Had an early dinner here this weekend. The most noticeable thing to me was that the staff all seemed genuinely friendly. The food, overall, was pretty good, though a bit overpriced for what we got. My wedge salad had a huge chunk of iceberg lettuce (we were warned in advance by the server when ordering!) which would have been fine but instead of ice cold and crispy it was cool and spongy/wilting. I got a burger with sausage and a fried egg on top--pretty unusual. The server didn't ask how I wanted my burger and I forgot to say, so it arrived really well done and the sausage patty didn't have much flavor to add to it. The buttermilk pie was really good!

Perfect end to a day trip in Sedona. Rustic setting, great view, friendly service, reasonable prices. The burgers are made with Harris Ranch beef, juicy with a very fresh flavor. Try the Sedona or the Cowboy. Onion rings were outstanding as well.

We passed the restaurant Saturday evening on the way to the casino. The place was very busy. We decided to go check it out for dinner on Sunday. What a surprise. We had no idea that there were some great views. We ordered the Ribeye and it was just outstanding. I liked that they feature lots of local wines and foods. We will be back. I call Up The Creek Grill a real hidden gem. Check it out for yourself!

First time here. I hear it was better under old ownership and old name (Page Springs Restaurant). Was there a week ago. Temps were around 103 outside and seemed to be about 102 inside. Garlic fries were good. Soda was weak. It was an OK $6 burger for $10. All in all, I found it to be overpriced with a poor selection on the menu. And, the A/C was not properly sized for the area it was trying to cool. Chances of returning there.... zero.

Came here on recommendation of Lolo mai Springs Resort...wish we'd done it sooner. We didn't have a reservation because our phones wouldn't work, but they took us anyway and my chicken salad was great and had more chicken than I could eat. Husband had filet w/blue cheese, it was yummy too. There were lots of interesting well-thought out choices. Waitperson was gracious, and if you get there before dark, there's a lovely view of the creek & animal life. We were sad we didn't go there sooner in the week we were camped up the road.

We were very excited when Up The Creek opened. We had been regular patrons when it was Page Springs and were disappointed when we heard they closed. The new owners have done some much needed updating. We have eaten there 3 times. The first time was the best, the second time, they were out of both of the entree's I ordered. We decided to give it one more try. The 3rd time, every dinner at the table was ice cold. A big disappointment, we won't be going back any time soon.

We were down the road at Javelina Leap Vineyard on a wine tour through the Verdi Valley. They recommended Up The Creek. And it was excellent. The Page Springs burger was out of this world. The service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

We stopped on a whim for lunch and were delighted. It's a small, funky place with lots of friendly atmosphere and great food. I had a burger that was actually medium rare, juicy, delicious, and HUGE. My hubby had their soup, loved it, and my father-in-law had their clam chowder. Put this on your go-to list for fun, funk, and good food.

Restaurant from the outside is somewhere you would drive right by but you would miss a great meal. The view was great of the river. We had the bruschetta with mushroom that was fabulous. Onion rings were ok, needed to be crisper. I had the fish tacos they were crisply and delicious. My husband had the ribeye, it was done perfectly and had a great BBQ taste. Great place, will definitely go again

Love, love, love this place. It is off the beaten path, a hidden gem for sure! I'm a vegetarian and they surprised me by having a wide selection of options for vegetarians (which could be made vegan w/o cheese)! There was great food for my meat eating friends as well but to land a place that knows how to properly prepare delicious gourmet vegetarian dishes was awesome! We also met the owners they were super nice, it's a family business too. I can't wait to go back!

We recently took a day trip from Phoenix. After doing a little wine tasting we ask the lady at Javelina Leap winery for a recommendation for lunch. She suggested Up the Creek. Wow, the food was delicious, both my husband & I had the ahi tuna salad. I must say this was one of the best I have eaten. My husband had read on line about this place, one of the folks suggested the buttermilk pie. The first time I have ever eaten buttermilk pie, I was in for a treat. We will definitely be back.

Really good experience We live in Phoenix and never see a river, this was worth stopping for The food and ambiance were both excellent A little over $20 for two lunches, also a good value They had a hitching rail out front, wished I had a rope so I could tie my car up western style while we ate

Foodies, don't be swayed by the curb appeal of this 1950s "roadhouse" on Oak Creek. Not only are you treated to a warm vintage atmosphere (and a fantastic creek view) once inside, you will enjoy excellently crafted foods and fresh ingredients. I recommend anything with a roasted pepper, and their house catsup is delicious on either kind of fry. They also have two local beers on tap. Both refreshing after some good hiking and sightseeing. Definitely worth the trip.

