Preface: traveling pilot that frequents many cities, restaurants, and pubs. Big Whiskeys was my first venture into the river market area. I ordered the Big Whiskey burger add grilled onions. The burger came out well seasoned and cooked right. I ended up putting the side of onion rings in the burger.... So good! Chris the bartender was a solid guy that answered all my yelp type questions and served me beers before the last was empty. There's no reason for 2.5 stars.... Treat yo self to BWs!

I don't often give bad reviews but this place was no fun. Three friends and I found ourselves here after the place we were going was closed. I have no idea if the food and drink is good here because the waiter was so demeaning our group left. Typically I try to give second chances but I just don't know if I can at this place.

They stopped selling the gigantic cheese sticks over a year ago. :(

Came in for a quick meal and a drink. Nice place but the service is lacking a bit. Food was standard. I ordered a ribeye that was cooked well but was a bit under seasoned.

"A-OK" perfectly describes our experience at Big Whiskey's. We were bar-hopping down in the river market and had just left the Flying Saucer which had really good German food and a selection of over 200 beers. I had high expectations and what we received was pretty unspectacular. Although I really enjoyed the decor of Big Whiskey's, we were bummed that the craft beer selection was so little. They had a few of the usual, bottom of the barrel beers on tap for cheaper than the Flying Saucer but my husband, the "beer connoisseur" was bummed. I ordered a frozen strawberry-peach margarita and was bummed because it was flavorless and had huge chunks of uncrushed ice that made it hard to stir, but also made it hard for me to drink. We decided to skip ordering food here as we were wanting to leave and go somewhere with a better beer selection but while we were finishing our drinks, we decided to try the "Fried Pickles and Jalapenos". Awful. There were about 4 fried pickles and the rest were jalapenos and the ranch dressing was too sweet. If you get this appetizer, ask for the "Southwestern" ranch dressing. It's much better! Overall, it was clean and our waitress was fairly nice and quick, but the beer selection sucked, the place was dead on a Saturday afternoon and the Fried Pickle appetizer was less than appetizing. (See what I did there?). I think I'll stick to the Flying Saucer or even Sticky's over this place.

Came in during River Fest to dodge the rain. The GodFather was a solid drink and go with the non white queso if you are given the option. Cool spot. Be prepared to seat yourself tho

For a whiskey place, they didn't know how to make an old fashioned. It was terrible. Ordered a quesadilla appetizer the cheese wasn't even melted, it was cold. Very disappointed.

Food is subpar. Salmon was frozen, wings were average, Sunday service and kitchen speed was subpar.

Waiter was very rude and service was slow - Place was not busy at all at 11:00. The waiter pretty much only made smart remarks when he decided to slow down by our table on the way out to smoke. A sign out front had advertised a lunch special. When we asked to see the lunch menu, he said "you're holdin it" and kept going. It was of course the regular menu. The only special is the regular price for half a sandwich and a cup of soup. When it was all said and done, I was charged for someone else's meal that was double the price of the "lunch special". The problem was that my bill that went with my credit card and the waiter had the CORRECT price on it. He charged my card the double price and then argued that I had even purchased the cheaper lunch special. Maybe he was trying to scam some of the cash my friends paid with; I don't know. He agreed to fix it, but instead waited on a new table of six and his other tables first. To top it off, he went outside and smoked again while I just stood their waiting. I asked for a copy of the receipt that showed that my card had been credited, but he said "don't worry, it was" and walked to the kitchen! I had high hopes for this place to watch sports, etc., but AVOID Big Whiskey and let it go down in flames like the places here before. Maybe a nice establishment will finally make it here with good employees and better management.

