Updating review: I love that the owner and managers here care so much about their customers. Although I had a bad experience, the owners message helped a lot. So, let me give them the review they deserve. Food: The gyro here is the BEST! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I had the Pesto Pepper jack and the boyfriend had the Surf N Turf. Of course mine tasted better but they were both delicious. Wait, delicious doesn't even describe the taste. It's better than delicious! Seriously, open one up in Texas!! If you're in the area make sure to drop by and devour a gyro and take one home.

Jesus where to begin...? The food here is on point. It was very good. Growing up in a Greek community I was very hesitant to try the Gyro here needless to say it was delicious. I had a BBQ Ranch Gyro and it was great. Bartender here is great to she is fast and always making sure you're taken care of #givedagirlaraise! I'm here for work for the weekend and I must say if I ever come back to Tuscaloosa I'll be back for sure! BTW GO VOLS!

The gyros are really good, as is their hummus, and each meal comes with a pretty large amount of food. They have a lot of different flavored of hummus, which makes trying a new one every time pretty fun. The drinks are also reasonably priced and good as well! I got something along the lines of a berry vodka lemonade! The only downside is the wait can be frustrating especially since they don't like to seat too many people up top so you are forced to wait while looking at empty tables.

The service is excellent and you can basically customize any dish on the menu to your preferences. They have no problems splitting the check amongst 6 people or a large party. I ordered the shawarma plate with lamb, and requested for more grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables were delicious. The plate comes with the option of hummus and the sun dried tomato pesto was my favorite. The chipotle lime comes a close second. Ask for the shawarma sauce on the side because they'll put a lot. It's warm and creamy. The down side to this dish is the lamb. It doesn't taste like lamb nor does it taste like meat. It had a funky texture. I liked it but I wasn't really sure what I was eating.

This is by far some of the best hummus I've ever had! Creative, innovative hummus if I may describe it that way! Lol. You can basically pick a trio plate from roughly 10 different options. We got sundried tomato, something lime, and garlic and basil. (Listed in order of preference). They were all top-notch with the pita chips. We also ordered falafel. These are very good, but very different from most I've had. Imagine if a wheat hushpuppy and falafel had a baby, that's what you'll get. They're really tasty, but those with gluten intolerance should check ingredients before ordering this. Some vegan options.

I've eaten here twice and loved it both times. The gyros are off the chain. I also like their hummus. Great weekly specials on gyros, salads and more. The menu has a nice variety, and everything is quality.

I had a gyro plate, and it was delicious. The hummus was my favorite--very flavorful. I wish they would give you a little bit more (portion wise). The staff was very friendly.

GREAT restaurant! I seriously suggest Chicken Shawarma or Burger Gyro! And the Loaded Cottage Fries (cheese and bacon on fries) ! They lost one star because I had to go ask for silver wear, and I had to wait 5 minutes after I asked for my drink... Other than that it was phenomenal and couldn't be better! For the price of 25.64, the four of us are and had stuff left! Great server and hostess, server was very friendly and joked around with us. It took a little while to get food, but with how crowded it was, it was understandable. And the wait was worth it! Definitely stopping here again! Great Job Glory Bound!

Tons of options for reasonable prices, especially on $5 gyro day. Good for parties of any sizes. They have a lot of non-Greek options so don't avoid it because you think it's a Greek restaurant. My favorite is the Feta Steak Gyro.

Soooo good! I had the gyro with pepper jack cheese, pesto spinach hummus, lamb and beef. It was divine! If I lived nearby I would go all the time. My brother had the falafel gyro which he really enjoyed.

My new favorite restaurant in Tuscaloosa. The place is vibrant and welcoming. It's a multi-floored building located downtown. I went to Cyprus with my girlfriend this summer so I know what Greek food is supposed to taste like, and this is a great American twist on it. It is the best lamb and pita I've had in the states. We got the hummus trio as an appetizer and picked the garlic basil, Mediterranean, and the classic hummus with warm pita, it was great and we ate it so quickly I forgot to take pictures of it. I picked the bbq ranch gyro, hold the lettuce, and added bacon and grilled mushrooms and I was very satisfied with my concoction. My girlfriend got the original gyro and was very happy with her choice as well. The cottage fries are great and I used them to scrape the remaining bits of hummus out of the cups from the trio. The comeback sauce is also great with the fries. Very well priced (had we not had the appetizer, it would've been under 10 per person) I'm already eager to go back.

