They were very pleasant though. I would like to go back ... but only to try their mexican food.
(2)David O.
Came after a trip to havasupai upon the good Yelp reviews. Lucero, our waitress was awesome and had great suggestions. I had the Krida Kahlo special. The chicken was moist and seasoned expertly. Tender spinach leaves and topped with melted cheese was a hit. Our party also got the seafood fajitas and chicken burrito which were delicious. Don't judge a book by its cover. Wasn't expecting the beautiful interior from the rather dismal store front. The ambience is fantastic and service and cooks don't get better.
(5)Beezy G.
Came in on a Saturday night around 6pm and it took a while for us to get and drinks or acknowledgement of our waiter. It really looked like they were short staffed for a weekend. We ordered a dozen oysters and I was worried that they would not be fresh but they were surprisingly good and fresh. The beans and rice were really good and the salsa they serve with the chips was fresh and tasty. Overall I wasn't overly impressed.
(3)Kathy B.
Good food but knocked off a half a point for service. If you have a large group during the week only one waitress. I understand the concept. A half point off for the beans they don't hit the mark for good stand alone beans. The verde sauce has too much lime. I really like this place just needs a few changes. The best Mexican food in Kingman I've tried so far.
(4)Sally N.
For all the great reviews this restaurant got it was mediocre at best. Service was slow to disappearing..two minute tortillas and dinner left s really bad taste in my mouth. Got the shrimp fajitas.
(2)Carmel G.
Clean inviting restaurant. Server was distracted by a rude repeat customer who kept calling her over and over to the table. She even told her want she wanted ordered before she got her drinks. So we got our food after them. If you minus out that customer we really enjoyed the food. Our son ate almost ate all of his bean burrito, which was a first for him. The tortilla tasted homemade.
(4)George S.
The staff was friendly and the decor pleasant but the food was mediocre. The chips were stale and the salsa too hot; the rice was dry and my red snapper (served with skin, bones, head, and tail) was also dry. I was sorry I had gone there.
(2)Robert H.
OK, first impression is always chips & salsa, which were awesome! The salsa may be too hot for some, but it was fine for me. I also ordered guacamole for the chips, and though it was good, it was mild compared to the salsa. Next time, I think I'll mix a little of the salsa in with the guacamole. I had a shrimp burrito, which was excellent! Other folks had different shrimp items, including a soup and fajitas, and everyone loved them. The margaritas also got positive reviews (they certainly weren't weak). Finally the prices were reasonable and the service friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place to my friends, and you.
(4)Frank H.
Generally at every Mexican Restaurant I have the same thing, tacos, beer and tequila. (As I tell my wife, I'm not in a rut, I'm just consistent.) I had the carne asada tacos. They were made the way God intended them, chopped steak in corn tortillas. The beans and rice that came with them were pretty good. The salsa that comes with the chips is also very good. Unlike salsa in many restaurants, it had a little heat. The two times I was there they had a tequila special, a shot for 4.00. The last time I was there it was Cuervo 1800. Do save room for the flan. It was the best I have ever had. Many times flan is just vanilla pudding in a caramel sauce. This has way more substance and was very rich. I have to go to Kingman next week and I will be stopping in.
(5)John H.
Best mex food in town. But lately they have been serving my food cold. Cold rice and beans don't get it. Hope they get back to their old ways soon
(3)Judith E.
Seafood fajitas here are amazing. Horchata has a unique, floral flavor. I want to try everything on the menu!
(5)Rory R.
I was in Kingman on vacation, and chose to go to Oysters based on Yelp reviews. I can see why Oysters is averaging 4 stars, but I disagree with that rating. Let me start with why they're getting as many as three stars: the service we had was excellent! Very attentive and polite! He gave us a 10% "tourist" discount, even though we didn't know to ask for it! What I found that was lacking was the food. The chips and homemade salsa were great (as everyone else has mentioned), but the entrees were a little disappointing. I'm from California and very close to Mexico, so if I know anything, I know Mexican food. Oysters is probably four stars by Kingman standards, but don't get your expectations too high.
(3)Craig M.
Knew I was in the right place when I saw menudo was the special. Nice bowl of soup. Good mango margaritas, a bit pricey at $9.50 but. Excellent chips and a very good salsa.
(4)Laurie T.