We found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It has a very comfortable atmosphere, the kind of place you can just relax at. The service and food were both very good and the new owner even played the piano during dinner. We will defiantly go back when we visit Sedona.

Friendly, home cooked food in an atmospheric setting by the creek. Good sized portions cater to vegetarians, meat-eaters and fish lovers equally. Staff are super helpful and their Cowboy Caviar is the best I've tasted in the area. Tomato pie is pretty special too!

While in Oak Creek visiting my folks the question came up "where is a good place to get fried Chicken"? My wife and I are always on the look out for great (REAL) food and fried Chicken done right is not always an easy task to find. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a professional cook but I know what I like, meals prepared by professionals. Okay back on track! So Ma said, Up The Creek Grill, their Chicken is great, and so Pa feeling all special like said he would spring for dinner. This place has a lot of great things about it, first off, it is off the beating path it surely is not one of those restaurant one would drive by and say "hey let's try that place". It like one of those hole in the wall places and not all spit and polished, it is however clean. I felt very comfortable coming here from the atmosphere to the host that greeted us. We were immediately seated and our drinks ordered. As mentioned above I was wanting chicken, but after looking at the menu I was half tempted to go for the Filet Mignon. It was a hard choice but I decided to stick with my original thought and I'm glad I did. The Chicken was fabulous and I would have to add the best I have ever had. Hey, someone has to hold the title might as well be these guys. And the staff was very friendly too, answering any question we had and alway promptly attending to our needs. Unfortunately (for me) I insisted on eating my entire dinner leaving no room for dessert. I guess I need a reason to return...no I need no reason other than to eat some fabulous food with great service in an excellent setting. Thanks UCG for the great dinning experience!

Had heard good reports on place and overall the food was good. Would have given higher score if service better. Arrived at 6 and didn't get served dinner until 7:30. One waitress and the place was full when we arrived. Mgt needs to staff better. No one came over to check on whether we needed anything ...like more drinks, or even water! Sounds like this place may be better venue for lunch than dinner. Disappointed.

Went last night (January 18, 2015) - It was Fantastic! They went out of their way to seat our large group last minute. The waitstaff was top-notch. The food was better than ever. Great view over the creek. Met the new chef-owner - a great guy (entertained our group with his amazing piano playing...used to be a music professor up at NAU). Everyone in our group loved the food! The seafood quartet was the best seafood meal I have had in Arizona. We greatly enjoyed the Cajun etouffee special, others at the table loved the flat-iron steak, and raved about the home-made bolognese. Their wine-list is excellent. This is my new favorite place...I'm hesitant to write this review because I don't want this hidden gem to change.

What a great little hidden gem in the small town of "Cornville." This doesn't look like much from the outside, but on the inside it's very nice. There is a great view of the creek- with lush green trees- very Un-Arizona like. I did not try the food, we just sat at the bar and had a drink. Next time we will try the food and I will report on that. But the decor, view, drinks, bartenders- all great.

Needed to food up after a wine tasting plus some...so we stopped in on the advice of a friend. This rustic restaurant was the one of several perfect stops on our road trip to Jerome. It was lunch time and quite busy, yet the people their we very attentive, friendly, and very tolerant of our wine induced goofiness! Felt lucky to get the last window seat over looking the creek below. Such a great view. The girls decided to go with water spacers while my buddy and I went with margarita spacers. Couldn't remember if you we're supposed to have wine before or after margaritas...oh we'll, they were tasty. Devoured the onion rings w/jalapeño ranch dressing, then wrecked havoc on the fish tacos. The tacos were superb. That was not the margaritas taking either! If you are doing the Verde Valley wine run, add this place to your list!

Stopped in here for a while, while my family was doing a horseback ride. Service and staff were very friendly. I had a great bowl of smoked clam chowder...outstanding. This place has most tables on the windows with a great view of the river and surrounding area. I wish I'd have discovered it sooner so I could return for a full meal.

