Good que, in nwa. Pulled chicken is to die for. Ribs while tender and great pull and flavor. Pork is flawless. 5 sauces to chose from. I have it at least once a month.

I'm a huge fan of BBQ! So when I heard about this place it was a must do for me. When I walked in, I smelled wonderful smoky yummyness! However the place was empty and nobody was at the counter. I've never been before so had to figure out how to order by myself. Finally someone came from the back and took my order. Must say they had no personality, didn't welcome me, nor help me on which is the best. So I got the sampler platter and a fountain drink. They handed me a cup and walked away!! Again I've never been here and didn't know where the fountain machine was. Which was around the corner hidden. So I got my drink and sat down out front of the counter. I quickly noticed the flavors of BBQ on the tables had dry leftover sauce and not clean. The walls were gross. The booths were gross. Then out comes my food. Holy dryness of major leftovers!! This is award winning?!? I need a chainsaw to cut the meat & chicken and so called cornbread was like a rock. I mentioned to the teenager behind the counter, and was just told sorry, as he walked back in the kitchen yet again. I ate 10% and got up and left. Sad and disgusting. Maybe hire help that cares or at least knows how to clean!

I'm from Memphis so I'm picky about BBQ. When I walked in and saw they have tons of trophies, including some from the Memphis in May BBQ championship, I knew I picked a good place. This place hits the spot. The pulled pork and nachos are fantastic and the potato salad is the best I've had anywhere. They have 6 kinds of bbq sauce to choose from, which I love. You can try something new every time.

This is why I don't like barbecue from most restaurants. Overcooked, under-seasoned meat that has been steam-tabled to death, and the only choice to revive it is predictable uninspired sauces. It is still probably better than most barbecue restaurants, but I'm sorry, there is just better to be found out there.
(2)Gale L.
I thought the food was excellent! The sauces were super yummy and the pulled pork was tender and moist
(4)Jason A.
Meal was great! Potato salad was in my opinion the best I've ever had. The coleslaw was just that and didn't really stand out and maybe that's a good thing. But the reason you come here is for the BBQ. Pulled pork was great! Tender, moist, flavorful. I personally like my meat to have a little more smokey flavor. Now for the sauces, if you can find one you like then you have problems! I liked them all but find my favorite to be the #1 sweet, mild, molasses. I was also surprised by the #6. It was a different flavor but it great! My personal beliefs in any smoked, grilled, roasted meats, are that they should stand alone of their own merit for flavor and that the sauce should only complement them. Whole Hog I highly recommend for anyone who likes BBQ!

Dirty! Dirty! Where is management? Always loved Whole Hog since I lived in Little Rock, AR and we would eat at the original location, but this location is not one I will eat at again. The pulled pork was mediocre, barely warm. My daughter and I had side salads that were not edible, with brown slimy pieces of lettuce. They did exchange them for coleslaw. The potato salad was the best thing on my plate. The six packs that hold the BBQ sauces were crusted over. Yuck! Who wants to touch that? The ladies room had cobwebs. There was no personality from the staff. I know not all this pertains to the food, but if the front of the restaurant doesn't look clean, who knows what goes on in the back. Oh, and the front of the restaurant wasn't even lighted. We almost couldn't find the place!
(2)Karen W.
If you like BBQ, this is the place to go. I had the pulled pork dinner. It came with 2 sides, a dinner roll and 6 different sauces. The potato salad was the best u have ever tasted! It's a good value too. My dinner plus a glass of wine was $13.

My brothers and I hit this place over the weekend. Not much in the way of decor, but it seems that the plainer the BBQ joint, the better the BBQ. That definitely held true here! The ribs and brisket were incredible. There are 6 sauces to choose from, along with a 7th "secret" Devil sauce that you can only get by requesting it at the counter while ordering your food. The sauces are numbered. I LOVED #2 and #3. Their beans were amazing. Tons of flavor with just a little kick. I didn't care for their potato salad - it was a little too thick and funky for me. The next time I go, I will just pass on the potato salad and get a double order of those killer beans!

Hands down some of the best BBQ in the NW Arkansas area (not NW Arkansas area only). What I enjoy most about the Whole Hog is their consistency and simplicity. Every time you come here the pulled pork, brisket and chicken are good, not great, good. This isn't the best BBQ in The South, by any means, but how anyone can complain about the portions you get for the price would baffle me. It's cheap BBQ. Coming here makes lunch easy. There's only a few meats on the menu, your order comes up within in a minute and you could be in and out in 10 minutes if you want. I'd order the pulled pork as the brisket has been too dry for me at times and tasteless. However, between one of the many sauces available you can spice it up for an always filling lunch.

Down the road from the Northwest Arkansas Airport. This place is nestled in a strip mall. Looks like a hole in the wall on the outside but large on the inside. Came in to give it a try after reviewing menu and prices online. I was promptly greeted by several staff at the counter. I ordered what I perceived as the best deal -whole hog platter (online website price that day) and a sweet tea. Side note price online was inaccurate. It was two dollars more than price online that day. The whole hog platter (Brisket, 3 ribs Pulled Pork, Beans, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, and a roll) was ordered and came fairly quick. Each table had choices of sauce with description with 7 usually at the table. The volcano sauce or number 7 was not on the table. The table I was at had 6 sauces. I didn't bother to look at other table to find the missing selection. I elected to try each of the sauce with the meats or by itself. Each container was a bit messy. Descriptions of each sauce 1 through 6 are also available on the website. Number 1 sweet and mild and number 3 tangy and slightly spicier than number 2. Most of the sauce was okay. Number 3 was a mild mild medium at best. Number 5 was earthy and bold. I don't care much for the vinegar or mustard taste in my barbecue sauce so number 4 and number 6 were the least of my palette preferences. I kept most sauce and mixed some sauce to variate the flavors to add to the plater. Sauce selection that I did try was okay. Nothing spectacular or award winning from sauce. The platter was huge as it sounded. My assessment of each item was a mixed bag. The brisket was slightly rare to overcooked tough. Also noted about the brisket was the appearance of a little moisture from sitting in it's juice and pulled out of a pan holding the juice. Tender to slightly overcooked in it's own juice was the brisket. Brisket had a nice dry rib of flavor. The pulled pork was sauced and warm. Full of flavor a good consistent tender meat on the platter. The ribs were mostly tender with a nice rub and glaze coating the ribs. Meat fell off the bone with fair ease. I added a little of the number three sauce to my spicy preference. Baked beans on the dish was generously seasoned with brown sugar and spices. Potato salad was dressed with sour cream and relish. Fair balance to the sweetness of the meat and beans. Coleslaw was fresh and not overly watered down with extras. Coleslaw and potato were some of the better ones I have had tried to date. The roll was warm, sweet, and soft. Service and food was okay overall. This place is good for cheap quick eats. Three stars only. Nothing too remarkable from the meat or sauces. The sides were pretty good. Draw downs on rating a just a tad of cleanliness at the tables and incorrect pricing. This places is about on average with other places I reviewed in Bentonville. I would be willing to give another shot if I ever visit Bentonville again.