We eat here when we stay at the Best Western Kings Inn next door. It's a great family-owned restaurant...mom and sisters/aunties and son out front, dad cooking in back. Gotta love it. The Margueritas are usually pretty strong, depends on who makes them. Food is quite acceptable. Not Rick Bayless or Diana Kennedy regional exciting, but no skimping on delicious meat, always tasty and served hot. Oh, and I think handmade corn tortillas (maybe?). The son likes the music a little loud for my ears, but his mom will make him turn it off if you ask. It's a very popular place, I think it's one of the best Mexican restaurants in Kingman. We've auditioned about 12 other Kiingman restaurants (all kinds) over the years, and have now permanently settled on Oysters as our go-to place. It's consistent, reasonably quick and fairly priced.
(4)Williamson S.
I live in Monterey County and had just got back from the Grand Canyon after a long drive it wasn't pleasing to wait 1 hour and 15 mins for our food!!! Definitely not doing that again but food was good and the place was busy
(2)Elizabeth M.
The outside of this restaurant is very plain and unassuming. Doesn't look like the great restaurant it actually is. Great staff, fresh hot food, this traditional Mexican food done right. I usually get to do lunch here about once a month. I absolutely recommend the Chili Rellenos. Be sure to try the free dip and chips. You'll want to take this salsa home!
(5)Fred P.
the oysters on half shell were not cold or properly shucked and were just not tasty. we left 4 of 12 which is usually a Foul-but! Tostadas de ceviche was really imitation crab mest salad with cucumbers/onions/tomato that were bland. my wife enjoyed the shrimp aguaschiles-she said it was nice n spicy. The best part of our meal were the Micheladas-best I've had at a restaurant.
(3)Tim T.
Ambiance great. Service great. Food great. Cold beer great I found this place through Yelp and since it was only 1/2 mile from my hotel decided to give it a look. I passed right by the first time But pulled a U and there it was. After seeing the outside I again checked Yelp and read some more reviews. I'm happy that I took the plunge because this is as authentic Mexican as I have ever had. Being a gringo I asked the waiter for help and he suggested a dish consisting of rice, beans, corn tortillas and a chicken, green peppers, onions in a green sauce. I ate every bit. I would definitely return to this restaurant but I don't think I will ever find myself in Kingman, AZ again.
(4)Steve F.
My wife and I spent the night in Kingman on our way to New River. Oysters was next door to the Best Western we were staying at so we checked them out on Yelp and were impressed enough to give them a try. Wow! Great, fresh made Mexican food!!! Even the tortilla chips taste home made. Some really great salsa too but watch out; it's a little hot for the timid crowd. Atmosphere is kitchy Mexican and it works. Service was very friendly but not very efficient. I think they could use one or two more people in the front of the house. All in all, this is on my must stop at list when traveling through Kingman.
(4)Esteban T.
Started out ok but went down hill fast with 2 different crying demon spawns, server was nice but not attentive as my water glass i was always waiting on to be refilled. Also a large party came in and sat next to us and we were almost completely ignored. Food took nearly 45 minuets from the time we ordered, then they brought our food out and set it on the empty table next to us and WALKED AWAY... for a full 5 minuets! To top it off they forgot one of our entre's. we also asked for limes several time but to no avail...As im sitting and writing this i am soo thirsty... If you infact read about a death at oysters it will be that i died of thirst... Tequilla tequilla everywheres but not a drop to drink... Same with the water... Had to get our own napkins. Food was bland... Dull and tasteless I've had better tasting food from a few taco trucks. We came in looking for a good place to celebrate my mother inlaw's birthday, had to tell three different employee's that it was her birthday 1 employee tried to help us the busser who had been there only two weeks n was still in training, but to no avail again! No celebration and acusations of it being our fault when i complained... Accusations made by the owners wife lol the owner then appologized for his wife... I dont know what her mal-function was but she seems like a very angry person... Will not be returning :/
(1)Tim C.
Food was just ok nothing special not !! True Mexican wait for food after we ordered was over half and hour only to be tasteless will not return
(1)Chris E.
The most noteworthy item on my combination taco, relleno, beans and rice was the relleno. A sweet poblano chile with the right amount of cheese and a worthy sauce. I think the raves for this place are for the fish tacos and other seafood items.
(3)Matthew A.
Just finished a meal here.. It was by far the best Mexican I have had in a long time. Our server a younger guy was running off his feet, while everyone else was out to lunch! Thank you, for the great service and excellent meal! Highly recommended !
(5)Margaret K.
Spending the night in Kingman we checked Yelp for a dinner place. We selected this place and are glad we did. Nice ambience, Vincent our waiter was very pleasant. The food was fresh, and flavorful. The chicken enchiladas had a mild sauce on them that was delicious. We've been on a 3 week trip and we both thought it was the best meal we had. Well worth a visit if you go through Kingman.
