I'm going to give this place 5 stars because I think people are expecting to much from $5 lunch special plate. Just like another reviewer I am also from California but if you know anything about Chinese food from California it's not authentic. Good but not authentic. Any place that has real Chinese in the back cooking is going to cook you a decent plate. That being said I'm used to chow mien being a side not an entree for the special. Rice is your side option and I'm not the biggest fan of rice to begin with but it was good and they give you plenty. Other than that it was very good. I had broccoli beef. The broccoli was cooked to perfection nice and crispy. Another reviewer apparently likes soggy vegetables. If you only want to spend 5 bucks for lunch this is a good option. Also a co worker of mine that is Chinese and just got here from China said it was good.

Jonesboro used to have a really good chinese restaurant but its since closed and ever since I've been looking for a replacement but this isn't it.. I mean the food is ok but just isnt amazing. The sesame chicken is good but not much else. It all has good flavor but it isn't spectacular. The garlic broccoli tastes good but isn't cooked long enough to be soft like I'd want. Overall it's "okay."

For me to give a five star review, the place really has to be a FIVE STAR, and the converse is true with a one star--I mean it has to be truly hideous, so this place gets two stars--teetering on one star. I'm from California where we know our Chinese Food and believe me this place does not cook real Chinese fare. Where's the sizzle? Where's the spice? Where's the pop of flavor in your mouth? It sure isn't here. Everything tastes boiled and soggy. Crisp veggies? Nowhere to be found. Cold, overdone rice. Yep, the food is pretty darn tasteless. The place is clean. That's the best thing I can say about it. Sort of like when I was in college and my sorority sister wanted me to date this friend of hers. When I asked what he was like, she said, "He's clean." No personality, no looks, no je ne sais quoi--just blah. That describes the Dragon City Chinese Restaurant to a T.

Well I will give them this, there food is cheap and they do deliver. That's a nice feature in a town that doesn't really have any delivery restaurants. I have eaten here more times than I can count, and I regret it every time. I have friends that like to get delivery from here, so I end up ordering it too. The problem is everything here tastes the same. All of the dishes are mundane, very little flavor, and all taste like the have the exact same spice ingredients. The worst part of it thought, is the how greasy it all is. I have never, ever had Chinese food this greasy. The noodles are the worst for this and they are just slimy from the grease. If you have no other choice than to eat here then I would only recommend two things that they have, get either the fried dumplings or the hot and sour soup. Honestly though, this is about the worst Chinese I have ever had, but you know then again, its not like Jonesboro has a good Chinese restaurant.