Honestly the best lunch we had in Tuscaloosa, What a neat place with really cool gyros and salads. Very creative sandwiches as well as the old favorites. I can see why it is so popular. My only criticism was the glass the beer is served in, I know it sounds petty but it was a mason jar with handle thing, trying to get too cute. But good beer selection and awesome staff. you cant go wrong and you see folks all over town with their to go cups. really neat décor with their logo on all kinds on iconic brands, not sure how they get away with copy write law but it's cool looking. looks like they are looking to franchise down South, I wish them success.

The food is fantastic but the waiter was soo rude that ruined my day. He literally threw straws at us. While talking he was obviously offensive.

Donna J stole my meals and my review! This place is really good. I've been twice and on the first time had the pepper jack gyro, which was outstanding. Pro tip: upgrade from the fries to the loaded hash browns. The second time I had the feta chicken spinach salad and ate it without the salad dressing. Delicious.

I live in Seattle now and crave this place all the time. Their gyros are so fresh and delicious, and priced right as well. I loved coming Glory Bound for their special gyro and pint nights, and my family would always come here after a football game. Their fries and salads always hit the spot. They are reliably and consistently delicious!

Though they have great specials I took a chance on a steak gyro. I instantly regretted it when I opened my to-go container. It was fatty and greasy. I understand there's a degree of oil and grease expected but the bottom of the box was a soup of oil. It wasn't my cup of tea and for over $10 I expected better.

Was in tuscaloosa for a few hours for a wedding shower and looked for a great lunch place in and tried these guys out. Really wonderful food, My husband and I loved the pepper jack gyro and our kids had chicken stripes and grilled cheese. We will definitely come here next time we are in town.

Best gyro I've ever had. I got the original and it was AMAZING to say the least!! So tender and juicy and they even offered more tzaki sauce without me having to ask. Great service too! Will be back again for SURE!

Second time we came here- only been to Tuscaloosa twice- but we love it. Tues night $5 gyros can't beat it- so many different ones. I get the original gyro with the Greek salad as a side ( sneaked a few cottage fries from the hubby) I wish we had one in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Oh, great classic rock plays in the restaurant- you know every song!

For a restaurant based exclusively on the national dish of Greece, one would expect that this place actually knows what a Gyro is, let alone how to make it. My mistake for making such a bold assumption. In my many years of eating this delicious Greek treat, from Athens to Berlin, Toronto to Seattle, I can't say I've ever seen such an abomination masquerading as a gyro as the one I had the misfortune of ordering today. I won't even bother describing the abysmal atmosphere of this place, fetid as it was with the smell of soiled bar rags and disinfectant. Nor will I bother mentioning the dirty tables and sticky menus (what are they using the soiled bar rags for if not for cleaning the tables and menus?). Not a word will be wasted on the disgruntled serving staff. Instead, let me share just a couple of observations concerning their "gyro." To begin, what you will not find anywhere in this "authentic" gyro restaurant is the very hallmark of the gyro industry, in fact the very thing that gives it the name gyro (gyro = "turn" in Greek), that is, the vertical spit/skewer that turns the stacks of meat before a grill - a mark of pride in any respectable Greek establishment and always prominently displayed for the discerning patron to determine the quality of the meat. No, not here. Instead, at Glory Bound you will order what you think is a gyro, wait approximately 30 minutes (In Europe the gyro is considered fast-food), and sit in astonishment as the server drops before you what the folks at Glory Bound consider to be a gyro - a wet bread-like thing that looks like a pita, wrapped in far too much wax paper (to compensate for the small portions), smothered in a mysterious white sauce that is probably tzatziki (but one cannot be too sure), and filled with (thankfully) a few pieces of processed, spongy, dried-out, and flavourless "meat" that would make any self-respecting Greek weep for the crimes committed here against his/her national dish. In the end, if it's glory this place is bound for, it's not the kind of glory that King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans fought and died for at Thermopylae.