(5)Gustavo L.
Ask for a chiavela
(3)Jamie G.
Vincent is the nicest waiter I've ever met. He said my dinner was on the house when my order took 10 min longer than expected, and then just as I was about to leave he said "Wait!" and gave me free flan and wished me safe travels. What a lovely end to a long day of travel!
(5)Kent W.
Wham is the last time you have been to a Mexican seafood restaurant? We stopped here because we are staying at a nearby motel en route, and saw good reviews on yelp. We are quote pleased. I won't repeat other reviews. Spouse has traveled in Mexico and fondly recollected her stops on west coast seafood restaurants. But in Kingman? Really? The answer is yes. Most Americans are not aware of the rich seafood traditions of Mexico. I wasn't, until now, despite eating at a little village south of Tijuana years ago. Spouse had the Caldo 7 Mare and I had camarones fajita. Excellent choices. The fajitas were perfectly cooked. They don't serve it with sour cream or guacamole but I am sure you can ask. I just used the beans and rice and salsa. Reminded me of that little village restaurant. Savory flavors. The Caldo which is is, in essence, Mexican bouillabaisse, had a delightful ocean flavor. And teaming with many different ingredients. Freshly prepared. The seafood came just lightly overcooked but very edible. She mentioned this to waiter who seemed responsive. The staff was friendly and helpful. If we are in Kingman again we will be back here.
(4)Edward C.
Sat here for 30 minutes before I was asked what I would like to drink. Table next to me handled me their menu to look at. 1 waitress at lunch time is no good. This is my 3rd visit and my last always only 1 waitress and takes about an hour from the time you walk in to get your food.
(1)Jason A.
Food was awesome service was also great! We were passing through and i was a slight nervous about a seafood place in the desert but they got it right. We will definitly stop through again! Thanks!

This restaurant is very close to my work so I had high hopes that it would be a great place for lunch. Boy was I disappointed. I tried it 4-5 times. I know sometimes restaurants have bad days, someone calls in sick, their training a new cook, etc, but Oysters has consistently let me down. The service is usually fairly good but I have not had a decent meal there yet. The food has either been buried under a layer of oil or tastes like canned meat. The servers don't have any idea what ingredients are used in a meal. My friend can not eat gluten so she asked the server if the fish in the fish tacos was breaded or plain. He told he it was plain and grilled. When she got her food, it was breaded and deep fried. She told the waiter and he did not offer her any thing else. She ended up having to peel all the breading off her fish so she could eat. I won't be back.

Great oysters, great food & great service. The salsa is the best around. Highly recommend.

I too visited this restaurant based on reviews. The owners take care of their establishment. It is very well maintained and nicely decorated. The service is excellent, only to be out done by the food! Within 2 minutes of being seated, we had chips and salsa and 3 minutes later, our drinks were served. We ordered the shrimp and octopus cocktail - excellent!! I had a seafood dish and my fiancé had a traditional Mexican dish, each was wonderful and the portions were very big. We'll worth the visit and we will be sure to visit again, next time we are in Kingman!

My husband and I stopped here on valentines day on the tail end of out cross country road trip. It had good reviews. It was obviously busy but seemed like tables were moving fast so we stayed. We patiently waited over an hour for our food which still hadn't arrived. We caught the attention of the younger male waiter to let him know that we wouldn't be waiting any longer... Since we had been waiting at least an hour. He gave us major attitude and tried to tell us that we weren't waiting that long and wanted us to prove that we had been there over an hour. We then left very shocked at his rudeness. The other servers and staff were very nice and obviously busy. We won't be dining here again. Didn't get a chance to taste the food. (Other than the chips and salsa + water) Happy Valentines Day to us.
(1)Nicholas G.
Worst service in the world! Do not go there! The younger Latino waiter is horrible. We waited an hour for nothing because our food never came, and ended up walking out.
(1)Scott N.
This family run business offered such exceptional food and service that we at there again the next night. We were pleased to see that Vince was our server again, helped by his bride-to-be and we weren't disappointed. Large tasty portions and good margaritas. Our group had fish tacos, taco salad, fajitas, and the burrito supreme. All were very pleased and the prices were reasonable. We will be back next trip.
(5)Sandra M.
I am vegan, so I asked for a vegetarian burrito, not on the menu. I was given one of the best vegan burritos ever. It had all fresh spiced grilled, carrots, broccoli, peppers.... All veggies no rice or beans. I was fantastic very big, and I ate almost all of it.

