My first Thai food in AZ. Very tasty and spicy. We had coconut soup. It was yummy. Husband had curry duck. I had garlic basil beef. Both were delicious. We ordered them medium spicy...3 stars...and it was quite spicy, but we loved it. The decor is nice. Very authentic. The ingredients of the food were super fresh, and flavorful.

My family and I use to eat at the other thai food place but a couple years ago it really started to go down hill in quality and authenticy. When Thai Palace opened up we tried it and it has been our place to go for Thai food ever since. It is authentic. You can get the food spiced to how ever hot you want it or just do it your self with their spice rack. The food is great. My niece found a great dish that is called chicken noodle. The summer rolls are yummy and so is Me-grob, Fried Tofu, and the Tom-ka is some of the best. The owners are warm and the wait staff is laid back and very helpful. Never had a bad experience. It is a little high priced but Thai food usually is.

We discovered this place after moving to the area from Chicagoland. I'd have to say it's one of the best places to eat in the whole Cottonwood/Sedona area! Clean and neat with a nice menu. Flavors are fresh. Small dining area outside or cozy space indoors. I'm pretty fussy but this is one place that is on my "go to" list! Service is sometimes a bit sluggish, but I don't mind waiting for good food. The Mai Tai could use work.

A very pleasant evening. Great curry. Very good service.

If your in Cottonwood and want some Thai food, this is the place. I eat here about 2-3 times a month and haven't been disappointed. The heat level can be inconsistent though, so order the heat level a little lower if you have problems w spicy. I order Thai hot.

The restaurant is a small building nestled in the corner of Old Town, and has a sleepy, secluded feeling to it. The decor was largely elephant-based and ornate, yet maintained an air of simplicity. The service was good, if not awkward at times. Our glasses stayed full during the duration of our stay, and the food was brought out to us promptly. I ordered the coconut soup, and my husband ordered the chicken noodles. The soup was hot and flavorful, and was surprisingly filling for an otherwise light soup. The chicken noodles were a good choice. The noodles were cooked to perfection, and the chicken had a good flavor. The cilantro in both dishes was a great addition, lending extra flavor without being overpowering. We would come here again. Good food, good service.

Thai Palace has decent food and though I haven't eaten in the restaurant, I have enjoyed some take out. However, if I didn't work so close to this restaurant it wouldn't be my first choice for Thai in the area. The Pad Thai had a bit too tangy and the Pad Se Eww was only ok. While I will probably continue to get lunch here ever so often, this Thai restaurant certainly isn't my favorite in the Verde Valley.

We took some friends out to lunch and ordered off the lunch menu which included salad. When the waiter came to take our order, he told us that we couldn't have the salad because lunch was over at 4 PM. We told him that it was only 3:30. He still said we couldn't have salads. He was quite rude, just repeating that we couldn't have a salad. He did say that he would give us the lunch price. We should have left right then. The food was not good. Rice was mushy and old tasting. The food was bland and not very authentic. The portions were very small, we were still hungry when we left. To top it off we were charged the dinner prices. Do not go here!

Service with a smile and their pad thai sauce was so delicious that you'll want to use your spoon. We appreciated that our "not too spicy" request was met, and without loosing flavor. Peanut salad dressing was the best in the West.

Stopped here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. If you like Thai food you will enjoy this place. The restaurant was small, cozy and clean. The service was good and the food is great! I am a Vegetarian so it's nice to find a place in Old Town that has so many vegetarian options! We will definitely be going back.

We went here 3 times during our stay in Cottonwood. Our server (whose name I unfortunately failed to get) was such a lovely person. Very genuine and a great smile. The lunch specials are fantastic - great portions, AMAZING flavors. And being Thai snobs, I have to say this place can hold its own. The number 3 is hot - so unless you're actually Thai I wouldn't go any higher than that for a spice level. The Tom Kha (coconut soup) is to die for. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because I have had better Thai in Seattle. Thai Palace needs to up their sauce game a bit so they are less runny... I wouldn't recommend any noodle dishes. Stick to the curries and stir frys.

