We love this place and have gone several times but I was extremely impressed by my entree last Saturday: the Red Snapper. Our server, Tyler, who was very good, by the way, was very enthusiastic when I ordered that dish. Once we were finished and he came to take our plates away I had to tell him he was absolutely right! Definitely a new favorite. Also recommend the sampler platter as an appetizer. It's a really fun way to get a good introduction to the types of food this place is so famous for. Also love the ambiance and when you go early near 5 o'clock there's not a lot of wait time. Haven't tried it later in the evening.

The food was excellent, the service was as well. The beer selection was not disappointing. I have no complaints; everything was very nice. It was a really relaxing ambiance and I thought the general layout and decor was fantastic. I would not hesitate to recommend this place; I say that nobody should pass on giving this place a try, it's well worth it.

Excellent!! The food is great the restaurant is tastfully decorated and the staff is very friendly. A very unexpected but pleasant surprise ******************************************** Update 2/1/2013 Still amazing! You cant get a better quality environment, staff, service or food for the money anywhere else! I've eaten food from most of the states on the east coast and this is my absolute favorite place to eat out of all the places I've ever eaten! Half of the year they offer a phenomenal breakfast buffet on Sundays. They accept reservations althoguh I dont think they are required.

Found while traveling on business. Great decor, friendly waitstaff and amazing authentic German food. Had the potato pancakes as appetizer and jaeger schnitzel for dinner, both of which were fantastic. They give you complimentary bread, homemade potato soup and salad, so it's a lot of food. If my travels take me back to fort smith, I would not hesitate to eat here again

Authentic German food made with fresh ingredients by hand everyday distinguishes Emmy's from so many other German places we have tried. We know who makes their own red cabbage and who doesn't -- and Emmy's does. We loved the special recipe house dill dressing on the crisp green salad. It was a vinegar and lemon based dressing, not a creamy dill dressing as we expected -- very fresh and perfectly balanced. The potato soup is fresh and hearty, enlivened by fresh herbs. Jaeger schnitzel (choice of pork or veal) came topped with a house-made (not canned) brown gravy in which fresh mushrooms and slow cooked caramelised onions had been added. The schnitzel was perfect -- fine bread crumbs cooked in real butter adhered well to the meat. We also had the fried cheese appetizer -- YUM! Fresh baked pumpernickel bread was good enough to get boxed up to go back to Dallas with us. EAT HERE NOW!! :)

I make it a point to try German restaurants wherever I travel, and Fort Smith was no exception. Overall the food quality was fine. I learned that the restaurant was sold from the German family who started it to a local Italian restaurateur. A few surprises on the menu that MAY not be traditional German, such as the German egg rolls. After learning recently how to make home-made sauerkraut the stuff served here was obviously mass-produced, not made in the traditional way.

Sampler Board: $15.99 Emmy's Specialty Platter: $19.79 The Sampler Board was a solid choice. Two German Egg Rolls, a Fried Cheese brick, one Knackwurst and one Bratwurst. It was served with some honey mustard and some spicy brown mustard. I really enjoyed the brown on everything that came on the board. Very good stuff. For dinner, the Platter did not disappoint. Beef Rouladen, Chicken Cordon Bleu, and the Jäger Schnitzel. Each was very good on it's own. The Rouladen was tender and tasty, the schnitzel was done just right and was tender as well. The cordon Bleu was done up just right. House red cabbage and some potatoes were served family style and were both good as well. I got the German chocolate cake for dessert. I was disappointed and found it to be a little bland and unsatisfying. It wasn't bad by any means, it just wasn't up to par with the preceding meal. Overall, I really enjoyed dining here and would love to again. I suggest this place for anyone who likes German food or for someone who wants to try.

Incredible. Having visited this place frequently when living in Fort Smith, I never had a bad dish. The Bratwurst, the German Eggrolls, the Schnitzel, virtually everything on the menu is incredible! It's now been joined with a seafood restaurant, and while I haven't had anything from that menu, if it has any quality from Emmy's, it's probably pretty amazing.

Was told it is owned by neighboring Italian restauranteur...ain't no Emmy or Al no more. Decorating budget ran out before the de rigueur Red Stag mount and full Stein Collection were secured. Sample Board a must for appetizers. Skip the Avocado and Tomato Salad if you expect tomatoes. Sauerbraten all sour and little 'braten'. Cottage fries great, red cabbage enticing - dumplings and spatzle- present but not voting. Limited beer offerings, no Munchen mugs. Das ist alles.

This place is rock solid. Highly recommend the Board 1 appetizer. The sausages are delicious. The schnitzels are very tasty. When driving there you might get thrown off by the abrupt turn to 13th street, also try to avoid going the wrong way on the "one way" street. It is a must in the Fort Smith area.

Solid good food in a true German fashion. Took me back to the old days of grandmas cooking. Do not go if you are on a diet. Also it is not a chain, so do not expect fast. But if you want good food this is it.

Been going there for as long as I can remember, the change of management did not change the quality of the food. Fried Cheese, Chicken Cordon Bleu and the Rahm Schnitzel are personal favorites. Apple strudel for dessert is also a MUST try.