Won't be going back First of all they wait until the bring me my order to tell me hey we are out of BACON!!! The thing is that it's loaded fries not cheese and chive fries and I order a burger because it has bacon on it now had they started off with hey no bacon okay fine or even if u come back before the order comes out so I can cancel it..... I had a single glass of water and a single beer waitress can't be found for 20 to 30inutes at a time and when they bring mine and my wife's order they say oh yea we are out of toast.... not to be nagging or needy but a little heads up would be nice even a refill or maybe a coke or whiskey but hey couldn't because my waitress is no where to be found..... very disappointed on a Saturday when I walk in at 9 and there is no customer service......

Very pleasantly surprised after leaving the capital grill because I was ignored for 15 mins. Service was prompt and friendly. Price points reasonable and the buffalo ranch chicken sandwich was well-thought out and executed. Extra crispy bacon, shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes really make a difference. Great local IPA for about four bucks. And they had U.S. Soccer on. Score.

The one star is even too generous! We were there on a Saturday afternoon with a place pretty much empty. The service was simply atrocious. The staff was clueless, incompetent, and down right rude. The manager was nowhere to be found. How is it that a server can bring food to your table, and have the customer need to remind them that it would be helpful to have plates and silverware? I do not remember the last time it took half an hour to prepare a cobb salad with frozen chicken and stone hard bacon that tasted like water. For that fact, to prepare a turkey wrap with what I assume was turkey breast but i can't be sure, it tasted like days old defrosted meat. On the top of the bad experience, few hours later we just both got sick to our stomach. On the final note, if you are expecting the staff to provide you with information on the menu and drinks, you are better off guessing yourself rather then asking them for any advice. Such a shame for such a nice looking venue...

I was there on a Sunday evening. Very cold, but the bar was hopping. The wings were fantastic. Service was great (sometimes late in the weekend you can get average service - mine was terrific). They also had terrific beer deals.

Is this one of those new concept restaurant/bar where you write down your own order, go behind the bar and pour your own beer, and ring up your own ticket? How avant-garde! Or perhaps the better explanation is that Big Whiskey's has crappy service. We were there for a good 15 minutes before menus were brought to the table, but the menus were pointless since nobody ever came back to take our orders. Well, we left without ordering anything from here. At the rate they were moving, we'd probably only have a round of drinks every two hours, which is extremely unproductive for a Saturday night!

  • Barramundi S.

Had the salad and it was ok. Went for dinner and the salad I got was big but most of the leaves were all wrinkled up and almost at the point of rotting. Ambiance is cool - it's a sports bar so lots of TVs on real loud so basically no conversations. Don't bother if you're hungry - go some place else.

  • Jen P.

Beer was good - but you can't really go wrong with that. Ordered ribs, a hamburger and wings. The garlic parmesan wings weren't nearly garlicky enough, and the ribs were super sweet and left me craving Whole Hog's tender pork. Oh well.

It was a Tuesday night and I stopped in cause I can't pass up a restaurant with "whisky" in its name. It was relatively slow inside and I sat at the bar. I ordered a side salad and the pork chop entree. Salad was made using mixed greens which is a nice variance from the usual romaine or iceberg, although they loaded it with cheddar cheese. Maybe I'm out of place here or they think they're on to something, but cheddar cheese on a salad isn't necessary (especially when you use mixed greens, try other fresh ingredients like cucumber or red onions). The pork chop entree looked great, plating was in normal American cuisine fashion (nothing special). The vegetable of the day, broccoli, was overcooked and mush. The fantastically marked bone in pork chop was drenched in a great bbq sauce, but was a little dry for my liking. The mashed potatoes were great, homemade chive style, but again was loaded with cheddar cheese which is a good combo. The meal came with garlic bread that was partially stale, and rather soggy. The meal was good, not great though. Good bbq sauce, mashed potatoes, and the use of spinach/arugula. Bad meat cooking and the overabundance of cheddar cheese. I left satisfied but if it were my joint id refine it a little bit.

