Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I'm giving them a five star review bc once we started ordering the non gringo stuff, we see how good this place is. Don't stick w your ground beef taco salads, neighbors, be adventurous!! They definitely cater to the local crowd but there is really good food and drinks here. The staff is really nice and it's pretty fast, as Mexican should be. Only drawback: you'll smell like it til the next day. Mmm fajitas.

Growing in So Tex did NOT prepare me for Casa Mexicant. Look, I appreciate that they're trying but calling queso "cheese dip" and explaining how to pronounce free hole ay ah la char ra (not kidding) on the menu was kind of a true tell as to how many folks of hispanic descent actually had input. We had salsa, chips, cheese dip and fajitas. The food was decent -- if inauthentic -- and the server was exceedingly nice -- if overworked. I dont know why I'm writing this review at 2 am and I'm sure it's suffering for it. But if you're looking for authentic mexican food, not the place. You will find fast service, strong margs and a white queso that's quite delicious.

I don't typically eat Mexican food but went here on Mothers day. Wow! The chips, salsa, cheese dip and food was GREAT! I ordered a Fajita Salad, thinking when I didn't like it I wouldn't be out much money. Well, I ate all of it. The server was great (my Coke never went empty) and the cleanliness, food quality and presentation was 1st rate. I will definitely go back. I wish I'd gotten chips and salsa to go.

Ooooo what a great place for margaritas ! Cheese dip and food! I'd explain what I have eaten but I don't know the names because I don't speak Spanish ! Hands down this is my favorite Mexican place to eat. The servers are so sweet & the cheese dip is sooo good I just want to eat it with a spoon! I'd never go anywhere else because I know this is the palace to be !

Had flown all morning, gotten my hotel room and was famished. The front desk person suggested Casa Mexicana across the street. I went and had a luncheon special which is served 11-3. A beef chimichanga with actual beef in it, rather on the small side, rice and refritos and a guacamole/sour cream salad on shredded lettuce and not-so-ripe tomato. I asked for their hottest sauce but it was, at best, just a notch above Taco Bell's Fiery hot. But the food tasted good and the service staff was quite attentive. Nice patio, full bar and the staff celebrates customers birthday with a song and sombrero! I'd go back....

Please note, the address may not be correct as this is a brand new location. We arrived around 5p on a tuesday night. This location opened up the previous day, so we were excited to try this new place out. I must say, the owners went all out with this place, as far as decor is concerned. We sat out on the large (and heated) patio while we waited for some friends to arrive. Our server was training a new employee so service was a tad slower than it normally would be, as many of the folks out there with us were served maybe 2m faster than we were -- an acceptable time frame in my book. I ordered the Grande Chicken Quesadilla, and she ordered a burrito. Both were cooked and presented like any other mexican restaurant in the area...with rice, beans, etc all over them. The difference here is that the chicken in both our dishes was cooked with tequila and lime -- something the other places in the area have problem with (complex tastes in their food). The cheese dip was a little bland, but not bad. Drinks are served in rather gargantuan tumblers, which for me is a godsend (and for our server who didnt get ran around). All in all, I will give this location a B. Wasn't the BEST mexican food I've had, but certainly wasn't bad either. For those of you with sensitive stomachs, you will be happy to note that this food did nothing to mine like the other restaurants in the area do...so eat good while you are here. If you are a fan of chillin on the patio, listening to techno music while sipping a Margarita, this place is definitely for you as well. Will I go again? Yes. The only downside is their prices. $40 for 2 entree's, a cheese dip, 3 drinks, and a few taco's for the lil man...pricey, but good.

I went with my son last week and it was okay. The service was great and the place is huge and very impressive. There is a large patio that looks like a lot of fun. We decided to sit inside. The cheese dip is the same old white cheese dip you get at every other Mexican restaurant in town. Nothing special. The salsa wasn't very spicy and was just so-so. The chips were crisp and hot. I had the chicken chimichanga and it wasn't crisp. It was soft. It might as well have been a chicken burrito. I like crispy fried foods. The chicken was plentiful, tender and had a lot of flavor. It came with the standard beans and rice, which both were rather bland. My son ordered a bean burrito with just refried beans. He was very happy with his dish and ate everything. He definitely wants to go back and we probably will. I'll try ordering something different though. He was impressed mainly that they got his burrito correct. Usually when he orders a bean burrito, he gets a beef burrito.
