Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Most authentic Mexican food in Northwest Arkansas. It's a little piece of Mexican heaven. Tacos, burritos, and quesadillas are amazing. Always looking to try new things on the menu. If you want a fancy restaurant, look somewhere else, but if you want delicious Mexican food this is your place.

Love the food, the super laid back and casual atmosphere. Friendly staff +excellent food +great prices ='s one of my favorite lunch places.
(5)Mark C.
Great food! Lots of seating also a small grocery store and meat market! Lots of food options and friendly staff!!
(4)Alejandro C.
For any homesick Texan craving authentic Mexican, skip Mexico Viejo and all other imposters. Colombiamex ( Burrito Loco) is the place to go

I've been to this restaurant many times. It started out excellent but has recently made a turn for the worst. The food quality has gone down, the service is disrespectful, prices have gone up, and you don't even get chips/salsa free with the meal! This food is NOT difficult to cook and it is a shame they have consistently failed to do so in my recent visits. Cold beans and rice, discourteous employees that hardly speak English, and no real silverware/plates. I'll cook at the crib next time or just drive to Springdale. The tamales suck and they are usually burnt on one end.

When we visited the area was under a heat advisory and we should have turned around when we walked into the restaurant and found the A/C was not working well, but we were very hungry after being on the road all day. The staff was nice, but the food was just okay overall.

El Burrito Loco is a great hole in the wall mexican restaurant, conveniently located next to another (not as good) mexican restaurant. The menu has tons of choices, all of which are really amazing. Their tacos are great, their burritos are great, their meat dishes are great, its just a fantastic mexican restaurant. Not to mention, they have Horchata. Literally the best drink ever invented. The fish soup, and the beef dish (I believe its the Colorado) were my favorite. The tacos are a great cheap meal. This place deserves more publicity then it gets.
(4)Heather R.
Best Mexican Food in Fayetteville. They make their sauces fresh everyday, and is authentic mexican food. Super cheap. The only funky thing is the bathrooms are dirty, otherwise I would recommend this place to anyone.
(5)Alejandro Z.
This place is great! I've been there multiple times. The people are friendly, and they have a lot of variety of Mexican food. This is as authentic as it gets. Trust me, I'm Mexican. This is the best Mexican food I've had, except for my moms cooking of course.
(5)Skyler M.
Outstanding!! Great little mexican grocery and restaurant that is quick, authentic amd most importantly delicious. My wife had the Razorback which was awesome while I had asada and chorizo street tacos which were also excellent. As we live in KC we even got to containers of their spicy red salsa to take back up north with us. We will be back!
(5)Steven B.
Excellent Mexican Food! Very Authentic. Food and Atmosphere were Excellent. Different, to Americans, but it definitely reminded me of Mexico!

If you love authentic Mexican food and live in NWA, you NEED to make Burrito Loco a part of your flavor loving life. I've brought several friends here, each with a similar outcome, "I never knew about this place, but I'm going to start coming here all the time!" Burrito Loco is part a la carte Mexican dream restaurant/taqueria, part grocery. While the small grocery area of a few shelves and coolers is majorly snacks and drinks (and a butcher towards the back), the a la carte menu boasts a huge variety of delightful things that you thought maybe Taco Bell made up. From their tacos to burritos to tamales, gorditas and more, everything is made with lots of flavor and good portions. As if that wasn't enough, there's a station with several different salsas, cilantro, onions, peppers and more. If there was one piece of advice I could offer patrons it's to really take advantage of all the delicious salsas on this bar. One in particular, a creamy looking green salsa that tastes phenomenal poured over anything and everything. In the past few months they've improved ease of ordering. Head to the back and order by the window under the menu. I like grabbing a cold bottle of Jarritos from the fridge before placing my order and drinking while I wait. The people here are incredibly friendly and add to the experience. While you can expect to wait 5-10 minutes for even a small order, it does not take away from all the goodness of this treasure. Embrace el burrito loco and it will embrace you.

