Joses has consistently served good Mexican food every time I have come in the past four years. Chips and salsa are always good and the green sauce is always awesome! The drinks (margarita) have consistently been underwhelming in the way of alcohol and taste like lime juice. Get your ritas right and this could be a top choice in Hot springs.

Jose's was right outside our resort, so we easily walked up to the busy Mexican restaurant one evening. We were seated right away, despite being busy. They have plenty of seating and each chair/bench is painted in vibrant colors, and each chair is unique and painted with a different design on the back. We were brought complimentary chips and salsa, with a red tomato salsa for each of us, plus a green tomatillo one for the table. Both were a little spicy and very flavorful, which was fantastic. I opted for the chicken fajitas as my entree. What I received was this gigantic sizzling dish of chicken, peppers, and onions. I ate three tacos filled and brought the rest back to our resort. I cooked some eggs, and it made 2-3 more breakfasts as breakfast tacos. Everything was fantastic and the service was superquick and friendly.

My mother and I had come down for the week to enjoy our family's time share on Long Island. We ventured over to the area where Jose's is. Looking to try something new for a change. I think I would agree with another review from 2010....good food, poor service. There was plenty of seating and lots of food options. We started out with the Queso Blanco....it and the chips and salsa, all had a great taste. Our entree orders consisted of the same dish...guacamole tostada, chicken enchilada and tamale. The first 2 of our entree were delicious but the tamale was a bit lack luster. On to the service....well they were very nice but tended to disappear and not easy to find when you did need a refill, even water. Other waiters didn't seem to help if it wasn't their designated table either. We would come again back to try and give it another chance. The food was tasty!

Excellent queso blanco, and the staff was attentive. However, my meal was covered in cheese. I ordered tres enchiladas with chile sauce (no enchilada sauce?), and was disappointed to have it served under a layer of cheese -- and I didn't order the cheese sauce! This experience was a fair Tex Mex meal. I will most likely not return. I suggest La Hacienda.

Great service, good food, and awesome entertainment. Jacob Flores sang and played guitar last night at Jose's. He plays a few nights a week. If you are looking for some good food and live music Jose's is a great place to go.

The service was very good. The food arrived quickly, unfortunately we should have stopped at Taco Bell instead. Food lacked flavor and spice. The taco shells were stale. Whatever the green salsa is supposed to be it just tastes like cucumber whirled in a blender.

I wasn't to impressed after seeing all the reviews. I had the shrimp/beef Asda and the beef was dry...like I had been cooked for a awhile and reheated. When I asked for some guacamole and sour cream they charged me $3.75... There was no seasoning in the entire dish and was bland. The only reason I gave it two stars is the live music. Won't be going back.

You know, I read some of the reviews on Jose's and I can't understand why people would be critical of the food here. I mean it's not like it's the most authentic Mexican food north of the border or anything, but it's pretty good- prepared well, large portions, decent margaritas (large portions!), friendly service and a fun atmosphere. I was here on a thurs night and there was an awesome mariachi band playing. Great musicians with fine harmonies, crowd pleasers! I had the Talapia fish tacos. They were delicious. Ask for the hot salsa though or you end up with mild and milder. My server at the bar was friendly and attentive.

WHERE'S THE SIZZLE? I suppose the dinner crowd is muy importante versus the lunchers. I ordered a fajita trio and the only thing on the platter that was hot off the grill cooking temperature were the pinto beans which were slopped in a bowl and onto the plate just as they brought it to the table. Even w/o the charbroiled aroma and scorching sizzle that generally comes with a properly presented iron skillet of fajita meat & veggies that triggers your mouth into drool mode; shouldn't it still be warm enough for you to take caution with that first bite. Right?

I went here for lunch one weekday and I think I cab some up the experience pretty easily -- good food, poor service. The food options were quite vast, actually. All the Tex-Mex favorites. Good guacamole. Fantastic chips. No complaints, but nothing overwhelming either. In short, I got exactly what I expected. The service. Ugh. We passed on our first chance to order because we needed more than forty-five seconds to peruse the menu. Well, it felt like we lost our chance. We eventually wave our server down and ordered. Food came quickly, but drink refills (including water) flat out would not have happened if we hadn't managed to snag our server once again. All that said, I'd go back. One bad server can't ruin a whole restaurant when the food is rather good.

100% percent average. I'm kind of a Mexican food veteran and this place has some terribly bland dishes and some surprisingly slightly above average dishes. I wanted to give this place a 2 1/2 but I couldn't because the the servers where great and as mentioned before some of the dishes where better than expected(but not great). This places is perfectly average.

Ole! My hubby & I were in Hot Springs for the weekend and we needed a little bite for lunch so we stopped in at Joses. The decor is great, the chairs are all painted really bright colors with pictures on them and theres sombreros in all the windows. I had a mango margarita (YUM) and hubby had a beer. We split the chicken fajita quesadilla, and it was so good! Glad we split it though bc it was alot of food! We also had the chips & cheese dip which was very good. The only problem was our server wasn't around very much, we had to wait a long time to get our check when we were ready to leave. But other than that we had a great time, if we had a Jose's in Little Rock I would definitely go back!

I gave Jose's an average review because, well, the food is pretty average. Nothing really stood out to me. I would say it's authentic, but when you hire American waiters, I can't say that. It wasn't really bad but it wasn't really good.