For southern BBQ I expected so much more. Came here for lunch and we basically ordered what everyone else was ordering, the chicken sandwich. Please tell me how or why we all got charged different prices. It's clearly advertised for 6 bucks or so. I got chartered for the platter which was 10 bucks and got the same thing and everyone who paid 6. When I asked why the different they said "that's what you got". The food was decent. Nothing to ever really crave or say I want more. The potato salad was very good. The chicken was not that tender or juicy. I expected more because it was spoken so highly about. I will say, they left an awful taste in my mouth when they mischarged me.
(3)Daniel R.
The ambiance wasn't great but the food was absolutely AMAZING! I ordered the beef brisket plate and at first glance thought the serving size was small. However, I had trouble finishing my plate!! The sauces on the tables were a great touch as I had the opportunity to try them out. My favorite is the #4 , which complements the Smokey flavor on the brisket. The place is tucked back in a corner with not much parking. However, I came in at 630pm and had no trouble getting a seat. Friendly service and food came out very fast. I would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back soon!!
(5)Jesse R.
Usually great food. Today our order was taken to the wrong table, picked at and returned to the counter before being presented as our meal. Food is great, but sanitation looks to be a serious issue.

My family's new favorite. They have a beautiful outdoor seating area as well with a pond view. The brownies are incredible- I recommend eating prior to dinner to truly appreciate (before distracting your tastebuds with the delicious assortment of BBQ flavors). All 7 of us favor #5 sauce, but all are worth sampling and fun to mix and make your own (try 5 & 2). The baked beans are better than my mothers and I never thought I'd be able to say that. The pulled pork is pecan smoked and wowed me. The potato salad has no mustard, it's awesome because I'm not big on mustard- it's like none I've had. I dislike coleslaw in general but tried it and it is very good, extremely fresh. My husband was thouroughly impressed. And as always chips are great with bbq. Wish the venue was bigger, they deserve it. I highly recommend, even for those not so interested in a BBQ joint (thats me too). It will leave you with cravings and fill you up without getting you messy. Hours M-S 11-8
(5)Francesca L.
This is more like a cafeteria than an cafe but the pulled pork is great as is the coleslaw and potato salad. They made 6 different types of BBQ sauce, all right on the table for you to try - along with a big roll of paper towels! I tried the pulled chicken the other day for the 1st time - stick with the pork!