Up the Creek Grill was an absolute feast for the senses! As we were shown to our seats, we were treated to a window table overlooking the creek, in which a mother duck could be seen with her brood of tiny ducklings swimming in her wake. The service was prompt and friendly, and the decor was cozy and rustic. But what stood out was the quality of the dishes, artfully presented with generous portions. I had the fried chicken and waffles, and my husband had the fish tacos. I chose the herbed mashed potatoes with rib gravy as a side, and there was no looking back! The chicken breast was juicy and moist, and the herbed maple whisky syrup was perfect with the waffles. I can't remember having a better meal in quite some time. We were apparently the only visitors from out of town, as the proprietors seemed to know and recognize many of the guests. The husband and wife owners took time with us as we left, to show off some of the historical pieces and details they had provided in the renovation of this historical building. We loved every moment of our evening at Up the Creek Grill, and WILL be back!

Wonderful place. We arrived as soon as it opened on Saturday. I haven't been in this place since it was remodeled several years ago. I'm glad we stopped in. When you first walk in, the mesquite smell was great. We sat next to the window overlooking the creek. We ordered the Red Rock Chicken and Pulled Pork sandwiches. They were soooo good. Wish we had room to try one of the desserts. From now on, we'll have to plan our drives to go by this place so we can stop in. Staff was very helpful and great servers.

Sites on the banks of the Oak Creek;, cool small bar with western feel. Had lunch - kid friendly. Had the Sedona burger with sweet potato fries. Fries were amazing: covered with garlic. Burger had a great chipotle mayo. Service was great. Stop bye while wine tasting in the area. Good stuff.

Needs a better sign, almost drove right past. Pretty place, even had a roaring fire in the center of the restaurant during lunch. Fabulous service, kitchen uses a bit too much salt in the dishes ( even onion rings are salted, but addictive!) Tomato pie, has more cheese than tomatoes. Nice flare to traditional favorites like BLT, or burgers. Lovely views along the running springs. Will definitely return for a dinner come Spring and summer. Still nice lunch stop.

Great food, great service with friendly people. We had burgers that were the best we've had in the area. Lots of delicious entrees were going by us. Next time we will have to try some. Full bar. Nice view along the creek. Outdoor dining also available. We're definitely going back again, and soon.

We stayed at a 5 star resort while in Sedona- while on a hike to devils bridge, we ran into the sweetest couple that moved to Sedona from Minnasota and asked what the best restaurant was around the area as we had thought the meals thus far were average at best. They recommended "up the creek" and said it is about 15 min from our resort but well worth the drive. So my husband and I went and oh my goodness! We were blown away! I have eaten at many restaurants domestically and internationally and I will have to say this ranks as a top restaurant that I have eaten at in my life! First of all it is clear that the owners are passionate about their food and the dining experience. My husband is a vegetarian and the black bean burger was amazing. The red wine blend that we chose was not astronomically jacked up in price but was very economical. The deserts (buttermilk pie- which I have never had before, was amazing as well as the better than brad Pitt pie. So 2 appetizers, 2 meals, bottle of wine and 2 desserts less than 85 dollars and with the quality that absolutely trumped 5 star resorts and other highly reviewed restaurants. I have never left a 50% tip, but this meal and service was so well worth it! Trust me, treat yourself to this amazing culinary experience. They are only open w- sun so make a reservation!!!! We will be back!!!

ok.. so first off.. I am so behind on writing this long overdue review as we were there for our anniversary trip in October. Second off.. I beyond love Dawn the owner. She is awesome and totally worth going there just to chat with her. Just such great people. My husband Pasquale and I stumbled upon this place by accident and were so happy we did. We had booked horseback riding through the Enchantments and were told to meet there for the tour. Unfortunately the tour company never showed up with the horses to pick us up.. but it worked in our favor as we ended up having a fantastic meal and had a blast speaking to everyone there. We sat at the bar and had a drink while we were waiting. We were quickly greeted by Dawn and her staff who were so welcoming. After about a half hour of chatting with everyone we realized our horses weren't showing up and decided to order a bite. The food was fantastic! We got the fish tacos and the BLTA. Both were amazing. Flavorful and fresh! And the sweet potato fries should not be missed. We live in NYC so we are used to great food and service and this place had both! Dawn gave us some advice to head to Jerome for a wine tasting and to check out the galleries and about a great drive to take the next morning in the convertible we rented. Both were such great bits of advise and really some great moments on our trip. I highly recommend making it a point to stop here. Not just for the food but for the conversation and for the staff that really just goes above and beyond for the customers and really seems to care about what they do.

