Hands down the BEST BEST BBQ I have EVER had in my life! The local CORE beer goes perfectly with anything they have. This is place is what it is- A BBQ joint. No frills, down to earth. paper towels on the table and clean up after your self kind of place

Very solid BBQ all the way around. The pulled pork is a standout. I'm not a potato salad fan, but enjoy it here. Six sauces on the table, all quite good, but ask at the counter for some spicy sauce if you want to spice it up. Downgrade from four stars to three. I was in town and stopped for some bbq. The portion size was smaller and the bun was extremely stale. Hopefully it was an exception to the rule.

I'm from Memphis, so of course I'm picky about BBQ. This place has won several trophies, including some from the Memphis in May BBQ championships, so I knew it would be a great place to try! You order at the counter, get your own fountain drink, and wait for your order number to be called. The pulled pork, nachos, and potato salad are all fantastic here. The potato salad is the best I've had anywhere. They also have 6 different sauces to choose from, so there is something for everyone.

This BBQ is on point and they work hard to be recognized for it. The pulled pork is some of the best in Northwest Arkansas and evidently also the USA. They offer several sauces with different base types that are sure to please any kind of BBQ fanatic. The pulled pork sandwiches are loaded with meat can be served "Memphis style" (slaw on bun) if that's how you'uns like it! There is plenty of space for large groups and they also cater. The interior is decorated with awards and trophies they've earned in battle. This is a must eat for any BBQ lover in the NWA area.

My visit was an absolute disappointment. The young woman taking orders set a negative tone, then came the real disappointment...the meal! I should have known the bar-b-que would be broiled meat when there was no sign of pits in the store front mall. The meat (especially the brisket) was severely over cooked and had the flavor of cardboard. The beans were a poor rendition of baked beans and the roll was a cold packaged mess. I suggest that the owners go on a trip to Lexington, Texas, and visit a true bar-b-que place. I regret that my wife and I ate at Whole Hog. It was a bad, bad experience and NW Arkansas deserves more!

Ribs and brisket are terrific. Very tender and full of flavor. Many kinds of homemade barbecue sauce to go with it. Great place.

This is the best BBQ in Fayetteville. Here's what I tell my friends: Yes, it's in a strip mall & looks like a corporate cafeteria, but it's lined with trophies. I am a rib person, and these ribs are juicy and take almost no effort to get off the bone. The 6 sauces (I haven't tried the secret super-hot 7th sauce) are all delicious, including a nice hot tomato-based one and a delicious mustard sauce. You can eat them sauceless if you prefer. The pulled pork is delicious, the brisket is good, and I am a little in love with the potato salad (which I think has bacon in it-- sorry, veggies.) Go here now. No, now. Ok, now.

WOW!!! They have quite a few awards for "Best Barbecue" in Arkansas and in Fayetteville. Now that I've tried it, I know why! My wife and I wanted to try barbecue while in Arkansas and we found this. AMAZING!!! I got the combo plate with cheesy corn and potato salad. I tried all six sauces and liked them all. I still haven't decided which is my favorite. The potato salad was hands down the best I have ever had! My wife and I did all but lick our plates for the fantastic flavor. I will definitely be back if I am ever in the area.

I've eaten here twice and both times the food was delicious. These guys seem to really know their BBQ and have won some impressive awards for their cooking! I had the pulled pork sandwich plate which came topped with coleslaw and accompanied by two additional sides. I chose baked beans and the potato salad. The beans had a nice taste and the potato salad was sour-cream-based which was different but quite tasty. My BF had the special - the pulled rib sandwich - and said it was tender and flavorful, but he thought they were stingy on the single-scoop portion of baked beans (he's from Texas). My aunt said she really likes the chicken, but this time she ordered the nachos and wasn't too impressed. My uncle really likes their ribs. They offer six different BBQ sauces which can be found at each table so you can try them all. It was a difficult decision, but I think I like number three the best. I'll just have to go back and try them all again :). I was a bit disappointed in the decor - a generic, concrete-floored, formica-tabled affair with only one dead animal on the wall. (Half a hog? Really, wouldn't a WHOLE hog be more appropriate?) I enjoyed the ambient lighting but some wood and maybe a stuffed opossum or armadillo would be a nice touch (guess I've been in Texas too long). Oh well, it's still a great place to eat and I look forward to a return visit!!!

I had the pulled pork and coleslaw plate meal. The pulled pork was tasty, but a little drier than I would've liked. What was especially good was the selection of six BBQ sausages, each of which has a number. I mixed number one (which is sweet) together with number two ( a little spicy) and created a great combo. The interior decoration is nothing to talk about, it's rather plain. The biggest negative of the entire experience was the girl running the register that checked us out on a Sunday afternoon. She was very unfriendly, Whole Hog really needs to do better job of training people that interface with the customers. Overall, I still liked the experience.

Smoked meat and sauces are pretty good, but not anything that sets this place apart than any other BBQ. Order at the window, get your drink and listen for your number. Decor is plain and drab. Lots of seating, but only three other people here at the time I ate.

