Mediterranean food is my favorite, and I was stoked about this place! Fairly good reviews, convenient location, not too expensive. It is very hard to find baba ganoush in this area so I was really looking forward to it. We went for lunch on Thursday, August 13, 2015. We ended up getting the Meza Platter, which was hummus, baba ganoush, and we subbed dolmades for the goat cheese. It came with pita. The baba ganoush was pretty good with a light smokiness to the eggplant, and the dolmades were great--fairly acidic as opposed to creamy, which is just how I like it. That is where the redeeming qualities ended. The pita was super dense and was clearly not made in-house, plus it had an acrid burnt taste. I ordered extra tzatziki just to cover the bitterness (and the tzatziki was excellent!). My husband ordered the lamb gyro platter and I ordered the Mediterranean pasta. As soon as the waiter sat my bowl of pasta on the table and walked away, I turned to my husband and said, "This pasta is overcooked. I haven't even tasted it yet and I can see that it's mushy. I hope I'm wrong." I was not wrong. The pasta was bland and mushy as if it had been sitting in warm water since long before I arrived (which is weird because they had only just opened for the day). It was basically flavorless except for an inordinate amount of black pepper. Apologies to anyone else in the area that wanted pepper that day, because they used it all on my pasta. I ended up telling the waiter I was unhappy with it, and I had it removed from the bill. My husband and I ended up sharing his lamb gyro plate. The lamb was dry and extremely salty. It was just not good at all. The reason I gave only one star, however, is not because of the flavors or food preparation. No, I won't be going back because within about twenty minutes, my husband and I started throwing up and it did not stop until about 12 hours later. It was horrible and since I don't want to pray for the sweet release of death again anytime soon, I won't be returning.

Service is SLOW. Food is very good. Don't come here if you are starving. Dinner they give free pita bread but lunch you'll have to order it as apetizer. The owner manager is a guy who sits outside or near the counter. There is only one waiter on the five times I came here. On all occasions the waiter was slow. I don't blame him if he is swamped and boss not helping out. I come here for the food and already expect slow service. I recommend getting their lamb dishes. Lamb gyros or lamb chops are very tasty.

Vivace is a sort of confused restaurant with mostly Mediterranean items on the menu but presents itself like an Italian restaurant. For example, you'll find eggplant parmigiana and ravioli on the menu. You'll also get oil and vinegar with your pita bread. I have nothing against fusion but this is not really that. I got the Lamb Gyro ($14) which is a HUGE portion. It's presented open-faced but there's so much meat that you wouldn't be able to fold the pita bread in half. Just eat it with your fork and knife. It also comes with a Greek side salad with feta and an olive. The meat actually tasted pretty decent. My side of tabouli ($7) was really large. Because it falls under the salad, and not side, category, it ends up being the size of an entree. It's enough to share between four people. Taste wise, it was too tart. What irked me was how long it took for the lamb gyro to come out. It was about 10-15 minutes after other people in my group received their food. Our waitress said it would take longer but I didn't hear them cook the meat until maybe a couple minutes before I got the dish. That must mean they either had problems retrieving and/or prepping the lamb. If you're not feeling the food here, there's also Thai, Mexican, and Korean. I've never tried any of them so I can't vouch for the quality. Vivace is a nice place for large groups though with the white tablecloths and intimate setting.

Who would think you could find such amazing Mediterranean cuisine in an unassuming mini stripmall in a southern city like Bentonville. After reading the reviews, a co-worker and I decided to try this place out and we were blown away with the amazing flavor and quality of food this restaurant had to offer. Everything here was authentic and homemade and full of flavor. Also, the portion sizes were very generous so you certainly wouldn't leave here hungry. I opted for the meza platter which consisted of hummus, baba ganoush, falafel and stuffed grape leaves, served w/ warm grilled pita and I added on a side of the roasted potatoes. With so much food I'm surprised I ate it all, but every bite was so good and I didn't want any of it to go to waste. And it is hard to pick a favorite out of the platter but I did love the falafel...it was fried just right and the tzatziki sauce it came with was the perfect compliment. In summary, Vivace is as good as it gets when it comes to Mediterannean food. Quality, service, portions and price, this place nails it (and not to mention they are BYOB!)...seriously can't get much better than that. I'm so glad we decided to grab dinner here while we were in town. And if my travels ever take me back to Bentonville, I know I will certainly stop by here for another delicious meal.