Complete fail. Sorry. When I spend over $50, I expect at least decent food. I went based on the favorable reviews, but I'm led to believe that my definition of good Thai is not theirs. I've eaten at four Yelp 4 star Thai restaurants in Tucson. and this restaurant is definitely nowhere close to being in their class. Ironically, most of the bad reviews here was because of the poor service while the food was "good." My experience was the opposite: nice service, but poor food. The play by play: Chicken Satey The chicken was actually too large, tasteless, and the satey was served separately, while not so much of a problem, it made it less appetizing in presentation and highlighted how slightly over cooked and somewhat blanched the meat was. Not sure how it was cooked. Seemed almost microwaved or baked. The satey itself was not that flavorful and was not a smooth sauce. We did not gobble it down like we usually do for chicken satey. As a matter of fact, there are two of the four still sitting over there as I type this and that doesn't even count the half I threw away. Green Curry Zucchini as a vegetable in green curry does not work for me. Too mushy, at least the way it was cooked. Mushy cooked green pepper does not work for me, either. The sauce was meh, and it was not smooth. Can coconut milk coagulate? We did not gobble it up like we usually do. Again there's leftover on the table as I type. A first for us. Teriyaki Beef Uhm, no. The "sauce" was soupy, watery. The beef, while not tough, was not tender, either. Weak flavor. Again, fails the gobble test. I'm Japanese. They should not have it on the menu. Pad See Eew Took two bites. It went to the trash. Really. Obviously, no gobble factor. The menu is different than what is on "Explore the Menu" here. And the satey was about $10, the rest were about $13. That's expensive. I guess that's tourist region pricing. I'm used to $8 an entree back home. There you have it. The staff was very friendly. Food was highly disappointing.

I find it funny how Thai restaurants seems to have the harshest comments, apparently from snobby self proclaimed "Thai Experts" who call food "trash" if it's not what they like. Sheesh people! I couldn't imagine going to a restaurant with them - BUZZKILL! Anyways, I'm not THAT person. I like to eat and I know if something tastes good. So take my review for what it's worth. Was my first time here. I got the chicken satay ($9.95) and it was delicious! 4 skewers of curry marinated chicken breast perfectly grilled, and peanut sauce, cucumber salsa looking dip (I dunno, I didn't try it) and toast. Also tried the raspberry sake. Good Lord that stuff was great! Other people in the party ordered the pad thai (they've all been there before) and were very happy. Our server was great, sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the perfect evening. Nice decor and prices were reasonable. I will definitely go back to this little gem!

This one of those hard "in between" places to rate that i would have wished for half stars to give it a 3,5 rating. Tried three dishes when we where here a hot summer day in July: *Chicken w green curry- Flavorful and tasty but could have used a liiitle more chili kick to it. *Beef w garlic & pepper sauce on lettuce bed- Really tender beef in a delicious garlic/pepper sauce. *Beef panang- As good in flavor as the green curry but with a little more chili this was my favourite dish at this place. Service was promt and nice and the prices fare for the quality of food. As Cottonwood doesnt hava the large amount of restaurants as bigger cities have i would recommend this place to anyone craving som asian.

The best Thai food I have EVER had. Got the coconut soup and immediately began trolling the internet to find what I deduced it was composed of to make my own at home. What I liked is you could get all the soups either made vegetarian (without chicken and chicken broth) if you wanted. That's a luxury I don't often have. My boyfriend said, "I could eat a lot of this." He doesn't say he likes food unless he REALLY likes it. So that says a great deal. I got the the Thai Fried Rice as my entree, and I'm a vegan so they were kind enough to make it without egg, which I appreciated. My boyfriend got some kind of curry that rocked his world. The service was also outstanding and the food came quickly. I can't wait to come on vacation up here again and go back to this place. Winning.

I came here after the railroad ride for the curiousity. I am glad I tried it, I came inside not expecting much (let's face it... it's a Thai restaurant in the middle of nowhere), and it exceeded my expectations. The service isn't the greatest, but the food more than makes up for it. Considering the location of Thai Palace, I certainly cannot complain. It's a great restaurant when you're tired of looking at advertisements for burgers and beer.

This is the best Thai food in the Verde Valley. Small dining room and smaller patio out back but no worries. Some issues with wait staff turnover, but not in the kitchen where it counts. My garlic broccoli medley with pork I had for lunch today was perfect as was the side of brown rice. I generally do not mention the weather but 76 degrees high light overcast with 12% humidity made for a lovely lunch with sister Linda on the back patio.

I have traveled extensively around western US and I search out Thai wherever I am. I usually go for penang curry beef. I don't state this lightly, but I was served the most rubbery and tasteless beef I could have imagined. The curry portion was tasty, but the meat was unforgivable! The cook that day definitely don't know how to cook their beef for curry stew and avoid rubbery tough meat. I was there at lunch. Wait staff was friendly and attentive.

