Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Before you actually judge this place, I absolutely enjoyed the food and the sweet manager working here. Their ground beef was juicy and delicious. This restaurant should've gotten a 4. What ruined this experience was my waiter. The moment I stepped into the restaurant, he swore hatred against me. I actually wanted to cry because he was so mean to me. So my experience started out normally in that he approached my friend and me and took our orders. I asked for a beef taco salad without sour cream and cheese. That's it. He came back with a taco salad drenched and filled to the top with sour cream and cheese. He then came this close to tossing a plate next to my taco salad and said "I didn't tell them to take out the sour cream and cheese. Just throw it in this plate here." Seriously? I spent the next 10 minutes trying to fish everything out and it got to the point the plate was overflowing with the stuff I didn't want originally that I asked the manager for a new set of utensils. That was all I wanted. Then, the manager was curious as to why I wanted new utensils so I explained about my situation. He asked if I wanted my dish remade and I said that wasn't necessary. In the middle of this conversation, this waiter interrupts me multiple times asking "What do you want now?" The manager had to tell him to stop and let me finish because he kept interrupting me saying "you want it remade or what?" I just wanted an extra set of utensils! The waiter came back and took my dish away even as I was about to start eating it anyway to not be any trouble. He came back with a new taco salad and asked my friend how was she doing, refilled her water, and didn't even LOOK at me. When we went up to pay, he thanked my friend for her payment. When I paid, I tried to be civil and thank him for understanding the situation. He never once apologized and didn't even acknowledge my presence except to hand me the bill. I wanted to cry! What did I ever do to him!

For this guy, this spot is solid, average Tex-Mex Fare in an average Tex-Mex decor setting. There was nothing bad here...just nothing at all to set it apart from about a million other Tex-Mex restaurants in this great Nation. If I could...I'd say 2.5 stars

The most authentic as you can get in Roll Tide country. We stopped by here after a predictable Alabama and Auburn game and noticed that the place seems to be tucked away in a quieter side of town nearby construction. We walk in and we were greeted with eager servers that are already willing to help. We ordered the house margarita which was on special before 7pm at $3 and guacamole. Coming from Texas, this was pretty good but of course, for those that are Tex-Mex deprived in Tuscaloosa just like my father-inlaw, this is a win. We ordered fajitas and flautas. The beef in the fajitas were cut smaller and was manageable to put in a tortilla and it tasted good. My flautas was great because it was crispy and the seasoning was great. Service was really great and they were unobtrusive and anticipatory. The only complaint I have is that we were given a sopapilla yet it came out as a tostada. The sopapilla was flat and not really fluffy like a pillow. Other than that, it's given an A-OK for food and service pushes it to four.

Margaritas Grill is my go to $3 margarita spot (happy hour is everyday and lasts until 8pm). I am always happy with what I order, but sometimes the service is lackluster. This place is basic tex-mex style food (I recommend the fajita quesadilla from the a la carte menu). The Margs are good, give you the ability to mix flavors, and are decently strong. All in all I truly enjoy Margarita's Grill.