Compared to the 'higher end' restaurants that have inhabited this spot I guess BW is a success. They don't charge you $12 a glass for Johnnie Walker Black but they're nothing special. Big Whiskey's is in fact a smaller chain of restaurants but a chain nonetheless. I agree with some of the other reviews, there's nothing special about this place. If you like Applebees or Chili's then you'll like this place. As far as anything original or surprising? Nada. A nice selection of Bourbon's though. I've been there to drink a few times but never eaten b/c I'm a vegetarian and my options today weren't great. They were out of mushrooms for the portabella wrap so i had a strawberry salad and fries. salad was meh, had blue cheese crumbles which i'm not a fan of. dressing wasn't that great. the leafy greens looked healthy but tasted very dry. french fries were pretty damn delicious but the flying saucer still has some of the best fries downtown. other people at my table enjoyed their food (fish and chips and burgers) but i just simply wasn't impressed.

This place wasn't as bad for me as some reviewers on Yelp wrote that it was for them. Just strolling along Markham on a Thursday night looking for a decent place to grab a bite and watch some sports. This place fit the bill. The atmosphere was calm, not over noisy but not a cemetery, either. Just right. Bar area is nice and the restaurant has plenty of seating. Good views of the TV's and sports at most seating locations. My waitress was very nice and polite. Ordered the salmon with veggies and sweet tea. Salmon was good, but not great. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. If you are going to just watch sports and drink a brew or two, a good place to kick back. But next time I will look for a better meal at one of the other local restaurants.

Nice enviornment but the worst service I've seen in a while. So bad that I can't remember the food quality. Good luck to Big Whiskey.

I enjoy Big Whiskeys. It's always a good place for a burger/wings and drinks. I have visited about 4-5 times in the last 2-3 years when in town. Sitting at the bar seems to yield quicker service. A good selection of food and drinks. Several different types of shots are available as well. Bartender "Sarah" is very kind, attentive, and conversational with a big smile!

Great buffalo chicken dip. The service was friendly and helpful with questions we had about the area.

Service was good. However in this day your burgers should be fresh and hand made, not pre frozen burgers that looked totally pre formed with little taste. I like the variation of burgers they have but totally ruined it with frozen meat

Inedible turkey sandwich. Soggy bread, microwave-heated meat. Just no. Come for the drinks, leave to get food.

Went on Thursday evening with some friends and had no issues. Sat at the bar and they had a good selection of drinks and beers. There were many tantalizing options on the menu and so I decided to go with Bacon Chicken Ranch Alfredo. It was excellent they really did a good job on the sauce!! Thumbs up!!

Compared to the flying saucer I would go here for the food and service anytime. I would recommend the buffalo chicken sandwich. The bartenders are always friendly. They often have beer specials for football.

Awesome little place. Hit it up after the Garth Brooks concert on 12/13/14. Only problem was they closed at 1, when everywhere was open until 2. Other than that, fast service, great beer, and amazing wait staff.

Little Rock!! What is wrong with you?? This place was delicious! We almost didn't go here because of the Yelp reviews, but, it turns out, Little Rock isn't very open on a Sunday and it was the first place we got to that was open and we were starving, so it was our only option. We shared the onion rings, I had the buffalo chicken pasta, hubby had the bacon ranch pasta and we both LOVED it. Service was friendly and quick, food was hot and tasty and we'd happily go back here if we were in town!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. THERE IS NO SERVICE. My friend, her 1 year old, and I ate there on a slow Sunday afternoon while passing through on our way home. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at any food establishment. We ordered boneless chicken, chicken strips, and French fries. The only thing we had quick service with was our water, and that is ONLY because we ordered it as soon as we were greeted. We then had to wait around 15 minutes before we were checked on about ordering food. You might not think this is a big deal, but the entire restaurant was empty. The waiter we had checked on us TWICE in about a 30 minute time frame. We then had a different waiter come to us to tell us (15 minutes later) that our original waiter clocked out and that she was now our waitress. The our original waiter walked by a few more times and didn't have the courtesy to tell us himself he was getting off and someone else would be taking care of us. She checked on us 30 minutes later, she told us she was going to check on our food. We waited for her to come back and let us know the status of our order, and she disappeared. A different waiter asked us if there was anything we needed, and we asked him as well and told him we had been waiting over an hour for our CHICKEN STRIPS AND FRIES, and he told us there was only one person in the kitchen. (Even if that is so... They should be able to multitask and there were only 4 other tables who had been there before we arrived). 20 minutes later she comes out with only ONE part of our order.... They didn't even bring our food out together. She apologized and told us the kitchen lost all of her tickets, but our original waiter was the one who put the order in, not her. Which was a lie. And you should at least keep checking on your tables and you would KNOW they lost your tickets rather than wait for your customers to get to the point where they're about to cancel their order and find somewhere else to eat....