Great Thai food. Frankly, we were surprised to find such good thai food in Cottonwood. We had the Beef Salad and one of the curry dishes. Good food, good service, and decent prices. Will definitely stop here again next time we are passing through town.

If you want a restaurant to over charge you and then not be willing to give you your money back then this is the place to go! Made me so mad didn't even eat the food! If I were you I would stay far away from this place I heard the food was good but the customer service is terrible

After reading some of the reviews for their Cottonwood and Sedona locations on both Trip Advisor and YELP, I am now more certain than ever this is NOT a place anyone should support. PLEASE READ THIS AND SPREAD THE WORD. If a restaurant makes a mistake in the way they prepare your meal, would you expect the dish be made again, the right way? OR, that you should get a credit on your bill for the meal? Of course you would! This is what all restaurants do. Not Thai Palace. Stay away from Thai Palace in both Uptown (Sedona) and Cottonwood. After countless times of having our take-out orders prepared wrong, this last time we actually got sick from the food. We have tried to contact the owner to ask for a credit on this last order. She will not return our calls or allow her management team to take care of this small request. After reading the reviews I see now this is their standard practice. No wonder they don't allow their on-site manager and/or servers to take care of these incidents as they come up; the owner doesn't allow it because she will not refund or credit you back, no matter what happens. There are other decent Thai dining options available in the Sedona/Cottonwood area (Mai Thai and Thai Spices). No-one should support a business that does not truly take care of their customers.

Stopped by here on the way to Sedona. The food here is pretty good, but the serving sizes were a little small for me. Drinking hot water instead of tea was really strange for me. Eating outdoors is kind of nice, since there are heaters. There is a small pond here with a bunch of random statues that glows at night. Pad thai here was pretty good, as well as the curries. I came here in a big group, and the service wasn't the best.

I lived in Thailand for 2 years and can honestly say that this is the best, most authentic Thai food that I have ever had in Arizona. They nailed most every dish on the menu. Have been back with friends many, many times and thoroughly enjoyed it!

If there were ZERO stars they would have it! Customer service is NOTHING. I ordered take out and asked for sweet and sour sauce on the side. The person who took out order made us sound stupid by said they always include it on the side, so we didn't say anything after that. Picked up our order, drove home and there was no sauce. So I call back and ask what had happened? Because someone there made me feel certain that there was the sauce included. Not too worried about the sauce but it was the TERRIBLE LACK of communication skills from the lady on the phone I called back.(all I'm saying) I'm guessing she wanted to go home. But that's your job! If you can't do it I'm very sure someone else will happily take the job! Thai Palace has lost my business. If they even care..

So the first time I went to this restaurant was in Sedona, Az and the food was just as awesome as it is here. I could not believe that when I walked in I saw the same awesome waiter we had in Sedona. Thanks Nate you rock! I can not tell you how awesome the coconut soup is here and how wonderful the curries are. I am trying to try other things on the menu but seem to always like the curry the best. The only thing I wish is that they opened one in Gilbert so I could go a lot more often. look forward to my next trip up north to get my curry fix!!

Excellent Thai food and great ambiance. I love green curry chicken and theirs is bar none. They offer steamed white or brown rice. It is wonderful to have such outstanding Thai cuisine in a small town in Northern Arizona. Thai Palace is more expensive than the other Thai restaurant in town, but well worth it. There is a patio for outdoor dining too. We last went on a Wednesday night and it was very well patronized. In fact, we were asked if we had reservations when we arrived. Keep up the good work!

I love the food here. Everything is tasty and fresh. The service is hit or miss, sometimes its great and others you just wait for anyone to do anything.

I thought that the food was almost "fair" at best. However, the service was very slow. Next time I'm going to my old stand by Thai restaurant in town. Think about it, fresh fish in Cottonwood AZ? Ya right.

We were so pleasantly surprised to find this gem in Cottonwood were we visit family often. Having lived in west coast cities with great Thai food and having worked in Thailand this place is the real deal. The Tom ka gai, spicy basil, yellow curry, spring rolls, and the chicken satay were all winners! Giving this place five stars would be a no brainer if the service had not been so dreadfully slow. We'll definitely return but will plan to be there for a while. They also do takeout. Note, that on our second visit we were less wowed. The food was good but not as great as the first visit. Nonetheless, we'll return for a third time to break the tie and will reduce a star if it doesn't measure up.