As my husband and I are relocating to the area, we spent a few nights in the Travelodge. Gloria was so sweet and helpful with getting an extra room added on we took a chance on her reccomendation for dinner. Well that lady knows a good place! wow!! The staff is friendly, personable and so efficient! Drinks are not long under half full, unless you decline but they will ask again! The decor is bright and the food is amazing! We try to get the special each time we visit so we can try new foods there. The salsa is the most addictive I have ever eaten very tasty and not overly hot. The chimmichunga is perfectly cooked and accented with sour cream! The tacos don't fall apart and oh the flavor sensors they set off!! the best dinner we had was combo fajitas for two, shrimp (perfect and lots) chicken (grilled to perfection and lots) and beef (so tender you can cut it with your fork) and the onions and peppers were just right! then you get rice and beans with some guacamole, sour cream and lettuce.. oh its better than a huge turkey dinner! Really a great place to relax and enjoy the meal, and with such great service, we will go back often!!
(5)Jim F.
We were traveling from the Midwest to CA and stayed the night in Kingman. We took a chance on this restaurant and loved it. The food was great and the service was exceptional. The Margaritas were wonderful. We'll stop again next time we are in the area!
(5)Amber H.
We absol loved this place. To say I am a finicky eater is putting it mildly. And this place was amazing. The decor/inside was lovely, the flavors were some of the best we've had. We started w the shrimp ceviche (agua caliente I think(?)) and I just had a simple bean burrito w green sauce. I couldn't stop eating it! My bf had tacos ala Diabla. Everything was off the charts good. I don't normally post reviews- but great food when you're on the road is such a treat- I had to do my part to make sure people find this place.
(5)Laurie Ann W.
On our way home from visiting the Grand Canyon, we stopped here at Oysters for dinner where we were treated like royalty. We loved the chips and salsa, and our meal was PERFECT. This restaurant is family owned, and the son of the owner served us. He was charming, helpful, and his service was perfect. (I hope he made it to college!) Do NOT let the outside appearance of the building sway you - the inside was great. Food was authentic, and I only wish this restaurant was in my town. Easy access on/off freeway. I will most definitely stop and eat at Oysters every time I go through Kingman, AZ! Give it a try, you'll be glad you did. :-)

My husband and I were stuck in Kingman due to a flat tire and decided to stay at the Springhill Suites on Route 66. We asked them for a food recommendation and they suggested Oysters. It was only a short walk from the hotel but we were pleasantly surprised when we got there. Although the outside doesn't look all that (it is Route 66 and historic, so it's expected to have that historic edgy look), the inside is comfortable and pleasant. Authentic spanish music on and some of the nicest wait staff. The restaurant seems like a mom and pop shop and a true test of mexican authenticity, to us, means a good tasting salsa....which Oysters does very well. Then came the rita's and they too were quite tasty and large as well. The food however was exquisite. We were so impressed that such a small mom and pop like shop could produce such authentic flavors. I had a burrito, the husband had enchilada's...they would cooked to a perfect temperature and had perfect taste with not too much cheese. there was a good amount of red sauce over the top of my burrito (upon request) but not overwhelming the burrito in flavor. Overall, I'd highly recommend Oysters to anyone looking for authenticity. Yes, the salsa may be pureed but that really doesn't make much difference to me. What matters to me is taste and even while pureed, the taste of every bite is the same down to the last bit in the bowl...and that matters! GREAT food, GREAT staff, GREAT experience!!! This beat Eat at Joe's BBQ in Wickiup, which is our usual drive lunch spot. HAHA We'll be back on our next drive through. :)
(5)Karen K.
Yum, yum, yum! Excellent food, great service, big drinks, perfect prices.
(5)L L.
I ordered the fajitas and the dish was wayyyy over cooked to the point of burnt and tasted burnt. I'm honestly surprised that they would have even served it to us. If we weren't there with a group of people, I would have sent it back because it was that bad. The shrimp was not fresh and wasn't de-veined. The shrimp also had a weird texture to it that I can't describe other than it was disgusting. The fajitas came with ONLY 2 tiny tortillas. Really who eats fajitas with out tortillas? . It was so burnt that a lot of it was stuck to the pan. These were honestly the worst fajitas I have EVER had and I eat a lot of Mexican food. And to top it off, the server recommended the fajitas. No joke!! The beans and rice were just OK. The chips and salsa were fantastic and the service was great (with the exception of the fajita recommendation).
(1)Lennie D.
Excellent dinner. Seafood fresh and cooked perfectly. Cute decor inside.
(5)Ja V.
