We had a great movie experience! Pros: - The theater is very clean, nice, and intimate. - The seats were very comfortable. - The service was excellent, a call button is provided for fast service. - They have a great cocktail menu and plenty of draft beers and wine. - Great gourmet popcorn options! Cons: - The movies are not brand new, they have usually been in the theaters for 2-3 months before showing at this location. - The food was OK. The cheeseburger sliders were good and very filling, but the flatbread pizza was not really a "pizza" just a rectangle crispy cracker-like crust with a few slivers of chicken and ranch dressing. I do not recommend this dish. Overall, we really enjoyed the night out and plan to come back for other showings. Glad there's a place like this in Fort Smith!

First time eating at the restaurant. It was their Easter Buffet. We enjoyed our food. The Waitess was wonderful! Bottomless Mimosa great, Husband had the "build it yourself" Bloody Mary bar. Grits were rubbery, not much of a "salad bar" but ....Salmon, chicken, prime rib, shrimp and mac and cheese were great! They had a lot more there. This is just what we ate. Was a grand Date for us as we also saw a movie! We enjoy the movies and for several years only place we go to see them. ...however, their food there isn't very good....but the Staff has always been great! I would give that part of the place only 3 STARS.

New chef, but same old problem. The food at the Movie Lounge has (almost) always been good, but the prices are for excellent food, not simply good. I got the special, grilled salmon with risotto and asparagus. Everything was fine, but nothing special except the price! You are paying for the atmosphere and ambiance, but for the price the food should also be special.

Truly sad that such a beautiful space has such bad food. Aaron did a decent job as our server, a little slow, or we would have walked out. When we came in the front door the live music was too loud so we asked for a table near the back. The hostess tried to seat us by the stage. The hostess was clearly mad and made a rude comment when we insisted on going to a quieter spot. The salads and drinks were fine. The entrees were weak at best and overcooked. The potatoes were burnt to a crisp and should have been thrown out three days ago. The rice was mush and should not have been served, they clearly had stored it in the fridge and added water for several dinner services. Truly sad that such a nice place has such horrible food. It was not the servers fault. Apparently the new "chef" does not want to work weekends. If this is your kitchen and you don't want to work in the kitchen on a Friday or Saturday night to support your front of house sales team and your owner grow the business then you are in the wrong line of work. The food that came out of that kitchen was horrible. The potatoes were burnt beyond recognition. The rice was mush. The pork and chicken were overcooked. For a $17 entree with a $7 salad you should receive nice baked bread and butter. Pathetic.

Nice comfortable theater. My drink was half the cost of most cinema's. I thought it was rude and unnecessary near the end of the movie to get a check delivered disrupting your focus on the movie. As the sharks say, because of this I'm out. You all need to change that.

For Fort Smith, this is 5 stars, but to be in line with my own rating system, it is four stars. This is a WONDERFUL addition to the Fort Smith community. It is a modern casual restaurant serving upscale American cuisine. Once you're inside, you will quickly forget that you are inside a former Circuit City thanks to the modern, city-feel ambiance. The short of it: EAT HERE. DRINK HERE. The long of it... Service: 3-4 Our first night here, our waitress was nice and personable, but she would disappear for quite a while. After one long disappearance, I noticed she wreaked of cigarettes. This break came at an inopportune time, and we were left looking for service. Plus, with the strong smell, I was left wondering if she washed her hands. Eww. However, it was a full house on this night so she was a busy waitress. Some of the other staff stepped in occasionally to fill gaps, but I think this could be improved. On our second visit, our other waitress was very good. Granted the restaurant was mostly empty, but she was friendly and very informed on the menu. The hostess does a great job greeting and working the room. Ambiance/Decor: 4.5 Location is meh as it's in a shopping center, but one perk is there is ample parking. Once inside, you will quickly forget where you came from and may wonder if you've transported to another city (as opposed to a former Circuit City). Movie Lounge is a modern, upscale establishment where casual is still welcome (jeans and button up will do). The decor is great, and outstanding for FSM. The modern lighting, movies showing in the background, open kitchen, bar and stage feature, varied seating...it's damn impressive. They did a great job with it. I love the varied seating, meaning there are lounge chairs, high tops, standard tables, wine barrel booths, and private rooms with sliding glass doors. They also have 2 small theaters with food and drink service. If that's not enough, they have larger spaces for private events, meaning hooray for a new wedding reception venue in FSM! Food: 4-4.5 The pork chop was outstanding! So outstanding that they were sold out of it 4 days later. The shrimp and grits were also good. The hush puppy appetizers were moist and delicious with ample crab. The house made ravioli with ham, sweet potatoes, greens, and a touch of amaretto cookies were very unique, rich, and delicious. The halibut was good, but I thought the combination with spaghetti squash was a little off. The lamb shank was tender but could use more flavor. In short, Movie Lounge offers delicious, upscale, modern American cuisine made by a true professional chef. FSM is lucky to have Chef Will Greenwood! Drinks: 4 First, I must say that everyone enjoyed their cocktails, and I greatly appreciate their effort in providing FSM with creative, hand-crafted cocktails. However, I do wish they would expand their creativity, refine their offerings, and provide more seasonally appropriate drinks on their winter seasonal list (e.g. warm ciders, mullings, egg nog, more coffee beverages, etc.). Some of their specialty cocktails are standard cocktails with just a slight variation (such as Gin and Tonic with St. Germaine). I'm not sure if the creativity is muted due to the market or due to something else, but I would love to see the drink menu expanded to include classic favorites like Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Rob Roy, Rusty Nail, Moscow Mule, etc. One creative cocktail did stand out: the sailor cider, a delicious combination of rum, caramel apple liqueur and apple cinnamon tea. Very delicious! I'm happy Movie Lounge is in FSM, and happy to eat here twice in 4 days! Try it for an evening of fine-yet-casual dining!

