I really wanted to like this place. On the recommendation of a family member, my wife and I tried this new cajun restaurant in White Hall. There was only one other group of people in the restaurant on a Friday night, so that's never a great sign. The menu looked appealing overall, so I was pretty excited this type of establishment was here in a place where there's an overall lack of good restaurants. It quickly turned south and sadly got in line with the rest of the eating establishments. We asked for the "Gator Tails" for appetizers, but they were out. We decided to just get our entrees and skip the apps. I ordered a Shrimp Po-Boy and my wife ordered a Mardi Gras burger. I can't speak about the taste of the food, because all we tasted was salt. Salt, salt, and more salt. The burger was well-overdone, but the meat tasted ok...if you could get through the salt. My god, the salt. The same with the po-boy. Drenched in a cajun spice mixture that was 90% salt and a little cayenne. We asked for dessert, as creme brulee and bread pudding at $3 is hard to turn down, no matter how potentially bad it could be. However, they were all out of dessert except "a sugar cone and a scoop of ice cream." We declined. I really hope this place can get better. I want it to succeed. But it's got a long ways to go, in my opinion.
