Love eating here. The food is great! The prices are the best in the area! The owners are pleasant. This is a great family owned Japanese steakhouse!

Ordered a Shrimp Binto Box to-go tonight. Service was fast and it wasnt expensive but most everything was bland or the flavor was off. The rice had no salt or seasoning, the sushi was tasteless, the sauce that came with the shrimp tasted like it was just malted vinegar, the ginger dressing had an odd texture and wasnt rich enough, and lastly, the miso soup had an odd sour tang to it(and this is the first time I have ever been to an Asian restaurant screwed up miso soup). Food wasn't terrible but nothing really tasted fresh. Everything was just bland, overall. Also, the location is terrible and 4 other restaurants have used the suite and closed their doors in the past 6 years.

Fav place to get sushi in little Arkansas it's quite, great food, and it's cheap. The people are sweet as well. Food comes in decent time. This place doesn't get extremely crowed which is odd due to the fact that it is sooo yummy. 30% off sushi tues and sats and also they have military discount!

First impression when my wife and I walked in tempted us to turn around and walk right out. The restaurant has unfinished floor that is an eyesore and very low lighting throughout. We decided to give the place a try and were seated by a pleasant waitress. Our menus were tattered and held together with tape. My wife had to look at my menu to see a section that hers was missing. The food was inexpensive and bland. The sushi was garnished poorly with what looked like mayonnaise. The salad had a sour taste and the fried rice had a large chunk of onion skin in it. I was not impressed. Both my wife and I commented later that night hoping we didn't get food poisoning from our meal.

Good food. Not to badly priced. Never had bad service there. But it is a bit out of the way. But worth the trip

I am setting here now and orders hibachi chicken and they brought out teriyaki chicken when I told them I did not order teriyaki chicken the waitress argued with me that that is what hibachi is. Then when I got tired of her arguing and raising her voice I told her to just take it off the check to which she said food is made I had to pay for it even if I didn't eat it. She then brought out a plate of just grilled chicken with white rice the rice is dry and under cooked.

Very good service and fast, nice environment for a date night. I ordered California rolls and Spicy Salmon rolls, it cost less then $10 and it was the freshest sushi I've found in Central Arkansas. I will defiantly go back again. Stay Skittle, I'm Out! Neon

Great wait staff. Atmosphere is dim and quiet. Food prions were good size and it was all freshly prepared.

Despite their inexpensive menu, Yamato does not serve "real" japanese food. Wanted sashimi but wasn't on the menu, but server said they have it so I ordered yellow tail or maguro which turns out they do not have... so I ordered a spicy tuna roll and salmon sashimi instead. Both does not taste fresh.. Their soba is good tho.

This place is SUPER cheap. My husband and I have lived in Japan and this place is NOTHING like the Japanese cuisine in Japan. probably because it's CHINESE people making it! We both ordered bento boxes. He ordered the chicken teriyaki bento-- it was literally stir fried veggies and chicken drenched in soy sauce. I ordered the shrimp tempura bento-- it was like store bought pre-battered shrimp that they just refried. They both came with California rolls, a fried spring roll, miso soup, and salad-- The California rolls were mediocre, the spring roll just tasted like oily fried mush, the miso soup was way watered down, and the salad came with a choice of dressing: ginger, yum yum, or ranch. We got the ginger and it tasted like watered down thousand island dressing that they added ginger powder to. The "yum yum" sauce is NOT "yum yum" at all! It tasted like honey mustard and mayo and oil. Yuck. Should've just got ranch dressing. We also got the rainbow roll-- literally the California roll topped with salmon, yellowtail, and avocado. Our whole order literally came within 5 minutes of us placing our order! I mean talk about fast service but it's probably because everything is pretty much pre-made and NOT freshly made. The only reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because our server was extremely nice and attentive. He even shared the confusion of Chinese people making japanese food. Overall, I would not recommend this place or come back. Thankfully we are only here for a week.

I hate to do this to a local place in a town that doesn't have all that many places to eat, but.... We ate here Thurs and got food poisoning. I have been sick for four days with it. I will never eat here again.