Couldn't even get waited on last night. Not busy at all. Waiter was too busy flirting with a girl. Was it because I had a Texas Longhorn shirt on? Hmmm .........

Only reason this is getting 3 is because there are several bourbons I like and they were playing hockey. If you are centered around whiskey make sure your waitress knows your drink menu. Had to explain the straight bourbons I was ordering. Really slow service and it wasn't that busy.

Great "bar food"! The French fries were excellent as well as the wrap! I suggest this place if you are looking to eat while watching a sports game!

I have to preface this review with there was not one, but two bachelorette parties the night we were there and one had a girl that must've been competing for the most shrill laugher ever, but otherwise, it was a pretty tame and mixed light crowd for a Saturday night. (Dates, small groups, twenties-fifties etc) I ordered the famous chicken sandwich after I scoffed "it's just a grilled chicken sandwich, what could make it famous? it better be good." Well, my hoity toity butt was put in its place because it might have been the best grilled chicken sandwich ever! I won't go into details, but the shredded lettuce/tomatoes thing happening was awesome. The fiancé got the French dip, which he has ordered at least once before, he thought, maybe twice. He said the au jus was some of the best ever too. And get the fries, totally worth it. Our waitress was very southern, cute and attentive. I have only been there one other time during a Arkansas football game and it was too crowded so I left. The future hubs has been a bunch and him and his buds love the food. Don't be afraid of the Cabernet either, it was fine for a sports bar. Lots of TVs, lots of tables, great patio with an unfortunate amount of smokers.

The location is great, right at one bookend of river market. I've eaten there several times now as the kitchen stays open far later than most establishments downtown. The good is decent bar food. I think I've had 7-8 things on the menu without encountering anything I didn't like. But the food is not particularly memorable. It definitely does the job. The atmosphere is sports bar and it was a great place to grab a beer after written and watch world cup highlights. I'd give it 4 stars if it weren't for the price of the whiskey. I know the place is "big whiskeys", but it's hard to get that into the whiskey theme when it's $7.50 for a VERY gently poured Jameson. Good experiences there on the whole though!

    (3)
  • Chris O.

They won't honor the happy hour prices we get from their google places. She said it's been like that since they opened and don't know how to fix if. The menu says Big Whiskey.

My wife and I had lunch here while visiting Little Rock. It's a typical bar but the faculty his quite big and it has plenty of televisions. The food was fair, but the customer service was excellent.

My Sunday Funday and Tuesday booze day visit was absolutely splendid. So splendid in fact I am writing one of my first reviews ever because of how much I enjoy this bar and the servers. I'm a little dumbfounded by the ignorant people that feel the need to write such awful reviews when so far the two bartenders I had the pleasure in serving me, Chris and Amanda, have been pretty fantastical, and made my Sunday Funday and Tuesday Boozeday - wonderful days indeed. Don't believe the ignoramus deuche-canoe comments, this is the place to be!

Location is decent and so is the food. Biggest draw back? You might die of old age and/or starvation before getting your food. I did both. Now I'm a ghost giving this place a thumbs down.