This is a wonderful restaurant just in Page Springs above the wineries the place has been completely remodeled and has a wonderful new look. They have also completely gone through the menu and gave it a gourmet twist.

We've eaten at this establishment several times over the past 20 years. It used to be a cowboy bar/grille with the best prime rib. It's since closed down and reopened. The style is the same but the service is equal to a five star restaurant (that's why I'm giving 5 stars). even though we didn't have reservations were seating nicely next to the fireplace (candles - not roaring fire). The host/owner suggested a nice bottle of wine, HandCraft Merlot. The wine was wonderful and paired well with our salad, steak, and "better than Brad Pitt" dessert. Everything, right down to the outstanding service was exceptional. We now rate "Up A Creek" as one of our favorite restaurants in Arizona.

This place is a true hidden gem!! Under new ownership, Mario and his business partner & chef have given this place a total revamp. The food is fresh and fantastic! I would never expect to get such a flavorful and perfectly cooked meal from the outer exterior appearance of this place. Don't judge a book by its cover. Nice wine list featuring lots of AZ wines and local craft beers. The ambiance is so peaceful looking out over Oak Creek. Be sure to go just before sunset to watch the playful hummingbirds drink from the many feeders they have in front of the large windows. The staff was super friendly and our appetizers of the ceviche and grilled shrimp were amazing. They really capture a ton of flavors while incorporating unique and local ingredients. Our entrees followed shortly after and the salmon and sea bass special were both to die for. To top it all off our party shared a few desserts as well. The Creme Brûlée was gone in an instant and the flourless chocolate cake was sinfully delicious. If you are on your way to Sedona this is a definite must try place. Not only is the food outstanding but the chef is also a classically trained concert pianist. If you are lucky, and the kitchen isn't too busy he may come out and tickle the ivories for your listening pleasure. They also just started doing monthly wine dinners which I am very eager to try. So excited to have a new favorite place to go to when I am visiting the Sedona/Page Springs area.

WOW! Amazing! A MUST when visiting Sedona. We were a little worried when we drove up. It looks more like a beer bar where you would get a greasy burger and fries. Up The Creek is so far from that. We started our evening at their Happy Hour. The wine list wasn't extensive, but it didn't need to be. Mario, the bartender and owner, helped us pick a nice Saviguon Blanc from California. He then surprised us with an impromptu wine tasting, giving us samples off few French wines that were superb. The cost of the bottles of wine were reasonable. We did order, at Mario's suggestion, the ceviche. AMAZING! Fresh, delicious and the presentation was lovely. Moving on to dinner the menu choices were exciting. We had 6 people in our party and we ordered trout, ribeye, pork chop, étouffée and a salmon dish. Kudos to the chef, total quality. Every dish was delicious. We were impressed with the final bill too. With a bottle of the French wine and a couple more drinks our total bill was around $200. Incredible! Put on your Must-Do list!

My husband and I went with 4 other friends to celebrate a birthday tonight and were surprised to find the menu had just been changed. First off we were disappointed to discover they no longer have Harris Ranch meat. Then between the 6 of us we ordered the Louisiana Étouffée- very bland and had some sort of odd sausage, the trout - not completely cooked and full of bones, the Seafood Quartet - just not very flavorful!! We sure hope they go back to their original menu!

The food was good. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It could have used a bit more bbq sauce but I didn't really ask. Husband ordered the Sedona burger and ate it all, quickly. Small place and friendly atmosphere. I would come back b

My husband and I tried Up the Creek when we were newly engaged and visiting the Vineyards B&B with his parents. Let me just say, I had some chowder and the fried chicken...and it was the best thing EVER. I'm from the South, and I thought I knew good chicken...i knew nothing. It was fantastic. I then had creme brûlée, because I needed a caloric overdose. :) It was perfect as well. Flash forward a few months, and it is wedding weekend! Jim O'Meally was the man in charge of our rehearsal dinner and he rocked the freaking house! I tried all the food, including his fabulous salmon, which was cooked perfectly, and not too fishy :). I also tried the short ribs, which were fall-off-the-bone delicious!! We had about 26 people for our rehearsal dinner, and only a couple of attendants/servers. But NEVER was a glass nearing empty, nor bellies hungry! They served our food immediately in rapid succession, and we were all having a great time, being noisy, and conversing loudly, despite our mouths freaking out over the amazing flavors! I had two great drinks, and when we did shots, our waitress was so lovely as to "split" one of the shots evenly down the middle for one of my girlfriends and I. Salads were followed by entrees, which were followed by the great and fabulous BUTTERMILK PIE. It was plated beautifully, with whipped creme, and drizzled with caramel. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.. I also had the pleasure of Jim playing a few songs for the wedding the next day. He is a man of MANY talents, and played beautifully! There is also a piano in the restaurant which he plays sometimes. What a great person!! If you're in the area, eat at Up The Creek! You'll be so thankful you did!!!

