Every dish here knocked it out of the park and we can't wait to return for more. Convenient access right off Highway 63 at the Southwest Dr. exit in what looks like a converted fast food or bank building. The Pimento Cheese Sandwich, as others have mentioned, is an improvement on regular pimento cheese sandwiches in a way I didn't expect. The bacon and fried green tomato add a nice complementary crunch to the creaminess of the cheese--get it on lightly buttered sourdough bread and it's culinary perfection. Also tried the onion rings (excellent, right amount of crispiness and fresh, not "slimey" onions on the inside), the fruit salad (seemed fresh and not from a mix), and potato hash (also excellent, the spinach helps bring it together and even the smell is delicious). But the star had to be the pies they offered--big slices topped with a healthy dollop of meringue. Peanut butter chocolate was like eating the gooey center of a Reese's cup Service was a little awkward at first, but refills came swiftly and the food came out very fast even on a busy Sunday morning. Also a bargain--2 entrees, 2 drinks, and dessert came to under $30 before tip, which is really cheap considering the superior quality of the food. Definitely worth stopping by if you're going by Jonesboro in the future, but check to make sure they're open since their hours are a little limited.

The word "bistro" would imply in America a restaurant more upscale as compared to fast food or chain restaurants. I did not find this to be the case with Bistro on the Ridge. First, the establishment is located in a former Backyard Burger in a pad space of a strip mall. Sure, they painted the walls maroon (or some equally pretentious color) and furnished it with real wooden tables and chairs, but you still feel like you're sitting in a Steak 'n Shake on the side of Hwy. 63. Get a real location, already, with some atmosphere. Like maybe downtown where all the "real" (local, non-chain) restaurants are. Second, the food left too much to be desired. While my turkey/bacon/avocado wrap was probably handmade, the side of onion rings was clearly freezer stock dropped into the fryer. My coworker's sandwich also was probably handmade, but the slices of pumpernickel looked right out of cellophane, and her side of fried okra was the same breaded stuff you can get in the freezer section at Walmart. Although I didn't get an opportunity to try the "homemade" pie for dessert (see below), I would imagine, based on the rest of my experience, that underneath that 4-inch pile of merengue (to make it look appetizing) lies a Jello Pudding filling. Third, the service was barely service. We were there between 11am and noon on 9/23/15, and there was only one tattooed and pierced Bohemian-wannabe to man the entire, inexplicably-full place. Although the food arrived timely, she brought us our individual checks long before we were finished with lunch and before asking us if we would like anything else. When we expressed interest in coffee, she kindly offered to bring us a free cup to-go. Unfortunately, she brought us large styrofoam cups of black tea with packages of *powdered* creamer (no real cream as befitting a restaurant concerned with the quality of their food) because "the lady in the back accidentally put the wrong bag in the coffee maker." When we inquired if there would happen to be any real coffee already brewed (we were starting to run late and couldn't wait much longer), the server was very rude as if we had overstayed our welcome already. We never did get our coffee although I would have gladly payed double for it at that point. And finally, the price was too much considering the rest of the experience: $14.50 for a sandwich, side, and iced tea. If the owner of this establishment would like to see where they should set their goals with a name containing the word "bistro," I would advise spending a few days walking the streets of Paris so (s)he can see what a real bistro is. Although you would still put up with the height of rudeness as French wait staff are want to be, at least you would have the highest quality of food and atmosphere to provide a counterbalance at roughly the same price point. Unfortunately, with Bistro on the Ridge, you have very little style and almost no substance. If the food had been good, I would have overlooked a lot of the other problems, but unfortunately it was subpar, and the food is/should be the number one reason you got a restaurant. I would rather put up with the mile-long drive through at Chik-Fil-A than go back there again.

WINNER! Clean, eclectic atmosphere with small seating. I was seated immediately, and tended to right away. Excellent spin dip! Very creamy and well blended, as to avoid the huge spinach leaves that make a mess. Service was great! Had the grilled salmon with rice pilaf and green beans. Beans were superbly seasoned and worth coming back for. Dessert was definitely homemade. PB and chocolate pie with meringue to the ceiling! Very rich flavor, with a flaky crust. I'll be back.