Outstanding Thai. Outstanding service. Okay prices, but you get what you pay for. I arrived in the 4:00pm hour, so I can't speak about service in the busy hours ( I hope they do have busy hours, this place needs to stay open!). I am not all that experienced with Thai food, but did live in an area of Northern CA for a while that is known for outstanding Thai cuisine. Thai Palace is better than any I had there. I ordered the Coconut Soup, and Green Curry Chicken, done medium spicy. Everything tasted so amazing, all the expected flavors are there, and more. I had no beverage, just water, and my bill was about $19. If it were less for soup and an entree, I'd be back at least weekly. But, it will remain a special treat.....

This is a really good Thai restaurant with friendly service. That and we liked the fact we could have so many dishes with tofu. We didn't go wrong with the Broccoli Medley and Ginger Medley. Portions were adequate enough we took a bit of each home with rise and had a snack a bit later.

It's pretty clear from other reviews. I spent 10 days in Thailand and ate at some very fine restaurants and had some very good homemade dishes. I never had a better Thai food than I get every time at Thai Palace. The curry and Pad Prig King are fantastic. Always fresh, and the service is top notch, not typical for our area unfortunately.

Empty around lunch time. Coconut soup. $10.95. Rice costs extra. Spicy and tasty, but the soup was loaded up with inedible stuff especially big chunks of lemon grass, and also dried leaves and spices.

After living in Thailand, I consider myself somewhat of a Thai food snob. I have yet to find great Thai food in Prescott, so I was pleased to hear that the hype surrounding Thai Palace is all true. The food was authentic Thai--fresh, bold flavors, and spice--not Americanized or Chinese-leaning Thai food. The restaurant was packed and hectic on a Sunday evening. Our server told us that this was unusual. The wait was not excruciating and was well worth it. I will definitely be back when I pass through the Verde Valley.

Everything was excellent, especially the coconut soup! We had the duck curry and pad thai with shrimp. It was the best Thai food I can ever remember having. I wish I lived here so I could come back again and again.

Thai Palace is without doubt the best Thai food in this area. They have not "watered down" the true nature of Thai food in order to please those less adventurous. Of course, at this point, Thai food should probably no longer be considered "adventurous" I suppose, since it has made great inroads into the American mainstream. Still, I've noticed that some Thai restaurants serve a somewhat "Sino-Thai" version - which is closer to Chinese. And worse still, like the Chinese food which is very much Americanized here in the States. But none of this is the case with Thai Palace - and this is why I recommend it so highly! Their flavors are very fresh and pure - there is nothing gooey or "glunky" or oily - just the true essence of coconut milk, Thai basil, galangal root, lemon grass, mint, lime, Thai peppers, etc. They clearly have gone to some lengths to acquire the proper ingredients for Thai cuisine - which is not always easy to do - especially in outlying areas like the Verde Valley. Some standout items are the Spicy Basil (ka pao) which is especially good with ground chicken and brown rice - although you have your choice of meat and style of rice - as well as the level of heat (or spiciness) you prefer. I think that 3 stars is about right - but this might be too hot for some - too mild for others. Their Pad See Ew is especially good - they use the proper flat noodles needed for this dish. This is a more subtle item, not spicy at all - for those more sensitive. Their green and yellow curries are also excellent choices. The Thai BBQ Chicken (gai yang) - is cooked just right with delicious Thai herbs. The appetizers I like most: the Chicken Satay and the Thai toast (Golden Chicken toast). The Papaya salad is very refreshing if you enjoy a salad that is hot and spicy, yet sweet and tart - certainly an interesting combination of flavor sensations! For dessert, their custard with sticky rice is very satisfying as well as their Golden Bananas with coconut ice cream. The atmosphere here is warm and comfortable - with authentic Thai elements (gold leaf trim and statues, masks, etc.). In the warmer months, they have a charming small patio in the back that is especially nice in the early evening around twilight. Enjoy!

hands down best thai food ever. we went twice after discovering it was just a few blocks from where we were staying. yes you should go and go often. there is nothing in st. louis that comes close. feel free to leave suggestions.

This place is fantastic. Having lived in Thailand and in parts of America with a large Asian population I wasn't expecting much from a Thai place in Northern Arizona. It was great. The food was just as I remember it from Thailand although the portions are much bigger. I highly recommend Thai Palace.