I stopped by here on my way back to Phoenix with my wife and daughter for lunch. We were enjoying a rainy day view of the creek from their dining room with fantastic views of the hummingbirds. My wife had their special fish and chips. The batter on the fish had a unique flavor that was absolutely delicious. The slaw was fresh and amazing. The fries were just as good as we remembered from last time. My daughter had the blta. It was also fresh and absolutely delicious. She wouldn't let me take more than a bite of it. I ordered the Page Springs burger. The burger was cooked to perfection. The green chili and mushrooms had a great flavor to them. The burger had a flame kissed backyard BBQ taste to it. Not like any other restaurant I've ever been to. We finished with a homemade slice of lemon cheesecake. As full as we were we still managed to eat it. It really must have been homemade. Everything tasted fresh. Even the ketchup and tartar sauce tasted homemade. Their water is still the best I've ever had. They say their mission is to create food that speaks to the soul - well they certainly delivered and in an environment that can't be beat.

Yelp fail. At time of writing this place is voted number two for restaurants in the Cottonwood/Sedona area but there are service issues. Food is ok. I ask for wifi code to CREEKGUEST. Server says there's no wifi because as of last wednesday there is new management. I ordered the creek moss soup. Server brings chowder. I say I asked for the creek moss soup. She says she heard me say chowder. I'm thinking its not my fault server heard something I didn't say and server doesn't write down the order on paper to begin with. Server acknowledges mistake. Chowder is exchanged for creek soup. Bill is brought to table. The bill says chowder which costs 2 dollars more. Server acknowledges mistake. Bill is reprinted with correct information.

We stumbled across UTCG on our wine tour, it looks very nondescript from the outside and clearly for people in the know. We abruptly stopped on Easter Sunday lured in by a Rack of Lamb poster. Inside its like everyone's favorite cabin hideaway, located on the creek, the view is lovely. The service was great, the check came out to ask how I wanted my lamb and back again after I had finished. He was concerned I wanted it well done. It was delish, the beet salad was delish, the creme brulee was delish, the sparkling rose delish (I kid you not naysayers and snobs). It is the best gourmet good ever, probably not, BUT this food was made with love for sure and the best we had in Sedona. And did I say very reasonably priced.

We were staying at the RV park down the hill and had been walking the trails along Oak Creek and around the fish hatchery. We stopped in at the Up The Creek Grill and Bar for beverages and an appetizer. The place is in a bend in the road with ample parking and it would be a great meeting place for lunch or a brew for bikers or motorists looking for a break. It was very charming with a woodsy feel and diners have a great view of Oak Creek about 20-30 feet below. Also, hummingbird feeders outside the windows provide constant entertainment while enjoying company or waiting on your meal. We had adult beverages and soft drinks with an order of onion rings and found the service to be very friendly and prompt. We prepared our own meals in the RV, but would not hesitate to come here for lunch or dinner when we are back in the area. Please note, they are CLOSED Monday and Tuesday.

i'm e.e. cummings today: forgive. this was unexpectedly amazing food. some of the best food I've had in arizona, or out of state for a long time, for that matter. i guess the owner/chef just acquired this joint in december, so perhaps some of the reviews don't pertain, but here's a hint: we had rabbit ravioli as an appetizer, and our entrees were rack of elk, tomato tapenade polenta, wild mushroom bruschetta, and a delicious t-bone steak. every morsel was divine. of course, the views of the blue herons, the hummingbirds, the alleged river otters, and the snapping turtle below certainly contribute to the ambiance, which is half doublewide, half lowbrow tasting room. the owner is a pianist - he even teaches at NAU (or did), and he decided to play us some classical music, ragtime, and rolling stones covers, as well as "angel from montgomery," which made me tear up. all told, a simultaneously raucous, cacophonous, rural arizona, upscale good time. p.s. they serve all kinds of verde valley vino, and most food is hyperlocally sourced. recommend to the 100th.