I know the Whole Hog brand. This was my first stop at this location; were traveling for the holidays. First, the food: I've been served reheats before and it doesn't bother me at all. We were definitely served reheats today and they were...not good. The brisket was dry & flavorless compared to other locations. The ribs were dry and didn't taste like While Hog ribs. They tasted like Chili's. The flavor was almost char grilled and any real taste came from the sauce. The pulled pork was borderline mushy. No real bark to speak of, either. To top it all, all of the food was lukewarm to cool. Definitely not hot. The service was spotty, too. I ordered a While Hog Platter and 4 bones of ribs. I was charged for a 4 Bone rib dinner, $2 more, and they put no sides on the ticket. Not cool. The topper, though, were the sauce bottles. The tips weren't clean. And we were there at 11 AM. No excuse for this. Overall, bad visit. I'll stick with Little Rock and Springfield, MO. Those places do it right.
(2)Leah K.
Dirty, dirty, dirty restaurant! The entire place is a total eyesore too, it looks like a giant plywood box with tables and chairs. Sorry but if a place cooking and handling my food looks like crap, I'm not putting anything they prepared for me in my mouth! P.S. What's all the fuss about with the potato salad? It's basically sour cream with a few green onions mixed in. Gross!
(1)Marie B.
The aromas hit you when you walk in. Shared the whole hawg platter and it was amazing! The meat is so delicious you don't need any sauce but you have to try them all! The sides were amazing as well. We enjoyed the coleslaw, potato salad, and baked beans. Comfortable and clean atmosphere too.
(5)Scot H.
They claim to be award winning. I came in very hungry. The staff was great. Everyone engaged me in conversation. I took their recommendation, got a sampler platter. The sauces are fantatstic! The pulled pork was okay. The baby backs were pretty good. The brisket was average. The potato salad was ridiculous! It was outrageous. The beans were okay, nothing to brag about. The decor is clean, but bland. There are trophies around, but no smoke house or equipment visible. Its located in a strip mall. Makes one wonder about the "award winning" claim.
(4)Ken S.
What a great surprise! As previous reviewer noted the lower the decor the better the barbecue! Went for the 2-meat platter with beans and potato salad. Also ordered a side of new cheesy corn. Everything was excellent! Loved the potato salad which is heavy on the sour cream! Cheesy corn nice and spicy. I found the best sauces to be mix of #2 and #4. Just the right amount of spice. Perfect on the pulled pork and brisket. Washed it all down with a Shiner Bock. The only thing that would have made for a perfect meal is corn bread instead of the roll. You will not be disappointed if you eat here!
(5)Porntepp U.
I don't even like BBQ very much but Whole Hog definitely hits the spot. All of the sides are awesome, an there are plentiful amount of sauces to choose from if that's your motive. I'm much more of a dry rub rib type of guy whole likes to taste the smokiness of the meat. If you like BBQ you'll love this place. If you don't like BBQ you'll probably still like this place.
(4)Chaz M.
I always get the exact same thing when I come in - the jumbo pulled pork sandwich with cheesey corn (since they introduced it a few months ago). This sandwich has a TON of meat. I usually pull about 1/3 off and eat it separately, or mixed in with the corn. I like all of their six sauces that are on each table, but #6 if my fave. Not sure what it would take to make this a 5-star experience. Maybe higher quality meat? It's 4-star meat as is.
(4)Natalie E.
Best BBQ in town! Whatever you do, you must get their potato salad! It's made with sour cream, and you will never like any other potato salad after trying theirs! PORK and Brisket are best!
(5)Tiffany T.
I do not see what the big deal is. Overpriced reheats, dirty facility, food was generally gross. Seriously. Do yourself a favor, if you decide to try this place, just look closely at the sauce bottles on their tables before you buy anything. See how crusty they are and then decide if you really want to eat there.
(1)Scott L.
Pretty good BBQ. I asked for some burnt ends (which weren't listed on the board). They happily obliged me. The brisket was moist and tasty. The coleslaw was very good too. They had a nice selection of sauces. I tried many of them, but didn't find one to fall in love with. I have had better BBQ, but this was very good. I would gladly stop here again. My buddy had the cheesy corn and pulled pork, and raved about it.
(4)Ej T.
So on a trip to visit family to NWA, I had try some southern BBQ. Overall I was pleased with the quality, portion size, and taste of the food at whole hog. I had the brisket and my wife had the pulled pork. The brisket was moist and seasoned well on its own and I tried a few different sauces (all decent in flavor). I had the potato salad and cole slaw as my sides too. Potato salad was real good, had a ranch flavor to it and was not to mayonnaisey. Cole slaw was solid as well. Pulled pork was good too, tender and tasty. Not too shabby for BBQ on the cheap.
(4)Jared S.
The food is good and service is fast. Not smokey enough for my liking. The part I love about BBQ is the smokey, carmelized/burnt exterior and my plate (the Hawg platter) was mostly missing that. The ribs were for sure the highlight of the meats. The coleslaw and potato salad may have been close to my favorite part. And the sauces. I'll be honest. I think the 6 sauces are a problem. What kind of BBQ place is this? What does is stand for? Having thick sweet molasses sauce and a vinegary one and a traditional tomato on the same table just doesn't seem right. The best BBQ places I've been have a clear identity and they stick to it...not trying to please everyone with a sauce from every region of BBQ in the country.
(3)Mate R.
Solid value. Great good. If we had this in San Francisco, I'd be visiting weekly. I had the brisket, ribs, and sausage. Real barbecue. Nice assortment of sauces. The potato salad was exceptional! I had a double portion. The beans were nice as well. Nice people. Very nice town. I look forward to coming to bentonville & treats like this. I'm definitely coming back to whole hawg.
(4)Amanda G.
I was in Bentonville for work the other week and my coworkers wouldn't let me leave Arkansas without trying Whole Hog Cafe; after a bite of their pulled pork BBQ sandwich I can easily see why! This is one of the best BBQ joints I have ever had the pleasure of eating at. Not to mention - their Mac & Cheese is absolutely phenomenal. If you're in the area and you don't go here, you're definitely missing out!
(4)Randy L.
The pulled pork is very good here and the portions are generous. Nothing fancy but if you're looking for good barbecue you can count on this place for fast, fresh and tasty food. Consistent.
(4)Leslie S.
While I was in town for work, my coworkers sent me to Whole Hog for some local BBQ. Overall, the food was good, and I'd definitely eat here again for lunch, but don't have too high of expectations when you walk in. It's a pretty standard set up - walk up to the counter, order off a big menu board on the wall, and be prepared (I considered ordering a brownie but my order had already been totalled up before I could decide). They assign you a number which is called when your food is ready, and you help yourself to a cup to get a drink while you wait. If you eat in, the food is served in big scoops on a plastic plate, and 6 BBQ sauces are available at your table for sampling. I had the combo plate - pulled pork and brisket - with potato salad and coleslaw. Loved the potato salad - it's a sour cream base with a hint of ranch and some bacon, and the coleslaw was good as well. The pork was alright, and the brisket was more like roast beef than I expected (based on the brisket I've had before in TX), but both were pretty good with some sauce (I dug #2 for the pork and #6 for the brisket). Will definitely eat here again if I'm in town, and I'm glad my coworker recommended it for lunch rather than dinner.
(3)Jennifer G.
OMG!!!! The best BBQ I have had in my life....I had the plate of 4 bones - ribs. Fall off the bone....so flavorful...juicy. hands down the best....I just sat and inhaled! I seriously have never had better ribs. They have 6 kinds of sauce to choose from I loved sauce number 3 - a little bit of a spicy kick to it. I ordered coleslaw and baked beans - both of which were kind of nasty - but the ribs were so good it totally made up for it! I'll give them a pass - you won't want to eat anything else once you have the rib experience anyway!
(5)A S.
Too much self-love in evidence here at the Whole Hog--trophies aplenty, signage declaring themselves state BBQ champs umpteen years in a row. However, the pulled pork and brisket combo plate I received told a very different story. Dried tasteless strands of pork were barely made edible by the 6 different varieties of sauces available (and I tried every single sauce on the table). Brisket looked like oven-roasted sliced beef--good if you like roast beef; bad, if you think this passes as barbecue; sacrilege in the state of Texas, home to the world's best barbecued (i.e. smoked) brisket. About the only memorable part of my meal was the side of potato salad (chunks of potato teased with bits of ham or pork and flavored with dry ranch dressing) and the light, slightly-sweet slaw. Hard to recommend a bbq place solely on the merit of their sides though. I suppose customer service was just okay; the young lady taking my order was a little scatter-brained about the sauce requirements especially since I was dining in. In the end, I felt I was just a number waiting for a generic meal.