I wish I could give it a -1 star.. I love Greek food, hummus is my favorite dish, however, this SAD excuse of a "restaurant" is DISGUSTING. I ordered a chicken kabob which comes with a side of rice.. I was halfway into my meal when a small curly piece of red hair got stuck in the back of my throat. There was yelling in the back which was very unpleasant, and the cherry on top, there was a COCKROACHES everywhere! My silver wear was greasy, my drink had black specks floating in it, and the trash in the bathroom looked as if it hadn't been taken out in days, and the floor was filthy. DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE!!!!!

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Bentonville. The lamb patter is amazing and please please get the potatoes as your side.

We feasted on appetizers and everything was amazing. The falafel is probably my second favorite of all the states and countries I've been to. Their tempura fried mushrooms, grilled veggies, avocado caprese, olives and cheese plate, and fresh pita hit the spot after a long day. When you want to treat yourself to amazing decadent food, come here! (I'm not from Arkansas, but would come back just to have dinner here.)

Living in San Francisco, I readily have access to wonderful food from the Eastern Mediterranean, whether Greek, Syrian, Lebanese, or Israeli. Vivace could hold it's own with any of them and find a loyal following. There were too many wonderful menu selections, so I ordered more than I could eat at one sitting, but now I'm looking forward to my left-overs of hummus, baba ganouj, dolmada, falafel, roasted potatoes, and the most incredible lamb gyros I've had in a long time. An added bonus: it's strictly BYOB! NWA would do well to support this local gem in lieu of the fast food and corporate restaurant chains polluting the W. Walnut St. / SE Walton Blvd. corridor. In addition to the authentic and superior quality of the food, the service was warm and inviting. I never felt rushed, and my server (Kamel) was more than gracious to chat about how the food was prepared. If I could pack them up and take them back to San Francisco, I would gain an awesome Mediterranean restaurant, but Bentonville would be all the poorer to loose this treasure.

AMAZING AND AUTHENTIC! The Meza Platter is a great appetizer sampler, but it's big enough to share. If you must pick just one, I'd recommend the Baba Ganoush. And for the entree, it has to be the lamb gyro! (I like to add feta). It's so delicious! The falafel is also a good choice. You will not leave this place hungry!

Food was good. Problem was it took 50 min to get our food. Only one other table occupied when we arrived. Lunch service should be much faster.

Great food... terrible and inattentive wait staff. Actually heard the waiter drop a rather loud F bomb back by the kitchen. Food made it a 3 overall.

I'm very surprised to find a superb Greek cuisine in Bentonville. This has to be one of my top three Greek restaurants of all time. Surprisingly there was hardly any customer, usually not a good sign but in this case my advantage as I got the waitress full attention. I'm baffle why locals are not flocking to this restaurant. I had lamp chop for entree accompany with greek salad, and finish off traditional greek desert, baklavaI. The lamp chop was a perfect 10. They opt for very minimal flavor just the way good meat should be. The potatoes side dish was out of this world. The only complaint I have was waiting for table. There was not a single person attending the entrance so I had to wait a good 5 minutes or more before someone came out. I'm going to miss this place when I leave Bentonville.

The food was excellent. We ordered a lamb plate, humus plate and falafel plate as well as baklava for desert . I would have given five stars however the delivery was late, and they forgot to bring the hot sauce that I asked for and they did not supply any napkins or silverware which was inconvenient because we were staying in a hotel. I also felt the portions were quite small for the price. A menu that is viewable online would also be nice.

PROS: The food here is good, offering fresh and tasty options, especially for the price that you pay. Most people visit here for the Lamb Gyro Platter during lunch, where for $10, you get a bunch of delicious lamb piled on top of a warm pita bread. The Tzatziki sauce is authentic too - you can tell because contrary to popular belief, it's thick just like the way it's supposed to be. CONS: Not enough seating, with too many large tables that seat four or more wasted with only one customer occupying it. Perhaps, there is an opportunity to rearrange the seating to reduce the number of larger capacity tables and allow more two-seater options. This in addition to better space optimization (e.g., lots of wasted space that could easily be rectified with a little moving here and there). After you finally get a table, the wait time is a little too long. For example, we ordered the hummus appetizer to start out, and it came out 20 minutes later for a simple plate of pita bread and hummus topped with olive oil. For a point of comparison, we could have had a pizza with custom toppings freshly baked in the same amount of time it took to put a glop of hummus on a plate. I've experienced this three out of the four times I've been here. If I were to guess, I think it stems from a slow kitchen cook since at times, I notice the waiting staff freely roaming. Lastly, it's way too quiet. There's music playing in the front with the right amount of volume, but it doesn't cascade to the smallish dining area, leaving every conversation to be heard. This can be fixed by ensuring the right level of music is playing throughout the area where patrons are enjoying their meal. BOTTOM LINE: Tasty food at a fair price, but opportunities for improvement with slow service (chef speed) and low seating capacity during lunch time, leaving customers waiting. However, I guess the inability to serve your customers because there just aren't enough seats is typically considered a "high-class" problem in the restaurant industry.

