Sushi was great. Server messed up one of the rolls and brought a new one out but charged us for both - that was the only downer of the night. We ordered the Samurai Roll, Sweet bahama roll (great if you like bananas!) and Summer Roll. They were all really good and the fish tasted fresh! Nice atmosphere and pretty wood detailing on the interior. We'd return!

I love Japanese Steakhouses and I was quite excited to try this one. When my friend and I arrived the place was pretty empty. We were seated quickly and before we could take our next breathe the waitresses was asking what we wanted to drink. Hahah, I definitely understand fast service but at least give us a minute to peruse the menu! Sheesh. This kept happening however, as soon as she brought the water glasses over she was asking what we wanted as our main entrées. Although the meal was brought out quickly we didn't have time to actually enjoy the ambience....the experience. I definitely felt rushed. We both ordered the steak and scallop hibachi. It was really good, although the waitress failed to ask me how I wanted my steak cooked. I try not to eat pork or beef too often, maybe once or twice a year, so it wasn't a big deal that I ate only a few pieces of the steak. All in all, a nice establishment. I'd probably skip the next go round, unless I want my food extra, extra fast!!!

Not sure if it was because it was a Sunday but a bit disappointed. Ordered edamame and calamari as appetizers. Sushi(Shrimp, salmon, eel), along with a spicy salmon handroll and crab volcano. We didn't get the appetizers until everything arrived and both were very bland (hint to chef, salt is good). On the sushi, the shrimp and salmon handroll were very dry and obviously old. The volcano was very good along with the Salmon sushi. Not impressed and sad because it's so close.

My family loves this restaurant! Our only concern is that we got the same chef on both our most recent visits....would like to see how the other chefs put on the show. I've had both the tuna and scallops....generous servings of both, as well as the rice and veggies. And, both the house and garlic salads are delicious! I've also tried their sushi and really liked it!

By far, the BEST sushi I've ever tried, ever . And I travel the nation. I ordered the empire roll and the samurai roll. amazing . I'm here for a week , and I'm coming here the whole week to eat dinner. I ordered the combo yakisoba and shrimp fried rice to go, but man, I can't stop thinking about the sushi Recommend to bring someone here, small and quiet, yet the bar has the game on.

I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about... But I'll say this, I've been to my share of hibachi spots and this is definitely among the best. The chef was awesome and the food even better. Do yourself a favor have the filet. Two of us came in on Saturday night and got seated right away but for larger groups, you should probably call ahead. Highly recommend this place.

Sushi places are popping up all over Montgomery and I love sushi but I'm not particularly fond of Montgomery. I was so glad Tokyo opened in Prattville and doubly glad that it is so good. My kids and my husband love the grill so they are never disappointed. I love the sushi so everyone is happy. We never eat Japanese in Montgomery anymore.

Had a great chef and the food was okay. The soup was overly fishy and the tempura was more like donut batter. Love the fire in the show wish we had it in our area. Wasn't happy with being rushed out after the bill was paid.

So what every you do don't make reservations because you'll wait an hour and watch other folks who walk in off the street get seated before you. The service is horrible. The manager is the bartender and can't make anything more couple than a gin and tonic.

I am sorry to do this, but I've given this place numerous chances over the past year to redeem themselves. Each time I've gone, something hasn't... just hasn't been right. I have on various occasions experienced odd colored meat, burned rice, unfinished sushi and terrible service. The food overall is good, but every blue moon something was just...off. The service is my problem. On one occasion during lunch I was never seated after the waitress looked at me twice and walked away. The dining area had 2 customers and even the sushi chef ( not sure what they are called and too lazy to google ) was looking at me wondering why I wasn't being helped. When I finally walked out of the restaurant the server opened the emergency exit to ask if I had ordered and gestured for me to come back. I said "no" but kept walking. I felt like it'd be a walk of shame to go back in. Granted, maybe something was going on, but it was not busy and like I said, they "saw" me. With the lackluster experiences I'd had, that was the nail in the coffin. I heard that this place is owned by the owner of another restaurant in Montgomery with the same theme and food. They are doing a wonderful job there, but I think something is just off putting at this one. Sorry guys, but I tried!

We had a group of 17 for dinner and this place is perfect for that. Everyone enjoyed there food, but two had to wait for their chicken because the chef forgot to cook it for them. Calamari rings? come on! I want some real squid. So not Japanese and a fortune cookie at the end of the meal... LoL

Very fresh sushi, decent prices, consistent taste! Good place to eat sushi especially in AL.

I have had several great lunches here-- good service, tasty sushi... no complaints. I came for dinner, and it was like a different restaurant. The sushi roll I normally get for lunch was not nearly as good (mushy, odd textures... just disappointing). My husband got teriyaki chicken-- horrible... bland chicken drowning in an excessively sweet sauce and raw onions. Parts of the sauce were actually congealed. Additionally, the service was incredibly slow, a problem I have never encountered at lunch. I'm not sure they can handle a big crowd. Recommended for lunch... not for dinner.

This place is so close to my house, so that is an automatic star. The ginger dressing is delicious, so that is another star. Is the sushi the BEST I have ever had, no....but, it's good. The convenience of staying local makes it great! I go here once a week. I have sat at the bar and the booths. Service in both areas is fantastic, but at the bar the sushi chefs always give me little extra treats like squid salad...that is PHENOMENAL! Last night, we had ginger salads, Out of Control roll (AMAZING), spicy tuna, Alaska roll & Tuna & avocado. All the rolls were good & fresh, but the Out of Control roll was a HUGE party in my mouth...a MUST try!!!! Entire bill was around $30, so another star for fabulous pricing!

Went for lunch. Great selection and food and very reasonable prices. Very clean and nice restaurant with seperate dining for hibachi tables or regular tables for quick meals.
