I had a good seafood gumbo plate here. I was visiting and the waitress was very friendly as an out of towner. Had a great beer selection and seemed like a fun place to spend a friday night. Though I was only there for lunch.

5/7/14- After a 10 hour drive from Kentucky found this place on yelp. The wife had catfish and I had the Cheesesteak sandwich. Both were very good. Nice little oasis after a long day in the car. Good place to unwind and have a beer or two,relax watch some sports and eat good food. Staff was great and attentive. Planning on stopping back in on the way back from Texas.

Very cool place. Great wait staff. Pretty good food. A menu full of good bar food along w a few extras. The staff was perfectly nice, the service was fast and flawless and food was spot on. The night I visited they even had a live band that was decent. I'm not in this part of the world often, but I would definitely go here again!

Took a detour off the interstate and a little chance on this spot. The reviews were good and it looks a little out of the norm for a town named Arkadelphia (cool ass name imo). The kids grilled cheese came on a hoagie bun. Don't suggest that. The shrimp poboy was good. Nothing spectacular. The chicken strips were really good. French fries normal. Everything we ordered came out freshly cooked which is obviously a huge plus. The staff was very friendly and the ambience is kinda surfer chill whatever dude. I'm giving it 4 stars mostly for those reasons.

Tried Slim & Shorty's out after reading the other reviews and we were not disappointed! We ordered fried cheese sticks and fried pickles to start. While both were tasty, the fried pickles really stood out! I tried a suggested hard cider by the server and it was perfect with the fried foods. Our mains consisted of a Philly cheesesteak with added bacon and asparagus, and the chicken fillets (tenders) with fries. The fries were crispy on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside. The chicken was juicy and tender. The cheesesteak was sensational. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend Slim & Shorty's, and already have. A return visit is a must! *I attached photos of our meal.

Awesome service, super cool spot!! They have a treasure chest for the kiddos to choose a toy from & a little stage that they can dance on! We had the pleasure of meeting the owners, who personally made sure everyone in the restaurant was perfectly happy & right at home! Highly recommend!!

This isn't the type of place you expect to find great food but it was amazing. Shrimp scampi was the best I've ever had. My husband loved the taste of the grilled talapia. Decided to try the Funky Monkey for desert and was not disappointed. Deep fried banana sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with chocolate syrup. AMAZING

Wonderful food and service that will bot disappointment. Fun motif from from west coast surf side! Catfish was some of the best I've had. Salads and grilled tilapia were very well executed! Friendly staff and first bar in the county.

This was our second visit, on our way to Hot Springs, and it was every bit as good as the first time around. My hubby and friend were so happy with the grilled chicken with jerk seasoning that they had last Oct. that they ordered it again - for all these months they've been looking forward to tasting the great "island dipping sauce" once more! I went with chicken as well, with grilled zucchini and squash, and half a baked potato, and it was all delicious. These Texans are fans for sure!

Warm, friendly establishment with fresh and flavorful lunch. We had an entree salad, burgers & catfish. All portions were adequate & not ridiculous. Shrimp in the salad were perfectly cooked. At the advice of the waitress, we tried the Pfunky Monkey & it was good.

The waitress was really nice but we waited forever for our food. Not sure why since the place was empty. The beer was ice cold but the burger tasted like one of those frozen patties they just heated up in the microwave. The fried pickles were good but a tad salty. Overall nice waitress, cold beer, long wait, and mediocre food. I'd probably go here again for happy hour but not spectacular food.

I only had a beer and a salad (Slim and Shorty Salad with grilled shrimp). The server was friendly, the staff efficient and the food was good. A couple TVs going with sports on but not obtrusive. Will come back for something less mainstream. Definitely recommend for a casual meal!

Fun family and sports bar atmosphere. Good food and service, and a great escape from I-30 and the dreary fast-food joints at most exits. Definitely worth a very short detour.

Found this gem of a place in downtown Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Would not have expected the beach motif in this part of Arkansas, but it was refreshing to say the least. Great bunch of people and really fun loving with great beach atmosphere and food was excellent. If your passing through you must stop. Only wish we would have had time to be there Friday night.

Good food and friendly folks. What more can I say. I had the ribs and they literally feel off the bone. Portions were about right and prices were not excessive. I will go here again when in Arkadelphia.

I graduated from HSU ten years ago, back when it was a dry county (no alcohol.) I am thrilled that there is now alcohol because there can be a nice nightlife. Slim & Shorty's is a very nice place. The decor is cute. The bathrooms are clean and well-lit. I watch what I eat and was able to choose grilled fish and grilled vegetables, all which were great. They serve you a side of deliciously mayonnaise-y cole slaw. They didn't have any of the local beers on tap, which was the only disappointment to me, though they did have several things on tap and I think they also offered a good variety of bottled beers. We went on Saturday and there was live music. The entertainer was good and the music wasn't too loud. my friends and I were still able to talk and visit and enjoy the music. I know I will be going back regularly and recommending this to most everyone. Glad they're there.

Stopped in on our long trip home and what a nice oasis this was! The atmosphere is rather oddly "beach front" considering that it is located in downtown Arkadelphia (probably a nod to the local college crowd). The beer selection is good and the food surprisingly good. The tilapia was fresh and nicely grilled. Loved the jerk-rubbed grilled chicken. Service was great! Beats the heck out of interstate chain options.

Chicken teriyaki was very much liked by the man, I ordered a cheese burger everything was fresh just the meat was a little on the salty side but it could be just me. Good service overall.

Worth the drive off the highway. We are always looking for a good local restaurant and this fits the bill. I had the oysters and my husband had the fish. All nicely cooked with not allot of breading and fresh grilled veggies. Friendly staff and good food at a great price. Just what we were looking for.
