Kudos to them for great service. When a party of 11 descends upon a place with only three people behind the counter, juggling it all can be a large task. They handled it admirably. I got for myself a heart attack hot dog (hot dog wrapped in bacon and deep fried) and a milkshake. Everything was delicious. I would go back if it was nearer my home.

Love the family feel the the place! Got the applewood bacon cheese burger. Hand made patty and fresh bread with all the fixings. Love the signs in the walls. Proximity to the train station is awesome for the kids!
(4)Angela B.
Very tasty food. Great atmosphere. Clean dining area. Friendly staff. We tried the hot dog, roast beef sandwich and potato salad. All great! Easy access from the interstate.
(5)Joann M.
Hamburgers were excellent. Service very good. Would stop again if traveling through area.

Read the reviews on line and decided to take a chance (odds looked pretty good due to the good ratings). It's really only 5 minutes off the highway and MORE than worth the little drive (& easy to find). Food was very good, prices excellent, and the service was very good, too.

Very cute place! Love the service and sandwiches!

I travel for work often and my co-workers call me the master of Yelp... after years of practice I should be. But this little gem really lives up to the hype. To successfully pull you off the highway a few miles to eat.... driving through a place that looks forgotten. This place is great... they make the food to order and it's all done by hand. My friend had the burger and said it was seriously good... I went for the Reuben and was NOT disappointed. Both were sizable and the sides were also good... I followed the suggestion of another yelper and paid the buck to half friend green beans and onion straws... oh yeah. They have some outside seating and I was able to bring my dog to hang while we ate. After about 1700 miles in the car the poor baby needed it. The owner? asked the other ladies on the patio and they said they didn't mind. You would never find this place wandering off the road to look around... so thanks to Yelp we scored a seriously great meal. Decor is cool and we got to be Bonnie and Clyde while waiting lol. I also love the chalk board menu... it gives us reading glass people a break! One fun comment from my friend "the sweet tea must be REALLY sweet... because my mix is 3/4 non and I'm getting a toothache"
(5)Lisa S.
All you can say is yummmmmm!!!! The price is great. The decor is awesome. (Love the tailgates with cushions as bench seating.) the food is beyond wonderful. Real ingredients...not frozen pre-packaged. And when they put avocado on a burger...they don't skimp! (I hate when you go somewhere, pay extra and get half a slice.) food came out quickly too.

On our way back to Texas from Tennessee we decided to take the detour on Hope, Arkansas and it worth it, this place is managed by a really nice lady, not just friendly staff but awesome food I had the medium Swiss burger and the meat was so juicy and flavorful, I ate the salad instead if the fries and the ranch dressing was homemade and really good, vegetables were very fresh also, My husband had the Yankee burger with fries, he really enjoyed it, the fries were thick and hand cut I guess. Overall this is a really good place to eat, I will definitively come back if I hit Arkansas roads again! Prices very, very affordable.

Stopped here because of the great reviews and was not disappointed. Hamburgers were great and the Reuben sandwich was amazing. Everything freshly prepared. Fries were out of this world ! Staff very friendly. This will be one of our stops whenever we are driving thru.
(5)Rob F.
The only thing I can say about this place is it's absolutely great. By far one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. The service is fabulous. If your ever in Hope Arkansas you definitely have to stop in. Wish they had a cold beer to go with the burger though.
(5)Karen H.
One of the very best hamburgers ever. The fried green beans were outstanding. Everything prepared fresh to order by friendly and helpful staff. Absolutely worth the short drive off the interstate.
(5)Ravi R.
I give this place a 4 and a half. I can't believe no one has reviewed this place yet! The line at lunch time on a Thursday afternoon was out the door. The burgers were truly what burgers hope to aspire to be. If you're passing through the area it's totally worth the detour.
(4)Juan Francisco D.
Yup, fried green beans. Do it.
(5)Keri J.
A breath of fresh air for Hope. Love the tailgate booths and retro decor. Staff is friendly and courteous. They serve a wide variety of burgers and hot dogs. Their childrens menu starts around $4 with a drink included. With adult entrees drinks are seperate. My favorite is the avocado burger with onion straws and a chocolate shake.

I was impressed with the yelp response so I traveled the couple of miles off I30 to check out Tailgaters. In a town that offers little hope, it's a light in a dark place. The building is decorated well and conveniently located on Main Street right across from the local depot/museum. At noon on a Tuesday the place was half full of a combination of locals and tourists. No table service, you order at the counter and get you drink yourself. I ordered the medium Gorgonzola burger combo and for a $1 more asked for half fried green beans and half onion strings instead of the hand cut fries. The patties are formed by hand and the cheese was dripping everywhere. I was grateful for the roll of paper towels on the table and it wasn't long before the owner came by to check on me. Nice to know there is an oasis between Little Rock and Dallas worth checking out.
(4)Bob V.
Great place with cool hamburger choices. I like the atmosphere like a good sports bar without the Beer:( too bad. I still think this is the best in Hope.
(4)Mindi A.
Great little burger place. Reminds me a bit of Twisted Root in Dallas, and that's a good thing. Delicious burgers (available in 1/3 lb or 1/2 lb) and nice thick fries, and such a cute place. Love the truck out front and the tailgate bench seats. Definitely worth the pitstop. We'll be back I'm sure.
(5)Melissa L.
Great burgers close to President Clinton's birthplace! Yummy, juicy burgers and delicious thick-cut fries. Loved the fried green beans. You sit on benches fashioned out of tailgates. Very clever! Friendly, cheerful service sparkling with southern hospitality.

