This Western Sizzlin has the biggest buffet I have seen at a WS in Northwest Arkansas. Given we did come right when they opened, everything was clean, orderly, and well presented. They open at 10:45, my uncle and I had been waiting since 10:30. They opened about 5 minutes early for us and a few others. How nice! Waitress was nice and the the manager stopped by and checked on the tables. Great service and hospitality. Western Sizzlin is really the epitome of southern cooking. I really enjoyed it!

Flamkist. It is a word that for anyone in the North West Arkansas area brings to mind some really great quality home style food and grilled steaks. I remember going to Western Sizzlin as a kid on Sundays after church, and it was the next best thing to a home cooked meal. Western Sizzlin was started back in 1962 in Augusta, Georgia. They then started setting up franchise locations in 1966 and the rest is history. This particular location has been around for some time now, though I am not sure just exactly how many years. But one thing is for sure, they know how to serve up great quality food in a very family friendly setting. The buffet portion of the restaurant is very nice, everything there was hot and fresh and an all around nice selection of food. Value to price is definitely there in regards to the food, and the facility can also handle large groups which is nice. All of the buffet areas were clean and well kept. You will find lots of great choices in the buffet area, but don't forget that they also have a menu you can order from as well. I have been wanting to get by their Springdale location for some time now, and finally got the opportunity to get over there. They are located just off of Hwy 540 (east side of highway) on the north side of Sunset Blvd, less than a mile down the road. Right when you step through the door you are hit with a veritable plethora of "home cooking" smells, that is sure to bring back memories of all of those great Sunday dinners you had at home as a kid. This is a definite must stop for families of any size, we had a group of eight and they were able to easily accommodate us. A sampling of the buffet offerings confirmed their commitment to quality food. The meats were moist and cooked perfectly, and the veggies were fresh. The pastas were also prepared nicely as was the rice. And the catfish was very good, nice breading and moist, not overdone as you tend to find in most buffets. This po boy was cooked perfectly, the meat was tender and well flavored. The fries were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. And they were HUGE!! The trout was cooked and seasoned perfectly, this dish really was great and for those trout lovers out there I would suggest this one. The lemon pepper seasoning was spot on. From the kids menu we chose a cheese burger, which was cooked nicely, with fries on the side. Straight forward burger that tasted great. Also from the kids menu we tried a fried shrimp dish. The shrimp were cooked nicely, the breading was very good. Fries on the side. Again, a straight forward dish that tasted very good. The grilled shrimp pasta alfredo was great. The shrimps had great taste and the pasta was spot on, this is a dish that I would order over and over again there. We ordered a 6oz Sirloin, and it was ordered medium to well done. When we got the steak, it was very well done and tough. This was the really only disappointing dish we had, they did offer to redo the steak. In addition we ordered the largest steak they have on their menu, the 16oz rib eye. This was ordered mid to mid well. It also came out well done, which was disappointing. The taste of the steak was great, other than the fact that it was overcooked from what was ordered. The vegetables were grilled and tasted wonderful. During our visit there the staff stayed on top of our table(s), keeping the dirty dishes cleared away and our drinks fresh. And in this day and age, mediocre service just won't cut it, and their service excelled. If I were to grade this establishment just on service alone, they would garner high marks. But now we take into consideration the food. And that really brings them into the spot light as a family restaurant. We had a couple of steak that were overdone, but all the other food was spot on. And they had no issues with offering to redo our steak orders, which is great customer service in my opinion. The offerings from the buffet side are nice, fresh and appealing to most food pallets. And the offerings from their menu are also great and afford you he opportunity to customize your meal and have it the way you want it to be prepared. In addition to a very nice kids meal section there is also a discounted seniors buffet and a buffet by the pound option. And lets not forget their daily lunch menu as well. Overall our visit there was great and I can say whole heartidly in all my visits there, this is money well spent. So if you are looking for a great place to take the family for hearty home style cooked food, this is your place to go. Read the rest of the review on our website.

Same price as Golden Corall, 1/3 the selection, steak costs $1.79 extra for only 6 ounces, service marginal, deserts lacking, food less than warm, never again.

Simply put, this was some of the worst food I've ever attempted to eat. Never again.