Great food, Great atmosphere, Great service, and Great prices!! I got a chicken tamale for 1.69 and it was off the wall! Highly recommend this place to everyone!
(5)Meghan M.
I'd say it's 4 stars for food, but the cheap price with the authentic options shall bump it up. You can get a meal that will feed you for 2 days for a whopping $5.50 here. That's pretty spectacular, and it tastes damn good too. They are pretty fast, and they have all the fixin's, including several salsas, cilantro, onions, etc. Yum.
(5)Justin T.
I am a Burrito Loco regular.. Everything they make is fantastic, their tacos, tortas, quesadillas, chicken dishes, el hombre, burritos.. I could go on for days Love their sauces and pico.. If you want to add a little spice, then grab some roasted japs. Very friendly staff that is always happy to serve you.. Honestly love this place and anyone considering trying it for the first time, do yourself a favor and check it out
(5)Rennolds O.
I am a California native and lived many years in LA and San Diego. This place is very authentic and very good! The gorditas are fabulous, especially with the nopales (cactus). The lengua taco is the best I've had in years... I'm going back just to try the lengua plate. If you crave authentic Mexican food then you will love this place. This is not a normal sit down type place, but part market part restaurant. Order with the girl at the back by the window and then go to the coolers at the front to pick out a drink. They do have horchata and such they serve from the back (their mango juice is great). When your food comes up you pick it up at the counter then go to the bar to load up on pico de gallo, grilled jalapeños, cilantro, salsas, etc. You pay on the way out at the register in front... It is cheap!
(5)Elise W.
Burrito Loco is a must-stop every time I go to Fayetteville. The food is amazing. The carne asada is delicious, as are the tamales. Good selection of Mexican beer to go with it. Highly recommend.
(5)Staci B.
Very yummy. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Kinda confusing when you first walk in because you order at the window towards the back of the store/restaurant. Food came out pretty fast. My son got the pork tamale and loved it, I had the Plato de burrito Durango, and my hubby had the carne asada. I put tomatillo salsa, pico de gallo, and limes from their salsa bar on mine. We also had two bottled sodas picked out from fridges. All this cost only 21 bucks before tip. Bathrooms are kinda run down looking. Loved this dive and will return :-)
(5)James H.
I got the chance to stop in here for lunch one weekday and I am glad I did. The atmosphere truly is like an authentic Mexican Food restaurant. People are there for the food and not all the bells and whistles most other restaurants try and throw at customers. The ordering process is simple and it does not take long for fresh hot food to arrive at your table. Would recommend to anyone and will hopefully get to return soon.

Real Mexican food (not tex mex). We had Lingua and Pastor Tacos and awesome tamales. This is real mex mex mex food. I highly recommend this for cheap authentic Mexican fast food lovers. It also has groceries and a butcher shop. Just south of Univ of Ar and has parking in the lot out front. We have had lunch and dinner here several times and even got Tamales to go since they were so good. Hand made tamales and awesome tacos. They have a big menu though and even actually had burritos and other tex mex style things but I never get past the tacos and tamales. Give it a try.

I am a snob of a couple different kinds of foods, pizza, Chinese, and mainly, Mexican food. I love Mexican food. I grew up in Southern Ca, where you can get authentic, yummy Mexican food on just about every street corner, so when I say that I know Mexican food, I am not joking. I have been to Mexico, eaten tacos from a street vendor and shared in the aftermath of that choice. To say that El Burrito Loco is anything less than GREAT would be a crime! It is super Authentic, super good Mexican food. The have tacos, and by this I mean real tacos on just a corn tortilla covered in meat. You can get them in Carne Asada, Chicken, Pork, and many other kinds meats that I am not in a rush to try, though have heard that the tongue and the intestine were both amazing. As I type this I am eating a chicken tamale and a steak gordita, both amazing. They have a little salsa bar with roasted jalapenos, Pico de gallo, sautéed onions and peppers, and other sauces you can add. Their tomatillo salsa is amazing! They have great burritos as well, filled with rice, meats, beans, and cheese. There honestly is nothing I can say bad about this place, it is cheap, delicious, and fast. You cannot go wrong eating here!!

Best kept Latino food secret in town... fresh, clean, cheap and delicious. Fresh salsa verde, pico de gallo, amazing tacos (lengua A+), tamales, etc. You will not be disappointed at Burrito Loco - Fayetteville.
(5)Jesse W.
This place is highly addictive. I am stuck on the tacos, they are unreal. My favorites are the Chorizo and Al Pastor tacos but they have many options. All the fixins on the salsa bar, three amazing salsas, cilantro, lime, jalapenos, grilled and fresh onions, pico, lettuce you get the picture. Tamales are excellent as well and so are the quesadillas. I buy the salsa to take home it is so good
(5)Ellen T.
Family run serving great tacos with prices that we can afford. Thanks to this place, we can go out often and eat delicious tacos! I always order avocado as an add on. We are never disappointed with the quality of their food. Make sure you load your plate with all the toppings! Beer and soft drinks in case.
(5)Heather H.
Wow. By far the best mexican food in NWA. Love this place. It reminds me of back in Tulsa where authentic mexican food is everywhere.
(4)Sean P.
Best tacos in town! As authentic as it gets, and always great service, and more than fair prices!
(5)Lesley S.
Very good food. I really like to have chips and salsa with Mexican food...not available here :(. However, the portions are good sized and the pricing is easy on your wallet. There is a nice salsa buffet to load the loco onto your burrito! There are comfy seats and a few tv's to watch the games. A great little Mexican style dive...give it a try.