We stopped at Oysters Mexican Restaurant while traveling through Arizona from California. The food, service and ambiance were all outstanding! It seemed like it might be a locals place, which is great, but they were also very welcoming and friendly to out-of-towners. We eat Mexican food often but this restaurant was beyond our expectations on many levels. For example, my son had the fajitas and said they were the best fajitas he's ever tasted. My husband had the Tres Tacos and said they were delicious with freshly made ingredients and crispy shells. The salsa tasted home-made and the guacamole had large pieces of freshly cut avocado in it. I ordered the Burrito Verde at the waiter's suggestion. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the green sauce was the best I've ever had. It had a slight hint of heat, but was also cilantro smooth and almost buttery tasting. Service was fast and we were out there in less than an hour (which is perfect for weary travelers).
(5)Buzz D.
Pork en salsa Verde, chile relleno and great salsa too --very good renditions of all--would stop again if ever in the Kingman area!!----wish there was a Mexican rests. of this quality in our neck of the woods!!
(4)Marty A.
Can't recommend this place anymore. Extremely slow service, poor attitude of wait staff , no customer service skills at all. Other parties came in after us, got drinks orders taken we still had no one come to our table.Only 2 wait staff for the entire place and maybe 2 others to clear tables. They do not care about the customer experience as the manager told us "too bad...don't come back". Do not go there. Save your money and time.
(1)Cps A.
Very disappointed after the many good yelp reviews. Near closing time so maybe they were tired. Food was so-so okay but service was poor. Asked for virgin marguarita on the rocks with salt and got blended with no salt. Asked for shrimp and octopus coctail and got shrimp only. Server didn't seem to care
(2)Chelsie P.
Holy cow!!! This place is amazing. Mexican food is my all time favorite, and this place blows away any other place I've ever been to before. We got the Chicken Lucero, the Street Tacos and a pitcher of the Cadillac Margaritas. I wish I could post a pic of the food, but I Hoovered it way too fast for that. The flavors were amazing. The service is exceptional. The server, who's family owns the place, was quick with every request and a friendly smile and welcome. Such great hospitality! Zero complaints.

Here on business we were staying at the Best Western situated with in the same parking lot essentially. Some coworkers recommended this place and couldn't pass it up mostly due to proximity. It was good, not the best, but I have surely had worse. Being hispana from new mexico and being able to cook many of these items myself I tend to be picky. I had the enchiladas suizas, a little bland but good. The refried beans tasted like the rosarita ones from the can with a hint of cumin. I preferr my refritos pretty simple. The rice was just how I enjoy it. I would probably go back again if I was in the area.
(3)Yvonne S.
Very good! Server was attentive and polite. She had the #11 Chicken Burrito and I had the #10 Enchilada Special (chicken) and a cup of tortilla soup. It was all excellent. Chips and salsa very flavorful! This is our new stop between Phoenix and Vegas!
(5)Shelly O.
Great food! Try the chorizo and beans appetizer! Friendly wait staff. Yummy sangria's.
(5)Cathryn P.
Yummy!

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is cozy inside. I ordered from a very pleasant and easy on the eyes waiter. While I waited for the take out I had a huge and tasty margarita at the bar. Nice Spanish music and a pleasant small bar. The Margarita was so big I was worried I couldn't finish it before the food came out! Great place, check it out when you are passing thur Kingman. The menu was large and had all the regulars, but some unexpected items as well.
(5)Eric Lingkun Z.
Don't try this restaurant. We ordered the oyster, seafood pot, and tacos. All of those didn't meet my expectation. The oysters were not fresh at all! They smelled very bad!!! The worst oyster I have ever had! The seafood pot is not fresh either. The crab tasted like wax. The vegetables of the tacos were not fresh either!!!'. I am fully disappointed about the food here. I regretted coming here for lunch. It was so bad feeling.
(1)William G.
Really awesome experience. I would have never guessed that the best service I've had in years would be at a Mexican restaurant off of I-15, but if was. My waiter was amazing; a better server and more polite and attentive than at a 4-Star restaurant. The food was excellent and the price was right. Definitely the place to go in Klingman!!
(5)Douglas W.
What could all these reviewers be thinking? I don't get it. The rice was awful, the beans were burnt the guacamole wasn't fresh and didn't taste right, the pico was old and redolent of onions. I ordered the chicken tacos. No real flavor here and was totally dependent on the pico and guacamole. Another really bad Mexican restaurant. I thought surely because I was in the SW U.S. I couldn't possibly go wrong but I was definitely wrong. A disappointing end to a really long day on the road. If Miriam hadn't liked her shrimp cocktail, I would have given them 1 star. Maybe I should have had a few drinks before my food got to the table and I might have thought this would pass as edible.