(1)Curt W.
It's all good here, but the pulled pork and the selection of sauces set's this place apart. Brisket and beans - dishes I seek out - are average or better, but well worth the price. The service and atmosphere are nothing to brag about but Whole Hog has forged this style intentionally, focusing on the food. My suggestion: Get a few pounds of pulled pork and some of the Jalapeno sausage, add whatever side you favor and carry out.
(4)Richard L.
Love this place. They have a good variety of BBQ available and they have a daily special. I have been here a few times and its great each time with a decent price.
(5)Joseph P.
It's not good. We ordered a strawberry salad, pulled pork, and brisket. The salad wasn't all that bad so you'll see 2 stars on this review. The pulled pork was..as mediocre as any pulled pork you've had elsewhere. The sauces do add some good fun to it so that's nice. The brisket was awful. It brought me back to my middle school cafeteria days, and trust me those aren't moments that I enjoy reminiscing over. I've had good brisket, and the only thing in common with what I got and actually good brisket is that (hopefully) it was from a cow. Service was kind enough, but the food just wasn't good.
(2)Paul W.
What I love about my favorite BBQ joints is the smokey smell for blocks around and when you first open the door you're hit with a wave of delicious smells. But you don't get that with the Whole Hog Cafe. Are they smoking meat in Little Rock and trucking it to Bentonville? Whole Hog Cafe is a nondescript unit in a strip mall with a concrete floor and all of the ceiling panels removed. The dining area is large, filled with inexpensive tables and chairs and the perimeter is decorated with dozens of trophies from BBQ contests. You place your order at the counter and your number is called to pick up your food. After reading glowing Yelp reviews, we had to try WHC while in Bentonville. At 1:00 pm on a Monday there was no line out the door, as one reviewer mentioned. As a matter of fact, the place was pretty quiet. We both ordered pulled pork sandwiches with cole slaw and potato salad. Our order was ready quickly and the food was tasty. But I don't understand the wisdom in serving hot meat on a cold bun. I'd also like to see a wider selection of sides like fries and onion rings. Oh well.
(3)Bruce K.
Five stars! I knew that Northwest Arkansas had excellent barbecue - I'm a big fan of Smokin' Joes - and this is right up there. A slightly more limited menu with just ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket, chicken and pork loin, but all are absolutely excellent. Very well cooked, nice and moist. Side options include baked beans (with meat), potato salad and cole slaw. The beans were nicely spicy and there were nice chunks of potato and yummy herbs in the potato salad. Six different table sauces are labeled clearly so you know what you're putting on your meat. I really liked the "Sauce 6", a mustard based sauce, on my sliced pork loin. My daughter's favorite was the "Sauce 1", a sweet molasses based sauce, on her pulled pork. It's a little cheaper than Joe's, probably because of their food delivery method. Rather than a waitstaff, you queue to place your order at the window and pay for it, then pick up your food when your number is called. Soda fountain and a couple of urns of sweet and unsweet iced tea. It's an okay system.
(5)Bill M.
Somehow I feel like being generous and giving 2 stars. I am very tempted to go with 1 star, but I'll leave it at 1 because I only ate at the Whole Hog up in NW once. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. The BBQ was below average. The sides (beans and potato salad) were poor. The beans were a joke. The potato salad was a little better. The young girl who took my order was totally clueless. She was probably new, and she probably hasn't been a restaurant customer before either. I had to walk her through the whole process. Being a Memphian, and a BBQ expert, my standards are fairly high. But, I rate restaurants on a realistic scale. This place is barely a two-star joint for the US. In Memphis it would be below a one-star.
(2)S E.
The ribs were cooked to death dry ,way to much cinnamon in the dry rub, nasty baked beans. Just because you have awards does not mean a thing when your food sucks . There was only six people in the place eating on a friday night . It took for ever to get our food and when got it .It was not even hot i sent it back and it came out the same way cold . oh well
(1)Steve L.
Ok....so me and my colleagues are from Chicago, so any Tex-Southern BBQ is better than the stuff in the Windy City. That said, we all had the Whole Hog Platter (Brisket, Baby Back Ribs, Pulled Pork Shoulder, Coleslaw, Potato Salad, Sweet Baked Beans and a Role.) All I can say...is awesome. Better brisket than Austin, Texas and the best sour cream potato salad I have ever had. The guys loved the pulled pork and mustard based sauce. I really liked Spicy number 3. A Bentonville, AK must.
(5)Russ M.
I'm sorry to say that I found the Whole Hog Cafe to be a disappointment. After reading some of the other reviews, I thought I was in for a real treat. What I got was a pretty average experience. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad it just wasn't that great. The pulled pork was on the dry side and required the use of sauce to moisten it up. However, the potato salad was pretty good. I'd eat here again, but my expectations wold be tempered.
(3)Chris H.
Great for the price. Especially if you like it souther style with spicy vinegar sauce.
(3)Cecile R.
We dropped by the Whole Hog Cafe to pick up dinner after visiting the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. We called ahead and ordered several slabs of ribs, pulled pork, potato salad and baked beans. We also asked for two different types of sauces (one was hot and the other was regular). We were pleased with the taste of the food that evening. The ribs were delicious and fell off the bone. It was a great ending to a fun day!
(4)Erin A.
Love the pull pork sandwich!! The ribs are also amazingly tender and juicy! Great place with a variety of sauces. Noms
(5)Tony P.
I ordered a pulled pork sandwich, a Whole Hog mainstay sandwich. I ate half of the sandwich and then took a bite of the 2nd half of the sandwich, when I noticed a HUGE spot of mold on the bottom bun, hidden by the pulled pork. I went to the front and showed them the mold and asked them what they thought it was and the lady said its 'Gross Mold'. She called up the Manager and when he saw it he also said that is was Mold. He asked me - 'Do you want your money back'? Really - you had to ask that question? I learned a few days later from a friend that she also received a MOLDY sandwich. Sorry to see a great restaurant have their business slow down so much they feel compelled to sell MOLDY bread. I will NEVER go back to Whole Hog.
(1)David F.
Not bad bbq, but the potato salad rocked! Ribs were a bit dry so kind of disappointed with all the hype of this local place.
(3)Alice S.
Very disappointing. This was our first and last visit. Got the beef brisket. It was cold and had no taste. Used lots of sauce just to make it edible. BBQ sauce - several varieties - on the table, but the squeeze bottles were sticky. Please wipe them off. Yuck! Cole slaw and beans were pretty good. Bus boy was slamming empty plates and silverware onto his tray as he cleared the tables like he hated to be at work. $26 for two of us at lunch. Way overpriced for a place where you have to stand in line to order your food.
(1)Ryan H.
It's never disappointed me. Fabulous food everytime! Always busy. Always difficult to find a table but I'm not complaining. And SUPER-cheap lunch prices.
(5)Daryl B.
Just had Friday lunch and the line was out the door, but the service was quick. We all had variations of the pulled pork and it was the best I have had in a long while. Sides were average but the place was comfortable and even though a large crowd was there noise was not excessive. A definite go to stop for BBQ, at least the pulled pork. Every table has an excellent selection of sauces that will take you all across the BBQ world.
(4)Nicky D.
I really like this BBQ place. Lots of choices of sauces and just good food. Simple - not fancy but great environment!
(5)Bree R.
This is really a complaint. Because of Whole Hog, I cannot enjoy other BBQ anymore. Whole Hog is THE apex BBQ joint, in all the world. If BBQ places were sharks, Whole Hog would be a Great White. The absurdly large collection of trophies in the restaurant is well earned. I sampled the pulled pork and the brisket - the only downside is that eventually I got full. Each table has a selection of six awesome types of sauce, so if you prefer a vinegar or mustard sauce over a sweet molasses sauce, they've got you covered.
(5)Cassie M.
Great BBQ. Large portions. The pulled pork sandwich is the best. Piled high with meat, tasty and tender. You have your choice of 7 sauces all labeled and on each table but I prefer mine dry thanks. It is that good. I am a mustard based potato salad lover but the german potato salad is decent. Skip the salad and beans. I tried some jalapeno sausage on my last visit and it was really good. Not sure how anyone could eat a whole one though. The brisket is always tender and good. This is a busy place especially for lunch but the line moves quick. you order and pay at the window and usually before you can get your drink, your order is ready. Great place to eat lunch during the week and get back to work.

