Been here 3 times. 1st time was week of opening and while I thought the food was pretty good, the wait in line was pretty long. So I thought I'd try again at a less busy time. This visit, there was no one else in line when we arrived. Nonetheless, we waited quite a while to order while the man sliced up copious amounts of meat - for future customers I'm assuming as we were pretty much the only ones there. I also was less impressed with the food this time. The pulled pork was fatty and the sliced chicken, while tender and having a good flavor, was cold. The last issue on this visit: they were mostly out of BBQ sauce. Really? really. It's a self-serve station at the end with 3 different styles of sauce (regular, sweet and spicy.) They only had spicy left. We pointed out perhaps we could use one of the dozens of bottles of regular BBQ sauce sitting by the register for sale.... but alas, no. So you're asking "why go back for a 3rd visit?" I'm asking that myself. It's one of those "somebody-else-picked-the-restaurant-and-I-have-to-go" situations. 3rd visit (abridged version): another long wait despite few people (again - lots of chopping and slicing of large amounts of meat delaying the ordering process) Funky chemical-tasting beans that had to be returned. And ribs that were expensive but sparse on the meat. Plus they hadn't removed the rib membrane prior to cooking - amateur move. This place isn't awful, but not worth the money and I'd rather eat Whistle Stop or even Rib Crib if in Searcy. Or maybe I'll just drive up to KC for the real deal: Oklahoma Joes. So for now, here's hoping there's no 4th visit.

I visited Dickey's today for the 2nd time in 12 months. The first time I wasn't impressed with food or service but I thought I would give them another try. This time I went through drive thru since it was raining . The girl at the window was polite and efficient ; Grade A I ordered a pulled pork sandwich $5.95 and 2 sides: mustard potato salad and dill potato salad, $3.50. My drink was a large diet Coke, $2.25. With tax it was $12.81. Overall Grade F Pulled pork had almost no smoke flavor and it was very watery. The moisture soaked into the bun making it soggy! Grade: F Mustard potato salad was made out of potato chunks and mashed potatoes. The color was orange! The experience made me quit eating them after 3 spoonfuls. Grade: F Dill potato salad had potato chunks in it but some were under cooked. They used a lot of mayo in the recipe. The potato salad was B- Original BBQ sauce was very good ! It was sweet with some heat at the end . A+ Large diet Coke $2.25. Too expensive. Grade:D- Well, I have tried it twice and that's enough for me !

Tried this BBQ joint while in town visiting family and the food was all pretty good, but the line to order and pay was a bit convoluted. The area to get drinks, sauces, utensils, and ice cream was too close to the line to order and pay. This is what made it a bit congested, especially when waiting for your food. It might be a better approach to have a food runner to take orders to tables to eliminate the number of people standing and waiting and thus causing congestion. With regard to the food, it's was pretty tasty, but I don't recommend the cornbread bun. It was too crumbly. A nice little perk is the free ice cream, but for the price I'm not sure it's really "free".