Very good place, but the service is usually slow. They changed the menu and not for the better. Still, the fatush salad with gyro meat on top is a good lunch choice and virtually everything is good. Amazing appetizers!

This place deserves a zero*! I was so mad today! I was sitting alone for 15 min before I got served water. Then another 30 min waiting for a sandwich! There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant and they had their food for a long time. I asked the one waitress if she forgot to enter my order and she said, "no, but it should be out in a few minutes" and proceeded to serve me the check! Well, I waited " a few minutes" then got up and left. I have never done that in all my years! I won't be back! What a disappointment!

One of my new favorite places. If you haven't eaten here you are missing out. Meza plate for appetizer (humus, baba ganoushe, dolmades(stuffed grape leaves), and falafel): could be a meal on its own.Steak kabobs: excellent. Lamb chops: to die for (ok maybe not that good). Best I've had. And top your meal off with baklava. I always leave this place miserably stuffed but always wanting more.

This is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in Northwest Arkansas (actually it's probably my favorite restaurant there, period). I've been several times and have had the same server each time (I believe it's family owned and operated). I get the olive and goat cheese appetizer and the lamb gyro. They pile a huge, generous helping of lamb on the pita. The lamb meat has such great flavor. I always eat half of the gyro there and take the other half home. Also, my husband and I agree that the Tzatziki sauce is the best we have ever tasted. The appetizer and gyro are SO good that I haven't tried other dishes yet, but I'm sure they're just as awesome. The restaurant is fairly small, no booths, just tables. Service has always been good and the food is delicious and consistent. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

Review based on 1 review: Best Mediterranean food I've had in Arkansas. Great pitas, lamb gyro was excellent as was the kabbob. Small and in a strip mall, but great food. I WILL be back. I almost didn't mention the Hummus, but I feel as though I owe it to them, as it was above average. But the warm soft pita they serve with it steals the show.

Tried out this new restaurant today and it was great! I had read on another site that the lamb gyro was really good but I didn't see it on the lunch menu. Another patron, who had already been there before said that while not on the menu, you can ask for it. So I did. The waiter laughed because he said technically it is on the lunch menu or will be because everyone asked for it! That made me feel confident about my decision. Very tasty lamb gyro (btw, isn't it pronounced "hero" versus "jirow" as our waiter called it?) and it was a knife and fork meal-way too big to pick up and eat with any grace. I also had a small Greek salad which was very tasty. I am looking forward to going back for lunch and even dinner to try some other things. I would definitiely recommend the lamb-tender and tasty!

Ready to slow down and enjoy a meal this is the place. This is authentic Mediterranean food. Hard to believe this quality is in NWA. The beef kabobs were huge, decadent lamb chops, the best lamb gyro with yummy Taziki sauce and their version of fajitas plus side salads and yummy yummy hummus with pitas. Drinks never go more than 1/2 down. Tonight was our first visit and this will be our new go to place with visiting friends and date night. So enjoyable and you are not rushed.

I have been to Vivace (Ve Vah Chay) three times now. Great food at a reasonable price. I've tried the lamb gyros twice and the chicken wrap once. Cooked to perfection. No longer have to drive to Fayetteville for my gyro fix. The other place in north Bentonville always made me feel weezy.. Everything arrived in a fair amount of time and hot. Plates and cutlery all appeared new. Nice heavy forks/knives. Only thing I did not like was the salad served at dinner... The

I love this place. From the first plate, you can tell that they put that extra somethin' somethin' in everything they do, starting with the pita, the olive oil and balsamic yummy-ness that comes out right away... As vegetarians, my dining companion and I were thrilled by the number of options available. Vivace obviously considers our ilk, as options that fit the bill are noted on the menu with a "v". Little things mean a lot. The mezze plate was beautifully presented and delicious. While I've had "perfect" versions of everything on it in other parts of the country/world, Vivace's combined effort was great (and no need to add "...for Northwest Arkansas" or "...considering it's in a strip center"). Love love the un-fussy, non-gauging BYOB policy as well. Bring in your bottle from home (or grab one at the impressively-stocked liquor store across the street), pop the cork and carry on. They bring the glasses and skip the "corkage" madness. Previous reviewers have commented on the preponderance of larger tables...that's probably because at least one major company that hits NWA on a weekly-ish basis also makes Vivace part of their drill ("Why mess with the formula?" I can almost hear them saying). On our last visit, members of one such group filed in over a half-hour period, including a guy toting a box filled with choice vintages. They aren't over-complicating it. Neither does Vivace. Nice.