It is very hard to please me with barbecue, but I come to Whole Hog for ribs mostly. The pull pork is not bad at all for the area and Whole Hog is in my top 3 barbecue joints in Northwest Arkansas. The nice thing about Whole Hog is they have plenty of sauces so everyone can find one they enjoy. Unless you want vinegar based sauce.

I love Whole Hog in Fayetteville and in Little Rock! They cook meat like masters and they offer 6 sauces to fit different people or different meats. I love the chopped chicken or pork. I also like the ribs. They have an awesome potato salad with meat in it... It's ridiculously good and I usually don't like potato salad.

I thought this place was ok. I decided to go with the brisket and they do ask if you want the slaw on the sandwich or not. Personally I like my slaw on the side, but decided to go with the flow and said bring on the slaw. The cafe is situated in a strip mall and is pretty spacious inside. Reminded me like a typical fast food joint and I guess I felt like the food was similar to that. In each of the booths they did have different flavored sauces which was nice. The slaw was kinda blah and didn't add to the sandwich, and I guess I didn't really appreciate the meat all that much. At least the brisket wasn't dry, but I didn't really get a flavor until I doused it with sauce. The sauces are pretty good though. Guess I should have ordered something other than a sandwich.

One of my dear friends who is a pilot flew this to Los Angeles where we live and we had a FEAST. He brought home 3lbs of pulled pork, two slabs of ribs, potato salad, coleslaw and beans. 6 of us destroyed it!!!!!!!!!! The potato salad is so unreal that it made my mouth water!!!! There is bacon in it. I have never heard of something so fabulous. I have never yelped about a place that I have never been to before BUT I felt it was my duty to let everyone know how awesome their food is. I how no idea what Arun below me is talking about. He is acting like he grew up in Beverly Hills.

I came in so excited and left disappointed. I had the pork and brisket and both meats were DRY. I tried to drench them in sauce to no avail. Brisket was also tasteless. Sides were solid, beans actually fantastic. Either the meat was leftover from Memorial Day or cooked way too long.

My favorite BBQ place in NWA! They've earned several trophy displayed when you walk in. Great potato salad! 5 star

I rate this real low to try to bring the rating down because this place is not worthy of 4 stars. The food is OK and there are not that many options. This place is straight up cheap and maybe that's why people eat here and love it. The style is very casual dining, I call it McDonald's Style. You order your food, you wait, the food comes at the counter and you take it to your table. The place serves pulled pork, chicken, brisket, and ribs. Unfortunately they only have baby back ribs which to me is a fancy way of saying that they can't cook real ribs (St. Louis Style) They only have one platter where you can get 3 different meats, babyback ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. It also comes with 3 sides, beans, coleslaw, and potato salad. The potato salad is nothing to rave about but a lot of folks have. It's basically potatoes with lots of ranch dressing. The only thing that was impressive was the sauces. The sauces were right on as far as flavor profile. This is one of those places where you get what you pay for and you're not going to get much.

Been here a few times with family and with friends. Table for 2-8. Self-seating. Plenty of choices. ATMOSPHERE: Order at the window. They give you a number and wait for your number to be called. Trophies for past victories are everywhere! It's a pretty relaxed and makes me feel a bit like I'm at a college cafeteria. SERVICE: No table service. They plate it in the kitchen, you take it from the window and they will clean up after you. Fountain drinks available FOOD: Excellent variety of sauce available at the tables. I like getting the Whole Hog Platter which comes with 3 ribs, pulled pork, tri-tip, a dinner roll and two sides. The protein is decent, however the pulled-pork has been a bit of a disappointment considering it has been a bit dry and tough every time. The tri-tip is probably the better of the three. The ribs come with a glaze but it can be a little dried out sometimes. The sides are probably my favorite. I really enjoyed the cheesy corn and beans. Mind-you, I am not a fan of beans, but I was very surprised at how tasty it was! The slaw wasn't bad either. My husband made the regretful mistake of ordering chips the first time there. My only big complaint about the food was how cold it was. It was barely warm and chilled by the time I finished. OVERALL: I love going there because the food is pretty good for the price and speed. PLUS we can sit and talk and hang out without waiters bothering us. RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE GUESTS: Don't order chips. RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE OWNERS: Food needs to be hotter.

This is my favorite BBQ place in Arkansas! I've tried Penguin Ed's and Sassy's, and although those are both good restaurants, Whole Hog takes the prize! When you look at the walls and see endless amounts of trophy's, you realize they seem to take the prize time and time again. My fav's: Ribs Pulled Pork Potato salad #5 and #6 sauces I live in Los Angeles so we're pretty deprived on great BBQ, so in the last couple years I always leave NWA with a couple full racks of ribs and a couple pounds of pulled pork. I'm everyone's favorite person when I get in town with Whole Hog BBQ for dinner, and I never miss a chance to stock up on this stuff before I leave.

Good Q. This is a regular Friday lunch for a big group from our office. The place is big and loud. You have to order at the counter and then wait for Charlie Browns teacher to call your number. I think the potato salad is fantastic since I don't like mustard in mine. I just put the slaw on my pulled pork sandwich and it works great for a little crunch and flavor. There aren't many sides to speak of but all of the meats are very tasty.