This place was a great choice! I stayed in Kingman for a night while road tripping and this places happened to be a few short steps from my hotel room. Service was very fast and friendly, I barely even got my coat off before I was given chips and salsa and asked if I wanted a margarita (which I did of course). Shortly there after I was given a fishbowl sized marg and I ordered the enchiladas verdes. It didn't take more than a few minutes for my entree to come out, and while it was piping hot, I'd rather have food that is too hot served than food that is too cold. Overall it is your traditional padre and madre Mexican restaurant with fast and friendly service. The price could be a little cheaper (about 12 for the enchiladas and 9 for the marg) but all in all a very good choice for dinner. Shame on you if you stop at kingman for dinner and skip this place.
(4)Joanna S.
I love this place. Chips and salsa are yummy. I used to live in Kingman but just came in for a visit and my first stop was here! Don't pass this place up.
(5)Donna M.
I found this place near our hotel our group of 18 was staying at for the weekend and called to see if they could accommodate us for dinner. By the time we arrived the back room was set up with large bowls of chips and plenty of salsa.. the waitress was friendly and service was awesome.. I had the chicken enchiladas, rice, beans and a couple of Margaritas. The food was outstanding, hot, plates were huge and not one complaint in our group. The DB's want to thank you for a great evening and you will def be our place to go when we ride back to Kingman!! Gracias!!!
(5)Anthony C.
We are new to the southwest from Chicago and have desperately tried to find decent Mexican food....anywhere! We tried oysters based off of the reviews but I was super disappointed. I hate buying food and then having to resort to frosted flakes because I wouldn't finish it. The food here is very much closer to tex-mex than Mexican. I'm not a huge fan or ranchero flavored anything and this place is bursting at the seams with it. The food was heavy and greasy and just tasted a bit...off. This was a shock because it's really hard to mess up enchiladas! My wife liked her food for the most part. She had some spicy burrito but I can't recall which one. The food made us both hit the bathroom for most of the evening and we are die hard Mexican eaters. All in all ill never go back
(1)Anne M.
Planned our usual CO to CA migration to stop at Oysters - it's that good. Fresh, lovely ceviche and salsas. Great staff - family run. The real deal. I did hear the family has taken it over recently from folks they'd sublet to, which might explain the uneven reviews. I think it's GREAT!
(4)Philip W.
I went here for lunch on 9/6/11 around 13:00 and there were only a few customers. I was able to be seated right away, and the wait staff was very courteous. They spoke very good English, and I don't doubt they could speak Spanish too. The meal started with free chips and salsa, which is a must at a Mexican place. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with the verde sauce. It was great! The flavors were well-balanced, and it was picante without being overwhelmingly spicy. The plate was nice and hot from a temperature standpoint, and served within 10 minutes of my order. The setup was nice. Everything was made of dark wood which gave it a good look and feel. All the booths had personal lighting. The music in the background was Mexican of course. All in all, this place reminds me of why I love the Southwest. I will definitely be a regular here.
(4)Bonnie Z.
This place was awful. I ordered a steal dish, that was so spicy it was unbearable. It was priced at $13, and there was hardly any streak. I asked the waitress to bring me what my husband had which was bland, and no seasoning whatsoever. His dish was priced at $8, and when we were done eating I was still charged the $13. I also ordered a margarita priced at $8, but she brought me a larger one priced at $10. That is not the way to treat a customer. We live in Kingman, and that was our first experience, and will never go back. Terrible place.
(1)Stacey H.
Food is great, so is the service. It's nice because it is close to the hotel we stay at when we come up for hubs work. Prices are also a steal! We had the super nachos for lunch, and they were easily shared. I also had a fish taco and it was delicious, easily the best I've ever had. Husband had Taquitos and loved them as well. They have a great lunch menu.
(4)Doug T.
Awesome food and impeccable service! Five stars!
(5)Matt C.
About a week ago I was back east, daydreaming about seafood in Cabo. I drifted into this place today and gorged on great food and great service. We were the only gringoes in the place. It's that good. I hope my travels take me back through Kingman, just for Oysters Mexican.
(5)Gina B.
The chicken flautas are great! The rice and beans are fresh. They didn't taste reheated or microwaved. The chips and salsa are good. The salsa clears your sinuses! The fried ice cream was OK. I like the decor. It's Mexican restaurant with artwork from Friday Kalo. We went Easter Sunday and it was perfect timing because as soon as we walked in, so did the rest of the town! We were served in reasonable time. The drinks and chips were refilled promptly. Overall, it was a very nice place to have good Mexican fare.