I was in a big hurry trying to catch my flight after running the marathon on Sunday. This place was the nearest restaurant to my hotel. Ordered a pulled pork sandwich to go thinking it would be pretty much scoop the meat into a toasted bun (e.g., fast). My order took 35 minutes to arrive at my table and it was horrible. hard for food to be horrible after a guy just ran 26 miles... avoid avoid avoid avoid

Ok, I've seen the reviews and went there anyway. It is probably a solid 3.5. The appetizers are big enough, tasty enough, and cheap enough. My beer off tap was a little flat, but that happens. Unlike some of the other restaurants on this street, W's did allow kids in. So my wife and 6, 8, 11, and 13 year old stopped there Monday night. Our water was friendly, took care of us, didn't act annoyed that we had kids (very typical in Little Rock, it is not really a family kind of town I've found out), and got the food coming quick. The chicken wings are as good as you need them to be. Cooked right, sauced right, and very tasty. The loaded fries were great. Onion rings so/so, I like the ones that are more breaded; but these seemed fresh. Sliders were good, and they were kind enough to make them with a variety of cheeses at our request. So for this reason, I say 4 stars (really it is a 3.5), but since a few of the other venues are anti-kid, I'll give them the bump. Nice selection of bums in this neighborhood, so come with lots of "change to spare".

Great bar, enviroment and beer selection. Place has a good 2 for 1 happy hour. Definatele a decent happy hour if your spending anytime in Little Rock.

Stopped by for a quick bite and a drink this afternoon. Found the place almost empty and pretty mellow. The bartender was friendly, took our food order quickly, and it arrived promptly. It was all pub grub, but it was all pretty tasty. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Little Rock.

Oh Big Whiskey...our encounter may never have been.... I am having a convention at a local hotel and have grown intolerant of subpar and exhorbitantly priced room service offerings. I did a time check....9:40....should be able to adjust my sour mood with beer and wings if I hustle. Ditzy hostess warns me no more food...too hungry to argue I wandered down the block only to be further angered: Bikini contests to my left, karaoke to my right, where can a girl just get a beer and a bite?! Feeling defeated and not in the mood for live entertainment in any form I wandered back, harrumphed my way to the bar and ordered a beer hoping the caloric intake would sooth my belly. The whole experience changed there-bartender was very attentive and personable, it turns out they were still serving food and he got it to me within 15 minutes of ordering. Despite what I will call bubble gum cheese (imagine that) in the quesadilla the flavor was fine, and the beer was cold---problem solved. It proves my traveling theory: trust no one but thee that serves my beer.

I grabbed lunch here while in town on business. It's your basic pub food kind of place. I had a burger and substituted a side salad for fries. Everything tasted great and the waitstaff was that perfect level of attentive without hovering. I've noticed that it's fills up quickly in the evening, as do all of the bars and restaurants in the River Market complex so a wait at dinnertime may be expected.

This review is as much for the restaurant as it is for the readers. As being a former restaurant owner with three locations, I can tell you this. What will kill your business is your staff. I went here again because I was so impressed with my first visit. The food was excellent and the staff was something that I would have hired. That was then.. This was last week. It was a mid afternoon on Saturday and the place was semi packed. Once again, they still have tables blocking a clear entrance into the restaurant. Still not changed. It is very confusing and if those tables had people, then it would be hard to get into the place. I made my way in and sat at the booth next to the exit to the outdoor area. There were young guys sitting on the patio screaming and yelling, much like a pick up bar rather than a place to have a meal and drink. My order was taken as soon as I sat down but that was it. it took 45 minutes to get a refill and for her to come back. When she did she asked if everything was okay. Servers need to know that a generic question can come back to bite you in the ass. Well, it did... I kindly said, "after 45 minutes we are ready to order." Her quick reply was, "I am sorry, I am buying your drinks this evening." I looked around and did a count.. 7 people on staff and two were standing at the bar talking and laughing all while people are waiting to order. There was a girl named Holly and she was working her ass off. It looked as if she was doing most of the work. My server didn't introduce herself at all. I got Holly's name because she was the server to the table next to me. The table she was serving came in after me and was served food and drink before I even got my second drink. When you have to comp drinks that is money lost. With 7 or staff there should never be a lack of service in a place this size. I really like this place and I hope that the management reads this review and takes the action needed.. This place as so much potential. I would like to suggest that workers who are just off, not hang out around the bar. That only invites conversation with those that or still on the clock and those who suffer are the ones who pay the bills. If it was mine, that would not happen.