We went to Up the Creek Grill thinking we would be dining in a basic diner along the road. Much to our surprise the food was awesome! I personally had the beef ribs and found them to be very tasty, well seasoned, tender and juicy. There were 8 of us in our group and everyone was very pleased with our meal. We also shared every dessert on the menu. Again, awesome. My compliments to the Chef.

I would give them 6 stars if I could! UTC Grill was quaint, beautiful, and what a view! The service is top-notch as well! My husband and I took our 2 girls there on our way back to Phoenix. The place itself is smaller but with giant picture windows running down its back wall, it feels large. The wood floors, walls, and ceilings make it feel homey and warm. The bathroom was even cute, clean, and well appointed. We were greeted kindly as we came in and allowed to select our table. As we looked over the menu, I was impressed with the large selection of dishes filled with local flavor. Even the beef they use is from a local farm. We ordered the girls quesadillas. They came with french fries, a drink, and, to our children's pleasant surprise, ice cream!!! All that for only $6! I ordered a cheeseburger and it was literally the best cheeseburger I've had in years. The bun itself was a religious experience. My hubby had the veggie burger; it was not your typical frozen reheated soggy patty, instead it was crispy, full of flavor, and huge! The fries that accompanied our entrées were seasoned to perfection, they do not season the kid's fries though unless you ask and that is awesome as our girls are very finicky. The ice cream they served the girls was big enough that they shared a few bites with us; yum! While eating, we saw an otter playing in the creek. What a neat experience! The view out the windows is to die for. You'd never know from the front of the restaurant that the inside would be so pretty. We will be back to this little sophisticated rustic gem next time we are up north.

Big fan of Up the Creek! The flavors here are excellent. We started off with several appetizers that I can highly recommend. There was a Scottish smoked salmon that was excellent (even worth the $10.50 price tag), and the onion rings! Ok, you would think you've had enough onion rings over the years, but I'm telling you, they're different here, you have to try them. Then I had a chicken sandwich that was the Chef's choice of the day and it was so good too. My wife got the clam chowder. They have their own take on a classic. Normally I would say, "Don't mess with a classic like clam chowder." But this is a real winner! It had this smoky, indescribable quality.... Anyway, also good drink selection with a lot of good craft beers on tap. If you're out in this area, you can't go wrong here. Oh, also, nice views and great rustic decor. Service was very good also.

The new owner has a lot to learn when it comes to customer service. We arrived at the restaurant a few minutes past 8 PM. it clearly states they are open until 9 PM. We walked in and the wait staff and bartender stared at us like we had two heads each! We were promptly told they had stopped serving food BUT we could stay if we wanted to purchase alcohol. We declined and left. The time before this night they agreed to serve us food (arrived at 7:45 pm) but acted like they couldn't wait until we left. We had several expensive glasses of wine and ordered entrees (not burgers) so our tab was significant. Previous owner and bartender were outstanding! They always made you feel welcome no matter when you arrived to spend your hard earned money. I am not saying the food isn't good, it is or we wouldn't have tried it again. However, poor customer service has stopped me from trying again.

What a great spot, with a nice view of Oak Creek. The service was excellent with a pretty impressive collection of craft and local beers. The food was awesome, we had the Cowboy Burger and Fish Tacos, both were great. The Onion Rings were homemade cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back!

Third year in a row for Mother's Day and still love the place. Would have preferred not sitting in the addition as it's not really like being in the restaurant but more like dining in someone's enclosed carport. Won't let it happen again especially since I made the rez a month ago. Great food and wine selection though.

The food was so good! Everyone loved their steak and the fish was excellent. Don't pass up the buttermilk pie. Yummy! The service was also very attentive.

After a long day of travel and sightseeing we were looking for a place to eat around Cornville, a place with decent food and not "Sedona" pricing. We saw Up the Creek Grill was close and gave it a shot. Bingo !! It hits high marks across the board. Even though it was kinda late, everybody was really nice. The food was good and reasonably priced. The beer was cold and even in the dark the view wasn't bad. Give this place a try ! The onion rings were everything the server said they would be !!

Off the beaten path, charming older creek side bistro - a great spot for a great value meal. Our server, Elizabeth, was attentive and helpful -providing great service. Our salads were fresh and tasty. My wife enjoyed her fish tacos and I found the grilled salmon to be perfectly prepared.