(4)Brian Z.
With a number of "taco" shops in Kingman, several quite tasty for fast food, Oyster's is one of the few that should qualify as a "restaurant". Comfortable, good service, family run, and very friendly with Mexican beers on tap along with a nice selection of bottled beer and a bar, the food is pretty good. The moles, a personal favorite, are homemade and after several visits, Oyster's has risen to the top of list for a nice sit-down Mexican meal in Kingman.
(4)Christina E.
My first time here I tried the Chile Relleno burrito which is a favorite of my at all mexican food places and it was SOOOOOOOO DELICIOUS! I have also had the shrimp a la diabla which was good and shrimp ceviche tostada which was good too.The margaritas and pina coladas are yummy as well! Highly recommended
(5)Stacy G.
I usually don't like Mexican food but this place was amazing. Being on a road trip this was a nice change from the fast food chains.
(5)John C.
Not a bad little Mexican joint but the music was very loud and it was popular 80's songs sung in Spanish. Kinda off putting actually but food was good.
(4)Mike S.
Yes, I've reviewed this place before, but I feel it deserves another round. Previously, I stuck to the more accepted Ameri-Mex menu items, as I'm a bit skeptical of seafood in the middle of the desert. Big mistake on my part! This time, I ordered the Seafood Molcajete, which means it was served in a lava rock bowl. A HUGE lava rock bowl. I was not nearly hungry enough for this dish! It was jam packed with clams, shrimp, mussels, fish chunks, what was either squid or octopus, and even crab legs, plus onions and peppers, swimming in a deliciously kick-your-but flavorful spicy broth. The majority of the seafood was delicious, but the clams and mussels were kind of overdone and tough. The tortillas (I opted for flour, but you can get corn, too) were warm and soft, and had a nice buttery flavor to them. The rice and beans that came on the side were typical, smooth beans and soft, fluffy rice, but neither had much flavor. I'll definitely be back for molcajete again, but I'll make sure I'm either a lot hungrier next time, or I've got someone with me who also wants some spicy seafood.

This place is a train wreck. We ordered two combo pates, two margaritas, ate about a quarter of our food, then lied to our server and told her that our hotel called and said our dog was barking in our room. The food was at best inedible, and the margaritas were so sweet and syrupy that they were undrinkable. We did order two shots of Patron that came in boot-shaped, sort of clean shot glasses. I washed my shot down with a Corona that was almost cold enough to drink. Our server was friendly and hustled when we said we needed our check. This Mexican disaster set us back $68.80 before tip. Maybe it was an off night, maybe the enchiladas aren't always flat, cold, and chewy. Maybe all taco meat in Kingman tastes like that. Maybe the people who gave this place good reviews are are right. Or, maybe not. Taco night at your mom's house and a six pack of Bud Lime crushes this place. Eat anywhere else....

WHAT JUST HAPPENED!!!!!!!! I just took my Mother, 87 years old, in a wheelchair to this restaurant and what a nightmare. It took 5 minutes to get her thru the front door. It is a double door with one side locked because it is broken. The door is unable to be propped open, the window coverings hang to the floor and snagged the wheelchair when we tried to leave. Only after we were in the parking lot, trying to load mom in the car, the waiter ran out with a camera and snapped a photo of the license plate and said he would see us in court for breaking his curtain. How the hell are we supposed to get out of the building? We had no offers of help to get out. Anyway, the food was marvelous, yet they lost some great customers. Before I go back to California, any lawyers want a easy lawsuit? Reply and I'll get in touch. How dare you people be so obnoxious, rude and arrogant.....you want a fight in court, you got it....bring it on.
(1)Steven L.
We stopped by here after 6 hours of driving from LA. This was the first joint we spotted as we got off the highway and we were starving. We decided to give this place a try since you can't really go wrong with Mexican food. I ordered the mix fajitas combo (steak, chicken and plump large shrimps) and wifey ordered the chicken fajitas. Everything was delicious and the spices was tasty. The chips and salsa was addictive and the salsa was on the spicy side. Service is friendly and our order was served lighting fast (within 5 mins after our order was placed). Prices is extremely reasonable (approx $14 per plate). Our experience here was awesome and we will definitely be back the next time we head over to Grand Canyon. Cheers!
(5)Kit K.
Food was good but $8.50 for a margarita that doesn't even give you a buzz?? No way, Jose. We will be back for the food but will drink elsewhere.
(4)racer x.
