The order was wrong. A manager started the order, passed it off to a server, and we were missing a child's plate & our drinks. We made the second trip back for the drinks. Opened the food & it was cold. No butter with the cornbread either. And the dumplings were terrible. Check your food if you get carry out.

I think their breakfast is awesome, although I not really fond of anything on their dinner menu besides chicken and dumplings. Their staff is always nice and their store is well organized. I've gone to many Cracker Barrels while traveling and their stores are too junky. Not this one! I highly recommend their country fried steak breakfast!

Food was ok, but the service was SLOW both times we went. The second time the waitstaff was also verging on rude. One waitress (not ours) shot a dirty look behind their back when a customer asked for extra biscuits. Very unprofessional. We won't be back.

If you don't know, then you must be traveling through. Basic southern cuisine with plenty of options.

Good food and the biscuits are very good. The attached general store always contains alot of neat and interesting items. The breakfast is hard to beat and if you leave hungry, it's not anyones fault but your own. Coffee is the best.

My family and I love Cracker Barrel overall, but this location consistently has bad service, especially with parties of more than 4. On our last visit, I even spoke with the manager about how our food came out very sporadically, was cold, and few apologies or attempts to fix things were offered. He promised to "send someone over," but never did. He certainly didn't visit our table himself. No offer was made to take anything off our bill or correct any of the orders. When we got up to leave, he walked away in order to avoid conversation. I can overlook a bad waiter from time to time, but there's no excuse for poor management.

This place is yummy! The staff is friendly and it's pretty clean. My relationship with the Cracker Barrel is one of love and hate. I hate the cheesy fake decor, I hate the way they feed you through the garbage stuff for sale on your way in, and I hate the name of the establishment. But I can't help but to LOVE everything else. First, chicken fried steak (country fried steak) is a southern classic. I can eat it for breakfast lunch and dinner. Add hashbrown casserole, biscuits with white gravy, a couple eggs, coffee... It's a recipe for a freakin fabulous breakfast lunch dinner snack brunch, whatever. I've always had good service here. Everyone is nice, greets at the door, experienced waitresses are accurate and prompt. Never had a complaint. It's in Trussville off of Chalkville Mountain Rd, great access to I-59. During the summer, most of the patrons are headed to/from the beach. Just check out the license plates. In conclusion, I really like Cracker Barrel in Trussville. I can get over the fact that it's always full of "crackers." I can also get over all the garbage they are trying to sell. But I can't resist the chicken fried steak and everything else that makes this spot great!

Typical location for chain. Part of group had arrived and seated before we did but did not appear to be much of a wait for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Once we all arrived, order taken as soon as we were ready. Food arrived promptly and correct temperature. Hot food was hot, cold food cold. Much better pancake preparation this time than at last location.

Horrendous service by Joel M. Food was delivered sporadicly and we never received everything we ordered but got tired of asking repeatedly. By far the worst experience at a Cracker Barrel ever. We will NEVER be back. Joel M, tip of the day, get out of the service industry.