I'm waffling between a 3 and 4 star, but because the meat is supposed to be the star I'm settling on a 3 - I'd do 3.5 if I could. I've been to Bentonville a few times on business and always wanted to try this place, this week was the first time that I was able and I was excited. I rolled in close to closing time ( 7:45 pm ) and it was empty... That's not good I thought. There was some confusion on my ticket and I had to produce my receipt to prove that I ordered what I did - not so impressed. Despite nobody being there I was rushed to order, although luckily I knew mostly what I wanted. I got my meal, carry out, and it seemed a bit light but it was very inexpensive. 5 minutes later at the hotel I plowed in. The pulled pork was quite tender and well cooked, but you'd be hard pressed to imagine it was smoked. I tasted practically no smoke and no rub on the meat. There was no smoke ring or real flavor to the meat on it's own. Once the sauce ( #3 ) was added it was quite good, but to me that's not great BBQ. The sides, on the other hand, were amazing. Easily the best baked beans that I have ever had anywhere. The potato salad was really really tasty, albeit a wee bit rich - but that's an invalid complaint at a BBQ joint. All in all, if I could get the pulled pork from Smokey Joe's and the sides from Whole Hog, that would be a 5 star meal.

Whole Hog, how I miss thee! If I could have, I would have gone to Whole Hog every single day when I used to live in Bentonville. Unfortunately, as a product of SoCal, I had to watch my waistline. Now that I am back in SoCal, I regret not eating there everyday! :( After moving back to LA, I'm realizing that there is no place from here to SD that can even compare to Whole Hog. All of their meats are amazing and perfectly smoked. They have sandwiches, salads, combo plates, and wide array of sides. Their brownies generously sized and to die for! They have a "6-pack" of house-made sauces sitting on each table for you to play around with. There's an extra spicy one you can ask for from the counter as well. Not sure what it's like now, but it was always crowded at lunch! So here I am, writing this review, dreaming about pulled pork... I wish they shipped via FedEx :( For those of you going to B'ville for a meeting - be sure to stop by here before your 30 minute with the buyer. You'll be a lot happier no matter the outcome.

Two stars for the sweet tea to which I had to add sweetener (this is the south, right?). Three stars for the brisket which was flavorful but dry. Four stars for the very tasty potato salad (get it instead of the coleslaw). Five stars for the pulled pork and the house-made sauces which were the real standouts of my meal at Whole Hog. Fast service. Very casual dining. Stick to the pork and you'll be pleased as punch.

Highly recommended by a friend since I was only in the area for 2 nights...we came right be before they close (7:50pm, didn't realize they closed at 8:00pm) The pulled pork was good but brisket and ribs were so so (little too dry for me). I guess it's more a personal preference. they do have a lot of bbq sauce to choose from.

Oh my gosh - I finally got to eat here. My brother lives in the area and he sent me a t-shirt from Whole Hog Cafe so I've been limited to smelling the t-shirt for a while. Then when I went to visit, we got busy and forgot to go so I could try it (that happened twice!). SO this visit, I decided I was going even if I had to go by myself! And that was not a problem. Oh my the aroma was wonderful. I tried the small order of ribs. Oh my they were soooo good. I didn't add any extra sauce either. These were big, lots of meat and disappeared quickly. I guess I'll be going up to visit more often now.

The best BBQ is NWA is Y BBQ is Springdale, but this is a close second. I enjoy the pulled pork on a potato. My wife says the BBQ nachos are great too. Until Jack Stack ventures south from KC (Mmmm... Burnt end stew...) then I'll happily eat here.
(3)Christine S.
mmmm..... yum. I eat vegetarian about 80% of the time (and no red meat) so I don't often visit a BBQ joint, but I happened to be in Bentonville this week with a co-worker who suggested the Whole Hog Cafe. So glad we went there! I had the Whole Hog plate with pulled chicken, potato salad (beware the pork if you don't eat red meat!), coleslaw and a dinner roll. I tried all 6 sauces - spicy, mustardy, molasses-y, sweet and vinegar-y... each a unique flavor. My personal fave - being a fan of spicy food - was #3, a traditional tomato-based sauce that was tangy and hot! This will be a plate-cleaning experience for you - and at just $7, a great deal too. Looking forward to my next opportunity to visit.

A must when in northwest arkansas. Highly recommend the chopped chicken plate and the brisket. I wish they had better side dishes. Their signature sauces are amazing.
(4)Mac S.
Probably the best BBQ place I've ever ate at. I'm a huge sauce fan and this joint has 7 custom flavors. Great beans, slaw and mash potatoes. Excellent.
(5)Jim S.
Food is great at times and mediocre at others. Love the pulled pork other items can be just okay. Brought my son in and he thought it was the best barbecue ever, next time he wished we would have went elsewhere.
(3)Richard C.
went to this place for lunch on the recommendation from the guy at the front desk at my hotel... it was a short walk away, so why not.... Oh boy... the BBQ was awesome. I love BBQ and am pretty picky with the tenderness of the meat. this was heaven on a bun. no wonder they have all those trophies...
(4)Isaac C.
Winner of the first annual NWA vs. KC BBQ Taste Off (by invite only). Defeated Oklahoma Joe's by a single (anonymous) vote. Limited side dishes but all done well. Tough to go wrong with anything on the menu, though the baby backs are my favorite. (review based on 10+ visits) Price Per Person: - $7-$15 Recommended Dishes: - Baby Back Ribs; Pulled Chicken; Potato Salad Best for: - Lunch or Take Out
(5)Meghann S.
I love the casual atmosphere! I was happy to see that I could get a small portion of meat without the sides for a great price!

I have never been a fan of BBQ. That said, I LOVED the BBQ here. I had heard about this place through some coworkers and I was curious to try the local cuisine. Overall, I was very happy with my experience. Ambiance: Down to earth. Casual. You order at the counter, they call your number. I came here for dinner. I get the feeling this is more of a lunch place, than dinner. The entrance area is adorned with trophies won for its BBQ over the years. Food: The BBQ is out of this world. No joke. The ribs...oh my...buttery satisfaction. I think the last time I had ever eaten ribs was when I was at least ten years ago. The next day I found myself dreaming of Whole Hog Cafe ribs. The lady at the counter gave me samples of every meat they served. I am told their specialty is pork, but I thought the ribs were the best. I liked how their were several different kinds of sauces we could dip the meat in. Not too much a fan of the sides. Apparently the potato salad is supposed to be their specialty. I didn't care for it too much. Too much mayo for my taste and it seemed to lack flavor. The bread side wasn't special. The coleslaw...same thing. I guess customers come here for the meat...not so much the sides. Service: Fantastic. What place gives samples of ALL their meat? Food came out quick. Price: Very reasonable for the meat. I don't think I'd order the sides again. Overall, Whole Hog Cafe has some excellent BBQ. I'm a fan!

