Impressed today. Here for a Friday brunch. Extending a few breakfast items through closing. French Toast was surprisingly good. And this is the first time the bacon was heavenly!!! Thick cut, well done, crunchy and not too salty...just perfect. Didn't like the lemon pie. Took away 1 star because they ran out of fried chicken. I waited 15 min. Our server, Tiffany, was very polite and attentive to both of us.

Now that I've recovered from my visit it's time to write about my experience. The customers are a cross of the worst of Walmart and the Greyhound Bus statiom on Argenta. The waitresses know all the regulars very well, have their cell numbers and live in the same area. The downside for a non-non-regular is that you don't get more than one cup of coffee. The bacon is bacon dust it's so over cooked, the meat of whatever type pork, beef chicken or the dry ham. The other items which are plentiful just don't taste like food. Everything seems to be fries or very overcooked. If the stores ran out of food and this was the only place available to eat, I'd go out and look for rabbits or other game with a slingshot.

First off, I love the owner of this restaurant due to his community service and volunteerism. Now, as for the restaurant...GROSS! This buffet is hastily put together by harried staff because the customers won't hardly allow them to replenish! Children running around breathing and touching food, old people staggering around wasting food, and fat folks piling food on their plates like its the Last Supper and Jesus is Coming! As for the take-out service, you pay by weight. I've taken my elderly mom food home and it's cost me a king's ransom! Thank God for the elderly and people with large family members and undisciplined children as they keep this place in business. I would not advise anyone seeking a reasonably priced meal in a good environment to ever darken the doors of this place.

This location was alright. The food wasn't as good as I've experienced elsewhere, but I did happen to eat here an hour before closing time, so I suppose that's a bit of an excuse... Staff wasn't as friendly as I've come to expect. They all seemed to just hand off their tables to each other and didn't really want to provide service to anyone in the last hour. I get that they're tired and ready to go home, but there's still a business to run, here. I'd be hesitant to come back here again.

I love the concept of this chain, because everyone can eat what they want and there is so much variety - kids adore this place which is why I've been dragged here so often! The mashed potatoes are yum, because they appear to use the leftover baked potatoes. The fried catfish is good, the baked spaghetti, the pot roast, the desserts, and the salad bar has plenty of choices (including petite shrimp, chicken, and steak when it's properly filled). The boasted grilled to order steak is always chewy sadly, and the Chinese items are just disgusting - so salty and dry. The breakfast bar is a fun treat for families. The restaurant itself is so dirty! I've slipped before trying to get to bathroom and the bathrooms are dirty. The staff is super polite but so overworked for what they probably get compensated, and management/corporate are apathetic. We went in one night, and I wrote corporate about all the foods that were missing and the dirty/unsafe conditions (including an uncooked bread pudding that made some of us ill) and no response at all. Take your families if they just beg and beg but watch the food quality and safety; this is not a couples' place - it's very loud and definitely feels like a "corral."

I really dislike this restaurant. Not necessarily this particular location, but Golden Corral in general. In my opinion, the food is very bland. The buffet always seems to be in disarray and the restaurant in general doesn't seem very clean. I have only gone here once or twice, as friends that were visiting requested this restaurant. It's just...not my thing. Luke warm, mediocre buffet food. Although, the staff is typically friendly, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, I find it very unappetizing.