Don't Lose Hope, Try a Burger Hope, Arkansas: the hometown of Bill Clinton, Mike Huckabee and Tailgaters Burger Company. Take a guess at which one of the three is my favorite... Discovered this restaurant from complimentary Yelp reviews and am super glad I did! The decor inside is rustic and local, the perfect atmosphere for a great burger. It was also decorated for Christmas which was a nice touch. Sat on a booth that had previously been a bed of a pickup truck. Very quaint! The food was delicious. I had an avocado burger which was well-cooked with fresh avocado slices and other traditional burger toppings. My dad tried the mushroom & Swiss burger and was equally as impressed. Mom had the Gorgonzola burger and let me sample a bite. The flavor from the Gorgonzola was strong but not overwhelming. Very well done. The chocolate shake was the perfect thickness and contained the desired ratio of chocolate syrup to whip cream. Very filling. Overall, Tailgaters Burger Company is a must-visit if you are ever in Hope, AR. Friendly service, great burgers and an awesome atmosphere. The visitor center is also just across the road so afterwards you can go check out what else this small town has to offer!
(4)Jonathan R.
Excellent burgers, fresh avocados, clean bathrooms and fast service. Definitely worth the 3-min drive from I-30. Plus you get to see downtown Hope and the train station. Loved the avocado cheeseburger and the steak fries! Enjoy!
(5)Jerry W.
Very much worth getting off the highway. The décor was very cool. Old car garage décor. Burgers were very good. Lots of unique choices.
(5)Sherree T.
Hope is a cute little town and Tailgaters is a gem! Right across from an old (yet functioning) train depot, Tailgaters has great food, fun ambiance, and super friendly staff! It is definitely worth the (very short) detour off I-30. And my family agrees with the previous reviewer...try the fried green beans!
(5)G C.
We had a wonderful meal. Great burgers and those homemade french fries - Yum, Yum. Highly recommend this restaurant. Met one of the owners, very helpful with lots of recommendations for touring the area.
(5)Terry W.
Worth the 5 min off I-30. Great burgers and fried stuff!
(5)James B.
Found this wonderful downtown strip jewel while traveling down I30. Well worth the few minutes to drive 'into town'. The applewood smoked bacon burger was Great, and the Nathan's Hot Dog (grilled) was just as good. Really nice folks running the joint. Great decor! Highly recommend.
(5)Jennifer A.
Burgers and fries were amazing!!! Love the staff and atmosphere!! Definitely worth the short trip off the interstate!!!
(5)Rusty C.
Tried Tailgater's for the first time based on Yelp reviews. Have worked near Hope for years and never knew about this place. This is my new favorite in Hope. Had the applewood bacon cheeseburger and it was excellent. The 1/3 lb "combo" is a great deal at $7.99 with hand-cut fries and a drink. (If you are staying at a local hotel just mention it when you order for a 10% discount.) Service was excellent and the food very fresh. Decor is cool, music is just right - very comfortable place to just relax after you eat. Highly recommended.
(5)Barking B.
Very pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff & very good burgers. Show your hotel room key for a discount. We split a bacon burger, homemade fries & kid meals were good value.
(5)Richard B.
Great place...especially nice to find something like this in a small town while passing through. I would go back...its in downtown Hope. cool little town with trains and rustic appeal. I think amtrack stops there.
(4)Kyle M.
Came here on our way to Texas to see the Alabama Shakes. Great atmosphere, great food and the restrooms were very clean. Me and my dad both had the Gorgonzola burger which was fantastic. You can tell everything is made in house. This will definitely be my go to off this way on the interstate.
(5)N W.
We stopped here on our way to Texas because of the positive reviews. We were not disappointed. The owner took our order and brought us food and was so nice and helpful. The menu had a nice selection but wasn't overwhelming. Everything we ordered was great- fresh and just what we were expecting. The fries are sliced potatoes- not the processed garbage you find at most burger places. The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly. There was even a changing table in the ladies' restroom- a little detail that made dining with kids easier. Overall we were very pleased with our experience!
(5)Jarrod R.
Placed in a great location in Hope and not much extra to drive when getting a bite to eat from traveling on I-30, Tailgater's is one of the most amazing places I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. I've been several times and there hasn't been a single thing I've ordered that I haven't fallen in love with. I live 30 minutes from Hope but the food is more than well worth the drive to eat!
(5)Blair C.
The burgers and dogs are amazing. We tried the (1/2 pound) applewood bacon burger, the Gorgonzola burger, the 1/3 pound cheeseburger, and the "Heart Attack Dog" (a Nathan's dog split, stuffed with cheddar, wrapped in BACON, and FRIED). All were cooked to perfection, and served with a generous side of hand cut fries. The fried green beans and onion strings are also not to be missed! They were preparing milkshakes by hand when we left--they looked thick and creamy, but we were too full! We will definitely be back! This place is everything it has been touted to be. It is an older building that has been lovingly restored, and the decor is great!