After finding out I was headed to Bentonville, my BBQ loving friends all said I had to check out Whole Hog while I was in town. They insisted on it, threatened me with bodily harm if I didn't, and kept hyping up the pulled pork and potato salad like they were the owners. So I went and I hate to say it: we're not in NYC anymore. But not in a good way. See, NYC has some EXCELLENT BBQ restaurants. (Seriously, stop laughing) Blue Smoke, Hill Country, and Dinosaur spring immediately to mind and I'd eat at any of those every day of the week and twice on Sundays. The Whole Hog Just doesn't compare. Now, don't get me wrong, it's good. Just not great, except for the potato salad. That lives up to the hype. But the pulled pork, ribs, and brisket that I had all fell off the average tree and hit every branch on the way down. Maybe they had a bad batch of pigs and cows that day. Or maybe it's time to head to Blue Smoke...
(3)Lynn W.
Best place for consistently tasty ribs and pulled pork in the area
(4)Jason M.
The food was good. The sauce is great with six to pick from up. Only limitation is the side items, There are very few.
(4)Sharona C.
great food!

Good BBQ, iffy service. I think good food is always worth the effort. Sometimes getting your food in a reasonable manner is an effort at Whole Hog Cafe, but when you do get it, it's always great. For the BBQ, of note are the pulled pork and sliced brisket, both of which are among the best I've ever tasted, with or without the six sauces they offer on each table. The chicken is good, but not notable. As for sides, the potato salad is wonderful. It leans more towards the southern sour cream style, which I prefer. The beans and slaw are good, but the dinner roll will always be left on my plate. The place smells drool-worthy when you walk in, which puts you in a great mood, but the lunchtime counter service is poor, which knocks you right back out. Sometimes order takers are short, and seemed stretched thin. 'Rude' may be too strong of a word for most visits, but would be fair for some. It's a shame -- the BBQ is so good.
(4)Solomon M.
In the battle of good vs. great bbq, Whole Hog definitely falls into the former. What it definitely has going is great prices. I have tried almost everything on the menu here. Here is my order of preference for the sandwiches and platters: pulled chicken, pulled pork, smoked sausages, brisket. The chicken and pork are usually moist enough when eaten warm (not if you plan on taking out and having it at home). Smoked sausages are good, but get old really quickly. The brisket is just plain dry and horrible - not recommended at all. If you do get it, however, make sure to drown it in one of their six bbq sauces, which I thought was a very good selection. The brownies are good though, and so is the sweet tea. The staff is usually nice as well. And the end of the day, Whole Hog is a good place, but not that great considering I can get better bbq in NYC (of all places), which does sound a little sad for them.
(3)Dustin L.
Great BBQ. I always make sure when I'm visiting home to come back to this place. I never step outside the whole hog platter. Great potatoe salad!
(4)Kristin S.
I'm not from the South, so maybe I don't know really great BBQ, but I can say that Whole Hog was some of the best, if not the best I've ever had. No frills, no gimmicks, just tender pork, piled high and a window full of trophies and ribbons in case you need someone to tell you how good it is. You order at the counter, get your number called and take your tray to one of the many tables with rolls of paper towels and 6 different, vinegary BBQ sauces in the center. I didn't want my pulled pork sandwich to ever end. The vinegary coleslaw on top added so much FLAVOR instead of the mayo-based, tasteless junk I'm used to. If I'm back in the area, I know where I'll be headed.
(5)Darren F.
This is the best BBQ I have had yet in the area. We always do carry-out. So I don't know anything about the dining exp. We were slightly disappointed with our last carry -out seeing that they left out a couple of side dishes. But a phone call later they took our name down for a free meal next time we came in. (Will see how that works). Their sauce selection is excellent if you like a wide variety. UPDATE: Went in and had a sit down meal last week sometime. Mentioned that we hadn't received a couple of sides last trip. They gave us 2 sides and some chicken to make up for it. A+ service IMO. Thx guys:)

Always a sucker for great BBQ, I was struggling to find a place in NW Arkansas. I was introduced to Whole Hog and I haven't found many to match it. Ribs, pulled pork, brisket, chicken...mmmm. I think the best part of Whole Hog is that you have 6 sauces on your table to choose from. That gives you so many different varieties to tease your stomach and mouth with! There isn't much of a wait staff. You pay at the window, get your own drinks (I must say they have Memphis style sweet tea!!!!), and napkins, fighting utensils, and everything else you need is by the drinks or on the tables. For this area, Whole Hog is one of the best places around. The only issues seem to be with when they are open. I've gone by at 830pm and they are already closed. In an area consisting of numerous towns, Bentonville/Rogers/Springdale, etc, You would think places could stay open until 10p or 11p.

I was in Bentonville for work and was looking for places to eat. I read the reviews on the Whole Hog Cafe and decided to try it. It was hard to find it because their sign wasn't lit up at night. As I drove by I thought they were closed, but they were not. I tried their 1/2 and 1/2 of chicken and pork I believe, with a side of beans, cole slaw, and bread. The beans were too salty, and their sauce was too salty as well. I tried their most popular sauce but was not a fan of it. I liked the food without the sauce. The young lady who was helping was not very nice. She looked like she could have cared less that I was in there. When I asked about what the different sauces were she just pointed to them in front of her register. I thought she could have said something, but that was her. When I got my meal she didn't put any utensils in or napkins. How did she expect me to eat this food? The food was okay, but service was poor, so I give them a 3. I will not be going back there again, and it's not one I would recommend to other employees when they go out to Arkansas.
(3)Ed C.
Great place for BBQ just around the corner from my office. The meats are good not great but the potatoe salad is fantastic. This is our goto place for catering lunch events.
(4)Corey O.
I am terribly tempted to demote a star from this. Come on! what kind of BBQ restaurant gives you enough sauces to COMPLETELY change what you ordered. Choose buddy! What type of place are you? A Southern BBQ joint? Texas BBQ? KC BBQ? Carolina BBQ?? That being said. Make your choice and it was pretty good BBQ. Much better than anything in town. For that, you get to keep your 4th star.
(4)Anton G.
I've had their pulled pork and it was absolutely sublime! Tender, moist, incredibly delicious. The choice of sauces on each table (numbered 1 through 6) is spot-on. They round up the flavor in a fantastic way. Here's how they describe 'em: No. 1: Sweet, mild, molasses. No. 2: Traditional tomato, vinegar, slightly tangy. No. 3: Same as No. 2, but much spicier! No. 4: Traditional Southern vinegar & spice. No. 5: Sweet, heavy, molasses. No. 6: Rich mustard & vinegar, Old South favorite. "Volcano": Available at the counter. The potato salad wasn't bad, if unmemorable, but who cares! Decor is also politely absent, with gigantic BBQ cook-off prizes lining up the walls and the floor. But, beer is available and so is a small patio, so what more do you need? Definitely don't miss out on this culinary gem if you happen to be in this part of the country.

