Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This is clearly the best, freshest, quality Mexican restaurant in Tuscaloosa. And when I say quality food, I mean the food quality in upper end tourist areas (Think Destin, Orange Beach). I so hope this diamond in the rough will make it. I spoke to the manager, Alex, and he just needs more exposure. being several miles from Midtown and farther south on McFarland Boulevard, they are located next to Life Way, Christian bookstore. Try the fajita quesadilla or enchiladas with green sauce. Fresh guacamole cheese dip and salsa were the best I've had in this town hands-down.

If you don't mind the smell of Fabuloso and a fantastically clean place, the margaritas are incredible, the food is fresh & fast and their spicy salsa is to die for. Very happy I stopped.

Found this from the highway while on a road trip. Great food and fast service! Highly recommended. Perfect alternative to fast food while traveling.

We have been twice in the last few weeks to this new restaurant in Tuscaloosa. The first for lunch and the next for take-out dinner. Both times, it has been excellent! The first time I had a combo with a quesadilla and an enchilada. I'm not sure what the quesadilla had in it, but it was creamy and great. Not just crammed full of cheese, there was a creamy chipotle type sauce. So, so great! The rice is really fluffy and moist. (I hate the m word, but this is deserving of it.) When we ate in, the staff was great and they have a cute elephant mariachi band painting on the wall coming into the store, it is really cute. I can't say enough about this great addition to the Tuscaloosa restaurant scene.

Food is ok, service is excellent. How good can tex-mex be really? Maybe I'm biased considering I'm used to the food in Southern California/Northern Mexico, but having most of your food smothered in cheese isn't for me. It wasn't terrible, it was just overpowering. Margaritas were reasonably priced. Happy hour was buy one, get one 1/2 price. Needless to say, I walked out happy. :)!

This place has only been open 2 weeks and is by one of my offices, so a few coworkers and I decided to check it out. The restaurant is freshly redecorated, and staff were friendly. My current impressions are: They need to chop the Cilantro and remove the stems before adding to salsa. We're pretty sure "fresh" guacamole was canned. The meals were served very quickly, which was good. We tried the Chili Relleno and the Quesadillas. No one was impressed with their meal. This place still has a lot of work to do before I can recommend.

This was a great find on our way home. Conveniently located right off the highway. The fajita quesadilla was amazing and full of flavor, the taco salad was substantial and was also very good. Salsa and guacamole were fresh and the chips warm and crisp. The restaurant itself was VERY clean and the servers were polite and extremely attentive. You can tell they really care about their customers. We will definitely stop back in on our next trip. Locals here have a great go to for Mexican here.

Friendly servers. Any language barrier is made up by their hospitality. But the real deal is the authentic delicious food!

I had the lunch mixed (shrimp, chicken & steak) fajitas, which was very good. They give you plenty of food for your money. I loved the salsa as well. The staff was very friendly!

Pleasantly surprised. The margaritas are excellent! Three of us dined and we enjoyed our fajitas, nachos, and shrimp. Miguel was our waiter and he was outstanding. The place has an extensive menu.

Very clean, great atmosphere, delicious food, extensive menu with all the classic dishes and lots of variety (and burgers and chicken fingers on the kids' menu), fabulous margaritas. The staff was very personable, friendly, and hospitable. Large bar and 3 pool tables in the back. Awesome Mexican restaurant!

A great addition to our community. This family has worked hard to bring something positive to this long vacant location and the kitchen looks like a cruise ship galley, impressive. They pride themselves on fresh authentic ingredients and service. Welcome!

Great Service! Food tasted very fresh, not canned. Prices are much less than other Mexican restaurants in the area. Margaritas were great. Definitely will be back.

We visited for the first time today. We received great service from Karla. Several other employees checked on us through our meal. Everyone was so pleasant and friendly and they took great care of us. The food was delicious and the entrees came out super hot and fresh. Then just as we were finishing up they brought us complementary desert. It was so thoughtful and delicious. This truly was a great experience. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant was really good!! The location looks a little suspect but it is a very good restaurant. The staff is friendly and the place is nicely decorated with beautiful authentic Mexican pottery and art. Also very clean. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans and queso dip. Here's the breakdown: Enchiladas-really good, very unique and tasty enchilada sauce, chicken is fresh and plentiful Rice-Best I have had in Tuscaloosa, super fluffy and tasty Beans-Above average Cheese dip-Very good and better than most places in Tuscaloosa. I checked in on facebook and got a free sopapilla so that was pretty cool. I plan to visit this place again.

Basic "Southern Mexican" however for some reason it seems and kinda taste like the ingredients are a bit on the cheap side. My meal of the #50 - 1 - burrito and 1 enchilada went down well with my usual Tequila shot and a few dos equis. Odd smell about the place. Not too bad and nothing special.
