It's one of Jacksonville ' s oldest restaurants, but it's always good. I've been coming here for team parties, family dinners and more for over 30 years. I will continue together with my family.

Western Sizzlin Jacksonville provides a good value for the money. The servers here are very friendly and the atmosphere is extremely casual, so everyone fits right in!

We had the hot food buffet. It was the same as all of them. Middle of the road. No harm no foul. Not the cleanest or newest place but still The service was great. I added a 6 oz. sirloin for $2 to my buffet and it was outstanding. The dessert bar was awful though. Overall I wasn't impressed.

Bleah. You know I get a little depressed when I eat at a Western Sizzlin'. Maybe I'm just not a fan of restaurants that end with an apostrophe! I also tend to be a "good American" and overeat when offered a bar of fried food. This visit I decided to show some restraint and order a fixed menu item, they bring it to your table and there are no repeat visits to the feed buckets. The problem; there is a lack of direction when this route is chosen. You place your order, pay for the meal then, find a seat? Give somebody your ticket? Wander around? No one tells you what to expect. They do eventually come by to figure out what you ordered but do not explain anything further. Eventually my meal arrived. It was average line cook food (think Waffle House). The benefit of a place like this is separate checks, so with a large group check splitting etc is a non-issue. Overall I was happy with my meal, but not my first choice.

I eat here periodically when I'm in town for business. There are limited choices around our client's office and this is one of them. I'd say its comparable to a Golden Corral but not as nice (if that's even possible). The buffet has a variety of sides and a few meat choices (typically ham, fried catfish, baked/fried chicken, etc. There is also a small taco/fajita setup. There is also a salad bar, bread, and dessert station. Food is about average for buffet food. The buffet is under $10 or you can order a steak and the buffet is about $4 more. The service is spotty too. I've had co-workers order a steak and it never arrives. I've also seen entire tables have the wrong order, etc. If I were to rate this place on the buffet, service, and atmosphere alone it would be 2 stars. I will add a star because the steaks are actually decent for the price.