Nice cafe. Good music--not too loud. We had appetizers: spinach artichoke dip, deep fried avocados with house dipping sauce! Both excellent. Salads were good. Home made meringue pies. Nice menu selection. Reasonably priced. Great service! Soups to go.

This is easily my favorite restaurant in Jonesboro now. I've tried it twice. First trip: the grilled pimento cheese sandwich, which comes topped with bacon & a fried green tomato! Very unique take on it, & the tomato somehow matched it perfectly. The bread was soft & the lettuce was fresh. Second trip: fried bologna sandwich & tomato bisque. Both were excellent; the fried bologna has its own special sauce that's just the right amount of tangy, & again the bread & veggies were super fresh. The tomato bisque is not like any I've had anywhere else; instead of going with the traditional Italian type seasonings, the main flavor I caught was black pepper. It was unique & refreshing. I bought a liter of it to bring home! Desserts are amazing, with fluffy Meringue Pies of Doom lined up in a case at the front. There's a pie, cookie, & cake of the day. I highly recommend the tiny little pound cakes; the whipped cream seems homemade & the cakes are dense & moist. I've had the lemon & the Mountain Dew (!) flavor & both were incredible.

We were passing through on our way to Little Rock and found this little place. From the outside, we weren't sure what to expect. Once inside, it gave a welcome atmosphere. The food was awesome! Everything seemed to be made fresh that day. The salmon was a little overlooked, but had I asked for it medium, it would have been great. The flavor was wonderful! We have gluten free family members, and we were able to find something for everyone. Even my son who has numerous food allergies (gluten, wheat, oats, corn, tomatoes, eggs, dairy) was able to find something to eat. The veggies were fresh and tasty! (Not mushy or salty). If I lived in town, I would definitely return here. Don't let the appearance of it being a fast food restaurant fool you.

Read others reviews so decided to give it a try. Worth the drive out of our way. Service was fast and friendly. Good quality food with healthy options which are hard to find when you're on the road. Two thumbs up to this place!

It's ok, not near as good as the reviews would indicate. I ordered the Roasted Chicken Panini with Potato Salad, part of the bread wasn't toasted and was soggy, the potato salad was made with red potatoes and was creamy. The service was okay, nothing special, my server chatted with all the people around me, except me.

Good quick food, Great pies, OK service. I've been here several times and never had a bad dish of food. However, it hasn't ever been anything to write Bobby Flay about either. It's independently owned and operated, so that is a plus. I go here primarily for that reason.

I had heard about this place but never went there. Was visiting my father and decided to visit this place for dinner. Had the privilege of meeting the person who wrote the menu. She made the suggestion of what to try, but everything looked really good. I closed my eyes and choose. It was grilled chicken pasta. I was pleasantly surprised. It was take out and it was among the best I've had. This place is a hidden treasure.

Service was great food was meh. Our server was excellent. She never failed to refill our drinks or to ask if we needed anything. The food was just okay. It was cooked correctly but over seasoned. The restaurant was clean. But I could do without the tvs. It seems like every restaurant has tvs. Who wants to watch the news while they are having dinner? I understand sports bars having tvs but why should a family restaurant have them?

The servers are very friendly and the service was quick. Great menu for lunch and they had me in and out in time for me to make me meeting. On top of all that, the food was great too. Nice job everyone!

This place is a definite bright spot in a town with few quality non chain restaurants. The grilled salmon was very good, my son loved his tempura shrimp, and we both liked the fried avocado appetizer. Service was also great and prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. Will for sure be back!

Bistro on the Ridge is a breath of fresh air for a building that used to be a dirty Back Yard Burgers. It's cleaner than it's ever been, service is fast and attentive and there's lots to try on the menu. Fish and chips were better than I've had at a certain lauded chain restaurant that begins with the word Bone and ends with the word Grill. The fish pieces were crispy and not in the least greasy, and the tartar sauce wasn't the run-of-the-mill stuff that comes out of a bottle. Try it!
