The food is FANTASTIC! The atmosphere, like I saw another reviewer say, is no frills. However, the atmosphere fits the food. Nothin fancy, just good stuff! I'm a pretty tough critic and the ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars is because I believe a 5 star meal is life changing! The cookies on the other hand..... Those are life changing! If you're in Fayetteville and feel the need to fill your soul with an abundant amount of smoked meats, this is the place for you!

The atmosphere is great service is fast as far as Bar B Q this is the place to go in Fayetteville AR- Meat is tender and very flavorful- will always go here, it is worth the money and I have never been disappointed.

They must get 5 stars for the incredible cookies. I stop here as soon as I get into town to pick up several white chocolate apricot. The oatmeal raisin are incredible too.

Lied to me about dairy in their ingredients for no reason. So now I'm spending the rest of the night losing my dinner rapidly from both ends. Thanks for that.

I am confused by the other reviews. It seems like everyone that reviews this place loves it. I have had better BBQ at airport food service places. The staff was very friendly, but the food was just ok at best. Ribs were not as tender as they should have been and sides were lukewarm. I would skip this place in favor of other Fayetteville restaurants.

First time we stop we got a couple pounds of meat to go, with buns and eat on the job site. Everyone was so impressed we went back at the end of the day. Best BBQ around, hands down, could not ask for a friendlier bunch of people. The crew fights over who gets to go when we are near Wedington, just in hopes we might stop. Only bad point, as we live in Missouri we only wish you had a location closer to the Stateline, but we don't mind the drive BEST BBQ IN NW AR

Average BBQ joint. It is high price in relation to its quality and taste. There are much better BBQ places in thus area. The one near me is on the way home so we stop there for carry out occasionally if we are in a too lazy to cook mood. It is not horrible and won't break the bank but that us about it.

Took a buddy of mine to eat there when we were down for the Tennessee game. It was my first time eating at Penguin Ed's. I loved the interior and atmosphere. You can have a beer and BBQ in a very laid back atmosphere. I got the BBQ pork sandwich. I got to be honest, I thought the food was a little odd. It was ok but two things stood out. 1) Instead of the traditional "pulled pork" the meat was like cubed. For traditional BBQ loyalist, it has to be pulled and have that "shredded" appearance for full flavor. Of course a BBQ joint called "Penguin Ed's" probably calls for outside of the norm. 2) The sandwich did not come on a bun but rather Texas toast. That threw me a little. So, it was okay but not the traditional Memphis style BBQ I am use to eating when in Arkansas.

The food was great at a great price. I got way more than I expected and of course if you like Penguins they are everywhere

Love that this BBQ joint has a vegetarian section on the menu. Portobello salad is one of my favorite lunches to grab when I am working in Fayetteville.

Some of the best bbq I've had. It's a little off on certain days but usually it's awesome. Once the pork was very over smoked but it was still ok to eat. It got bitter it was smoked too much. The freaking beer battered fries are INSANELY good. The sauces are also very good. A little " safe " and boring but nothing a little hot sauce can't spruce up. Overall, this place rocks and it's cheap. 95% of the time I leave extremely happy. Try it out!

Just like the original Penquin Ed's on the South side of Fayetteville. Good Bbq and sides. Decor is more modern and cleaner at this West location but food is the same.

Very good. Had the brisket and pulled pork with BBQ beans and coleslaw for sides. The brisket was a little on the dry side and had to drown it in sauce but the pulled pork made up for it and was excellent. Both sides where very flavorful, especially the bbq beans. Felt like I had a great lunch at a decent price.

Penguin Ed's is the kind of place you hope to find in a college town like Fayetteville. It's laid-back, cheap, delicious, and has t-shirts you can buy with the restaurant's logo. Decor is cute, with any kind of penguin figurine you can imagine. I got a ton of food for like 10 bucks, and it was delicious. This isn't barbecue that you might get at say, the Jack Daniels' BBQ festival or one of those, but it's still very good. Way Out West isn't quite as convenient as the original over by the University, but I think the food was better. (They don't have the phones you call your order in on, though, so that kind of stinks.) If you're in Fayetteville and you don't want the same old chain restaurant, definitely try out Penguin Ed's. Good, cheap eats.

Pretty good cue! Very small place out in Fayetville with very cheap food. My buddy took me here over the weekend and I was sort of taken back when we had to pick up a phone to order our food. I got the brisket sand on homemade bread with fried okra. The brisket was a bit dry but the sauce on the meat definitely packed some flavor. The fried pickles were almost tempura which kinda sucked. All in all it was pretty good and for the price you cant beat it!

Super!! Great food. Friendly, helpful staff. Cool setting. Glad the Penguin came to West Fay withthis location. Always good to order a homemade cookie as an appetizer to munch on while waiting for the main event. The grilled brocolli as a side might sound out of place but it is wicked good.

This is actually my favorite of the three Penguin Ed restaurants in town. The food is very reasonably priced and always delicious - my husband and I get take-out here pretty regularly and it's always prepared quickly and packaged up well. The Smoked Chicken salad is big and has tons of toppings - it's my favorite, but the other salads are good too. The burgers are consistently great, as are the sandwiches. One of the few places in town I've been to frequently with zero complaints.