I made reservations to take my mother here for her 80th birthday. From the moment we entered the restaurant which was basically empty at 7:30 on a Sat. Night the service was terrible. The hostess seemed to be mad and hostile that we asked to be seated towards the back of the room. There was a live band playing up front so I knew it would be way to load for my mother in the front by the band. Once seated it took at least 15 min before someone greeted us. Then another 15 min. To get our drink order. The food we were served was literally old and dried out. The rice with my entree had been reheated so many times it resembled oatmeal. Oh and did I mention the waiter got our orders all mixed up. Here's the funny thing I didn't realize it because the food on my plate was so bad I couldn't tell if it was chicken or pork. Really horrible. It's very sad, this is a beautiful venue. Very upscale and has so much potential. The waiter told us the chef didn't work on Saturday nights and the cook in the kitchen didn't know what he was doing. If this were my restaurant and I had this much money invested in the space I would damn sure be hiring a trained chef. This was a pathetic excuse for fine dining.

If you're interested in fine dining in Fort Smith, this is certainly the place to go. They're the only place in town with a celebrity chef - chefblythebeck.com - Chef Blythe Beck. My favorites are the Fried Chicken and Waffle and the divine Hard Candied Apple dessert. They have live music often, but I know that Thursdays are always a bunch of fun with people dancing.

First let me just say I never write reviews. This had to be the worst food I've ever had from a restaurant. I was visiting Fort Smith from NC and after 3 nights of eating at chain restaurants I decided to try something different. I saw the Movie Lounge. I thought they had a nice concept. The dishes were pricey but I have no issue with spending a little extra for good food. I made a reservation and when I got there the restaurant was really nice. The customer service was really good and they had a live band playing. I love the idea of bringing popcorn to the table only it was a tad bit greasy. I ordered the smoked chicken dip appetizer that's was eh but it was edible. Oh but the main dish that I ordered was Awful. I only ate the mashed potatoes after I had to season them with salt and pepper. The chicken was flavorless and the seasonal veggies must've been soaked in oil. In top of the food not being good it also cost me $30. What a complete waste. Wish I would've just gone to a different place all together.

This review is only intended for the cinema, which is top notch. They offer a great selection that changes often, frequently showing great movies you can't see anywhere else. I believe they have a deal with Roadside Attractions, which gives us a ton of great low-budget and indy movies. Plus, you can order drinks to enjoy during the show. The seating is extremely comfortable and can essentially function as a couch if you're a cuddler. Anytime I go to the movies (which is frequently) I always check Movie Lounge first.