After my initial less than happy experience at Golden Corral, I figured I'd never have to set foot in the place again. Oh, how I was wrong. Much the same way Amy Winehouse stumbles her way back to her dopeman for more sweet, delicious crack, I was destined to come back here, for better or for worse. Having to escort mom to North Little Rock on some business that took most of the morning, I figured we'd grab some dinner on the way back home. But being it's a lengthy drive back, and moms was getting hungry, we were going to stop somewhere. Now. Before I could whip out the iPhone and yelp something nearby, she says Golden Corral. I begin to protest, but stop...I didn't feel like getting slapped upside the head again. So off we go, back to the spot that had let me down so badly only a couple of days prior, preparing myself for more gastric torture. What a difference a day (or two) makes. Walking in, I can see lots more activity behind the scenes; employees are bustling around, cleaning up behind the counters, and swapping around and/or replenishing trays of food. Interesting contrast to the ghost town a couple nights prior. Grabbing a plate, I walk by the salad bar that was so barren on my first visit, and I was shocked. Yeah, that pre-made Ceasar was still there, but around it were lots of other fixings, including huge bowls of fresh romaine, chopped iceberg, and even a "spring mix" of salad greens. Wow, looks like I'll get a salad after all - I heaped up a plate with those greens, added some sliced grilled chicken, some blue cheese, and a bit of ranch for the tastiest, unhealthiest salad in town. Alright GC, you've redeemed yourself in salads...let's see what else you got. Heading back to the entrees, I saw many of the same items as I did the first visit, but right away noticed the trays looked fresher, and were being turned over very quickly by the employees. I also noted a few new things, like battered fish filets, habanero shrimp, and mini sliders, that I hadn't seen the first trip. Grabbing a little of each to go alongside my mashed potatoes and bourbon st. chicken ("safe" items I'd gotten the first time), I head back to the table. While the chicken and potatoes weren't bad, and much the same as last time, the new items I tried were actually pretty good. The habanero shrimp are those tiny fried shrimp we've all had at one point or another, but lightly coated with a slightly sweet, slightly spicy sauce that was actually pretty tasty. The fried fish would have been unremarkable if it weren't for the batter; swear to God, it tasted just like the batter Pioneer chicken (r.i.p.) used on their legendary chicken. Nostalgia points. And the mini burgers (sliders) were surprisingly tasty; while only a couple inches across, each one had a warm, toasted bun with a beefy patty about as thick as my palm inside, dressed with a bit of American cheese, and a crunchy slice of dill pickle. The patty was juicy and flavorful on its own; I didn't even bother adding mustard or ketchup. So I don't know if the management had a sudden revelation, or if they had read my prior review, but whatever happened, I must say this Golden Corral really turned things around from my first visit. The employees were super efficient, and put out some tasty food this go-around. I actually wouldn't mind going back for more of those sliders.

Let me preface this review by saying I am a portly fellow, so I don't object (strictly) on some crunchy granola health food grounds...but Golden Corral is terrible, ya'll. The buffet is like the hog trough at the county fair with various poorly contained containers of swill lined up one after the other. And by poorly contained I mean the contents seem to wind up in the next container, on the counter and even on the floor. And while it's not the fault of Golden Corral that people cannot for whatever God forsaken reason successfully manage to get their macaroni & cheese from the container to their plate, they could at least see about cleaning up afterwards. The food itself is standard buffet, but I'd say a little more toward the sub-standard side of things. The much ballyhooed "made to order" steaks are made to order only if your order is medium cuz that's all they seem to have. And the dessert portion of the buffet is, I swear, larger than the "real food" section. The desserts, while numerous, are all extremely sugary. As a Temple of Gluttony, the Golden Corral surely reigns supreme. But as even a moderately healthy *restaurant* it fails big-time. You're far better off going elsewhere to an establishment where you don't have to get into gladiatorial combat with the other patrons to secure a spot at the mashed potatoes & gravy only to have to wade your way through various floor-strewn bits of carrot, green beans and sweet potatoes to get back to your table.

Took the spouse to Golden Corral this past Veterans Day as she wanted a steak. While we were several days early for the free meal offer, we were extended a 10% discount. Unlike previous visits we found the buffet fairly clean and well managed. The spouse enjoyed her cook to order steak and sides. Not being much of a beef eater, I opted for the bourbon chicken, fried catfish and lots of vegetables. The carrots were not mushy to both our surprise. Our only disappointment was the cook to order crab cake. Its was like a greasy crab flavored pancake. Sorry, GC. My cousin is a retired veteran. There was an ad in the local paper stating that there would be a free meal for all Vets on Veteran's Day. He went there on Friday but was told it was a misprint and the free meal was actually today, Monday, Nov.14 which is NOT Veteran's Day. . He drove all the way over there again today and was informed that there was fine print that said the meal was only good from 5-9 p.m. If Golden Corral really wants to give our veterans a meal, it should not have conditions. i don't know why i come here. i feel like crap every time i leave. but sometimes i simultaneously want pizza, a burger, fried chicken, shrimp caesar salad, bourbon chicken, honey butter rolls, lasagna, and a taco. i haven't figured out another way to quench these types of cravings. so until i have my own chef on staff to cook whatever i want at my whim, i will just have to sack up and line up at the trough that is golden corral. p.s. i have to go by myself b/c my wife will absolutely not join me here. then i feel awkward b/c i'm eating like a horse by myself at a crappy buffet. and when i look around, i see lots of other men doing the same thing. everyone looks sad. except this one guy, who i have seen at the same table the last two times i went. he is chipper and knows all the servers' names. it kind of freaks me out. i wonder if he does not have any friends or family and it makes me feel sad for him. but maybe i am very wrong and he is just a super happy guy who is OK with the fact that he frequently eats at golden corral alone. i wonder what this says about me....