Very good Syrian-Lebanese food. Excelllent beef and chicken Kabob, best we've had across the world. Excellent Baba Ganoush. Nice decor, ambience, and music.

Fantastic place. We are big fans of Mediterranean cuisine and been going to Tangiers in Fayetteville. When we heard of this new place in Bentonville, we decided to try it out. It was worth it. Great food and great service. Will be going again soon.

Wow, I wish I had known about this place earlier. The Bentonville/Rogers area has been seriously lacking in good Mediterranean, so we were happy to give this place a shot. We got the Meza Platter (hummus, baba ganoush, falafel and dolmades w warm pita), the olives and goat cheese, and a lamb gyro. All of it was excellent and the staff was really friendly. The baba ganoush may be the best I've ever had, and the falafel was light and well seasoned. As of now they do not have any alcohol on the menu but it is BYO and there is a liquor store in the adjacent strip mall next to Carpet One. We went for dinner relatively early and took our 2 year old daughter with us and they do have a few items on a kid's menu; we got the chicken kabobs which may have been a little sophisticated for her tastes, but they also had mac & cheese and one other thing (chicken strips maybe?). They were very welcoming to her and she did ok, but the atmosphere in this restaurant is on the nice side (linen tablecloths), so this is probably not a place I would take a group of loud children. All in all, the food exceeded our expectations and I look forward to going back!

Found this place thanks to Yelp as we were traveling through and I am glad we did! We arrived late afternoon, we were the only table. We started with the mezza platter, my husband being middle eastern, we can vouch that the hummus and baba ganoush are authentic! It was very good, definitely try it! I ordered the chicken gyro, the meat was seasoned great but did ask for tzaztiki sauce because that's what I think of when eating a gyro and it was a tad dry for me. Didn't care for the roasted potato side dish. Not five star because of lack of atmosphere (in a strip mall, small so tables are close together, some booths in addition to tables would be better) and service was just okay.

This place looked like it had potential when we first entered and were promptly seated during lunch time. However, it hickey went downhill from there. The menu was a bit of a disappointment as another reviewer mentioned, from the strange items such as ahi poke tuna and a couple Italian choices. The gyros during lunch time do not come on a pita - they are on a tortilla??!!! Who does that? We asked if we could substitute a pita for the tortilla and were told we would have to order the entire gyro platter to get pita. Then came the sides. Along side the gyro, you could get potato chips, roasted potatoes, or fries. When asked if I could sub the grilled veggies that came with something else, or add a side of hummus or baba ganoush, (in an attempt to get something other than a potato) I was told I would have to pay for the full appetizer portion if they added some on the side. After finally placing our order, we waited over 30 minutes for our appetizers to come out. Had to go back to work so we asked for the rest of our food to be boxed up before it came out because we'd have to take it to go. Everything with our order was a disappointment. The roasted potatoes I ordered came with 2 pieces of potato...2??!! Who only eats 2 tiny pieces? Would they have given me 2 french fries if I ordered the fries? One of the other people I was with had their order wrong, and the other had food missing from their order. The waitress seemed completely unphased by every issue we brought to her like she didn't understand anything we were asking about. Overall, baba ganoush was good - but not good enough to bring me back again.

Absolutely delicious. Who doesn't like Mediterranean cuisine? All the best parts of Italian, Greek, and Middle Eastern flavors combined into one savory bite. I had the falafel as an appetizer (crispy goodness on the outside and garlic wallop inside), then the salmon salad. All in a very classy atmosphere. I will be going back for sure.

On vacation in NWA, we were looking for someplace nice that wouldn't bust the budget. We like Mediterranian food and decided to give Vivace a chance. We were a little worried when we were the only ones in the place at the start, but by the time we finished and went back to our hotel at 9pm we had lots of company. Delicious appetizers of hummus/pita and Greek salad prepared us well for my lamb chops on couscous and my wife's lamb gyro. Everything was exceptionally tasty and was prepared and presented with obvious care. The service was attentive but not smothering. As we were finishing, the owner came by and sat with us for a few minutes to make sure that we had been satisfied. I will not hesitate to pay them another visit next time we come up to the Ozarks.