I thought this was an above average barbeque experience. I'll go from what I liked least to what I liked best. The sides that I got were the least enjoyable part of the meal. They were not bad, but they weren't special either. The coleslaw looked and tasted like KFC coleslaw. This isn't really a bad thing, but you know, not great either. The potato salad didn't have any mustard in its base. It was creamy, and well textured, but didn't have enough of a kick for me. The environment was nice. Nothing fancy (which is how a bbq spot should be). When I first saw the brisket I thought, "oh no, they sliced the brisket too thin!" Luckily, despite my concern it was quite juicy and flavorful. Not the best brisket ever, but really solid. I also tried the ribs, and they were really quite good. They had a nice glaze on them, a good texture, and were juicy as well. Most important of all, they tasted good. If I had to choose only the brisket or only the ribs, I would pick the ribs. The star of the meal were the sauces. There are six to choose from: traditional tomato, traditional southern (vinegar), hot tomato, mustard, mild molasses, and heavy molasses. In other words, a flavor for every taste. I liked all of them, but as the meal progressed I found myself gravitating mostly to the mustard (usually my fav), traditional southern, and traditional tomato (in that order). All of them were great though. If I'm in the area again, I will more than likely be back here.

A good barbecue place needs to pay as much attention to the sides as they do the smoking and this place does. The pulled pork was perfect, pork ribs great, brisket was moist but no hint of smoke. I would definitely come back.

Great Arkansas BBQ . Pulled pork outstanding. Ribs good. I wasn't crazy about the sides but loved the selection of sauce. Over all really solid choice for down home BBQ .

I am a BBQ snob. I admit it. I can smoke Pork Butts and Ribs with the best of them. BUT! Whole Hog is GREAT! I have eaten there numerous times and not once have I been disappointed. They have a great selection of BBQ Sauces and they are all good. Their Potato Salad is the only Potato Salad I have ever wanted to eat more of. I actually will go buy quarts of this stuff to eat at home it is so good. Now to the main event. They have AWESOME Ribs! I know, I know... Ribs are a very subjective thing. All BBQ is. Some like lots of smoke, some none. Some like Baby backs, some like spares. Some like dry and some wet. It may be subjective, but Whole Hog is the only place in town that makes Ribs as good as I do in my smoker at home. So, to me they are awesome! The Pulled Pork is also very good. Not overly smoky, but good smoked flavor. Moist and has a really nice bark. Try this place! It's GOOD!

Best BBQ bar none. Owners have won every BBQ championship known and you will find out why! Great Food friendly staff clean tables. You will not walk away hungry. The Whole Hog Platter will feed two easily. Want good food stop here and chow down.

I had Whole Hog Cafe yesterday for the first time. Being from Texas, I love some good BBQ and I must say that this place definately hit the spot for me and I will be a repeat customer! First off--- their potato salad .... AMAZING! I don't know exactly what's different about it (the lack of mustard, maybe?) but it was incredible and I might have just eaten an entire plate of it had they brought it to me. I seriously contemplated asking them for a to-go container full of it to bring home to the boyfriend to enjoy. Also, the sauces. They offer you 6...count them... 6 different kinds of BBQ sauce at the table. (Plus the illusive "Volcano" sauce you have to ask for behind the counter.) I went a little "sauce-happy" and had to try every one of them on my brisket. It's nice, though because you can mix them or bogart your favorite one!

I'm partial to Memphis style Ribs and Pulled Pork and this beats anything in the seven states surrounding AR and I've eaten at most of the Memphis joints. By far some of the best BBQ in the south. I don't eat a lot of Brisket as that is a TX, OK thing but the brisket at the Whole Hog is great as well. Go out of your way to eat here if necessary, it is worth it. They have places all over Arkansas and they use the same equipment and recipe so it taste the same in each location.

This is the best BBQ on the planet. Even when I was vegetarian I still ate their pulled pork sandwiches. In my convoluted moral system, I figured it was more painful to deny myself Whole Hog BBQ than it was for the pig to be made into succulent food for me. After all, what better a fate can a pig expect than to become Whole Hog?

This is the ONLY place to eat real BBQ in Fayetteville. Also: the sauce #5 is outrageously good, it's only competition is the #6...

Loud acoustics due to concrete floor, TV, and background music, ice machine, intercom calling out order numbers, dragging chairs.... Crazy loud! Nice people, ok BBQ, acceptable prices.

Best BBQ in Fayetteville. Place looks like a cafeteria but who cares?

Atmosphere is not great as some other reviewers have mentioned, but the food is fantastic. Best BBQ in NWA and that's saying something in my opinion.

Tasty baked beans and potato salad but ribs and brisket were dry. Service was okay.

Be prepared for counter service and some extremely good barbecue. The meat was so tender it practically fell off the ribs, and the pulled pork was tasty too. No ambiance, and located in a strip mall, but as long as you know what you are getting into, you will be happy.