Never having been to Golden Corral before, the long line to get in seemed to be a good sign. Our waiter, was very attentive with drinks, and the steak guy paid special attention to us. The steak was very good for a buffet, and they had it available every way that one might want it served. That was the end of the positives. The customers were loud and less than appealing eating neighbors. The food, other than the steak was bad: overcooked and over-seasoned, and yet still tasteless. If you come here, stick with the steak, and you'll be okay. Skip this restaurant otherwise. Be prepared for noise and other arrangements that are not conducive to talking or thinking.

This was one of the worst meals my family has had in a long time. When you pay around $13.50 for a buffet you would expect that at least some things are decent - not here! Went during Wingfest and these were the worst wings I have ever had. The wings at the Wal-Mart deli have these beat by a long shot! How in the world can you mess up wings???? The rest of the food I tried had absolutely no taste. My son refused any more food after eating 1/2 of one plate. I too, ended up eating fruit from the salad bar as I could tell the rest of it was gastric upset just waiting to happen. Spending a little over $70 for 5 people was a total rip-off. The only ones I could tell were happy were people who looked like they thought Golden Corral was a fine dining establishment or severely overweight people who had 2-3 plates in their hands each trip through the buffet. It was a "corral" all right! Keep moving the cattle through! Save your money and eat elsewhere. We will not be back!

After going in to try and eat here, my husband and I saw such filth and unkept restaurant , not to mention food that was not appealing; we left. I grew up in this area and used to eat here often; so seeing it this terrible saddens me. I do not know how this place can pass inspection honestly . Golden Corral used to mean fresh food, especially fresh veggies and CLEAN stations- I saw none of these. I also will add that they have removed all trays so you have nothing to carry your food on or drinks; instead you must take your plate with you, and go back for another for each type station. Very difficult. A woman in front of me had to go thru 5 plates to find one she would use FYI . Sadly she put all the ones she discarded back on the pile. We went elsewhere but our stomachs felt sick for hours after what we saw here.....truly truly dangerous and disgusting . I am not trying to bash this place, but they need to hear the truth, or that's my hope.

Went during Wingfest and these were the worst wings I have ever had. The wings at the Wal-Mart deli have these beat by a long shot! How in the world can you mess up wings???? The rest of the food I tried had absolutely no taste. My son refused any more food after eating 1/2 of one plate. I too, ended up eating fruit from the salad bar as I could tell the rest of it was gastric upset just waiting to happen. Spending a little over $70 for 5 people was a total rip-off. The only ones I could tell were happy were people who looked like they thought Golden Corral was a fine dining establishment or severely overweight people who had 2-3 plates in their hands each trip through the buffet. It was a "corral" all right! Keep moving the cattle through! Save your money and eat elsewhere. We will not be back!

After going in to try and eat here, my husband and I saw such filth and unkept restaurant , not to mention food that was not appealing; we left. I grew up in this area and used to eat here often; so seeing it this terrible saddens me. I do not know how this place can pass inspection honestly . Golden Corral used to mean fresh food, especially fresh veggies and CLEAN stations- I saw none of these. I also will add that they have removed all trays so you have nothing to carry your food on or drinks; instead you must take your plate with you, and go back for another for each type station. Very difficult. A woman in front of me had to go thru 5 plates to find one she would use FYI . Sadly she put all the ones she discarded back on the pile. We went elsewhere but our stomachs felt sick for hours after what we saw here.....truly truly dangerous and disgusting . I am not trying to bash this place, but they need to hear the truth, or that's my hope.