While the food is good, especially the wings, the service was tremendously bad. The table next to us had 2 groups of people come in and leave because they never got served. Between drinks appetizers and a meal it was a 2 hour ordeal. Your best bet is to sit at the bar or you may never get served.

Ummmm...Big Whiskey's?! You better sober up and run your frkkn bar! Slow service, incompetent service, staff totally clueless and without knowledge of how any of your dishes taste, you have a problem separating a bar tab from a food tab? I drop in and sit at a table FOREVER while staff walks past...so I go to the bar to get my own pint of beer and then you try to tell me my server will get it for me? NO! I want it now! Your habernero/mango wings sounded interesting enough but ya overcooked the damn wings and they took FOREVER! This was an appetizer! Ordered fish and chips because that is hard to screw up I figure...WRONG AGAIN! Frozen fish? C'mon! Ummmm..do you have malt vinegar? You don't know? You can't serve a beer, you don't know about the food you serve, it takes too long, you forget silverware, you can't separate a bar tab from a food tab! And this is when the place ain't packed? Holy shit people! Is this what a bar in Hell will be like? I would give you a pass if the place was crowded but this was at 1:30pm in the damn afternoon! I am a "glass is half full" kind of guy so I am trying to end on a positive note so let me give this a try here.. ummm.. how about this? Congrats! You a bar and you actually HAVE glasses for drinks! Way to go! How about this? Start using the damn things! And NO, I don't want dessert because I have already been here for what feels like an eternity! Ya see? Another lost opportunity for a sale. Usually I have a drink for dessert so again...lost sale opportunity! What happened to the days when bars and restaurants actually let their servers taste the signature dishes as part of the training? Try to spin this review into something positive and have a little staff meeting. Start with appetizer tasting and go from there. One more positive note! Your bartender does have it together as far as I can tell and she knows how to pour a beer at least! But sadly, this is all I've got for ya! Good luck with it! See ya later...then again..probably NOT! I am sure y'all are as sick of hearing about this as I am of writing it. Another waste of time in a yapping, screaming world where everybody is talking and nobody is listening.

I stopped by Big Whiskey while on business in Little Rock. I was there at lunch time and it was pretty empty, so I am not sure if it's a hot spot for the evening crowd. The restaurant has a few high tables and seems to be pretty small. The beer selection isn't great, but what they have isn't bad. I ordered southwest egg rolls which were nothing special. For the meal I had a jalepino burger since nothing else on the menu struck me. The burger wasn't bad, but again it was nothing special. Overall the place was forgettable. I wouldn't avoid it, but I wouldn't pass up some of the other offerings in Little Rock for it. The Flying Saucer down the street was a significantly better choice in the same category.

Stopped by even after the negative reviews on here. I don't regret it the food was good! The service was also good! Don't know why everyone else has issues but I recommend everyone to give it a try.

I should have read the reviews before I ate here. Very disappointing salad, not well composed. If you screw up a simple salad (strawberries - VERY SKIMPY, blue cheese crumbles - also skimpy, almond slivers on romaine w grilled chicken add on) I don't think they'd be able to do much better with something that actually required a bit of effort to prepare.