This is the best barbeque that I've found in all of Arkansas, if not the world. I really don't know what it is, but the food is spectacular and keeps you coming back for more. In fact, it was very difficult for me to go anywhere else in Bentonville / Rogers area during my most recent stay - the food here is so good! If you're in the area and eat meat, you have to go! I would recommend: - try all the sauces and find your personal favorite. The sauces vary in taste explosion based upon what meat you're eating, but my personal all-around favorite would have to be #5 - the Southern favorite. Nice blend of spicy pow and great texture to cover up that brisket. - get some variety on the meat. I would encourage a move away from one of the monster sandwiches just because you're only going to sample one type of meat and then you're going to be full. Go for something in which you can try a bit more. It's all great quality. - the potato salad is awesome! (I would actually go here to just have the potato salad, to be honest.) - the cole slaw is awesome! not too wet or dry, with just the right amount of flavor mixture and deliciousness. - rolls. meah. you can skip the rolls. This is one area that needs improvement. How about some cornbread or various types of rolls on the menu? That would be a nice improvement. And rolls = margin if sold separately! Only word of warning: you're going to become addicted. Maybe you'll move to Bville just for this place. Or maybe not. But watch out if you come for lunch, it's going to be packed!
(4)Cherrie C.
A coworker took me here in January and I've been back every time I'm visiting Bentonville. Everything's good, but the most awesome thing is their pulled pork. Tender, juicy and flavorful. You get a choice of 6 different sauces; sweet, spicy, vinegery and any combination there of.

In a quest to find decent food options in Northwest Arkansas, my colleagues and I found an unassuming BBQ joint in a strip mall near our hotel. Well, we didn't really *find* it, so much as it was recommended to me by a friend. When you pull into the parking lot, the smell of smoked meat permeates your senses. I mean, sure, you could pipe that smell out so people can walk in, but it's usually a good sign. An even better sign is when you walk in and see trophies along the walls. Granted, we didn't bother to see what they were for, but we assumed they were for award-winning BBQ. It's like walking into your friend's finished basement parlor, except without the mildewy smell. I ordered the platter, which I recommend doing, especially if you don't know exactly what you want. It's a lot of food, so if you feel you can't finish, choose your battles wisely. Pulled pork and brisket, among other things, are great. At each table, you can choose from six different hot and sweet sauces, all of which are good in their own ways. Combine the food with a bucket of domestic or premium bottled beer, and you're good to go. Definitely a spot to hit up when you're in the area.
(4)Clayton P.
Bomb bbq! Amazingly great pulled pork with 7 tasty sauces to choose from. When you sit down to eat you will only find yourself with 6 as the 7th , volcano, must be asked for at the counter (and you must show your ID to get the sauce -- kidding). Might have been some of the best potato salad I have ever had and the cole slaw was solid. And for me to say cole slaw was solid say something because I am not a big fan of most cole slaw. This will certainly be a regular lunch spot for future biz trips town here. And thank gosh I can only come to this place on biz trips. If I lived here the Whole Hog would have a large negative impact on my weight and health.
(4)Murray W.
If you are in Northwest Arkansas and you are looking for great Barbecue, this is the place. Check out Fridays when the special is pulled rib sandwiches. Yes, that is what I said... Pulled rib sandwiches. Do yourself a favor and check out my very favorite barbecue joint in Northwest Arkansas!
(5)Eric K.
I ain't from around these here parts and when I stumbled upon The Whole Hog in Bentonville I was pleasantly surprised. Having been to the "Hog" in Little Rock years ago I recalled the tasty pork treats and yummy sides. The Bentonville location didn't disappoint. I had the ribs (with all 6 sauces) beans, and slaw. All tasty and all reasonably fresh. Service (it's a quick serve location) and atmosphere were meh, but it was 4pm on a Monday. Eat more pig!
(4)Jeff T.
This is the worst Tasting food I have ever experienced. I do not understand all the other good reviews. Prices are absolutely ridiculous. Smokin' Joes is way better and much cheaper.
(1)Jay W.
Was here on a business trip - walked from the hotel to the Whole Hog Cafe. I got the Whole Hog Platter, which included ribs, brisket, pulled pork, potato salad, slaw and beans. These ribs were some of the best I've ever had, the brisket was fantastic, and the pulled pork was delicious - the selection of sauces on the table allowed me to mix and match till I got the right mixture. I liked the #3 and #5, vinegar-based spicy and sweet.
(5)sanfit t.
I'm visiting my friend in bentonville - and he took me to this place. It's awesome... Five Stars... Favorite things: - BBQ ribs.. we bought the full slab with potato salad and cole slaw... the bbq ribs were delicious and fall off the bone.. - pulled pork -- they were tender and tasty - accepts all kinds of credit cards - outdoor sitting - they have patio where you can sit down and enjoy the scenery - they have six type of sauces on the table with various types. you can even mix and match to create your own... least favorites: - when we were there, the waiter didn't clean half of the table - there were still full of plates... don't know if this was a one time thing
(5)Maren O.
So good. The ribs were amazing, brisket was tasty, and the pork just melted. I grew up on German potato salad, so to come across theirs was like a walk in heaven. I like the different bbq sauces at the table. If you don't like cole slaw ask for your sandwich without! Very casual atmosphere, don't expect the Ritz but your mouth will thank you!
(4)Arnold T.
Way overbilled! I've heard a lot of people get excited about this place, but honestly, I have no idea why. Maybe they haven't tried many other places. The food was good but not exceptional. I like Dickey's and Smokin' Joe's better. Probably won't be back.
(2)Charlie M.
Awesome BBQ, great sauces, lots of good choices for sides. Get the half chicken--you will not be disappointed.
(5)Dane Z.
Whole Hog Cafe has the BEST BBQ in NWA. They are also HUGE military supporters, and for that, they get 5 stars! :)
(5)R H.
Not the best in Arkansas, but by far the best BBQ in N.W.A.! Pulled pork, Smoked Sausage, Baby Back Ribs, Beef Brisket. Everything I've eaten there was well above average BBQ, and reminds me of home.
(4)Brian R.
Best in AR hands down....Avoid the sausage, but the rest is good. Pulled pork is great, chicken is tender, brisket doesn't even need BBQ sauce
(5)Jessica B.
Whole Hog is pretty good. They have a great Pork-Pulled Salad. You can get it with the sauce on, or add your own at the table. I'd advise to stay away from the lunch hours, tables seems to always be dirty due to limited staff. And the Rogers location is very bad! Very limited parking. Oh, the brownies rock!
(3)Alex A.
Best BBQ in NWA. Tons of sauces.
(4)Doreen D.
Yummy BBQ. This place is not fancy by an means. When you walk through the door all tables in vision were cluttered with previous eaters trash which was a bit of a bummer but easily overlooked when you look at the menu. Simple food and quick. We go a variety of meat, pork and sides. On our list was the full rack of ribs, Beef brisket, chicken and Sausage links with sides of Potato Salad, Slaw and beans. My favorite was a surprise, at the last minute I got a Jalapeno Cheddar link that was to die for. Great texture to it with the slight hit of spice and little pockets of cheese the never overwhelm. Yum. Would have ordered more of these if we did not have so much food on the table already. Ribs and chicken were goo. Really like the #3 sauce. Would come back again next time I am in town.
(4)Jeff G.
POSSIBLY THE BEST RIBS AND POTATO SALAD IN THE WORLD! I got hooked on Whole Hog Cafe in Little Rock. I live in Illinois, and was happy to see that there was a Whole Hog Cafe in Bentonville (I checked prior to my visit). I went to Famous Dave's tonight since its right across from the hotel I'm at, and I ate at WHC already this week. Let me tell you, the is no comparison between FD's and WHC. Famous Dave's used to be my favorite, until I found WHC. The ribs are so tender and taste great, their potato salad is also the best I've ever had. Service is quick, even tough it's self service. The food has been consistently good at every WHC location I've been to.
(5)Myrta H.
Awesome BBQ. I was sad when the Rib Crib closed but was happy to find the Whole Hog Cafe on my most recent trip back. I ate here 3 times on my last visit and will eat here again in the coming months. This will be on my must eat at least once list with every visit. :) I had the sample and enjoyed it for lunch the next day!
(4)Michelle K.
Great BBQ and Prices. I'm from Alabama so I do take my bbq seriously :O)
(4)Busy L.
It was OK, not great. I think Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse and Rochester, NY to be much better. Got the combo platter which had ribs, pulled pork and brisket. Not alot of flavor nor any evidence of smoke ring. I don't particularly like a heavily smoked BBQ but didn't taste much at all. They had 6 sauces plus volcano and they were very good. I think a good BBQ shouldn't really need a lot of sauce. I was a little disappointed after reading the reviews and hoped it would be better. The potato salad was very good along with the cole slaw and beans. Had a brownie too which was homemade and pretty good.
(3)chad b.
Great BBQ but a bad location. In a strip mall but don't be deceived. Mostly a lunch time type restaurant. There really isn't anything but traditional BBQ on the menu so don't expect any wierd and wacky stuff. Just good beef and pork. Their coleslaw is awesome.

