Lol, ok so me and my husband were going to go see a movie with some friends and decided we were going to catch a bite to eat before heading out. I work in the restaurant business so I'm a little bit more lenient than others when it comes to dining in. We sat down and our waiter asked us what we wanted to drink. I asked if refills were free and he said yes!! So I ordered rootbeer. He brought out a bottle of rootbeer to me, and I asked after I was finished for a refill. He hesitantly replied, "Oh um..actually I forgot to tell you that there are no free refills on rootbeer because it comes in a bottle..." A little annoying since I specifically asked if refills were free before ordering that soda but I let that slide. Next me and my husband both ordered two burritos. The steak was amazing and perfect!! However my rice in my burrito didn't look like it even touched the fry pan... Another man sitting next to our table asked me if my rice was raw too, I just laughed and said yeah it is. I don't understand paying 10 dollars for a burrito with raw rice...I understood by that point why me and my husband were the only people in the entire restaurant other than the guy sitting across from our table. I get that their a bar, and therefore they will only be serving "bar food" which is not really supposed to be ""amazing"" but seriously...when our waiter came back an hour later to check on us I asked him if me and my husband could get new burritos because of the rice and he simply said, "Sorry I can't do that.." and walked away simple as that. At that point the guy sitting next to us got up and said, "Well I'm leaving.." really disappointing. My advice to the people who work in this establishment is don't serve raw food, tell the customers what their buying, and work on your appearance. I don't mean your physical looks, I mean sitting on top of the bar making sexual jokes with the only female in the restaurant. It looks bad, and you should care more about your customers. If I were to pull something like that where I worked I would be automatically fired.

Decent food and drinks. $5 pitchers on Mondays... Nice expanded patio for outdoor seating. I definitely recommend the food here over the Jose's in Springdale.

I come here fairly often and the food and service has always been good. The prices are also very good. During lunch time the special burrito with yellow sauce is filling and for $6 the best deal around. Keep it up.

The white queso and margaritas were sad, both very bland. With so-so service and poor food, I don't think we will be back, which is too bad- the live music was good!

I have always loved to eat here. Last Saturday night 5 of us went here to eat. The host and hostess was rude and said they didn't have room for us. I know they were busy but it was apparent they weren't even going to try. We left and went to another place. I posted a polite message on Facebook and to my surprise they blocked me from being able to comment or send them a message. I only posted one comment. Very rude.

Vegetarian friendly and awesome salsas! We had quesadillas, with a la carte taco for my son, 2 beef tacos a la carte for hubby, and spinach quesadilla for myself. Very tasty, so try, try not to spoil your appetite on the salsa, guacamole, and chips - even though they too are delish! The tomatillo sauce was perfect for the crispy spinach quesadilla, and our server was very vegetarian conscious, telling me there was a vegetarian rice option (not cooked in chicken broth), and black beans not cooked in bacon fat like the brown beans. Great food, great service!

I ate in a chinese restaurant in Baghdad in the summer of 2004. That place stored veggies IN the bathroom dangerously close to the hole in the floor that served as a toilet. During the evening hours the place doubled as a brothel. Additionally, meals were interrupted by a steady stream of helicopters carrying wounded to the hospital next door. It is without doubt that I say I would rather eat at that Chinese place in Baghdad. Joses was dirty, completely disorganized, and the food was terrible. I ordered chicken fajitas expecting a sizzling plate of seasoned chicken, bell peppers, onions, and other ingredients that I have found im fajitas all over the world. What arrived at my table was a plate of soggy grease soaked onions with chicken on top. The food was bad enough to warrant one star. The second star was for my server. I would go back to eat at Joses if every single eating establishment on the planet closed simultaneously.

I really wish I had more positivity to add to this review, but this was probably the sorriest excuse for a MEXICAN restaurant I've ever seen. The chips were cold, it took forever for me to get refills on water (the salsa is spicy), and the food was not good. I thought I was making a smart move by getting the sriracha tilapia tacos... Nope. They were cold, with lots of lettuce and barely any tilapia. Please don't order this dish. You're safer ordering a quesadilla. The Bloody Mary which was a special was petty awful. On the upside, there are tvs at the tables which is great if you want to go in, watch the game and have some drinks. They have specials on drink frequently, and I actually did like the peach margarita. Order that! I would not like to return to one of these restaurants. I just like good food too much.

Food took forever to come out and was greasy and disgusting. My fries were overcooked and my burger was a greasy ball of trash. The buns were cheap and caused the contents to leak out everywhere. The music in here is all happy top 40 trash which is annoying and they have TVs at every table..not sure why a sw grill has top 40 music and sports bar tvs. The wait staff is all 16-19 and have no idea what they are doing. Also this place looks like a cheap and tacky party store threw up all over the inside. At least they have Core.

NWA has a ton of really solid, "true" Mexican restaurants. I'm insanely jealous of the options around here; after moving north, I realized how lucky NWA is when it comes to Mexcian food fare. And while Jose's leans more toward the "Tex" side of the menu, it's a solid option. We arrived at around 6:30pm on a Friday night and asked for a table for three. A short wait ensued, so we took the opportunity to grab a tall cold one from the bar. The bar had an average selection of taps, all of which were around $5 for a 23oz pour. We had no sooner received our drinks when we were told the table was ready. Chips and salsa arrived within seconds. The chips were decent - thicker cut, slightly (ever so slightly) greasy; the salsa was thin and watery, although there were big chunks of peppers and tomato to provide some substance. We ordered the yellow queso, and then browsed the menu. The queso arrived and was quite tasty - a much better option than the salsa. Entrees were ordered; chicken chimichanga, chicken burrito, and a combo platter that included a taco, an enchilada, and one other item that escapes my memory. A note about the meats they serve-up at Jose's: the chicken is shredded and simmered in a broth of some type - it's not fajita style "chunked" chicken. The ground beef is similar to what you'd find on a cafeteria sloppy Joe. I've never tried the fajita beef, so I can't comment on it - I'm hoping it's cuts/chunks of steak. My chicken burrito was decent. A little bland, but not bad. I slathered a little of that yellow gold (queso) over it, and that helped things. The chimichanga was nicely done - Jose's doesn't add cheese to the inside, so it wasn't overwhelmed with grease. The combo platter looked good and received good reviews. Service was excellent - our waitress regularly checked-in on us and offered to refill our chips several times. The environment was open and airy, with just the right level of background noise - we were able to chat comfortably - almost too comfortably, as we didn't leave until nearly 10pm (the 23oz'ers were really hitting the spot). Jose's = WIN Service = 4 stars Food = 2.5 stars (a bit bland, not really authentic Mexican) Value = 3.5 stars (reasonable drinks, food a tad pricey, but not bad) MISC = 3 stars (average restaurant) If you're looking for some tame Mexcian-fare, Jose's will suit your needs. If you're looking for true, authentic Mexican-fare, check out some of the local taquerias or places like Maria's and Acambaro.

The price of all items under is very reasonable. The mexican food was great for the price. I ordered 10 oz steak with my meal, that was a mistake, it tasted like frozen beef. I ordered medium rare, it was rare and under cook. Nice place but a little out dated. I would come again only to order mexican food. Service was great.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