Hit this place on a drive through AL. So worth the stop. We started with the sun-dried tomato hummus, best hummus I've had! Super flavorful. Served with pita, perfectly warm and fluffy. You Must try hummus, they have like 10 varieties. I got the chicken spinach pesto gyro. Amazing. Once again, the pesto on the gyro was Fab and the chicken was just grand. Hubs got the pepper jack gyro, it's what they are known for and I see why. I don't even like pepper jack and I would've had no problem finishing this Greek treat. Their sweet tea is southern perfection, sweet but good tea flavor. And you get to take the cups! The service was attentive and really helpful. We are from out of town, but they have different deals during the week and comedy on Wednesday and DJ's later in the week at the bar upstairs. If you are around T-town, stop in!

Went here last night and it was good but not mind blowing. I had the comeback gyro and it was actually good, better than expected. This is a good restaurant for groups of friends or getting a meal after a long day of work. It's not really a place to go on a romantic date.

This place is interesting. Burgers, chicken, steak, shrimp, falafel,, all gyro style. My brain got confused and it was really hard for me to make a decision. When I think gyro, I immediately want to put tzatziki sauce into my mouth. It is just delicious. I could eat it by the bowl, like soup. Probably a big reason why I usually have yogurt with my dinner. Probably why I'm fat. Ok, I'm fat because I stuff my pie hole with food. But I digress. We opted for the hummus sampler. $7.99 for any three samples of their hummus with pita. Their pita is the thick kind, which I like. I love carbs. Probably why I'm fat. We got the regular, spicy pepper, and jalapeno cilantro. Our favorite was the cilantro jalapeno. Nice and tangy, but not spicy at all. Also tried the pepper jack gyro, which is apparently what they are known for. Beef and lamb meat with sauteed onions, hold the lettuce. Don't like hot lettuce. Bacon, comeback sauce and pepper jack cheese. It was ok. The bacon was soggy, not crispy. Comeback sauce could be compared to what is it, Big Mac sauce? It was decent, but I would try something else next time. It came with cottage fries, which were mostly burnt. I like a good crisp brown home fry, but I don't like to have the burnt flavor in my mouth. Oh well. It is nice inside. Kinda dark. Friendly staff. Maybe I'd go back, maybe not.

I've just started coming to eat here recently, and every time has been on point. I am in love with the buffalo chicken gyro, and it really feels you up! Both the waitresses I've had were super attentive and extremely friendly. I can't remember what my boyfriend got but he always ends up liking mine the best. We love the cheese rolls as well, they have a very Asian taste to them, so delicious!! I definitely recommend this place, they have a large beer selection as well.

Glory Hallelujah! What a great addition to Tuscaloosa! I love how we Americans take something foreign and make it our own. Gyros are Greek, but there is nothing Greek about Glory Bound. A couple of entrepreneurial boys from Mississippi create a killer burger joint (Mugshots) and decide to go Greek. I love it. Tuesdays are $5 gyro nights, so that's when I usually go. 5 bucks ain't bad for a big old gyro and some fries, big thick steak fries. You can get the fries loaded, which means smothered in cheese and bacon for $1 more. I sometimes do that. That takes to total up to a whopping $6 on Tuesdays. They're quite good. I get a different gyro every time I go, and my favorite so far has been the Pepperjack Gyro. It's beef and lamb (mmm!) coated in melted pepperjack cheese, onions, bacon (!), and their famous comeback sauce. It's the same tangy sauce on the Comeback Burger next door at Mugshots that is just so good. Whatever they put in it works because it keeps me coming back. Now, I must mention that steak and shrimp gyros are $6 on Tuesday nights. Speaking of which, the Surf-N-Turk Gyro is superb. Steak, shrimp, comeback sauce, mushrooms, onions and peppers. Too good. It's a spacious place and really hip joint. Much more useful than the night club that used to sit behind those tinted windows. One of my new favorite places in town. You gotta check this place out!

One of the our favorite restaurants in Tuscaloosa. It's fairly inexpensive and you get a ton of food. We always start with the cheese rolls which are so amazing. The red chili pepper sauce is soooo good. The variety of hummus is a perk as well. We have tried them all and have not been disappointed. I have tried multiple gyros and have enjoyed most, yet I always go back to the original. Can't mess with a good thing. My only complaint is that the service is hit or miss, but I've had far more good experiences than bad.