After a little disappointing Thai last week here, on recommendation from coworkers I walked across the stree to the WHC for a little BBQ; knowing yesterday I was going to do this, I Yelped it and made a point to try the 'volcano'--see below. The Whole Hog is conveniently located for like travelers, within walking distance of four or more hotels surrounded by the likes of Braums, Denny's, Waffle House and Mickey Dees (the latter I'm actually fond of)--handy without a car and even more convenient when weather threatens like today and minimal time in transit keeps you dry and warm. I tried the BBQ salad with pulled pork ($4.99) that was pretty good, save the lack of iceberg lettuce. A little varied greens would have made is a tad better--don't kid yourself: the salad is lettuce and your choice of meat. I used ranch on the whole thing, then 1/2 sauce #2 (traditional tomato, vinegar, and slightly tangy) and the other 1/2 sauce #4 (traditional Southern vinegar and spice). Both sides were equally excellent and the combi of the sauces and ranch was particularly good; meat was also decent, though a little more quantity would have been nice. The folks I went with split the $11 Whole Hog Platter---you'd have to be pretty robust to eat that by itself: they both seemed to agree the pulled pork was best, followed by the ribs then the brisket. I also ordered a side of beans ($1.89) which were good plain, better with #6 sauce (rich mustard & vinegar), and best when I splashed some "Volcano" into it. I also tried the Volcano by itself by dipping a piece of lettuce in it; while you'll definately notice the sting, peppery-chili flavoring, and night-and-day hotness from any other sauce, it's not a Dave's Insanity Sauce hot: it's good, but it's best not used by itself. Contrary to others who didn't notice, the joint serves beer by the bottle ($2.50 for domestics) or by the bucket ($10/six domestics), about 20% when by draft--there is also wine by the glass but that wasn't sampled. I just got a soda which was honor's system using a fountain off to the side, which I actually liked. Place is big inside and I imagine even when full there's still plenty of moving-around space and little waiting for tables. You walk-up order and wait about 1-2 minutes for your grub and self-serve; place is bussed for cleaning and it looks (based on dirty tables) that during lunch the place is probably fairly busy. The restaurant is at the end of a strip mall, so there's plenty of parking. Heard the brownies are good too...maybe try those next time. Original re view, started and posted but not nearly finished in the Spring 09. 11/22 update minimal...

Whole Hog is much better than average BBQ. I've eaten here several times and have never had a bad meal. One of my favorites!
(5)Jim B.
Good BBQ. I went for lunch and had pulled pork, ribs, coleslaw and beans. The pulled pork was good when I added their sauces (2 & 4 were my favorites), ribs were great and the beans were excellent.
(3)Josie M.
if there's only one cuisine that san francisco falls short, it's bbq. thank goodness for work related travel - i've found the spot to cure my quarterly cravings. best bbq i've ever had in large part to the selection of sauce, beans soaked in molasses, perfect cole slaw, and of course the meat - juicy ribs and smokey chicken are my winners. pass on the beef brisket. a must try for meat lovers who are out in rogers to pay homage to walmart.
