This is the only Mexican place that I found that I actually like. I lived in New Mexico for 10 years before moving to Arkansas. Food is always fast and hot. Prices are great! Service is friendly. Sometimes they don't understand what you say when you order but that's not a big deal. I've never had bad service. :) My husband and I go there at least 3 times a month.

I grew up on Tex-Mex, but this place is pretty good. I ordered the Enchiladas Verdes (ordered all 3 enchiladas with chicken instead of the one chicken/one beef/one cheese listed on menu). Verde sauce ... Excellent! Chicken... Excellent! Rice...Excellent (and rice can be tricky)! The salsa reminds me of generic store-bought, but the chips are fantastic and the Appetizer Plate provides a nice sample of different foods (and is so large that it would make a great meal). The service was great and the prices were very reasonable with a large selection on the menu. I would have liked to see tortilla soup on the menu, but all in all I would give this place 5 stars!

We randomly found this restaurant on the side of the road and I am glad we did. The venue is traditional Mexican pride with the colorful tables, chairs, booths, and lights. The waiters are as authentic as the venue. They speak Spanish and English, are happy, and provide fast service. The chips are thicker and filling, be careful! The Queso dip was a thin, very light yellow dip that did not become hard or congeal when eating. For my main meal, I ordered Chile Colorado with beef and chicken, rice, and refried beans. The whole meal was delicious. The beans and rice were not greasy but had exquisite flavor. The Chile Colorado had a smoky sauce and oh my, it was wonderful. I actually would only order the chicken next time because the beef is fattier/ chewier, but the dish was very delicious. I left feeling happy and nourished without feeling oily and gross like some Mexican places. Mom had the street tacos and was not as impressed with them as she thought. Dad had a chicken enchilada, Avery had a wet burrito con pollo (chicken burrito with Queso on top), and Linden had Acapulco chicken (it came in a skillet and had Queso on top). They loved their food as well.

Ate here during a business trip. We asked the woman at the front desk at Holiday Inn conway her favorite spot. She recommended here. She said it's nice because conway is mostly a dry town and they serve alcohol. We were greeted at our table with "margaritas???" yup!! They were great and huge! I got the carman a la diabla (spelling) and it was soo good! Big menu and lots of desserts! And chips and salsa!

Delicious! As good as it gets for the americanized mexican food, and admit it! Though we want authenticity, we Americans want the option to have anything we want doused in cheese dip. Very good priced, wide variety of excellent mexican food. Fresh salsa, perfect chips. Very large portions and great service, the food also came out in record time too (not to mention we ate at the 7:30pm rush)but still very fresh. Decor is a bit on the gaudy side but a very comforting atmosphere. Would def reccomend to anyone and will eat here again anytime we are passing through.

Excellent service and good food. Good crispy chips, spicy salsa, and good white cheese dip. We had the lunch specials. The quesadilla Acapulco had fajita chicken, which was very good. Chicken fajitas were good too with very good sides. We had a couple of special requests which they accommodated quickly! We will go back again when we are driving thru Conway.

Great food and atmosphere. Very reasonable prices! We are from Texas and used to Tex Mex style food - this was still good but different than what we expected. Fast and friendly service - great place for the whole family!

Hands down the best Mexican food in Conway and the surrounding area. I say this a someone who lived in Texas for several years. This is your best bet for great Mexican food in the area. The service is always very friendly and prompt as well.

Not bad. Not stellar. Maybe just an off night. They were really busy! The food was good but not impressive except for their guacamole dip! That stuff was amazing!

I live in Austin and sent here based on the reviews. It was fine but not 5 star material. The verde sauce was ok but the taco meat was not very good. You can't beat the price though - $5.99 lunch specials.

Went a few nights ago with a group of 9. It was about 45 minutes before closing. They did not mind such a large group so late. Food was great as was the service. The only reason I am not giving them a 5 star is because the waiter claimed the soda machine was broken and could no longer give us sodas. Truth is they were already cleaning it and all he would have had to say was that they had already turned it off for the night and started to clean it.

Great enchiladas! Excellent cheese dip! Superb fajitas! OK salsa and chips, but they are free and unlimited. Employees are friendly, and usually remember my beverage and entree preferences.

As you can see, I have rated them "As good as it gets!" for Arkansas Mexican Food. I miss the Tex Mex I grew up on, but for Conway, El Alcapulco has been a great place for me and my 2 kids. Amazingly it's one of the few places that they will always eat everything on their plates. Last night I ordered Guacamole to go. The boys wanted BK and I thought that I would do well to get the Guac and let them have what they wanted. It pains me to report that the Guac was the worst I have ever eaten. I think the avacados must have been soured/spoiled, I am not sure, but it is some of the worst Guac I have ever tasted. I am struggling with it is the right thing to do to take it back and tell them. I tried it again tonight, hoping that it was just me, but it's not. I guess I am going with the intentions of I am hoping that I help them. Maybe someone else ordered it there and it was as bad as mine.

I have to start off by saying yes, this is another Americanized Mexican food restaurants, but I can also say it is most likely my favorite in Conway. My dining companion and I usually frequent a couple of other Mexican restaurants in Conway, and were looking for a new venue to try. I remembered going to El Acapulco a couple times with other friends and suggested we give it a try. Good choice! It was amazing! We went around 2:00 pm so we could still order off of the lunch menu. My dining companion had the Fajitas Jalisco (chicken, steak & shrimp) and I had the fajita chicken quesadilla. The fajitas were an ample portion, especially at a lunch price. He was extra pleased that the shrimp came de-veined, but was a little disappointed at the lack of steak...typical carnivore. The quesadilla was hands down the best I've ever had! The meat was tender and not scraggly and chewy like can be found other places at times. They used melted, shredded cheese as well as cheese dip, adding more flavor. The bean dip/cheese dip was also amazing, thick but not pasty, and not too thin and soupy. My companion had the salsa, and said it tasted fresh and amazing! Definitely a new favorite!

This has to be one of the best Mexican restaurants in the state. Wide selection of food, very good quality, very reasonable prices, and outstanding service. Highly recommended if you are looking for good Mexican food

Their food is great!! They have a large selection and the wait staff is always very friendly. I eat here at least twice a month and I'm always pleased with my dinner. The free chips and salsa are delicious, too.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