New management and it shows. The menu has changed and the best part of the menu has been taken away-fried chicken and waffles. Also, the former fish tacos were soooo good and they took that off the menu as well. My hubby ordered the burger and it was served on an English muffin which wasn't a great choice but they could've made it toasty. Instead it was mushy. Oddly, they placed the pickle on top of the English muffin making it soggy. My BLTA was fine but not worth making the hour drive we have been willing to make so far. We had a great waitress who diligently took our order but the kitchen somehow skipped right over my order and so my food came out later than the rest of my family. We won't be going back and will stop recommending this cute little place. So sad.

Awesome burgers! Awesome view! No fish in the creek because of the fire but hopefully they will come back. New management is awesome, been stomping in here for years! A Verde Valley Landmark!

Scenic drive worth taking and then to have such an AWESOME place to stop and be taken care of so well. Fantastic setting, service was top shelf as well as all the food our group was served! Buttermilk pie worth the trip alone! We will be returning as often as we can! Keep up the GREAT service Greg and Dawn!

We've been coming here for years-back when it was a true cowboy bar. Fantastic setting by the creek- great burgers but this time I had the Filet mignon and it was one of the best I ever had. Ranks up there with Ruth's Chris at half the price. Very tender, perfectly cooked to M rare ( what else for a good steak) They use Harris Ranch meat-no steroids, etc. Word of caution- very crowded on Saturdays due to their awesome prime rib specials so come early or be prepared to wait! It's worth it. Another plus-they start dinner at 4PM, nice for early birds. Negative- they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays!

Good food, not "Great" but good. Service was quick and well handled, though as quick as food was served, it's not freshly prepared. Awesome views of the creek, and the server was super. Nice selection of wines.

Wow, I will go here often. Everything was well seasoned, started with onion rings, fresh handmade. I had the sedona burger, I am still craving it the next day. My husband had the prime rib, rare. He really enjoyed it. We had the flourless chocolate cake w/ raspberry sauce. I would highly recommend this place. The staff was very friendly and down to earth.

We so enjoyed the very delicious dinner we had here a few days ago! We came with our three kids, two of them teens with hearty appetites. The setting of the restaurant is warm and charming, and after a big day of hiking we found it relaxing. We started with the mushroom bruschetta and rabbit ravioli, both had great depth of flavor and were excellent. Our kids then got the French onion soup, which they loved, and my husband and I had salads. I got the kale salad with lemon dressing and grapes, my husband had the Caesar. Both were dressed perfectly, and the halved grapes and pink peppercorns in my kale salad gave it nice balance and flavor. I had the Queen's steak, a filet mignon with a beautiful sauce set on top of a potato gratin. Amazingly delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband had the rainbow trout in almandine crust, which he enjoyed very much. Our kids all ordered steak, the porterhouse which was delicious served with mashed potatoes and to their delight, fried onion rings on top. Our youngest son got the flat iron steak, which he loved. The desserts were excellent too. The lemon cheesecake was served with a delicately flavored almond cream, with a crisp graham crust. It was light in texture, yum. The creme brûlée was lovely, and the buttermilk pie was to die for - perfect balance of filling to crust served with whipped cream and drizzled with caramel. The service was attentive and very friendly, and the view of oak creek is lovely. A wonderful evening for our whole family!

Came to Up the Creek twice this last weekend. The first night it was part of our Verde Birding dusk event, we preordered from a menu and I wasn't anticipating such a great meal. We had crawfish etouffee and the pork chop, wow... both were incredible, the pork was so moist and flavorful. They have an excellent wine list as well with both local, California, French and Italian wines. It was so good we came back a couple nights later, enjoyed the mushroom bruschetta app... toasted crostini with a wild mushrooms sauté in a cheesy, creamy sauce that was so addictive I could have had 10 more.. .rich though! We also had a flat iron steak and rib eye. Another person in our party ordered the salmon so Mario (owner and bartender, and wine expert!) recommended a French Cote du Rhone to go with everyone's meal. It was outstanding. Chocolate torte to top off... great location as well. Right on Oak Creek, great birding from the windows. Dozens of hummingbirds at the feeders and even in the evening up came a black phoebe, vermillion flycatcher and a great blue heron fishing the creek for frogs. Chef even played the piano on break! What a treat, not to expensive, casual, gourmet food and wine, and great fun.
