Being from the West coast, its rare to find a place like Cracker Barrel in CA. They serve southern comfort food at this place and its pretty yummy. Everything is drizzled in my favorite ingredient 'BUTTER' . It tastes so good. My only complaint was about the waitress. She wasn't all that smart. I ordered hot tea and it took her a while to figure out what hot tea was. I guess because its so warm in AL, people usually order cold sweet tea. I threw her for a loop when I ordered Earl Grey tea. It was on the menu dang it. It wasn't like I was being a west coast dork by ordering somethign that wasn't off of the menu. Afterwards, its fun to paruse through the nick nack shop they have attached to the restaurant. It reminds me of a country store..or at least what I imagine a country store would be. 12/28 okay I'm down grading this review from 4 to 3 stars. This particular location looses a star because the food was just plain gross when I went yesterday. I'm back in CA today and I am still lementing about how disappointed I was with the food. The place seemd much dirtier than I remembered and other locations I been too. Hello, manangement...step up...fix this mess.

Always great food but on Sundays, but if you come in late they will run out of menu items...still worthwhile going

The server was very friendly and efficient. Our food came out fast and hot. The grilled chicken tenderloins were juicy and flavorful. The side vegetables were fresh and plentiful. I love the consistency of this brand. You can always count on a satisfying tasty meal.

I won't typically choose a chain restaurant for breakfast/brunch, but "hawt dog", Cracker Barrel is the exception. Growing up, we only went to Cracker Barrel on road trips, so I associate it with vacation and family time. Perhaps this is the reason that I find this tacky (because... it is, albeit delightfully so) highway roadside stop to be so inviting. After discovering that the person I am dating has never had the Cracker Barrel experience, we made the trip! I walked him around the store, we joked at the silly toys and bought some candy dots . Once seated (near the big ol' fireplace, per my request), we perused the menu, ordered and played "pegs" (If you don't know the game of pegs, you clearly need to go to Cracker Barrel.) We decided to split the "COUNTRY BOY BREAKFAST", AKA: More food than any one person should put down in one sitting. "The Cracker Barrel Country Boy Breakfast®- Country Ham, Pork Chops or Steak* grilled to order, Three Eggs* cooked to order served with Fried Apples, Hashbrown Casserole, Grits, Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits along with real Butter and the best Preserves, Jam n' Apple Butter available." I KNOW, RIGHT? We split the meal and still had to roll ourselves out of there. Everything was up to standard, cooked the way we requested, and well flavored (thank goodness for white sausage gravy!), but unfortunately the service here was just not quite up to the crowd. It took a solid 20 minutes just to get my cup of coffee. Great for a family breakfast.