Who knew........we stayed in a tiny town called Hope AR birthplace of President Bill Clinton because it's only an hour drive to Crater of Diamond State Park....the hotel staff recommended Tailgater's Burger Company for dinner if we don't want fast food...we think it's a godsend eatery in an overlooked town...the atmosphere is very pleasant...staff so friendly...doesn't rush you if you have not yet decided what to order...everything on the menu board sounds so delicious so I settled for the gorgonzola burger... meat perfectly cooked ...so juicy and tender ... I was not disappointed with my choice...I wish we had another day so I can try their Reuben sandwich...oh did I mentioned the French fries were perfectly cook...the owner stopped by our table to check if everything was alright.....go on stop by Tailgater's Burger if you're nearby....exit from I-30 East is Hope/Hervey Rd....turn right at the stop light...left on Division St right by the historical home of Pres Clinton...across the street from the visitor center
(5)Sheila G.
Staying in Hope after visiting Crater of Diamond State Park. We were hungry! Yelped and Tailgaters came up with 5 stars. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Cute decor. Ordered mushroom and Swiss burger with onion straws - medium combo. Burger was fresh made. Lettuce and tomato was also fresh. Wait staff was friendly. We ate at 5:30 and it wasn't busy, but started to pick up around 6. When we come back to this area again, would definitely patronize again.
(5)Cristen H.
Such a cute place. Just opened three years ago, and the owners put their hearts into the place--beautiful exposed brick walls, clever truck bench seats on the walls, and great antique windows. Right across from the historic train station. And the food was great too! Burgers were excellent, great onion rings, delicious fries, good kids' options. A happy surprise off the highway.
(5)Jeff S.
Good food and friendly staff. Next to the visitor center. We stopped in while traveling through...not on the highway, but worth the short drive. Kids menu.
(5)Les S.
Don't miss this place. We stopped on our from TX to IN. The owner stopped by the table and greeted us. Beautiful, creative setting with incredible burgers and dogs.
(5)Brad V.
Great burger joint. Went because of reviews on the internet and it was amazing. Onion strings may be the best I have had.
(5)Summer H.
We were Paul Newman order out in 10 mins and fantastic! Try the heart attack dog and applewood bacon burger and milk shake... What a great find!
(5)Lynda A.
Delicious, very clean, very homey. Service was great and such friendly people! Bathroom was so nice and clean. The food was freshly made and mighty tasty. We drove only a couple of minutes to get to it off interstate. Nice downtown area with lots of local folks smiling and holding doors open for you. I would truly go back again. We are from Springfield Mo but travel this road to see kids. Hard to find really good places to eat along our route. So glad to find a sweet place to stop and know you will be fed well and treated with genuine kindness.
(5)Brian S.
We were passing through town and stumbled across Tailgater's. What a lucky find, it was wonderful! I enjoyed the Applewood Bacon Cheeseburger and my wife the Mushroom and Swiss. The boyz loved the décor with the benches made out of tailgates.
(5)Frank F.
Excellent burgers and blt. My wife had the avocado burger, medium size combo and added grilled japs. (Although she requested them sauté d and the fella behind the counter looked at her funny, they got it right.) My youngest had the BLT, oldest had the applewood bacon burger and the middle had a plain cheeseburger, they all left nothing on their baskets. I had the applewood burger and added japs, excellent! The homemade fries are one of the best parts of the combo. In fact, my wife ordered the fried onion strips and liked the fries better. All in all it was a great detour from our long drive and we will certainly stop again.
(5)Derek G.
This place is a treasure! The burgers are amazing and the owners are wonderful! Definitely worth getting off the highway and venturing into Hope!
(5)Karin S.
This is a less than 5 minute detour off I30 on our trip from Austin to NW Arkansas. We all loved it! We all got burgers (my husband had the cheeseburger and I had the avocado burger, daughter had a kid's meal and our 4 year olds shared a burger). The service was quick and very friendly (one of the owners checked me out). $30 for our family of five. It's also right next to the train station, which was fun for our kids, and a Bill Clinton museum.
(5)Mark M.
Food was good, atmosphere great. Just one of those little hole in the wall places everyone should try at least once.
(4)Paula G.
Excellent!! Food was great!! Service great!! Very cute place and this is what Hope Needed!!
(5)Bernadette M.
Perfect place to stop for lunch or dinner when driving through Hope. Just a few minutes off the interstate and really great unique burgers! Everything was great and the restaurant even has a cool decor to go with it's name.
(5)Emma A.
Great place to stop when on a road trip. Loved the mushroom burger. It was also surprisingly clean for a burger place. The bathrooms were super clean and had a very cute baby changing table. :)
(5)Toi S.
Fantastic burgers and service. Great for kids. I had the mushroom & swiss, hubby had the applewood bacon cheeseburger. Ate ourselves into a stupor. Great food!