On one of the rainy nights of the trip, my friends and I stopped into Big Whiskey's, because it was one of the few restaurants crowded, and close to the hotel. The menu was like any steakhouse or American style chain restaurant (i.e. chili's/applebees) back home, so I was sure everyone in my group would find something. Unfortunately, the waitress informed us that they did not have anymore of half the appetizers, which basically just left different varities of wings, and that, they were short two waitresses "because of the rain." I looked at her and laughed, thinking she was kidding, but as it would turn out, she was not. The group I was with could not make up their mind to order, and so we just put an order in for drinks, mainly waters, a beer and I asked for a Jameson on the rocks. It took about 20 minutes, just for the drinks to come. Thankfully, by that time, everyone was ready to order. We ordered simple things, burgers, salads, and not even an app. As one hour and a few Jameson's went by, we got restless. Not even the twenty or so flat screen televisions, or the great classic rock music playing could distract us from how long we were waiting for food. I finally caught the waitress and asked how long it would be until the food was ready. She said "just a few mo' minutes." A few minutes in NY might mean 5-7 minutes, but apparently, at Big Whiskey's it meant 22 minutes. Finally, an hour and a half into dinner, we got our meals. Fortunately, the burgers were great, steaming hot fries, and two different BBQ sauces, sweet and spicy. Unfortunately, I cannot give Big Whiskey's anything higher than a 2 star review after the horrible service. Decent prices on food and drinks as well.

The food was pretty good, nothing that I would go out of my way for. The service was great though.

The food here is comparable to Applebee's or Chili's. I ordered a sandwich containing grilled chicken and bacon. The chicken wasn't seasoned, and the bacon wasn't very tasty, either. We tried the signature dip with buffalo chicken. It was served with generic tortilla chips that tasted like they were from a bag. The fries were frozen. Overal: meh. We did get good service, though.

This is a local sports bar/restaurant. Its a place to go for a beer and burger and does nicely with that. We were a large group and they gave us the back private room. The food was ok, but nothing special. Some members of the group were happy...others just ok. I ordered the fried chicken breast sandwich. It came our VERY late, but was excellent.

Despite the negative reviews on Yelp, Big Whiskey's has always been okay in my book. The food always tastes fine, service is decent, and atmosphere is good. Would I say that it is the best I have ever had? No. However, I would say that it has never been a disappoint, either. I recently had a birthday gathering with a party of twelve. I called a few days a head of time to see if they took reservations, and they were happy to accommodate. My plan was to go to a somewhat informal restaurant, yet with plenty of seating, decent food, and a full bar. Big Whiskey's met all of my needs. All of my guests seemed to enjoy their food, as well. We tried multiple salads and entrees. We also tried the chili-cheese queso appetizer, which was delicious! I was even brought a birthday brownie dessert, free on the house. My one negative was that the music was so loud, that despite yelling to each other, we had a hard time carrying on a conversation.

Atmosphere is just as you would expect from a bar/restaurant... After reading the previous reviews, I feel we were a bit lucky... Service was great: attentive, timely, helpful and--even on a busy, busy Friday evening--we never felt rushed. Were it not for the ridiculously bad food, I would be rating 4-stars. The food: veggies past their date, burned--literally crunchy around the edges--burgers, improperly cooked/prepared steaks... Seriously, there was not a thing going right for the food at Big Whiskeys. I would not recommend.

Beers & drinks were all great with prompt service at the bar. Queso dip, fries & burger sliders are all excellent choices for food. Will definitely be back to check this place out again !

4 starving women and we wanted to find a place to grub. It was about 1030p and decided to check this place out. I went to check on the hours and the sign indicated that they were open until 12a on Thurs. We parked and paid $5. As we were walking in there was a group of guys in the patio drinking/smoking. They said "sorry, we're closed". Apparently, since they didn't have any customers they decided to close early. If you were closed make it seem as you're closed by locking the doors, turning off the TVs/lights and placing a sign. Don't have your employees waste valuable resources on business time...