In the context of being located in a smaller city with limited dining options (aside from the usual chain joints), this is a unique venue. That's about the extent of the "kudos" I can offer. 1) Overpriced. At an entree price of $30 and up (approaching $40 for steaks), I would have expected the highest quality. I ordered the "cherry laquered rack of lamb" for $29 which sounded amazing. The lamb was very fatty and the edible portion of the meat-on-bone serving was minimal. 2) Quality. The sides (on my dish it was jalapeno grits and seared asparagus) were cold and flavorless. 3) Service. Our server was friendly, no fault there, but talk about slow! We had a party of 10 and between drinks, one round of appetizers, a main course and four deserts it took 3 1/2 hours. In fact, it took so long that we missed the movie even though we showed up two hours before show time. There appeared to be plenty of staff members working for the number of tables so I have no idea why it was so slow. 4) Knowledge of the food. When I asked what my side was, the food runner kept trying to convince me they were mashed potatoes and had no idea what grits were. Even when other members of my party told him the menu said it was grits he stuck to his guns saying they were mashed potatoes. Granted, the server should know the menu inside and out moreso than a food runner but to have seemingly no awareness of the offerings seemed odd. 4) Transparency. This was the most concerning thing for me. I work for a large company and travel often for my job, usually taking out large groups of team members in every city I visit so I'm no stranger to dining out with groups. Most restaurants disclose clearly on the menu and the receipt when a gratuity is added for large groups. I saw nothing on the receipt or menu indicating a gratuity was added so I didn't think anything of adding a $180 tip for our $900 bill on the charge receipt. I later found that a "service charge" of $130 was buried in and among the line item food charges which I assume was for a gratuity but even now I still don't know. It doesn't set well with me that this charge appears to be placed in such a way as to deliberately mislead consumers into paying more-than-the-standard gratuity/tip (plus, I don't even know if a "service charge" is a tip that goes to the server or if it's a fee from the restaurant). Be more transparent, deceiving patrons is not a winning strategy. If you go here, know what you're getting. It's a unique atmosphere with slow service, overpriced food that's edible but no better than that of any other major chain.

Great place for an adult date. The atmosphere was amazing and unique. I love the idea of dinner and a movie at the same time. We did have the Sunday brunch and it was ok but next time we will just stick to eating in the theater. It was the 1st time in my life that I got to get a beer while watching a movie. I would have gave it a 5 star but the Sunday brunch was a little on the cold side and also the theater was a little on the warm side and I asked them to turn down the heat and I sweated in the nice leather seats, literally. Will be coming back when once they get some more unique movies like West of Memphis that we have been waiting to see for so long.

This establishment is very upscale and the food seems to be very affordable for the type of cuisine they serve, but our experience here was below my expectations. We rented a screening room for our party and very special occasion. The movie lounge requires a $600 deposit and for the client to sign a contract for the spending amount to be at least $600. With 15 people buying food and drinks, exceeding this amount would not be a problem. The problem was that once everyone had arrived, we were not promptly greeted. It took some time for our server to take our drink order. Many of us ordered drinks appetizers and dinner all at once because we had the extra time to think about all of it. Food also took some time to come out. The smokers went out to smoke while the others were left with empty drinks. Both myself and a guest ordered the rack of lamb. I wanted mine mid-rare and his medium. Both came out rare with a great sear. I've worked in a restaurant for 4 years and I know what they are suppose to be. Not that red, especially on the medium. We did not complain, we didn't want to wait 30 more minutes for a recook. I enjoy dessert, but we had already been there for 2 and a half hour with other plans for the evening. It is the servers' job to determine if their guest want to have a slow lingering night or prompt attentive service. We asked for our checks and when it never came we all walked up to the desk and paid there. The event was on Saturday and I did not get my deposit back until I made several calls to them on Monday, Tuesday, then finally Wednesday. Mail or pick-up? Pick-up of coarse, I'm visiting from out of state, if you cannot deposit it back to where you took it, I prefer to pick it up. Its just a small thing in life. It won't matter in the long run. People will always be frustrating. As long as the problem gets fixed, that's all that matters. So you get an extra star. :/

A real diamond find especially for Fort Smith. Many menu items that just are not available elsewhere. Up scale decor and service with full bar. Live entertainment many nights. And you can slip into the movie before or after dinner. The in-movie food should be consider appetizer portions only.

I welcomed this place to Ft. Smith and I've had some great experiences here. But tonight's dinner was nothing but bleh. The special was a sausage shish-k-bob with a side of corn on the cob. The waiter gushed about the creamy sauce on the corn but it was just a tepid, coagulated bit of cheese on a shriveled, not so fresh cob. The shish k bob had maybe 5 slices of sausage and fresh vegetables but NO seasoning and it had probably touched the grill for 30 seconds. Concept is great, venue is beautiful, food is lazy. Won't be going back, at least for a long while.