Mega overpriced. I sat down had some seafood medley thingy and plopped down 25bux! I was like whaaaaa? Loud mexican music and food was marginal. I say steer clear unless you really hungry. Felt like I was robbed.
(2)MJ H.
Everything about this restaurant is great. Food: good! Service: fast! Staff: extremely nice! If you stop by Kingman, this is the place to go to!
(4)Terry H.
Oysters? We were following Route 66 from the Grand Canyon and stayed overnight at the next door Best Western Hotel who recommended it, but thought "Oysters???" Yes, this restaurant features both the seafood of Mazatlan, Mexico as well as more traditional Mexican fare - and it's all great. We were greeted by the owner's son with a genuine welcoming smile as we entered. Chips and salsa appeared instantly. The margaritas were great - the beer selection extensive (a wonderful selection of Mexican beer). The service was prompt and friendly; the food excellent. The place was full on a Wednesday at 6 pm and still full at 8:00 pm when we left with many Kingman local types as well as Route 66 travelers. A wonderful experience!
(5)Melinda K.
OK, with a name like Oysters, I must say I was dubious about going to this place for dinner. But, after a very long day of driving, our hotel receptionist recommended it and gave us a 10% discount coupon. Combined with the fact it was directly across the road, we were sold! There are alot of choices on the menu with combo plates, specials and the like. Even the waitress didn't really know what everything was. We pretty much took a gamble and ordered our favorite number. On the whole it was pretty good. Noone was keen to go near the seafood seeing as we were in the middle of the desert but they do pride themselves on the seafood, so perhaps we are the crazy ones! The beer and margaritas were great and overall it turned out to be a fast, cheap meal - exactly what we needed.
(3)Sam G.
My boyfriend and I happened to stop in Kingman AZ for the night on our cross-country road trip back in May. We knew nothing about the town, and stopped in to Oysters almost by chance. After taking a tour of the Mexican food across the south on our way back to Philadelphia, I can easily say that this is the best Mexican food I've had in my life, and I've been searching all around Philadelphia to find something comparable. The enchilada had an entire jalapeno in it, which had phenomenal flavor, the rice and beans were absurdly delicious, and the salsa was certainly something to write home about. It was perfect. Three months later, I'm still thinking about Oysters. Thank you!
(5)Dharmapaalini N.
This place doesn't look like much from the outside; but, don't walk by! It's clean and pleasant on the inside. The people are very friendly. And, the food is fantastic.I had chili relleno with rice and beans. This is the best mexican food I've had outside of Mexico! The margarita with patron was amazing and everything was reasonably priced. Even the salad had real lettuce and spinach and not the cheap stuff. I would go out of my way to eat here again and highly recommend it.
(5)Thomas R.
aight dude above me is straight tripping i didnt have the seafood though cause im not a good judge of that but mexican is def down my alley and it was far from spectacular i had the carne asada combo and the meat was terrible hard as a rock i felt like i was chewing tar and it took the waitress 15 min before she took my drink order what the heck was up with that and the salsa was pretty bad too how you mess that up i have no idea its blended veggies for christ sake....
(1)Mark M.
My gf and i stopped here on one of the many nights we had as we traveled from Ft. Lauderdale to California. The Ceviche was so good. If for any reason i'm going through the mojave again, I'll make a stop here for sure.

So, on a road trip from Albuqereque to LA I decided to quit driving and spend the night in Kingman Arizona. Not something I'd recommend if you are seeking a picturesque. Arizona Highways moment. However if you are searching for your long lost first car, the one you so fondly remember, I suggest the massive auto wrecking yards just North of the line up of chain motels on Andy Divine Blvd. Seems most of the old junkers in the Western US have found their way to Kingman. Something I would recommend is having dinner at Oyster's Mexican and Seafood. Fast, friendly service, really good salsa with a nice bite, and excellent Chili Relleanos. The other dishes look good too. I dined here alone and only have the one dish to vouch for, but if the lady in the booth behind me who couldn't stop raving about her dinner, is any indication, I'd say that this restaurant is one of Kingman's highlights!
(4)Stephan L.
Nice little mexican restaurant with a great local atmosphere. The service is great but could be a little bit more friendly. Other than that it's a great choice for lunch and dinner. So close to the hotel too.
(5)Theresa B.
Absolutely LOVE this place! We are new to Kingman, and this is the best place to eat we have found here. Very reasonably priced (hard pressed to find anything on the menu over $10) , friendly service, and GREAT food. This restaurant is now a staple for us. The person that reviewed saying it's overpriced and loud music, must have reviewed the wrong place... no music here and most definitely not overpriced. :-)
