Stevarino's is the pizza place in Scottsboro everyone tries so hard to like. Whether it is the cocky, often pushy know-it-all owner (also namesake) or the amazing disappearing waitresses, Stevarino's never fails to irk and annoy at least half of the people sitting around me when I find myself dragged here. Here's what you can expect upon visit, and some tips for surviving the evening... 1.) You'll find yourself seated usually right away but will not see a waitress for 5-20 minutes. The hostess can not/will not take your drink or food order even though she will give you menus, so don't bother. AS SOON as the waitress makes her way to your table, for the love of god - order everything then. You'll thank me for this later when your first beverage arrives roughly the same time as your food. Failure to do this will result in a much longer (30+ minute) wait, even during non-peak hours. This is the fragile balance which will define your experience, I promise. 2.) Ask to be seated AWAY from the bar on Friday/Saturday evenings. The drinking crowd there are mostly redneck regulars, allowed to yell, run around with drinks and invade your table to "as u uh queshtun" and be generally obnoxious to anyone with the misfortune of sitting in this section. I have seen more than one near fight between people trying to dine and some loudmouth piece of detritus catcalling someone's girlfriend/wife/teen daughter. Seriously, f*ck those people and the bar here. 3.) be prepared for overpriced everything. No joke. If you don't see a price or if there is some confusion on how much something costs to add to your order (toppings, etc), figure it out and get an exact price before you order or be prepared for a personal visit to your table from the forever loud and reprehensible Steve to shame you into paying for an unmarked price. Never happened to me but I've seen it. Very similar to the bait and switch in some 3rd world market. 4.) Call your order in, or get your food to go whenever possible. I know, this defeats the whole purpose of going here instead of any of the other 4 takeout pizza places in town, and that is exactly the point I am trying to make - Look, Steve - If you can read this, I am appealing to you... Get it together and make this restaurant worth our time, please. Scottsboro really needs a sit-down alternative to Pizza Hut. Until this place improves, check out SkyToppers in Skyline, they won't let you down.

Called this hotel for delivery and the cashier was rude and said they don't deliver. When I stated the hotel said they did she said "well we close in 20 minutes". So I stated you do deliver? She said well with a $20 order. I'm sorry but you lied so I will not spend my money with a business that can't be honest with patrons.

My daughter and I ate here tonight. I can't believe we missed it for so long. Ok it looks like a bar when you walk in, but the dining area is in the back. We came in on Monday. Pizza night. They give a nice discount for pizzas then. We ordered and the manager came by and talked to us. Upon discovering it was our first night she gave us a couple of cheese sticks to try. They were very good. Our waitress was great and very nice. The pizza came out and I loved it. Probably one of the best I had in a long time. We ate most of it and wrapped up the rest to enjoy later. We had a nice talk with the manager and we will go back to try the other dishes. This is a local home grown place with very good food. Probably one of Scottsboro's best kept secrets.

I love the South Pittsburg place and this is just as good without the charm of downtown South Pittsburg. Try the specials The closest thing to an Alabama cheers

There are hearty daily specials posted inside and on the sign outside. Tuesday is prime rib, Wed is baby back ribs, Thurs is 50-cent wings. The wings were a bit too saucy, and the full rack of ribs was just alright - tender but the rub and BBQ sauce weren't spectacular. There's an assortment of pastas and standard American restaurant fare. Stevarinos also catered our work site, and their pizzas were pizzeria quality, personally delivered by the Steve the owner. This is the hangout spot in Scottsboro for the older crowd - some come just for the bar, some come for drinks and dinner. Don't be intimidated to go in - it looks like a bar in a rundown strip mall from the outside, but families go by to eat dinner, and they're friendly to outsiders and those in town for work. The locals definitely add exotic character (e.g., the prowling puma, the toothless drunk) to this place in this quiet town.

Came here at the recommendation of the hotel clerk. Stevarinos is definitely a local's hangout. Basically it's a bar with some pretty good Italian food. I'm not sure that it's the best place to bring a family, but if you're looking for a good bite to eat, a drink, and some local color, this is your place.