I am pretty much SHOCKED that Glory Bound Gyro Co has not become a big hit in the downtown dining scene. My son & I had lunch here today and it was excellent! They advertise themselves as focusing on "great food and service in a funky, fun-filled atmosphere." I think that it is an accurate description. The decor is inviting and comfortable, the service was very good (kudos to Hunter). The menu is loaded with Greek foods w/a Southern twist. Gyro meats w/pepperjack cheese, BBQ sauce and feta cheese. But, it really works. I had the "Comeback Gyro (in the Burger section of the menu): seasoned ground hamburger with melted pepperjack cheese wrapped with lettuce, onions, bacon & comeback sauce. DAMN!!!!!! It was served with hand cut cottage fries and our server sent a side of the comeback sauce for the fries...a nice touch. I will most certainly go back and I hope I can force myself to try more menu options...

4 stars for food 0 for service I love this place. I always get the steak gyro or the shawarma plate and it's never an easy decision. Considering the amount of food you can get and all their daily deals they offer, I think the price is right. The cocktails are a little hit or miss but really, I don't understand why this place isn't way more popular. Oh wait, yes I do: The management and service is the same as Mugshots, and if you've ever been to Mugshots you know that means you MIGHT get an awesome server , but most likely you're going to get the guy that takes your order, and never sees you again (someone else will bring your food 20 minutes later, probably the cook, because he sees no one has picked it up yet) until the he magically reappears to offer to refill your drinks as you finish your last bite. But now you don't need a refill because you already choked on your delicious potato wedge 10 minutes ago. You'll give him your card to pay and become convinced that he's left the country with it because it takes another 15 minutes (yes, that's real) to return from the card swiping machine. He'll ask if he can get you anything else and you'll accidentally laugh because he didn't get you one thing the whole time and he only had two tables and you saw him flirting with the other server but you know you'll still tip him the minimum 15% because you're a good person. But mostly because the food is delicious and you've made a mental note to order it to go next time.

I used to really like this place but the past like 3 or 4 times iv gone it has been BEYOND terrible. I keep going back hoping they were just having a bad day but after four terrible meals I don't think I will go back :(

The food here is great, and I can't wait to go back someday. I got a steak gyro and loved it. The cocktails on the menu were reasonably priced and sounded delicious, though I did not partake. I came with a larger group and they were very accomodating. Good spot!

I go here often and no matter what waiter/waitress I get, they are always awesome! I'm big on getting good service and this place does not disappoint. You're always greeted by a friendly hostess, served by a friendly waiter/waitress, and the food is great!

Tried this place with two other friends before a concert. We tried the hummus sampler and cheese rolls as appetizers. I think my favorite hummus was the jalapeno - cilantro. Both appetizers were really tasty! For my entree, I had the Crete salad, which was very good. The meat was juicy and flavorful and the veggies of the salad were super fresh; along with the feta cheese made this salad a winner. Service was speedy and efficient also. I will definitely try this place again.

At first I was skeptical about the food here because I was not impressed with the hummus appetizer sampler. But then I ordered the Shawerma plate (chicken). The chicken is served over rice pilaf, covered with a Shawerma sauce. Grilled veggies (squash, zucchini, onion) and pita+hummus complement as sides. Both the Shawerma and the grilled veggies were outstanding!

Owned by the good ole folks that own mugshots. I think their pricing is fair for the portions and there's a lot of variety in gyros. A little bit above average. Also, the bathroom is downstairs.

Breakdown = food is good but overpriced. Considering you can go down the street and get a better Gyro for less money, I wasn't exceptionally pleased with this place. I will say the decor and atmosphere is better, definitely more family friendly, and there are more options (and kudos for the uniqueness!). However the veggie Gyro that I got (and was recommended by the waitress) had a dearth of veggies and a lot of a good, but oddly textured, sauce (that I presume was tzatziki). The home fries were great!

Yummy yummy! Reasonably priced and a fun decor & atmosphere. On a road trip passing through town and so glad we stopped here. The falafel plate and Greek salad were great. Friendly service, too.

This was an awesome place to have lunch! Lucked out with a good parking spot, but there's not a ton of parking available. I liked the atmosphere and the waitress was very nice and friendly. The menu had a lot of choices and the food was great. Really a great place! I would go all the time if I lived in Tuscaloosa.

Best food in Tuscaloosa!!! I got the hummus trio and the Mediterranean plate and it was outstanding! The hummus specials are so good, and the feta dressing that goes on top I could drink by itself. You've got to try out Glory Bound, you won't be disappointed.