Probably one of the worst bar experiences I have ever had. There was a Douchecanoe behind the bar I believe his name was Chris. I ask him for one of the local whiskeys neat. So of course he grabs a small glass throws ice in it and pours the whiskey. Now where I come from when a drink is ordered "neat" that means no ice. This child couldn't grasp the concept so I explained to him that it meant no ice. So he takes the drink back and pours it all out into a shaker glass and strains it back into a shot glass and hands it to me. I don't deal well with ignorant fucks so I took the drink and consumed it. The next drink I ordered was a Maker's 46 double, he failed miserably at that as well. Again I let it slide and enjoyed the whiskey. This man child was in the behind the bar cursing me and throwing dishes around like a 3 year old throws a tantrum when he can't get a toy at Walmart. I will not be back to this establishment when he is working, that is a fact. This has the potential to be a great place but when the management hires ignorant fucks such as Chris to be a bartender and he doesn't understand the concept of "neat" and throws a fit when corrected they shouldn't be in business.

We rolled in after the Little Rock marathon. Seeing the poo poo reviews, we knew not to expect greatness. Once you accept this place doesn't want you to fall in love with it, you'll be fine. Generic bar menu, okay selection of beer, indifferent wait staff. The nachos were fine, the chicken sandwich was a litle tough (certainly edible after 26.2) , but the beers were cheap and cold.

Horrible, horrible service. We waited more than 15 minutes before the waiter acknowledged our existence. It wasn't that busy for a Saturday night, but I felt it was under-staffed. There was no drink menu because they were redoing their drink list, so we were given the food menu. We waited another 15 minutes, and the waiter never came back to our table to get our order. Needless to say, we left and went across the river to Cregeen's. If only I checked the reviews here first before going, I would've saved myself some time and frustration. I'm glad I didn't order food based on the reviews on here.

Ok so where to begin.. I went here by reccomendation of the Hotel staff, and so far they where on the money so why doubt them right!? WRONG! I should of trusted the Yelpers on this one.... Start with the Beer.... I am a beer drinker, I love it, anytime any place i am game..not to get drunk but for the honnest love of beer (taste, aroma etc..) So I order there seasonal Sam Adams Oktoberfest on draft, comes out and man thats flat...so I inform the waiter and simply ask for a different beer no worries ill take the Belgian Flat Tire.... Beer comes out, man thats piss warm wtf is going on here 2 beers 0 for mother flippin 2....So I say screw it give me a bottle because someone isnt doing something right.... On to the meal..... Oh did I have a craving for a big JUICY burger but with a little kick... So I ordered the All American Burger (traditional burger let.tom.oninon etc...) with Blackened seasoning and swiss cheese......mmmmmhmmmm my mouth is watering and to ENSURE my burger is JUICY I ordered it MEDIUM as most places tend to overdue it a LITTLE. Not Big Whiskeys oh no, you talk about a CHARBURGER not a CHEESEBURGER and you have exactly what I was chewing on...As I was chewing I think dust was shooting out of my mouth... IT WAS THE WORST BURGER EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I really do mean EVER!!!!!!!! Onto the always trustworthy always delicous BW's French Fries....Man did they look great, too bad they tasted like they just came out of the fridge.. I mean seriously arent fries to be served hot!? Ok well if this experience does not deter you I dont know what will..... Oh by the way the best part of the dinner was the service and that SUCKED TOO!!!!!!!! If I could give this shithole a negative rating I would, YOU BW are lucky YELP is nice or you'd be done pal....negativo, minus, in the neg........

2 1/2 stars. Boring dive/sports bar. Less than stellar beer selection. Less than average fried, bland, bar food. This place is even bad for Little Rock.

Used to eat here a lot as they had some good menu items....that is if they actually cook them. Im not sure if it is the wait staff writing down the orders wrong, or the cooks not doing their job but of the last three times I went, twice was the chicken not fully cooked, and once everyone was done eating before I got my lunch. I dont eat here anymore and probably will never again. Have to pay for parking as well with a 2 block walk which is not so bad.
